#this is the uhh our father prayer typed from memory#got a few interesting archaisms and stuff you dont hear very often#like “powszedniego” is “daily” but the modern word for that is “codzienny”#with powszedni having shifted in meaning from “daily” to “common/ordinary” (to be more precise it means “(smth) found everywhere” literally#“wódź” is also a very very old way of saying “lead (us)” which today sounds like “prowadź”#it is also one letter off from the word Chief (wódz) (though “szef” is used more often and wódz is now mostly used in context of old wars)#also a different bit from english is “jak i my odpuszczamy naszym winowajcom”#which instead of “as we forgive those who trespass against us”#means more something like “just like we forgive our culprits/perpetrators”#with winowajca being a very general term just meaning “someone who did something bad” but not specifically against us#it's not even really “forgive” because “odpuścić” means “to let go of” where the “forgiveness of guilt” is implied rather than said smh#text-wall looking ass these tags goddamn#post anesthetics posts
