- The moment when actress Won Jinah, who gazes at the world with a face full of curiosity, radiates loveliness -

Q. The upcoming film Secret: Untold Melody is a melodrama, but today, I wanted to make actress Won Jinah the protagonist of a romantic comedy. I apologize for making you get into a bathtub full of balloons. (laughs)

Not at all. (laughs) I had so much fun! It was a new experience. Since the film has a calm and lyrical feel, I thought it would be fun for viewers to see a contrasting image.

Q. Throughout the shoot, you talked very specifically about tonight’s dinner menu. Was it because you’ve been on a diet for the film?

It might have seemed like I was making a great effort, but honestly, I’m not good at enduring things. To confess, I only did it for about three days. Instead, I exercise a lot on a regular basis, and I eat what I really want while keeping my other meals healthy—like the carrot I was carrying around earlier. When I get home today, I plan to eat fried chicken because I love crispy-textured food. Fried chicken, pork cutlets, and sweet and sour pork are my soul foods. When I bite into something crispy and savoury, I feel like all the fatigue of the day disappears.

Q. What genre does Won Jinah usually live in?

A coming-of-age drama filled with constant chaos? (laughs) Because of my voice and the image of the roles I’ve played, many people see me as a serious character. But recently, my ‘elementary school kid’ side has been revealed on variety shows. I’m full of energy. I described my life as a coming-of-age drama because these days, I find joy in acquiring knowledge. I’m getting into watching science-related videos and reading books. I’m also starting to understand why my parents kept emphasising the importance of studying when I was younger.

Q. Taking time to reflect on yourself is a very positive thing. It hasn’t been long since the new year began. Do you have any New Year's resolutions?

I don’t make specific plans just because a new year has started. I don’t really like celebrating anniversaries or special days. I just go about my days as usual, without getting too excited. Lately, I’ve been spending a lot of time on promotional activities for Secret: Untold Melody ahead of its release. I’m even doing Reels challenges with my co-stars—something I’ve only ever seen on social media. (laughs) Since it’s been a long time since we filmed, reuniting with my co-stars feels both joyful and sentimental.

Q. Since the release has been delayed, do you feel a sense of ‘finally!’?

While I do feel excited, I also feel twice as much worry and nervousness. Even just looking at my own face, I can tell how much has changed since we filmed. But thankfully, our film itself evokes nostalgia, and since it’s not set in the present day, the passage of time actually fits well with the story.

Q. In what ways are Jeongah from the film and actress Won Jinah similar or different?

We’re both very curious. Whether it’s food or exercise, I can’t rest until I’ve tried something new. Jeongah is the same—when she’s curious about something, she roams around with wide, inquisitive eyes. She also doesn’t hesitate. If there’s something she wants to know, she goes straight for it without hesitation. That part of her is similar to me. But unlike Jeongah, I don’t have a lot of secrets. I’m actually full of TMI. (laughs)

Q. What has been sparking your curiosity the most these days?

Rather than finding fun new things to try, I’m trying to develop a liking for things I previously didn’t enjoy. I’ve been feeling like I’m too addicted to dopamine, so I’m making an effort to engage with content that makes me slow down and reflect. The books I mentioned earlier are part of that, and I’ve also started reading newspapers.

Q. In a past interview, you mentioned that you plan to endure your acting career with resilience and wit. Does that resolution still hold?

Yes. Whether it’s gaining knowledge, learning how to swim, or exercising during breaks, it all comes from the thought that these things might come in handy when I take on a new role. Exercising is also something I do out of necessity—if I get injured while filming, it delays production. I don’t want that to happen, so I make it a priority.

Q. I heard that you spent last year filming the drama Eye Shopping.

Watching action actors, I always wondered, ‘When will I get a chance like that?’ and eagerly awaited the day. But when I finally got to do action scenes, I realised just how tough it is. It made me think about how hard everyone else has worked in action roles.

Q. Hearing you talk, it’s clear that you put your whole heart into everything you do. That makes me curious—what is it like when Won Jinah falls in love?

If I see something in a person that I admire, I get completely drawn to it and develop a huge crush. I think, ‘How does that person like something like that? I want to learn too,’ or ‘This person has such a great quality—I wish I could absorb that into myself.’ When it comes to books or food, I like things that introduce me to a world I didn’t know about. I’m attracted to people who spark my curiosity about new worlds.

Former friends and schoolmates might have tried to dissuade you time and time again to leave him, pitying you for spending your youth making ends meet and watching over your comatose mother-in-law, Jinah, and now your own baby.

But you don’t need their ‘advice’ when it all basically boiled down to having you leave your family because you ‘deserved better.’

They are already what’s best for you.

Solo Leveling Novel Rambles Chapter 25-28 (chapter 11 part 1(?) of the original)

Okay, why was the spoon scene excluded? I definitely would have liked to see that happen in the manhwa. A lot of Sung Jinwoo's personality seems to be lost in the manhwa

So if a guild can't maintain the minimum number, it will be disbanded. Isn't that number three? It might be different in the novel, and I just haven't gotten there yet, but three doesn't seem like a hard number to keep

Oh, so Yoo Jinho's brother is 31 while Jinho is 22. You know who else could be 31? CHOI JONG-IN-Sorry, off-topic

Jinho's expressions are quite different from the manhwa. Both are good, just different

It's nice they went into more detail about how the 30 billion won building worked. I was confused about that in the novel since I wasn't familiar with the concept

It's also good to see what rank Yoo Jinho thought Jinwoo was. Apparently, he assumed Jinwoo was a B-rank or higher, so Jinwoo getting stronger at this point wasn't that big of a deal to him

The novel really goes into Jinwoo's thought process. While it's nice to see it in novel form, it makes sense why they took it out in the manhwa (Okay, but Jinwoo, stop giving the poor child a heart attack-)

Oh, the run with Jinah didn't happen? I guess it makes sense, but I thought it was a nice bonding moment for them. Until Jinwoo ran off on his own at least-

The novel also goes into detail about the blessed versus the cured random box too. I don't remember if the manhwa mentioned it, but I think it just glazed over it

Not saying Jinwoo in the manhwa is dumb, but he seems smarter in the novel

You came into the world like a wildfire— unsuspecting, quick and deadly. The moment you took your first breath, your mother took her last. This instance, though tragic, led you to form a deep bond with your father. It became you and him against the world in a single moment, and that mentality grew as you became older.

You were five when you and your father moved to New York. Your father had wanted to get a fresh start, to abandon the home that contained your mother’s memories and lingering essence, and you trailed after him like always. He wasn’t rich by any means, but he saved enough money to open up SOLAR MECHANICS, a family-owned mechanics shop that would later double as a temporary repair shop/safe haven for defective replicants.

You spent your childhood running around the shop and observing the way your father repaired all sorts of vehicles and replicants. Your father often told you that you’d inherit the shop once he was gone, and that knowledge helped enhance your natural curiosity. When you became old enough, you began working as an apprentice under your father’s tutelage. You picked up the tricks of the trade through his steady teaching, and you found yourself in love with the art of repairing items. You thought you’d be content with this life, that your father and your family’s shop was everything you needed, but then tragedy struck four years ago and it shifted your life trajectory forever.

You were helping your father close up one night when the two of you heard a crashing sound from outside the shop. Your father told you to hide while he checked it out, and though you protested the order, you found yourself ducking behind one of the cars you were set to repair. You had hoped that the noise was just a stray animal looking for food, but when a gunshot echoed across the empty shop, you realized it was more serious than you imagined. You raced out of your hiding spot, but it was too late. Your father was dying before you, and all you saw was a glimpse of the intruder as they ran away into the night.

The shop felt empty without your dad— like the soul and life of the place disappeared the moment he drew his last breath. The night replayed in your mind for months as you settled into your role as owner, but even as time went on and business continued to grow, the desire for answers and revenge settled in your heart. This need for vengeance led you to become a vigilante in an attempt to find the person who murdered your father.

During your time as a vigilante, you became more informed about the various underground organizations that occupied New York. One organization, THE WHITE WRAITHS, stood out to you the most. You didn’t know why, but you felt like they were connected to your father’s death. You paid extra attention to any news related to the organization, sabotaged any firearm shipments you caught wind of, and worked to identify the different members in the hopes of uncovering your father’s killer. You became known as the masked vigilante WRAITH— a shadow who looms over The White Wraith's operations and puts a stop to their deeds. Tarnak (Iron Body monarch) / Jinwoo Headcanons.

-Tarnak stays beside Jinwoo at all times

-Tarnak has a thing for Jinwoo’s when he is in his shadow armour (for example when he fought with Antares)

-Jinwoo bends metal with his bare hands.

-Tarnak had a tantrum because Jinwoo wasn’t taking him with into the dungeon.

-A complete princess when he is in the dungeon. Because what do you mean I have to get my hands dirty???

-Tried to dance with Jinwoo. Was successful

-They both love to play games. Just differently.

-Tarnak knows a lot of human languages as well as all languages in the world of chaos. Works as a part time translator because of this.

-Tarnak was giving Jinwoo side eyes every time Jinwoo dressed all black.

-“I know that this is your signature theme and all but still…” iron body monarch said while giving Jinwoo judgmental glances. Specifically at his clothes.

-Has a beef with Bellion because of that.

-“His majesty looks gorgeous in any clothes.” “I agree but the specific clothes that matched him would be even BETTER!”

-Tarnak is actually INCREDIBLE possessive of Jinwoo. His body if to be exact. Don’t you even DARE to even lay your dirty finger on Jinwoo’s body. But if you’re talking than it’s ok. Ask him for something more personal and Tarnak isn’t going to even notice that you said anything. BUT DONT YOU DARE ACTUALLY DO IT-!

-Tarnak has a social media where he roasts every possible hunter he sees. Except for Jinwoo. He knows Jinho is going to snitch on him if he ever says a bad word about Jinwoo.

-Iron Body monarch refuses to step a foot in Jinwoo’s old apartment.

-Doesn’t actually mind his family. Thinks that they are pathetic but Jinwoo’s mother won him over by her cooking.

-Tarnak gifted Jinwoo a raven. Jinwoo doesn’t know where he got that from.

-Jinwoo likes to make Tarnak as miserable as possible.

"i don't know if he meant like a bathroom stall or if there actually are—" there's a blinding twinkle in her eye, "have you heard anything? should we go look?"
