Common Threads: Stories from the Quilt (1989). A collection of profiles of people dead from AIDS who are remembered in the AIDS Memorial Quilt.
Riveting documentary on the AIDS crisis. Nuanced, political, and intimate in ways I forget documentaries can be sometimes. You really feel like you know these people, so you feel the devastation of their individual and collective loss. I think I started crying ten minutes in and didn't stop until the end. 9/10.

I just watched the Mother God documentary and man, white people take spiritualism TOO FAR. why is that when white people get heavily into crystals, chakras, tarot, and psychedelics, they start believing they're God? its like they believe their own bullshit that ends up destroying them.
if you ever ate a chicken nugget, I don't want to ever hear about how you're a spiritual being who is here to ascend humanity.

Further crack idea:
Chapter 3 Matilda meeting Actors AU Matilda and asking 51 questions about Mercuria and Kanjira 😭
Do you mean little Matilda or Canon Matilda? I'll do both just in case
Young Matilda: Huh? Who is this lady? (Kanjira) She's not Sonetto, are you sure you're me?
Matilda: Listen here you little menace! That's my girlfriend Kanjira, and this- (Holds Mercuria's hand) Is my girlfriend Mercuria! Get it right!
Young Matilda: Eh?!
Actors AU Matilda having to explain that no, she's no longer in love with Sonetto and has moved on and is currently in a happy relationship with her two girlfriends, meanwhile Little Matilda is wide eyed asking literally every question that pops into her brain.
"How did you manage to get two girlfriends?"
"..Is that an insult?"
"But they're so pretty for you"
"Listen here you piece of-"
She warms up to the idea of having Kanjira and Mercuria as lovers (they praised her a lot and found her really cute and Lil Matilda liked the attention), but she'll continue to have a crush on Sonetto until she can get over it.
Kanjira to Matilda: You really look like a duck when young!
Matilda: What?! I don't! Right Mercuria??
Mercuria: . . .
Matilda: Right, Mercuria?
Canon Matilda (pre 1.3 and 2.0) would be more apprehensive. She would be questioning Actors AU Matilda a lot more and wondering why she would move on from Sonetto.
There's still a chance Sonetto returns those feelings, right? Well, no. Sonetto is dating Schneider so, in this universe, not really.
"Why would you give up on Sonetto? The greatest Matilda would NEVER give up on something she loves!"
"Was I- Was I really like that? My God I was annoying "
"H-how dare you insult the great Matilda?!"
She's a bit... Bitter, saying she wouldn't give up like the Matilda in this world, which also clouds her judgement a bit. Mercuria and Kanjira can't lie, that is how Matilda used to act before entering the set.
#reverse 1999#defining sanity#r1999 actors au#I'm a big Schnetto shipper 😞#anyways I think Matilda is a bit silly before 1.3#she's just... annoying but in s cute way#I had forgotten I drafted this to continue and damn#Matilda having to explain to her younger self why she has two girlfriends and why she loves them#and Matilda arguing with herself from another universe about Sonetto#Mercuria and Kanjira were there eating popcorn and discussing the situation like s documentary#“and so our Matilda has won the argument” “CAN YOU STOP???”

has the canal documentary come out?? I saw some clip of charles playing with Leo but that's pretty much it ☹️
Thank you!
I've seen several clips as well. I think it aired after the GP yesterday, but not sure if it's available to watch on demand or whatever, as I can't get Canal+. Any French moots/followers who can chime in?
If you have Twitter, redvroomguy has a wonderful thread with some clips (+ translations) from the documentary, including Charles playing guitar and piano, recommending a restaurant to Carlos, eating pizza, and loads of snippets with Leo.
#i think they might add more since charles won#that would be so cool#please put it on youtube canal+#s'il vous plaît?#charles leclerc#prince charles documentary#monaco gp 2024#anon ask

The Love Has Won documentary on HBO is heartbreaking. You can feel how vulnerable her followers were. They are extremely attractive and broken, and blonde. You can tell several of them have watched how to be charismatic and demand respect youtube videoe.
Also, .....Robin Williams?
I am the lady who refers herself to half hippie and half redneck.
Someday I hope I get to direct documentaries like this. Once you start doing documentaries you can see all the flaws, bias, and tweaking to make the story fit. The creators and crew really hated the final Father God with a unholy passion.

Hotel Terminus (1988). A documentary about Klaus Barbie, the Gestapo chief of Lyon, and his life after the war.
Due to both it's run-time (four and a half hours!), and its harrowing depictions of the acts of a monster, it took me a few days to get through this really important documentary on the Nazi SS Officer, Klaus Barbie. Across its runtime, it details not just his childhood and his violent torture of people in France during WWII, but his subsequent escape, employment by the US Counterintelligence Corps, escape to South America, and finally extradition and trial back to France some 40 years later. It's a damning portrait not just of the man, but of the structures in place globally that allowed him to thrive even after the war, which - - yeah. Makes it a hard watch. Vital viewing, even if it is very long and haphazardously edited at times. 8/10.

I really do love how much of a Beyoncé stan Blue is they are so cute together. I know she get on Beyoncé's NERVES lmao. The irony of Bey having to mother a literal younger version of herself and the parallels of the scenes where Beyoncé is arguing with crew members saying "x is not possible" "well actually, no it is possible I looked it up" [cut to the stage being how she wants it] and with "Blue, calm down, we can't do every song" "No no you cannot cut Diva" [cut to Bey performing Diva]
#much respect for Blue thats daughter she knew what the fans want i know she wins EVERY argument lmao#bc i was like how tf Beyonce let her daughter perform so many times when i know she did not want to - so to get the confirmation#that she was fighting with Blue and Blue just won and got her way and got to perform and then wormed her way into being apart of the show#lmao#an icon in the making#beyoncé#blue ivy carter#anyway the blue ivy documentary was great so kind of her to let her apolitical mother direct it

Vocabulary (geirfa)
Coelio -> to believe (verb)
coelion -> belief (noun)
Wnaeth y cyflwynedd, actores a cantores Lisa Jên bostio ar Twitter am rywbeth ei bod hi dweud dyw hi ddim yn gallu ‘coelio’n lwc’, or that she couldn’t believe her luck. Learned a new word today!
‘Methu coelio’n lwc!’ Can’t believe our luck!
Note: ‘n here. I’d assume it was short for ‘ein’? Our luck?
‘Wnes i ddim yn gallu coelio fy lwc pan wnes i ddod o hyd iddi hi. Ro’n i wedi bod ei chwylio amdani hi am hir!’ I couldn’t believe my luck when I found her. I had been searching for her for ages!
‘Doedd fy nghoelion ddim wedi cael torri.’ My belief was not shattered. (Idk, dramatic sentence. Couldn’t think of much else to use belief in really)
Another word for believe is ‘credu’, though I don’t know if you can use the two in interchangeable ways.
‘Dw i ddim un credu bod neb wedi ei weud e wrthi hi.’ I don’t believe that anyone has told her [about it].
#Not tagging this any of the learner tags bc each and every one of those sentences could be exquisitely wrong#vocabulary#sentences#source: dictionary#source: online#Source: twitter#Lisa Jên was in the folk indie rock band 9Bach!#Also if you’re a Super Furries fan you may also remember her from doing the backing vocals on Gruff Rhys’ song Candylion#She won a Welsh BAFTA recently for a documentary on the Welsh language: Stori’r Iaeth!

today was definitely a good day. it was cloudy and even coldish (above 20 degrees lol) today so perfect conditions, i ididn't even have to wear sunglasses. i spent the whole day cleaning up the first skeleton. boss isn't bothering me anymore and i'm not exposed to their sexist talks bc there is only 3 of us so he has to work instead of annoying me hehe. in the evening me and the film maker guy went for a long walk through the fields. the conversation felt really natural and tbh i'm very satisfied that apparently i cAN still experience this sort of openness to strangers that allows you to connect with new ppl (40+ man in this case lol). i''m very reserved so talking with ppl i don't know is usally a rather difficult thing for me. he told me about the process behind him losing faith and getting disillusioned with organised religion. after i typed it now it sounds very serious as a topic of second talk you have with someone new but it wasn't like a dead serious philosophival debate, i had a lot of fun on our walk. i enjoyed the way in which he summed up a lot of nonsensical beliefs and thought cliches that aren't even seen as absurd by religious ppl bc they're so desensitised to them. it feels good to freely hate on religion with someone, especially in on a walk in beautiful countryside with lots of hills. when we came back to our school it was already dark.
tomorrow is saturday so we are going to start work later, at 9 or maybe even 10 am, bc boss wants to go to the closest town to check out the flea market there. sleeping in, yay ^_^ on the other hand its going to be warmer tomottow, 30 or more degrees. so i would prefer to start earlier before the heat makes being in the sun unbearable. but its okay either way. i'm in a good mood and will get 8 hours of sleep :)
#it feels so good to not feel awkward in the presence of a stranger#hope the documentary guy won;t destroy it by being weird. you know how it is with men. especially those 20yo older than you.#>_<#moje#liveblogging
