watching married to the game out of curiosity (lost 3 brain cells but anyway) and i just realised that the gods gave me the wrong life and job because if i were a WAG i'd be front row at every match insulting rival teams and posting indirects at referees on IG i'd be on the newspapers every day and the world would be so entertained about it

It's Women's FA Cup Final matchday! United Women are set to take on Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley today.
The Reds are bidding to go one better than last season's showpiece event, when we were narrowly defeated by Chelsea in front of a crowd of 77,390.
Having beaten Emma Hayes's side in the semi-final - and Newcastle United, Southampton and Brighton & Hove Albion in the earlier rounds - United are ready to play at a sold-out national stadium for the second year in a row.
Let's bring the trophy home, girls! COME ON UNITED!!! 🔴⚪⚫

Match Review: Manchester United Women 4-0 Tottenham Hotspur Women
We're the famous Man United and we're going to Wembley. WEMBLEYYYY WEMBLEYYY...
Tumblr media
Ah, what a day out this was. Yours truly was up in the gods at Wembley to see United women win their first ever trophy - and what might be the only Manchester United trophy win at Wembley in my lifetime at this rate... 👀
Tumblr media
The first half was a nervy affair, with both sides playing steady and cautious, but United are the better side on paper and were the favourites, and slowly but surely they began to push up the pitch into their favoured high line positioning and dictate the play.
Tumblr media
Spurs had a couple of counter attack chances, with one big save from Mary Earps, but it was mostly United's half - albeit with missed chance after missed chance. Typically, with a few minutes left in the first half and nothing happening, I went to the loo and then the bar. Cue Ella Toone hitting an absolute thunderfuck shot into the top corner. SCENES. LIMBS. PANDEMONIUM. All while queuing for a coke. Classic.
Tumblr media
The second half was where I expected a bit of managerial tinkering and encouragement. Leah Galton went off early for Melvine Malard (later LG was pictured on crutches) and the floodgates opened.
A 54th minute free kick from deep by captain Katie Zelem saw curving, lofted cross into old reliable Rachel Williams and a header down into the bottom corner. Three minutes later, Spurs keeper Becky Spencer had a moment of madness and passed an easy ball directly into the path of Lucia Garcia who doesn't miss at that range and made it 3-0.
Wembley was bouncing at this point and we're all getting a bit silly in the United end, but Beth England hitting the bar shortly after reminded us that Tottenham weren't entirely out of the contest just yet. Plus, had Grace Clinton not been cup tied... this game could have been a lot different.
That said, Spurs should have been well out of it. Naalsund missed a sitter in the first half, and Malard missed two breaks with a little bit of indecisiveness - maybe rusty? - which left her and fellow sub Nikita Parris both scratching their heads how we hadn't scored.
Naalsund would make amends in the 74th minute with a break from deep into the Spurs box, bringing the ball down for Lucia Garcia to punt home her second and United's fourth to seal the win and the team's first ever trophy.
Tumblr media
First trophy? Tick.
A rare United win at Wembley? Tick.
Lads, it's Tottenham.
