It's strange to hear the Emergency Room doctors talk about the vigilantes during the evening shift. It's usually a cross between hero worship and cursing. They appreciate the vigilantes' dedication to cutting down Gotham's crime while cursing their names for adding more to their work.

It's like listening to people talk about their favorite baseball teams. Hearing what vigilante can take on what gang or crew happens to be in the media's eye - or if one vigilante could take down another. There's tiny little model red birds or maybe bat figures in the Emergency Room workarea. Someone has a tally on a whiteboard that numbers how many gang members got sent to the hospital by a certain vigilante - there's a betting pool on who gets the most at the end of the month.

I got invited to one of their discussions after I discussed the likely height of the assailant given the manner and distribution of the bruises given to the members attacked. I mean, it's not that impressive given they see this all the time. They should be able to approximate that better than me. Or maybe they just want to be friendly to the trauma surgeon taking care of their cases that night. Who knows?

Most of the vigilante talk or what criminal gang is in power right now doesn't really interest me though. Maybe because I'm personally insulated from it. I don't ever leave the hospital due to the conditions of my parole, and most criminals don't designate the hospital as a target. A bit stupid to target the place that's going to put you back together. Usually, whatever crimes happen in the hospital are either theft or people seeking to finish a job.

Hugo is so easy to hate at first but then, THEN you see his love for Inesita, and the way he SOMETIMES defends the Cuartel. Like, for example, Hugo HATES La Pupuchurra, ok? He does. Literally the only two reasons he keeps her around was 1) she's hot, and 2) Sofía straight up went to HIS workarea to YELL at him and DEMAND that he did as SHE pleased. If Sofía had gone and ASKED HIM NICELY and EXPLAINED CALMLY the reason why she didn't want Jenny working there, I'm sure he would have reconsidered. Specially if Inesita had asked him as well.

Hugo is like 90% of the time a shitty person but then sometimes you see his good side... it almost sometimes seems that his pride is just too big for him to allow himself to be a good person.

Look, I want to hate Hugo but he just won’t let me.

Following on from today’s announcement 😁🌸 I wanted to post about my work/till counter area in the shop (this isn’t the best photo as still not 100% finished but I’ll post a better photo soon) which I’ve been working on over the last few weeks. I share this lovely building with my mum @_weddingdelights_ , my shop is at the front and the only sink used to be in the very back of the building which is 72ft long, so if you can imagine carrying heavy buckets of water has been the pain of my life for years BUT recently I got sink fitted in my room so no more having to walk back and forth with heavy buckets which is just gonna make my life so much easier and for watering plants which I’m so excited to have in the shop again. Gardening is one of my main hobbies and I love to grow from seed, I’ll be selling plants which I’ve started from seed myself this year and I’m super excited, of course buying from local plant nurseries too 🌱 Little gardening tip for this time of the year, if you want to give growing your own ago, sow your tomato seeds now to get them going early. Keep them inside on a windowsill and until the chance of frost is gone (beginning-ish of May) you can pop them outside.
