Late Night: Ethan x Billy

"Oi! Ethan! Sit down and take load off after a hard day. This tankard has your name on it my friend-" Billy said, cheer in his gruff voice. It was later at night since the kitchen did keep weird hours but he was feeling a little lonely and thought it would be nice to spend some time with his pack mate and friend.

He wasn't the type to protest when given instructions, he knew how to follow orders to the letter. He wouldn't have had the ranking he used to in Egrain otherwise. So, together with other wolves younger than him, he made his way to the kitchen with their supply of wood. The other wolves left as soon as they arrived and left the wood on the floor but Orion had to stay and make sure someone received the items and maybe even help them be moved somewhere else.

"Hello?" He greeted someone he saw walk past. "Yes, you. I'm Orion, I bring wood." He says to the person who had stopped walking past once addressed. He could see him well. "I'm new around here, you know how things can be for the new guy. Do you need help moving them somewhere else, I take it?" He asks the unnamed man.

He was on children's duty today. That meant that he would have lunch with them and that also meant paying more attention to the kids than to his own meal, sometimes he skipped eating altogether which his daughter didn’t like. Athena was a very responsible young girl, he was proud of her, and if it weren’t for her he would be doing a whole lot of things wrong just because it was easier but she didn’t let him so he had come up with solutions for it. He tried to eat fast instead during children's duty to get some food into himself or, some other times, he waited to eat after lunch so while he ate a little later he still ate. Given how he sometimes skipped breakfast, he couldn’t always skip lunch as well and he didn’t want Athena to worry about him. It should be his duty as the father to worry about her instead.

He needed to arrange the meals for the kids today. He had a list of things some kids would absolutely refuse to eat in his hand and walked towards the kitchen to speak to the cooks. He entered the building and looked around, spotting a kitchen hand he had seen several times before, he went straight to him. Ethan was his name if he wasn’t mistaken and given how he managed many kids a day, he was good at remembering one’s names by now.

“Hey, I’m here for the children's lunch for the day? Just making sure everything is in order before we bring them over in an hour,” Euclides greets and tells him once he’s been addressed, a smile on his face. “I have a list from our picky eaters if that helps,” he adds tilting his head a bit with a certain curiosity. He had seen the man and maybe even talked to him once or twice before but couldn’t actually remember. He has been in Athos for so long that it happened, one forgot things and it was normal. “My name is Euclides, you’ll often see me with a 12-year-old shadowing me everywhere I go,” he says in greetings.

The builder had seen the wolf around plenty of times over the past couple of years, and they always seemed to both take part in the fishing competitions whenever they could - though Lysander often preferred to go by himself - but this was the first time that he found himself like this with Ethan. The least he expected was having an alpha of all kinds of people catch him in a towel. He had the cabin to himself, the one he shared with the other omegas, and while he usually didn't mind changing in front of them changing in front of an alpha was the biggest no of his life.

Relaxing was never in Ronyn's definition, since his brother's passing he did not know what it was like to relax and what it was like to have fun. So the celebration forced him to do that. He sat and rested his back on a three as a certain alpha sat and rested between him. He looked down trying not to give them a smile but failing greatly. "No..Shut up. You did not make me smile nor laugh at all," he spoke with a small smile on his face as his hands explored the other's body slowly before moving to kiss Ethan before pulling away. "Excuse me, sorry...." were the apologies that slipped out of Victor's mouth as he began to make his way through the crowd, holding a basket full of vegetables that had been plucked from the fields. He knew that the cooks would need all of the crops they could get their hands on to be able to accommodate for the amount of feasting that was going on during the celebration, and Victor was more than happy to help out. After all, he had only been in Athos for a month and so he didn't think the festivities were for him.

It was why he volunteered his help whenever possible, picking up barrels of drink and fetching whatever necessary for those that were still working while most people were celebrating. Making his way through the crowd of people, he stopped just in front of a large pot that one of the cooks was brewing a stew in. "I... uh...I wasn't sure what kind of vegetables you wanted, sir, but I grabbed as large a variety as I could... Hopefully you can make good use of them."

The juxtaposition of his shy, timid nature did go with his stature of six and a half feet talk, as he knew that most would expect him to be so self-assured and confident. But that just wasn't Victor. "If you need me too, though, I can run and get more... It won't be a problem, I promise."

Was Ronyn worried? He was, for the man who could not feel emotions and was numb but for some reason he was scared out of his mind. He had left Ethan to check on his siblings earlier before the fire broke out. When he saw the fire, his heart was filled with thread and fear for two people he cared for so much in the world that he never realized until now. He needed to find to find the male, he could not help himself. He had tried his best to help put out the fire after making sure the twins were safe. After the fire was out he looked every for Ethan, heart beating fast until he found the other.

Seeing them, made him feel relied and happy. He did not understand why, maybe he died but a part of himself refused to feel yet but right now showed him that maybe he was indeed able to feel. "Ethan!" he shouted as he pulled the other into a hug and held them tight not wanting to let go.

It was a little bit late, Ronyn had gotten back not too long ago. He had made sure that the twins had eaten and were all set. They had told him stories about their day, all the fun they as he tucked them to bed. Ronyn smiled, leaving the cabin as he let out a sigh and ran his hands through his hair before taking a seat. The wolf had forgotten to eat, his focus making sure the hunt was a good one and the twins that all that mattered to him and himself came last.

Ronyn sat and was lost in thought until he lifted his head when he smelled something good and saw a certain wolf who he always tried to bring the best hunts for their cooking. "Hello, I am surprise to see you out here. I would guess you will be in the cabin or Tavern or something. Also that smells good, what do you have there?" @wolfcooked

Billy would've chuckled to know he wasn't a negative influence. It would amuse him to no end for a variety of reasons- mainly dealing with why he'd left Egrain. Or been told to leave. But he was the kind of kitchen wolf that was mated to his work more than another. It pleased him greatly to serve and to create and the fresh sounds and smells of the kitchen did bring him a certain pleasant joy.

"Aye but I'm always cleaning something. If you weren't drinking while I cleaned, you'd never get to a'tall-" Billy said with that shark grin of his on his face. "It was a very pleasant look I'm sure. Especially if you're into Alpha backsides considering how deep in the pot I had to get at certain points-" he chuckled.

Billy tilted his head a little and made a 'hmm' noise. It did please him a little that Ethan liked his scent. More than a little but again, he wasn't pushy about that sort of thing.

"Aye. That's good to know. I know I don't seem it to all but it's just nice to smell nice. To be wanted a bit. Even if I am a dirty rogue of a wolf in my own way."

"Now, now-" Billy teased Ethan a bit and nudged him just a little with a shoulder. "I can't go and be indiscriminate about what bard I let flatter me or I'd never get anything done. Enough omegas get a whiff of me and suddenly there's no lamb leg coming out of the kitchen-" he said with a wink towards the other.

Billy wouldn't admit it but he was a little bit of a sucker for Ethan. He didn't know what it was about him- maybe it was the way he laughed or that wonderful beard but he wanted to be around him more than some of the other kitchen staff.

He wasn't a very introspective wolf though, so he wasn't gonna think about it too hard. Just let it be what it was until it was something else.

"Eh. I had some bits I had to get out of the big pot at the bottom. So like five minutes-" he said with a shrug. "Just enough time to get through the last of the honey apple tankard we needed to kill off anyways." Of course, seeing as how the big pot was approximately half his size and at least as big around, that was saying something.

Billy put his arm around Ethan's shoulders. "Living the best life I can think of, my friend. The very best! I have a question for you. And this is fairly intimate. How do I smell? Do I smell nice? Because I had a bard tell me I did and I was like- is it me you smell or the venison I made earlier?" he asked with a smile.
