remains to be one of the beautiful anomalies on this album. which genius had the idea to put acid jazz on a BTS album? give them a prize tbh. the song is about feeling like a relationship has you frozen out in space and it just has such a beautiful, otherworldly feel to it. i also never get that damn title track number right but whatever.

kingdom come - red velvet

harmony stacks go kinda crazy... the peak of the 2018 80s synth revival in kpop... the yearning... the snare just kinda bumping at the bottom... WOMEN! one of their best albums without question and zero skips. zero!!

honey - solar

the transitions in and out of the chorus for this are amazing, and then you have solar's floaty vocals just carrying you through it and tickling your brain a bit. immaculate tbh. mamamoo are so severely underrated ughhhh both as a group and in their solo work imo.

r u ridin' - baekhyun

this is such an ode to 2000s rnb... down to the texted-from-a-nokia-while-booty-calling-u title. perfectly produced and executed, SM literally never misses with songs i fear. i'm forever mad they used this for intros for his actual singles that got pushed at this time when it is. such a good song on its own. baekhyun being the company favourite from exo for a REASON !

dandelion - jaehyun

wow a song that's actually from the last 3 years!! let's get this out of the way jaehyun is like incredibly hot, and worse, he's also incredibly funny which is terrible news for me personally. that said i really enjoyed his solo album and thought it was very cohesive and played on what SM does best which is taking 2000s rnb and making it new again. i'm always amazed at how talented artists like jaehyun are when you strip away the rest of nct and break down the big lego house (which is not to say i dislike nct like, far from it. just that it's such a crazy set up with soooo much intentionally noisy production you forget how insanely talented they are individually)

igloo - kiss of life

listen this is not an under-the-radar release by any means but. kiss of life are having a MOMENT and i'm here for it! they're kiiiind of an heir to mamamoo while still doing their own thing? also tho, you know how people say how tinashe is the blueprint to most of current kpop. that's a correct take. cus this could literally be a tinashe b-side and that is huge props to tinashe for being the source and the sauce. how did i end up talking about tinashe? anyway. this is the kind of song you blast from your nissan gt-r at 9pm on a friday with the girls.

the music video was GOOD!! the song, the styling, the dancing!! but most of all, the editing??? truly fucking amazing????? 👀💖

Omg this is aging me my first intro to kpop was when I heard Atlantis Princess (BoA is such a queen 😍) when I was 15-16 a few months after it was released in 2003. I'd occasionally listen to SM stuff after that through the years, but it wasn't until NCT debuted that I really got into kpop.

I'm jealous you've gotten to see 127 😭 their last US tour was so messed up and I ended up having work things I couldn't get time off from whenever they were here. I too would probably yell at Johnny to marry me 😂

Jihyo and Lisa omg the taste! They're my favorites from their respective groups too! I'm also super impressed by do many of the newer groups that have been debuting. I'm an SM group stan for the most part, but omg some of these newer groups are soooooo good!

It's funny bc for kpop I'm mostly on Twitter and recently I've seen a few people I follow also talk about F1 so the pipeline is going crazy right now 😂

127 were spectacular live i’m ngl. it was peak SM just in terms of their professional polish, the coordination, the slick production… it was so so different to BTS but had the same excitement and huge passion from the group! also the moment johnny went shirtless for a dance break, I just about died and ascended to heaven

the gen 4 groups are scary honestly… new jeans in particular are so impressive and only in their second year or something? it’s a stretch but the something something oscar piastri parallels loool
