Character Information XXX: Zivs Lightsaber

Zivs Lightsaber is a living beeing. This is not meant as a methaphor for the semi-sentient Kybercrystal every Lightsaber is build around, but a actual fact. When Ziv was send to the AgriCorps, her adeptgroups Master X ‘ Ma lead Ziv to replace the mainparts of the Lightsaber hilt with Brylark-Wood, so Ziv could easier start to learn Consitor Sato. As using the ability means beeing able to manipulate plantcells, Ziv needed to learn to actually grasp for those cells she is not able to sense normally. Especially not her with her lack of telapathy skill. This not also included reading up on her Plantlore to learn how differnet kind of plants are build and what parts of their molecular build she needed to manipulate, but to also build a “plan” in her head of how a plant and cells are build. She had to learn to abstract the build of plants in her head so she could manipulate them. Which meant that whenever she woud be using her lightsaber, she would need to “grasp” for the wood and its cells on her lightsaber hilt and lead her energy through  it until it became as naturally for her as breathing. X ´ Ma had trained many AgriCorps Adepts, she knew what she was doing and Zivs Training in the Halls of Healing as a Healer aided her in the task of “abstraction”. Which means that the Brylark wood the hilt is mostly made of is not cut off and dead but is kept alive through Ziv manipulating the woods cells constantly while she is meditating with it with her own energy. As later after Order 66 the Kybercrystal in Zivs Lightsaber cracked, it became useless as a weapon beside stuttering a few meager teal sparks whenever activated. Which is obviously the reason why Ziv is leaning so much on her Botanist skills.

 However, the Lightsaber is a Jedis Life and Pride, so Ziv would not let go of it although she never had been a Jedi. It does not change the fact that she was raised to be one in the Temple. Whenever she is unwatched, the woman will take out the Lightsaber, look it over for damage and then train like Specialist X ‘ Ma had teached her by “Grasping” for the woodcells and letting her energy rush through it in different amounts.  As Ziv is too restless to meditate and when not preforming Alchaka she prefers her work with the Lightsaber and the preperation of her favorite salves, tinctures and oinments every morning to keep her mind as even as possible. As she “feeds” The Brylark wood in the hilt of the Lightsaber with her own energy, she keeps the cells of the wood alive and therefor they keep growing slowly and are therefor a “living plant”. Which also tries to grow leafs and preform phosythesis, so Ziv looking over the lightsaber usually includes cutting whatever branches the wood tries to grow. She is mildly annoyed by it.
