Chapter 6: Rude Awakenings

Sunrise following the Day of the Dead celebration brings changing relationships, new challenges, and some much-needed conversations for Elsa.

Here's the start. ------------------

Consciousness returned slowly.

On some level Elsa knew she was safe; she hadn't jerked awake.

Something wasn't right, though. She'd slept in her clothes, and felt cold and stiff. Her back ached and her head... wasn't too bad, actually. From the general feeling of light and warmth on her face, she was pretty sure she'd regret opening her eyes; she peeled one open anyway, only to squeeze it shut again. She was not ready for sunlight.

She tried again, more slowly this time, sitting upright and pulling her blanket tighter around her shoulders before blinking down at her body. Where had this blanket come from? As she tried to slow her breathing and rubbed the sleep off of her eyes, memories returned. The Day of The Dead celebrations, drinking and telling stories, the...

Shit.

Elsa whipped around to find Jack slumbering peacefully, cuddled up against her. They'd fallen asleep out here in the forest, together.

A mix of mortification and mild frustration rippled through her. It wasn't that she'd expected Jack to try anything when she was drunk and asleep – and she took comfort in knowing her instincts about men were sharper these days – but, unless her memory was failing her, he'd also been a perfect gentleman throughout the slightly tipsy stage of her evening when she'd definitely have been open to more.

She sighed. “Goddamnit, Jack. You really are one of the good ones, aren't you?”

He stirred and she was confronted by the very real prospect of his waking up next to her. Mild panic set in: that was not something she was prepared to deal with.

Un lobo (Elsa) siempre cuida a su loba (Jack) 🐺🐺🐺

Literal 🤣

Amo que WBN es una historia de hombres lobos, pero el hombre lobo en cuestion es sumamente sensible, amable, respetuoso y tiene una masculinidad super sana. Siento que el arquetipo es que el lobo sea abrasivo y trate de imponerse sobre su pareja, pero Jack y Elsa tienen una relación de pares en la pelicula y casi todo el fanfic tambien los caracteriza de esa manera.

De hecho (y esto es un poco menos análisis feminista meta textual y mas escribir el fanfic mas cringe posible porque es divertido) En un ano nuevo hablamos de escribir un Omegaverse AU con @onbearfeet y @caseydoodle, y lo primero en lo que coincidimos fue que Elsa es la alpha del duo, obviamente 🫣

Despues la conversacionales se desvirtuó mal y nos fuimos al pasto (no voy a afirmar ni negar que alguien halla dicho las palabras “Jack Russell is submissive and breedable” ) pero en nuestra defensa eran como las seis de la manana y todos estabamos levemente alegres
