Today a cashier referred to me to as a sir twice ok 😒. You better believe I said something. He went on to explain that he only saw the side of me,which means he made an assumption. I thought to myself how did he miss this banging ass fat body,but fuck what I have on right!!We all can and should be able to wear what we want and our clothing nor our physical anatomy shouldn’t determine our gender or sexuality. Don’t assume just ask. - I’m a Taurus and this was a teaching moment Bih....so I gave him a quick lesson on gendered language and not assuming someone’s gender identity by what they look like or their body anatomy. He finally apologized. I mean finally 👏🏾😒 - The reality is society openly recognizes and accommodates my identity as a cis woman without question. - Transgender+non-binary+intersexed Folx still have to fight to be recognized for how they identify. I want to send all of y’all love like a MF,this one experience reminded of how dismissive,offensive,hurtful and disempowering it can be for someone to misidentify you. - We need to acknowledge their gender identities and fully accept them as they are,not the way we want them to be,the way that make us most comfy,or the way that books say we should 😒 uhhh ISSA No. Compassion and love bitch!!!! This is allowing Folx to be who they truly are. Love is not making folx hide so you feel better....uhhh no bitch. Love is not telling Folx something is wrong or broken in them because of how they identify and who they love uhhhh Issa no bitch. Love is what are your pronouns bitch!!!! - Lastly,miss me with that my beliefs shit. If your beliefs allow you to think it’s ok to dehumanize people....trash em asap!!! The way we are socialized + programmed gets us in a habit of being comfy with making other’s truth our own without even questioning that shit. We just follow what our parents say,what leaders say,what the media says,whatever teachers say,whatever the books say without really analyzing that shit. - We cling to belief systems that dehumanize us and the people we love, even when that same belief system won’t acknowledge our identities, our sexuality, who we love, or see us as equals because of our gender, race, or beliefs. - We become controllable and we lose our power.Sitting here looking towards the sky for someone to come down and save us. - Hell we sometimes even diminish who we are and feel guilty for the life we are living, because of those beliefs. - When we cling to that truth our lives begin slowly becoming a reflection of the truth we have been told. - I have lived my own life like this and I know this ain’t freedom.
