SIFTMedia215 Affiliate Member, Le Anne Lindsay

I am not a filmmaker. Although, if I had followed my heart I would have become a film editor. I know people say it’s never too late…  At any rate, I was invited to learn more about SIFTMedia 215 (Sisters in Film and Television) by one of its founding members, Nadine Patterson of Hip Cinema. I love what these women stand for, have accomplished and will accomplish, so I became an Affiliate Member, to help, promote, support, archive, learn and hopefully assist on film shoots!

Each member has her own page (bio/films) listed on the SIFT site, but I’m also cataloging updates of what the members are working on, screening, being awarded etc… below, as I receive info and notifications.  These are just a few members highlighted. MORE TO COME…

Who are we?

SIFTMedia 215 is a support system of several independent media artists who work in the Philadelphia metropolitan area and provide a community of support for socially conscious women identified filmmakers. Our goal at SIFTMedia is to amplify the work and create opportunities for Black and Latinx Women content creators.

Starring & shot by Misha McCullagh Written, directed & edited by Cat MacLeod The End is a collaborative drama game in which the story is handed from Scottish female filmmaker to Scottish female filmmaker. Everyone ‘nominated’ is the showrunner for their episode, which means they can pick up on an earlier episode or start a brand new storyline. They can write/act/direct entirely themselves, or they can ask anyone they like to collaborate with them. Nothing needs to be approved — the only rule is that it can’t undermine or negate story that has come before — so every showrunner has total creative ownership. It's a seven-day event dedicated to womxn filmmakers and other underrepresented voices in the industry - with the mission to inspire change and uplift womxn creators and storytellers.
