When I create with wood veneer I sometimes doubt my skill level. It’s a fickle material to work with, especially in the manner I work with it... I cut it down into a bunch of small pieces just to glue them back together. Fantastic music of the future / English Music 2019

Fantastic music of the future, I think, will have in itself a bit of classical music, not only in our usual performance. The classics will be shifted for other musical instruments not yet familiar to us. Maybe strong stakes in such music will be allocated with the help of percussion instruments, this is already being done. And “modern music” in the future will be richer than now. Nowadays, in contemporary compositions, a completely different volume of instruments is used, as, for example, in symphonic music. The heart compass is a constant reminder to always seek and speak my truth, and to go in directions that make sense to me, even though they may not make sense to anyone else. • This piece tested my patience, and pushed my boundaries and that felt good. I surprised myself with the amount of focus and determination I had to make it work. • I started it with the intention that I would be present in the process, without any attachment to the outcome. I discovered that in approaching it this way, the result is more than I could have imagined it to be. I get asked a lot where I learned the skills of working with my hands and tools. While I’d like to say its a compilation of years of trial and error, sweat and tears, learning and research,... the true credit goes to my Dad. He planted and nurtured the seed early on. My Dad was a “Jack of all trades”, which is funny because his name is Jack. His classic statement when someone asked if he had a part or tool to fix something was, “I’ve got it in stock”. My dad prided himself on a packed, messy, yet organized garage, full of tools and parts to fix or make anything you could think of (twice). So at an early age I fell in love with tools. I learned how to respect and care for them, collect and maintain them. Every Christmas and birthday, tools were always first thing on my list. While having the skill to work with your hands is great having the right tool for the job can set you for success. So with that said, I want to give the credit where credits due. DAD I owe a whole lot of this thing I call talent to you. You set me for success, with the right tools and mindset that I can do anything I put my mind to. I had the honor and privilege of attending the @blackfeatherwhiskey launch party this weekend at the El Adobe in San Juan Capistrano. The attention to detail and love that goes into they’re whiskey truly shows not only in the taste but also the beautiful bottle. The launch party was a total blast. They showed 3 short films 🎬 about those who live what they love. One film featured ⭐️ @freenotecloth a So Cal apparel brand reviving old school standards of quality and character. Another featured a Utah hatter 🎩 producing perfection with methods and machinery from the 1800’s. As well as a short film of a true guitar hero pushing music as hard as he can. They also had awesome live music from @professorcolombo thank you @blackfeatherwhiskey for inviting me, I’m looking forward to sharing many more amazing bottles of whiskey together. A common response I get about the woods that I work with is, “I love the different color stains.” I wanted to clarify that the woods I use are not stained, these are they’re true colors, only enhanced with a good sanding and oil finish. Exotic woods come in a wide variety of colors and patterns.
