WELCOME TO WOOLSTOCK DASHSWAMP 2024
I did promise pretties
First up is a repeat visit to Akara for more pretty fibre! Hands down one of my favorite local dyers and I was afraid they had disappeared when their website went down but they just relocated!
Continuing with the fibre haul, here is some BFL from a dyer I haven't tried before called Lickety Spit but the seafoam greens and blues and the brown ensorcelled me

Finally on the fibre front, I bought 1 pound of a dark brown merino-cross roving from Farfelu Fibreworks to ply with everything because I cannot resist shoving earth tones into everything :3
This next section I'll call Tools and Trinkets
A vendor some of you may recall from previous adventures is Viscount Woodturning
I'd accidentally knocked loose a piece in my spindle dish and was delighted to see Scott at Woolstock! He took the dish to repair it for free and I bought a new sibling for Liam the Little Acorn
No names picked out yet but I love the brass tip and it's almost painterly design that makes me think of a wand from Witch Hat Atelier
Here it is, both naked and clothed in that lovely Merino X brown
A tool and a trinket next; I bought a lucet and some lovely wooden earrings from The Woodlot
I've only managed to do simple cording thus far of the Lucet and have no idea what I'll use it for yet so if you have any examples of Cool Things you've made with a Lucet then show meeeeee!
Stay tuned for part 3

My final purchase from Woolstock (but not this outting) came from My Needle Crafts in the form of this much needed Bucket Bag.
The quality is really immpressive and I managed to talk myself out of buying yet another item in shades of brown somehow >.<
My only quibble is the handle Feels Bad but I can modify that if I feel like it later
Oh! One extra fibre grab I almost forgot about is this $6 bag of random alpaca fibre that I grabbed from a random lady without a business card.
I've shoved it into my freezer and will pick through it to remove vm after it finishes chilling out
Now, onto other goodies :3
After I eat dinner

After bidding farewell to Woolstock, we stop into an antique store to buy more shuttle bobbins.
I've been using my bobbin winder to fill them with spindle singles for easy plying later and I never have enough
Lastly, my local library was having a book sale and I nabbed, for $5, this beast of a book
Of Coverlettes: The Legacies, The Weavers by Sayde Tune Wilson & Doris Finch Kennedy
This book is...amazing
They have so many weavers accredited and they have some hand written notes and patterns and just seeing these women honored in this way is so important
Does it also have the benefit of being a pricey first edition that I can sell in my old age?
Bitch maybe idk I am bad at looking into it but I saw one posted for $540 and another for $1000+ so I'm not unhappy about that

Ohohohohoho @platinumssnake Woolstock is a fibre festival that happens in Paris, Ontario each year!
Here is a link to my grabs from last time
Last year I went and picked up a bunch of fibre but also my Emotional Support Spindle Liam who looks like a little acorn!
If you're in the area then check it out but save some fluff for me ^_^
