The Briefing [JAX PD Thread]
  While Kurapika hated being stuck on desk duty, he was glad he had been the one that was put in charge of collecting all the information from the others. He wasnât sure if they would have been able to catch on ask quickly as he did to the similarities of the cases they had gotten recently, but he had.Â
  The moment he had noticed these things he had quickly sought out Madara and requested he bring everyone in together for a briefing. They had a serial killer on the loose and the needed to act fast before more people were killed.
   âFirstly Iâd like to thank you all for filling out your paper work as neatly as you could. It made compiling all the information extremely easy and thanks to all that Iâve been able to determine something extremely important.... All these recent crimes weâve gotten till now seem to have been the work of one person. Iâm afraid we have a serial killer in Wonderland.â

Momentai
@dragonstrike-dragonlightâ
  Even though she could no longer feel the hostile presence behind her, Kagome refused to stop running until she got to safety. She knew better than to trust her senses in this world, nothing really worked as it should have after all, and everyone had some strange powers of their own. Trusting herself when there was uncertainty in a situation was a fools errand, and a fool she tried not to be, especially when she knew there were people that would get extremely upset if anything worse happened to her. Hell, she knew that even just the thought of her having a run in with the Serial Killer was going to set off two idiots and cause extreme worry in a princess.
  However, as she continued running, she sensed a demonic presence approaching her, a hostile one. For a brief moment fear and uncertainty ran through her until she recognized it, and she knew instantly that the hostility was not directed at her, but worry still gripped at her. She slowed in her running as the dog demon suddenly landed in front of her, she could see the worry mixed with anger in his bright red eyes.Â
  Instantly she closed the gap between them, pressing herself into the fur at the demons neck as held her arms out around it.
   âIâm okay...Iâm fine. Iâve only got a scratch, nothing I canât heal. Theyâre not following me anymore...â She spoke as calmly as she could, however her eyes glancing behind her to convince herself they were in fact gone.

Literal Joke
starter for @water-bending-queenâ
it was routine for Zuko to return home and come home to take a shower. It broke the monotony of being around food after dealing with it all day (and even if he was hungry, he desperately needed that break from cooking something) and just helped him to relax. The patter of water against his face helped to clear his mind while the steam from a very very hot shower soothed his nerves.
Zuko ran his hands through his hair, rinsing the rest of the shampoo from the strands. Through his distraction of a comforting shower, Zuko had missed the door to his bathroom open. And he missed the shadow that approached the shower. He only became alert when the curtain pulled back.
âWhat the-â His words were cut off as the stranger swiped at him, the knife connecting with the skin just above his hip. Zuko winced as he quickly turned towards the assailant, feet slipping on the wet plastic of the showerâs floor. His hand reached out as he fell, tearing down the curtain as he crashed into the showerâs tub.
Steam swirled around Zukoâs mind, and the shock of a surprise assailant had his golden eyes struggling to see straight. Droplets of crimson blood dripped from his side and mixed with the falling water, turning it pink as it swirled down the drain. His emotions got the best of him, and Zuko exhaled deeply. But when flames didnât shoot from his mouth, he knew something was wrong. No, he thought. Concentrate. Youâre not done! Hazily he blinked, and his golden eyes widened as he watched the stranger stab forward.
Instinctively Zuko reached forward with the shower curtain clenched between his fists and caught the knife in between the cottony fabric. His eyes widened and he twisted the fabric, causing the knife to fall from the manâs hand and narrowly missing cutting Zukoâs foot. The firebender glanced up for the first time at his assailant and saw the crazed mask he had heard about in the news.
The Killing Joke.
He shoved forward, throwing the shower curtain at the serial killer. âGet out... Get out!â he yelled, finally finding his strength as a blast of fire exploded from his hand. The steam became thicker as heat filled the room, fire crashing against the door frame as The Killing Joke backed out of the room.
Exhaustion of overexertion and the swirling heat finally caused Zuko to lean his head back and take deep breaths.

To Catch A Killer || Hina & Cassata
@foxishprotectorâ needs a starter!
  In hindsight, maybe this wasnât the brightest idea that Hina had ever had. In fact, it was probably one of her worst, but as she stood at the gates to Amusement Land, she knew there wasnât any going back now. Turning her head, Hina locked eyes with Cassata, her new companion and apparently partner.Â
  âAre you sure you want to do this with me? Iâll be just fine on my own.â

Aftermath || Open
  When Kaoru woke up after his restless, painkiller nap, the first thing he noticed was how thirsty he was. And the sudden headache. And the searing pain in his side. Coughing, the youngest Hitachiin opened his eyes to the blinding light of his room and sat up -- regrettably, because whatever medicine they had given him made him nauseated. Holding his breath, Kaoru squeezed his eyes shut until it passed.Â
  âWater...â He mumbled, fumbling around on the table next to him until he noticed the figure standing near him. The male jumped, and the water was forgotten, the events of the last few hours flooding back. âS-Sorry! I... didnât expect to see you here...â

Silence Is Heavy || (event open)
  It was cold in the Summerfield Clinic waiting room. It was freezing, even. Shouko absently wondered if the air conditioner was running, but for once in her life she was grateful she couldnât hear it. She was grateful she couldnât hear anything at all. Her body ached lowly, but the rest of her was numb. Her mind was numb. Hazel eyes stared blankly down at her bare feet, socks stained with dirt and worn from the rocks outside of the Rosewood dorms. Thin arms crossed over her stomach, almost as if the deaf girl was trying to close in on herself.
  Perhaps she was. This was her fault, after all.
  As most things were.Â
  It hadnât taken the ambulance long to arrive, and Shouko had only known by the blinding lights illuminating the entire street outside. She hadnât needed to go, really, she was probably fine. Minato was the one in danger. But nevertheless, here is where she had ended up. They tended to her gently, cleaning the wound on her temple and covering it with a bandage and any scraped and bruises she had managed to get in the struggle. Theyâd asked her questions, she was sure, but she couldnât have answered even if she wanted to. Now all she could do was wait. And think. And think some more. So much thinking, so much twisting in her gut as she sat in a silent numbness, praying for any news on her friendâs condition.Â
  A tap on her shoulder and Shouko lurched foreward, body on high alert and mind racing as she spun her head. Calm down! She scolded herself. You are fine. This is fine. Lifting her hands, she signed shakily. âIâm sorry, were you talking to me?â

Zero to hero
@boyofmiracles
Sakura took some of her breaks outside in the grass, where trees and leaves decorated the landscape for both beauty and some relief to recovering patients who miss the outdoors. Now, it was the only way for Sakura to stay awake. They had been busy, with attacks left and right and people filtering in and out of the hospital. With the worst of the worst happening and the world seeming to collapse around her again, Sakura threw herself into her work just to avoid thinking at all possible, to keep herself from nightmares and horrors that worried and haunted her. Work was the best distraction. She had not been able to stop the killer when she ran into him, and it bothered her. At least at the hospital she was helpful and attentive, she could heal people and help, even though it completely drained her chakra and her energy. But unfortunately her supervisors demanded she take breaks. Worried for her of course, but depleting her chakra in her waking hours allowed her to sleep more deeply and without dreams. So there was little to be had when she took strolls outside. Today there was no one out and about. The warm breeze and the sunshine on her face caused her to smile softly. With everything going on lately, a moment of peace and quiet was welcome. She wanted to think she was adjusting a little better to wonderland with Sasukeâs help, his cool demeanor and presence distracting her from thinking of all she missed back home. Her mother, her friends, Naruto even.Â
Sakura smiled to herself in full, yes she missed the gutsy ninja who had come to worm his way into her heart as her best friend. She wondered how he would think of wonderland, what he would do if he were here. How life would be if he joined them in this strange place. Kakashi, Sasuke, herself, and Naruto loose in wonderland? There would be no one to stop them. She heard a noise behind her, and assuming it was a coworker summoning her back for a question or issue, Sakura peeked lazily over her shoulder at her company. A flash of color caught her eye, and she jumped back , peering around cautiously. When nothing appeared, she sighed, blaming lack of sleep for her uneasiness. Still though, she cautiously scanned the landscape. âRight.â She glanced to the right, seeing nothing there but shrubbery. âAbove.â Her green eyes shot upwards, catching nothing but a blue bird soaring past, her hands glowed green as she grew more uneasy. She had heard something right? âLeft.â Her eyes moved to the left, seeing nothing but the hospital way off in the distance. Maybe she was just being paranoid. âBehind?â
~~~TW blood, gore, stabbing ect. ~~~
Bless my soul, Sakura got a reroll, point her at a murderer and youre talkin âOH GOD OH NOâ Sakura rolled a 19 17-19. Â Killing Joke jabs forward and stabs you in the chest. You fall to the ground, clutching your wound with the killer hovering over you. Before he can finish you off, you hear voices in the distance and watch as the masked man leaves. Then you faint. Youâre in critical condition.
Sakura whirled around, and to her absolute horror, the flash of color filled her eyes once more before they locked onto the dark blade that was now protruding from the center of her chest. When her back hit the grass she felt the pain. âStaunche the bleeding.â Her trembling hands pressed over the hole in her chest, and she was forced to look into the eyes of the Killing joke once more. Anger surged through her as she stared, the coward had fled the last time, only to land a hard blow on her when she was at her weakest. Her eyes fluttered, fighting to keep them open. She was angry, her heart beating faster which only seemed to make her hands soaked faster. When was the last time she bled this much? When was the last time her chakra was not up to par with her wounds?Â
Anger shifted into fear as the gravity of her situation started to sink in. Her lips trembled as she wanted to spit venom and curses at the killer, but found her tongue felt like cotton. Black spots popped up around the corners of her vision. And the small part of her brain still aware told her there was a voice in the background. Maybe a few. But one stuck out in particular. She wanted to laugh as her arms went limp, a time like this and she hallucinates Naruto of all people?
Death Clings || Open Starter
If we have more than 4 threads together (we as in muns), please do not respond! I want to interact with as many muns as possible when it comes to Nico!
    The air in Wonderland felt...strange and familiar. The way the air just slumped in energy reminded him of something, but his mind wasnât letting him make the connection. The sense of dread, the feeling of terror and hopelessness; Nico has felt this before, when he was younger, but what could it be-
    Nicoâs eyes widened, âTartarus.â
    He needed to not be his and Willâs apartment right now. The walls started to constrict on him; as if the room was getting smaller, darker, and like he was being eaten alive. Grabbing his coat Nico quickly dashed out of the apartment and entered the dark, silent street. Few people braved the dark no a days, but a child of Hades had no reason to fear the dark.
     Nico sat down under a street lamp and took out his phone, put one earbud in and tried to shake off whatever happened in the apartment. For a moment, he had peace; his mind was fully immersed in the video he was watching and he could feel his own heart calm down- but a noise shattered his fragile serenity and he quickly summoned his sword and pointed in the direction of where the sound came from.
    âWh-whoâs there!?â
Time to Investigate [Killing Joke Event]
starter @inthenightosphere
Killua stepped off the train his hands stuffed in his hoodie pockets. With a huff he made his way onto the platform away from the yellow line ad surveyed the area. Okay now it was time to get started there. was not much information but the least he could do is start here. It was around the same time that the bastard was to get hear a few days ago so first step, the security. He walked over to the security guards knowing fully well this might not come up with anything but at the very least it was a start.Â
âExcuse me sir? Have you seen anything unusual lately?â
âIn wonderland kid? Everything is unusual?â The guy turned and continued to make his rounds.
âWell guess I should have expected that. Knew it would be harder then that to find him.â He said out loud to himself.
third timeâs the (unlucky) charm || Strelitzia + Larxene
@cutthroat-nymph
Things were...
A little scary, in Wonderland.Â
A spree of killings, a bodycount that ticked higher with every phase of the moon? The Darkness would have had a party in Wonderland, if Heartless could manifest here. Strelitzia was relieved on that note; if Heartless were in Wonderland, theyâd be drawn to the Keyblade. Itâd put Elrena in danger. Itâd put anyone in danger, really, but Strelitzia wasnât too bothered.Â
It was okay...to be a little more protective over your Fated, right?
Not that she was certain Elrena was hers. Sheâd yet to ask Elrena to show off her ankles, and she didnât want to push. They were still good, good friends, the best, and Strelitzia was content with that. Even if she was Fated to...to someone else, that didnât mean she couldnât be with Elrena, right?Â
The bonds between Hearts is stronger than even destiny, Chirithy told her quietly. I wouldnât worry too much about it.
âThanks,â she whispered to her Dream Eater, before she swung the hand holding Elrenaâs playfully. âWhat a spooky memory weâre making, huh? Listen...I donât want you going off alone in the dark, okay? I know youâre a big girl and you can take care of yourself, but why take the risk? We can have a sleepover! Iâll make you those cookies you like so much!â
You, cooking? I donât know if thatâs such a good idea.
âItâs baking, Chirithy, it doesnât count!â she whined, before summoning the spirit to their true form with a huff, holding them out under their stubby little arms. âI can bake better than I cook, for sure, b-but Iâm getting better!âÂ
âBetter at burning, maybe,â Chirithy teased.Â
âUgh, youâre the worst.âÂ
âHee hee. Anyway...â Chirithyâs floppy ears twitched. âYou two really should start to hustle. Itâs not safe out on the streets this late. Plus, do you want to get caught breaking curfew, Elrena?â
Wonderland Has Changed || Killing Joke Response
   He was lucky. Darra Eilidh was a lucky fae tonight.
   Darra had heard about this âserial killerâ from the many whispers around Wonderland and Darraâs confusion took over. Why would someone want to end the life of someone else? Whatâs the point in doing that? Thatâs just...wrong. Every night that Darra slept in the Arburlan Forest the thought of this person just running around Wonderland, Darraâs Wonderland and just ending peopleâs lives just...angered him.
    Anger, that was a rare emotion for Darra to feel as in most circumstances he was a joyful and curious fae. But not now. Darra felt nothing but anger and confusion about this person.
    Clutching at the roots of the tree, âThis is my home...he is hurting people in my home...â
   That night, he decided to fly into Wonderland, and try and find the Killing Joke. The name itself felt like a cut to Darra; why would they give themselves such a wrong name. Death wasnât a joke. And his fellow residents of Wonderland being killed was not a joke either.
     In his human form, Darra walked down the dark alleyways, but as he did, he could feel his fear start to weigh in his gut. This was such a stupid idea! He let his own anger cloud his thoughts and now here he was searching for something much more dangerous than the monsters-
     A sound behind him. Darra stopped. His heartbeat deafening in his ears.
   Run. Fly. Survive.
    His wings appeared without thought but while he was in mid take-off a burning pain cut through his top right wing and Darra fell to the ground with a scream.
    Pain. This wasnât a new experience for Darra...but the level of pain was new. The kind of pain was new. And the fear that accompanied the new level just destroyed him.
    âG...G...GET THE HELL AWAY FROM ME!!! YOU DONâT BELONG HERE!!â Summoning his strength, Darra managed to cause a couple of the smaller plants growing through the concrete to lash out at where he guess the Killing Joke was. Whether or not he did any damage, Darra didnât care. He just needed to survive.
    Flying at top speed, Darraâs eyes could only see in blurred streaks; was it from the pain of the knife wound or the pure fear that he just felt that was causing him to cry, Darra didnât know. All he knew was that he was not back in his tree, clutching at the branch.
   Causing the surrounding branches to cover him, Darrra also made thrones sprout out on the outside of his protective covering.
    â...this...this isnât the Wonderland I know....the Wonderland I knew...is long g-gone...â Fresh sobs broke through Darraâs throat as he wept into the now softening bark of the branch. Sleep was found, but it was not a restful sleep.
Rescue Team
â© Please help, @incendiary-bombâ and @theriotingredâ!!
  Run. Run. Run. They had to keep going, keep running. Couldnât stop, not until they found help.
  The Empoleon charged down the streets of Belinia as fast as her feet could carry her, her Garchomp companion hot on her heels. Alexia knew the magic powering her form was fading, and fast. Her body felt heavier and heavier with each bounding step. The Pokemon needed to find someone to save their trainer, the sooner the better.
  Faolan screeched something abruptly as they ran, prompting the leading Empoleon to stop. The sand shark raised a clawed arm to point, chittering a few more times in her native tongue. She spotted him; the red man, the spiky one who was with Dawn all the time. Finally! Someone who could help!
  Nodding to one another the two Pokemon charged toward the spiky human, apparently accompanied by another spiky human. The second one had soft yellow hair, like a Ninetails, and looked really angry. Was he friends with the red spiky man? Kiri-whatshit?
  Alexia squawked out a strained cry as she approached, Faolan doing much the same. These humans wouldnât be able to understand, but for Arceusâ sake, they had to try. Dawn was in danger!!
Zuko is just there for the ride with @water-bending-queenâ
This Killing Joke bastard had been getting on Zukoâs nerves. The last thing Wonderland needed was an individual keeping everyone cooped up in fear. The last thing the firebender needed was the reminder that he had been attacked in the shower. And every time he saw news about this killer, his blood boiled.
So when Katara apparently solved the clues and discovered his location, he couldnât help but skeptically follow her. He wasnât going to let her confront this guy alone, even if he didnât believe that heâd actually be here.
He glanced around at the rides in this apparent âamusement parkâ and curled his lips. His fingerâs flexed by his sides, ready to strike at a momentâs notice. Even if the killer wasnât here, this place seemed eerie. Was it normally this dead? How was this place considered fun?
âHow are you even sure that heâs here? Who would be stupid enough to leave obvious clues about their whereabouts?â
Frights in the Night | Open Starter
Business had been popping since the announcement of a serial killer stalking the city. While it meant more hours for the changeling and long nights of constant deliveries, he was lucky to make some major tips. But he was even luckier when he was allowed to clock out.
Once he was freed from the mall, Garfield hopped onto his moped with his favorite sunglasses and one of his helmets and drove off. The street were mostly empty, and Garfield honestly found himself nerved. This was too eerie, even for him, he thought as he stared at the various bars that were normally alive with cheer and laughter.
When he turned his attention back to the road, Garfield gasped as he realized there was a person in his path. Immediately he stepped on the brakes and he gritted his teeth as he braced himself for this funky stop. Finally his moped stopped and he took a deep breath.
âWoah, hey, I didnât se eyou there,â he said, raising his hand to his head and crashing it into his helmet. Shit, thatâs right. Safety first. âWhyâre you walking around so late? Donâcha know that itâs dangerous with that Joke guy?â
For Your Friends || Event Drabble
  Kaoru had never been an impulsive person on his own. It was more Hikaruâs style, and the two of them together werenât always the smartest, but alone Kaoru had always thought through every possibility before making a decision. But when he had received the call from the otherâs about Tamakiâs condition, after the countless hours he had spent worrying and the endless questions he had shot at the Jax police, demanding they find Haruhi -- he had deciding to take things into his own hands.Â
  He hated that he understood. In the midst of all of this, he understood that the police department had so much on their hands with the Killing Joke that they had to stop him before pursuing every other lead. But shit! This wasnât just another lead. This was Tamaki and Haruhi, this was his friends -- no, his family. And their lives were on the line. He told no one where he was going, not even Kyoya or Hikaru, before he left at sundown.Â
  âIâll make this right,â The youngest Hitachiin mumbled, looking up into the sky.Â
  Now here he was, one half of a pair alone in the middle of Jax, searching. He really had no solid leads, nowhere to truly look, but he knew this was where the pair had been when the attack occurred, and his feet carried him heavily there. Maybe he couldnât do anything. Maybe he could do everything. Maybe none of it mattered now. Swallowing thickly, Kaoru heaved in a chilled breath and began dissecting the town piece by piece.Â
  It wasnât until he came upon a broken locket on the ground that he stopped in his tracks. He didnât recognize it, knew nothing like it belonged to either of his friends, but something about it caused him to freeze. The way the rusted chain stuck to the cobblestone and the heart shape had been bent, seemed... so utterly lonely, so fitting for the situation. It was abandoned, forgotten, a moment in time. Where had it come from? Had someone lost it in a struggle? Someone like Haruhi? Maybe he should take a closer look--Â
  And then the searing pain began, in his right side. It burned, and Kaoru sucked in the sharpest breath he could manage. What the hell? Turning as well as he could manage with the object in his abdomen (which was only enough to catch the glimpse of a figure), his heart beat loudly in his chest. How had he not heard them approaching? How could he have been so reckless? How could he--Â
  A low chuckled resounded in his ear, and he began to feel sick. The locket in his fingertips fell to its place on the ground once more, and he could taste the faintest of metals in the back of his mouth. The knife twisted in his side, a sort of warning he could have guessed. âLeave it alone.â It seemed to say: âOr next time it will be much more than just you.â
  As quickly as it had been shoved into him, the sharp object was gone and Kaoru was on his knees, stones digging into skin. He clutched at his sides and gasped, the wetness on his fingertips causing them to shake violently. Echoing footsteps receded, and the male reached for his phone. It nearly clattered to the ground with the force of his trembling. Dialing the only number he knew by heart, Kaoruâs free hand caught him against the street.Â
  âH-Hikaru...â
