Welcoming the New Moon in Scorpio | 18 Nov, 2017

Another new moon means yet another chance for us to set intentions so that we may manifest our heart’s and soul’s desires for the forthcoming cycle. A nice way to do this is to have a good think about what it is you wish to invite into your sphere, which directions you’d like your path to take, what you would like to heal, which outcomes would benefit your soul’s journey?

Please note that i’m not writing from the perspective of an astrologer but that of an empathic psychic medium who sees, feels, knows through various psychic gifts known as ‘clairs’ (clairsentience, audience etc) with a touch of witchery.

November is a time of year when leaves are falling, the skies are darkening and the landscape is preparing for winter. It’s a season of shedding and preparation for the renewal that will follow with the coming spring. It’s about making space for new energies, experiences and opportunities to reward us. In the same way, this is reflected within our inner landscapes as we, too, are encouraged to take nature’s lead by working through the natural cycles which exist. Following the recent full moon, we purged and released many things which no longer belonged in our lives; a kind of putting the past to rest and leaving it there. We are now in a lunar phase where the energy is very strong and encouraging of us bringing new ideas and planting seeds that will grow. Allow yourself to bring abundance to you and much healing.

Those on the twin flame path can look at shadow aspects you’ve been facing, healing and releasing over the past few months, You can ask for such things as clarity, understanding, knowledge to find you so that you may journey forth with confidence and a greater sense of autonomy. This is NOT a time to ask for your twin flame to return to you, as that would be considered to be a form of spiritual bypassing whereby you are manipulating the situation using moon magick plus it would be deemed as avoiding your inner work regarding healing your core wounds. This is about YOU and your path. By all means, set an intention to send unconditional love to your twin flame counterpart but do not interfere with their lessons or healing. Divine timing and a lot of work on oneself by both parties will achieve the desired results.

But what rituals should I do?

There is no right or wrong here, only personal preference. Below, i’ve collated a basic list of moon magick rituals I sometimes employ during this lunar phase. Please bear in mind that this is only a brief guide, therefore feel free to create some of your own rituals. Go with what feels right for you and what resonates with your heart and soul.

Cleanse:

you can cleanse your auric field and your space before any ritual. This can be as simple as burning white sage (clears negative energy), Palo Santo or various other resins. I tend to smudge my space and my aura whilst setting the intention of cleansing and purifying. This is an instant feel-good practice.

Light:

All of my psychic and spiritual work is done with candle light. I burn a white candle on my altar (which is currently a beautifully engraved metal tray), and I invite my guides and guardian angels to be present (plus I find that candles create a beautiful warming and glowing energy). Fire is a great cleanser and I find that it helps with releasing the intentions into the cosmos.

Write:

On small pieces of paper, no more than 10, I write down my intentions. This is done when the new moon is as close to 100% as possible (because i’m pedantic). This can be done at any point during the day/evening of the new moon.

Burn:

Usually during the dark night’s sky, I will sit outside with my candle and my mini cauldron and I will say an incantation/prayer of gratitude honoring the moon goddess energy and I recite my intentions one by one. After I have read one intention, I light it by the flame of my candle and I then place it into my mini cauldron so that it may burn. I repeat this with each intention.

To complete my ceremony (once all paper has burned), I sit in meditation for 10 minutes and then I close by thanking my spiritual team for their assistance, I recall all of my energies back to me and I return any energies that are not mine back to whence they came. I say another incantation of gratitude and I send love, peace and blessings out into the world.

You don’t have to follow these methods strictly, so please use them as a guideline and a springboard for your own interpretations.
