Women of Vibha
Vibha is known for its core educational support for underprivileged students and for helping them overcome various barriers. An NGO that has served people across India, it is truly significant. A delightful hour spent celebrating our women in Vibha. The thoughts of our volunteers like Deep, Jyoti, and Scotlin who shared their stories of what it means to work as a social warrior. On Women’s Day, several women volunteers came together and gave a helping hand to Vibha in creating change for underprivileged children.
The challenges they faced and the strength they found to overcome them and keep going were inspirational, to say the least. The pleasure of hosting the Women’s Day celebration at Vibha was an experience of warmth and values they have to offer the world, many volunteers sent in videos and hosted a panel of Women Warriors that worked relentlessly in many remote areas of India to make a difference in the lives of so many! Vibhav’s aim has always been- Education for all, is truly appreciating and inspiring. Seeing children with so much courage, happiness, and love, filled our hearts with joy.
A women’s day that took a beautiful turn of exploring ourselves as social warriors for an NGO like Vibha. Deep shared about walking 8 hours a day through the mountains of Nepal and accessing the communities that are served, and how the reward was just the smiles she saw on kids’ faces. One of the volunteers also spoke about how she wants her gravestone to read- “She made a difference!“ It made me wanna quit everything and go join her. It was stirring, gripping, and heartrending. All three women who spoke today were single, and have dedicated their lives to the betterment of the communities they live in.
They all came upon their line of work almost accidentally and fell in love with it and are now throwing their hearts and souls into it. Most importantly, when they spoke about their personal challenges, they showed us their vulnerabilities and how they overcame them. And that seemed to me, the bravest thing ever. Women’s Day at Vibha was about carving out the women’s true selves and how a woman plays almost thousands of roles and excels in each of them.
Every woman at Vibha volunteers helps and contributes with a vision to see the happy faces of all children and see them developing into successful human beings. Women’s Day at Vibha was one of the most unique events wherein women discovered their whole new role of being compassionate angels. Women across the USA and India have come together in this mission to overcome the barriers for children. We interviewed several women and heard inspiring stories of their experiences and bravery which set an example for Vibha’s team and children. This day was not only for celebrating women but also enlightening every woman to unleash a new role they can play in society.
