Beatrix Russell's insights
Beatrix Russell, I'm sure most Fallout New Vegas players know her, but when was the last time y''ad a proper conversation with her? I should also say we ay gonna be analysing 'er recruitment into the Wrangler's employment 'ere or her sexual side (mostly, it'll come up a bit).
Beatrix's Advice
Beatrix offers a lot of insights into Freeside and also offers a few bits of advice. We'll start wi' those for structure all of these responses come from saying 'Got any advice to share?' I'll be honest wi' ya, the 'these are reffrence to X' I'm gonna be sayin' is jus' Wiki information. But I'll also provide me opinions on the quotes.
"Feed a man for free, and he'll be back asking for more. Feed a man a bullet. You won't hear from him again."
That's certainly true, and pretty applicable in the Wasteland, I s'pose.
"Good, bad... The guy with the gun makes the rules."
That's a reference to the movie Army of Darkness and the line 'Good...bad...I'm the guy with the gun.' and, apparently, that's also something John Browning said possibly? Reportedly, anyway. Still, also applicable in the Wasteland (and, if we go metaphorical, applicable to most authority). Personally, I think 'good' isn't applicable when anyone makes rules with the authority of 'gun'.
"Time you enjoy wasting isn't wasted time."
This is an adaption of the quote 'The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time.' by Bertrand Russell. The wiki points out the fact that they're both B. Russells, which is pretty curious. The quote itself I agree with (naturally, I mean, why else would I be doin' this? Hahahaa.) and is probably important to consider as someone as old as Beatrix.
"The only thing I know for certain is that I don't know nothing."
That's a pretty famous one, even wi'out the Wiki tellin' me I know that's Socrates accordin' t' Plato. Let's not get too deep into this 'un. Unlike the last two I see no particular relevance to Wasteland life and, quite frankly, this isn't even advice, Beatrix.
"Longing makes the heart grow fonder, but I've always been a fan of hog-tying my lovers to make sure they can't escape."
I'm sure that's advice to people who're into that sorta thing, but I'm very much not the target audience for it (bein' a proud aroace repulsed at the very idea of engaging personally in such acts). Still, maybe someone over the years has gotten into BDSM because the Ghoul Cowgirl who's name rhymes with 'dominatrix' an' good for that 'ypothetical person.
So, in review, some advice that makes sense in the Wasteland, some philosophy and a bit of oversharing that I s'pose could work as foreshadowing of her future profession in a lot of playthroughs. Let's get t' the juicy stuff now, the reason I decided t' make this.
Beatrix's on the History Freeside
Yes, this is the excitin' part. We'll start wi' the start 'Tell me about Freeside.'
"What starts in misery tends to stay there. Freeside wasn't Freeside until six or seven years ago. That's when Mr. House's robots rolled out of the Lucky 38 and started pushing everyone who wouldn't join him off the Strip. Lots of folks died. Some scattered to the winds. The rest wound up in Freeside and seem never to lose the habit of living like refugees."
Things like this, it puts it all into perspective Freeside, The Strip, Hell even Westside and North Vegas Square am all recent developments. The walls an' divisions aren't even 10 years old. Robert Edwin House created modern New Vegas through violence. We have no idea how many people were killed by it, what 'a lot' means here, but think about it this way: there's a good chance that everywhere on The Strip that ain't the Lucky 38 were all inhabited by people who were either killed or displaced by House less than 10 years prior to the game. That is t' say The Tops, Gomorrah, The Ultra-Luxe, the NCR Embassy an' Military Police HQ and even Michael Angelo's Workshop all were potential homes to people who's lives are now lost to time.
There were people already in Freeside, the buildings and streets not claimed by House, that's why you'll meet many people who are 'Freeside Locals' and have been far longer than 7 years, but as Beatrix said, Freeside as we know it wasn't the Freeside before House. None of the three families lived in those casinos (the Boot-Riders weren't even stationary before becoming The Chairmen). The place was created in an act of miserable violence by House.
Beatrix's Views of Factions
Now for faction opinions. After hearing Beatrix's statements about Freeside's violent and very recent founding we can ask 'What about The Kings?'
"What about them? Pretty much the sort of gang you'd find anywhere else, just with better clothes. The King himself, though? He's got that something special you can't put a finger on. Too bad he likes girls with skin."
I'm not 100% sure if Beatrix knows that last part or presumes it, regardless she overall has a rather cynical view on The Kings as 'just another gang'. An', y'know, while they do have points over a lot of nastier gangs, I'm gonna guess 'Gang as de facto government' is a very common arrangement throughout the entire Wasteland. The Kings isn't the worst bunch in the world and The King is a flawed idealist, but its worst tendencies, encouraged by Pacer and its other more nationalistic and violent members certainly makes them not as clean as I'm sure many see 'em. Still, the gimmick is fun (I bet Beatrix even knows who Elvis is).
'What do you think of the NCR?'
"I reckon they care about getting water and electricity from the dam, and that's where it ends. The locals here are just an inconvenience to them, something to step over or stomp down. They're here for the resources, plain and simple."
Beatrix is correct. Here's a link to Colonel James Hsu sayin' as much an' gettin' called an imperialist bastard by me due to it.
'What's your opinion of Mr. House?'
"Before or after the human race shot itself in the foot? I been around long enough to have both opinions, see. Before the war, Mr. House was a famous captain of industry - robotics, to be specific. Seemed charming in interviews, until he became a recluse. Since the war, though? Didn't make a peep for near two hundred years - but when he came back, he came back strong and killed a lot of people."
Some stuff we already knew there. Unlike Raul, Beatrix is 100% convinced and aware about House bein' House. Beatrix don't actually say her opinion on modern House, but the implication in the way she highlighted that he killed a lot of people 7-8 years ago says all that needs t' be said. She also revealed that House preparing for the War was noticed by the public.
'What do you think of the Followers of the Apocalypse?'
"I don't know how they do it. They're like saints, those Followers. If they didn't charge for their services, I'd think they was crazy. But no, they're just naive. Warms your heart."
Beatrix is a bit of a cynical person, as one would expect from someone who saw the War, saw the next 200 years, saw Mr House's rise and is aware of the intentions of the NCR. So, it's nice to see her have a bit of fondness for the Followers even if she sees them as naïve.
'What do you know about the Van Graffs?'
"A couple of Radscorpions, those two. Gloria is the stable one, but she'd slit your throat if there's a profit in it. Or rather she'd tell her brother to do it for her. Jean Baptiste is one of the sicker humans I've had the displeasure of observing."
Hmm, pretty comprehensive view. Wonder if she ever did any work for the Van Graffs from this view. Prob'ly not, actually, I'm gonna guess she just means she's seen Jean-Baptiste bein' a monster, been in the Silver Rush or maybe she knew the original inhabitants of the Silver Rush who the Van Graffs did a Mr House to. The only other time she uses the term 'observing' there am some sexual undertones, but I reckon that's not 'er intent 'ere.
Conclusion
So, that was Beatrix's insights Freeside, Various Factions and... life, I guess. Some interestin' stuff, I think. An' 'opefully me own provided thoughts an' commentary 'as been int'restin'.

Nico remaining a catholic while being the son of the lord of hell (and the greek equivalent of Paradise) is just the epitome of irony for me.
That's why I propose the following prompt:
Some random homophobic: y'all are going to hell for your sin!
Percy and Nico share a look before bursting out laughing.
Percy: Been there, done that, bud. A little dark but welcoming when you know the owner of the place.
Nico: Actually got a room for me in a palace there, can't say the same for you tho.
"Why are we here again?" Percy asked as he squirmed uncomfortably. The church parishioners seemed to all be looking at them.
"Because it's my mother's death anniversary," he reminded him. "And for some reason, you decided to accompany me to mass instead of staying home."
"I wanted to support you, Ni," he said. It was the first time he could do something as Nico's boyfriend and not just as his friend. "I just didn't know this was an hour-long thing."
Behind them, an elderly lady shushed them. Nico turned and apologized in a hush.
The rest of the mass went by. Nico distressingly left him to have some white, thin food put in his mouth and come back to kneel. Percy couldn't say he understood, but he imitated Nico as well as he could.
He could see a man in his forties looking at them suspiciously.
Eventually, the priest named Nico's mother when talking about praying for the departed, and soon after the mass was over. Nico took his hand and led him out.
"I think mamma went to heaven," he said softly. "That's why I could never summon her."
Percy looked at him. So that was why he attended mass for her and not Bianca. Nico knew where his sister had gone after death, but Maria di Angelo was another story.
"It was a nice ceremony," he whispered, not knowing what else to say. "I didn't understand half of it, but it was beautiful."
Nico smiled and squeezed his hand.
"That couldn't have been easy for you. Staying still all that time and not understanding why people did things," Nico told him once they were outside. "But thanks for being respectful and... for being there for me."
Percy smiled and kissed him on the cheek.
"If it's important to you, of course I'll be there," he said. "So, that white wafer—"
"I knew it," someone said behind them. They both turned to see the same man that had been glaring at Percy during mass. "Don't you know your kind is not welcome here?"
Percy paled. Had he done something wrong? Was he embarrassing Nico in some way?
"What do you mean our kind?" Nico asked venomously.
"Perverts," he clarified, looking at them in distaste. "People like you shouldn't desecrate the house of our Lord."
Percy blinked.
Oh, so he hadn't done anything wrong during the mass. The guy was just a homophobe.
He let out a sigh of relief.
"I thought Jesus invited everyone to come to him, even sinners," Nico answered with a raised eyebrow.
"If they repent," the man said. "Only hell awaits those like you."
And Nico turned to look at him, raising an eyebrow. Percy stared back.
They both laughed.
"S-sorry dude, but I know for a fact that I won't go there," he said as the man turned redder and redder from anger. "The guy in charge kind of likes me. I have my own room in a palace waiting for me."
"That's sacrilege!"
Percy shrugged.
"I mean, down there is a little cold and drafty, but it's not as bad, and the dead don't feel the cold," Percy added. "If anything, I can say it's not the worst thing that could happen."
"You, though? I doubt you might get more than oblivion," Nico continued. "You're not God's brave defender. You're barely God's anything."
"You—"
"You're worth nothing, and you'll die alone and bitter," Nico said in his son of Hades voice. The man turned white as a sheet. "We're leaving, Percy."
The man stayed quiet as Nico walked ahead of Percy, their hands still linked, until they reached a Starbucks.
"Order anything you like," he said. "My treat, as thanks for going with me."
They didn't talk about that man, and Percy realized it was because he mattered so little to Nico.
"Why go to mass, if you know you're going to the Greek Underworld?" He asked once they were seated. Nico smiled sheepishly.
"It makes me feel closer to my mother," Nico admitted. "I feel like she's with me then."
Percy smiled and kissed his boyfriend, not caring who saw.
"I'm sure she is, Nico."

Here's something else that need to be pointed out in my Dutch apologist series.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media
this is going to be a really long post so please bear with me.
Some of the things I'll be sharing are a little personal but as personal as they may come off to be they are very general detailed compared to the very deep wounded personal details I can go into.
So there was a post on here that I shared on my page that thoroughly went into detail against dutch. Which sparked my interest in creating a series to shed real light on Dutch personality his motives his rights and his wrongs.
And under that post I came across this particular comment. I set the record straight with this person and I believe since then I have been blocked by said person. Because the thing that we need to clearly debunk here is Dutch being a narcissist. I feel like people are using that word way too loosely especially in the case of dutch. People who believe Dutch is a narcissist have never suffered under the psychological gaslighting tormenting abuse of a narcissist.
This person claiming to be a therapist has accused Dutch like many others of being a narcissist and even worse a sociopath. I'm going to go into all the reasons why Dutch is not a narcissist in a moment.
You see how this person used their therapeutic license to use as a means in order to get no pushback of accusing Dutch of being a narcissist. Because the therapist said he's a narcissist one will fill that they have no need to debate this person and challenge this person.
But here's the thing as a proud Aquarius woman tactics like that do not work on us. We don't give a good God damn about your license or your credentials if we find holes in any Source material you are presenting to us we will pick that should have part clean piece by piece Brick by Brick until we get to the source of what we need to get to the source of.
I don't know how long ago this response was made on the original post that I had shared earlier but I took the novelty of responding to it because I am in this space where after being a fan of this game since it released back in 2018 I'm finally ready to come out of my shell and share my peace on how I feel about the game as a whole but first I want to deal with Dutch because he is one of my ultimate favorites and he is one of the main ones I see being criticized more than anyone. So I am forced to come and shed light on the things that I personally see as a fan. One thing when you're dealing with an Aquarius we deal with nothing but facts.
While people have created interesting blogs and rants about Dutch and his condition and why he does what he has done they're missing the key elements of certain things that I'm trying to fill in. Hence the Angelo Bronte post I put up instead of people using that as a means of saying he went mad I shared another light about what got Angelo Bronte killed.
But let's get back to this therapist. Like I said I don't know how long that comment was up but I'm pretty sure they weren't banking on anyone ever challenging it. The worst thing that could have happened is someone like me happening across it.
I will most certainly challenges because like I said I don't care about you being a therapist if you are a therapist and you diagnose Dutch as a narcissist then I'm going to have to question your license to practice as a therapist. I guess no one is perfect and we all make mistakes. But I literally accused this person of being a liar. Yes I did. I should have shared my own screenshots maybe I'll screenshot what I told this person and add it to this so you guys can see I think I'll do that.
But yet I flat out laughed and said stop lying. And I went on to say that anybody who thinks that Dutch is a narcissist have never suffered under the psychological torment of a narcissist. My daughters fathers ex-girlfriend who happens to be the mother of my daughter's older sibling is a narcissist if I ever did see one. I was young and naive back in those days and I was easily trusting of people.
For anyone who knows me I come from a very very large family I'm the youngest of several children and when I mean several I'm talking a lot of brothers and sisters I have over 10 brothers and sisters I come from a very big family. On my mother's side I'm the youngest of over 70 grandchildren.
So naturally I am a very family-oriented woman.
So I engaged in a friendship with this girl especially with our children being siblings I've always been the bigger person you know. I don't try to hold on to grudges and what not. But the shit this girl would put me through the tension that we would go through because she still wasn't over the father of our children.
I tolerated a lot of shit from her because I wanted my daughter to at least have one of her siblings from her father in her life. But I knew this woman was secretly jealous of me and I was dumb enough to tolerate and put up with it when people told me to leave her alone because people want me about how crazy she is. I used to party with her I used to get drunk and let's just say one night when I got drunk I was violated by her. That's the nicest way I can put it.
Here's another thing I need to point out concerning my daughter. My daughter was a very clingy baby. If she didn't know you and you picked her up she would cry and scream until you put her down. She was just timid of strangers until she got to know you and warmed up to you. My daughter never got to that stage with this woman that should have been my cue to run but like I said I was young and naive back in those days.
Every time my daughter was around this woman she did nothing but cry and mind you my daughter was almost close to a year old before I eventually stopped fucking with this lady. She was just very nasty to me and I tolerated it because I feel like a part of me was projecting because one of my younger siblings I feel like I wasn't there for them the way I needed them to be there. So I sort of projected that one to those children wanting them to have that relationship I mean I'm not completely wrong but I shouldn't have projected. I should have listened to a mother's instinct my daughter never took to this girl all she did was cry around her. My daughter never did that with anyone else. This is why people calling Dutch a narcissists can never come for me with that shit because they don't know what I went through with narcissistic abuse with quite a few people especially this chick I'm telling y'all about. She's several years older than me she went to school with a couple of my cousins and my siblings. And the stories they told me about her good lord.
The things that she used to do to me because I needed a favor from her is absolutely disgusting. It was a time in my life where I was really lost and did not know how to stand up for myself I'm no longer such person. Life circumstances have taught me how to stand up for myself and to be a stronger advocate for me. I don't mind sharing these stories because you live in you learn and some people may be in a situation similar to me and don't know how to get out of it. But I'm sharing this story to make a point I know a narcissist like the back of my fucking hand because I've dealt with several of them. And like I was in assaulted by one. A female narcissist at that.
So this therapist claiming that they knew from jump that Dutch was a narcissist especially with him pointing out that he created a father-son relationship between Arthur and John is absolutely ridiculous.
If this person's still so strongly about how they felt they should have been confident enough to challenge my opinion against theirs. But instead I got blocked after confronting. They didn't give not one response they just simply blocked me.
Let me tell you something coming from a large family and having many siblings. A lot of my brothers or sisters are a lot older than me. Most of them are old enough to be my mother or father. Out of all the siblings I'm only close in age with what almost two of them? I have a sister that's 10 years older than me and to this day I look at her like she is a mother figure to me. 10 years is a really big age gap. By the time I was 10 my sister of course was 20 years old she had her own job she was in college and she took care of our family especially after my father died. So she in a way serve as a parental guide With Me growing up.
According to how you're fucked up logic is set up I guess that makes my sister a narc? Haha
When you aren't in such situations someone like this therapist will judge and claim that they see alarm bells. I called every bluff this person made but I got blocked. You see when you call somebody out on their bullshit and you see through their bullshit they run. If anything this person pulled the narcissist move. Not calling them a narcissist but it's the irony of them running when challenged.
Honey you cannot insult an Aquarius or play mind games with us because if you knew anything about that zodiac sign everything with us is dealing with the mind.
Somehow alarm bells went off in your head when it came to Dutch but not when it came to Micah? That's quite interesting. I guess that's another post or should I go on about how I find that strange. This is what I'm talking about I want Dutch apologist to pay very deep attention to something here. Have you noticed the main people that criticize Dutch are the main people that never bring up Micah or always the ones giving him the benefit of the doubt are always trying to look the point of blame that everyone else other than Micah being a huge beneficiary of what happened to the van der Linde gang?
Interesting how you all bring up Dutch y'all have blogs against Dutch y'all talk shit about Dutch.
But people like Micah who's a racist who's a rapist who's a child murderer even his old partner cleat said he had to get away from him because of what he did to that kid or whatever it is that Micah did.
This is exactly why I am hoping I'm hoping to God that Rockstar when they do start the works on Red Dead Redemption 3 it is solely send her around Dutch he needs to be the protagonist. It's not even a want anymore he has to be the next protagonist in The Red Dead Redemption installment. Because there's things that need to be cleared up with this we don't have the full piece of the puzzle. Red Dead Redemption 2 only talks about the 20-year history. We need to play through it. Red Dead Redemption shows Dutch is mad. Red Dead Redemption 2 shows you why he became the way he became. Red Dead Redemption 3 needs to show him front and center as the protagonist and show him in the golden years and in the golden times of the wild wild west. Dutch van der Linde and his heart and soul is the wild wild west. Taking Dutch out of the Wild Wild West is literally like taking a fish out of water. Inspecting him to evolve into something else. This is why he said he couldn't fight his nature. Dutch thrive in the wild wild west because Dutch is the Wild Wild West that's why you can't sit there and tell me that his Persona this entire time was fake.
But nope. He's been a fraud this whole time. Even though none of the people saying the shit they have said about him could ever make logical sense while saying so. I guess we're supposed to listen to you because you're the therapist right because you said so? Because he's a narcissist because you said so? You thought crying about being a family therapist nobody would give you rebuttal.
Another thing with this whole thing that should make people wake up concerning Dutch being a narcissist or not. If Dutch was a narcissist he would have not been able to bond with his horse (The Count) the way he did. Do people know how spiritually empathic horses are? Do people even realize how sentinent and empathetic horses are? You want to talk about fooling someone you can't fool a horse into trusting you. They know exactly who you are and what your intentions are with them the minute they look at you. Even when you get the ones that don't want to be bothered with you well we all have a personality some just don't want to fuck with you but other than that when they speak about the bond that Dutch in The Count had you're not going to sit there and tell me he was a narcissist because one thing about narcissist is is that they are incapable of love. Unless y'all want to say he was faking his love for everybody in his life this entire time just for to have this moment of just going crazy in the first Red Dead Redemption game. Because we know how y'all love making shit up as you go along. I guess his war against Colm O'Driscoll who killed his Annabelle was about just himself and serving his ego too even though in the cut scene when he confronts Colm we see how raw that pain is from losing Annabelle even before he reached there when he was at Camp telling them that Colm O'Driscoll took away a woman that he loved very dearly. That's not how a narcissist move or operate. And again when it comes to animals narcissists don't bond well with animals because animals can sense and see things that we can't. Especially an animal like a cat and a horse. Cats and horses have the same spiritual senses they're on the same empathic wavelength that's why when you go on farms where do you see Cats mainly hanging out at on farms? In a barnyard with horses. Because they carry the same empathic spiritual vibrational markers.
Arthur brought up how the count had bucked him off one time. That's another thing that horse wouldn't let anybody else ride him but Dutch.
Let me tell y'all another story that happened to me concerning my baby father's baby mother. One time when I was living in my old home town my water pipes wasn't working and the showers would not turn on. And I had no way of washing up and washing and doing my hair. So I called and asked her if I could use her shower and what not to clean myself up a bit. Don't even get me started on how she was beating around the bush for me to even come over her house. That's another thing about narcissist they love a person that needs them and they love you begging them to do something for them. When I begin to keep sharing stories about how narcissists really are people will begin to really see how it is highly impossible that what's wrong with Dutch is narcissism.
When I finally get there she has three dogs now. One of the dogs for some reason do not like me. And she tried the tease and say look at how she's looking at you this dog was nasty anyway. But two of the dogs always stood around me and protected me. When I used her shower one of the dogs stood right next to that shower and would not leave until I came out of that bathroom. This dog was always around me and protecting me from something. Probably her crazy ass and his mate. Often people will say if the dog is growling at you then that means that you're a nasty person who can't be trusted. But let me put you on game real quick I'm going to give you all some secrets.
If you know deep down inside you are a good person and you wouldn't cause anybody any harm especially the person you're hanging around with and they have a pet that just don't like you and it's just nasty to you. Let that be a indicator that the person that you're friends with may not like you the way you think they do. They secretly is an enemy against you. A frenemy. How people's animals react to you especially in an aggressive way especially if you known this person for a long time and this animal is still nasty to you understand animals act off of their emotions sometimes based off of how their owners feel about you. Dog owners everywhere who have a secret Vendetta against a person and is being a fake friend behind their back are going to hate this post. Because that's exactly what her female pitbull would do to me.
Plus being a spiritual woman I've had plenty of dreams and spiritual downloads on not to trust this woman anyway. But the thing with empath we try to give people a chance even at our own detriment.
Now y'all see why people cannot play and fuck with my intelligence. I can read people and I can read things very deeply. One thing with air signs Gemini, Aquarius, and Libras we know how to read a situation. Because we're air signs air signs rule communication We Rule the mind and we rule the intellect.
I knew this person was going to block me that's why I took screenshots when I did. That's another thing about air signs we are the queens of keeping receipts. 🤣🤣🤣
That's another thing about me I'd like to point out is that I used to be in the new age Community I've done tarot card readings picture readings you name it. I worked with Crystal therapy the whole nine yards. Been there done that. And no I don't pretend to be an expert. I'm just speaking with my experience just like this therapist have using their credentials to say that Dutch is a narcissist but the problem with that is I can easily point out holes in that proclamation. Me as a spiritualist let's see if you can do that but you can't cuz you block me so moving along.😊
And no I'm Not tooting my own horn I have to point that out because people who are not confident in themselves will be triggered by confident people.
They will always look at it as a negative because that's their only way to cope with their own failures they don't want to face deep down inside. Being that I've came out of the new age there's something that you can do is Shadow work to help heal those triggers and those insecure markers. And I still got insecurities we all do you know. But I'm going to stand confident on what I know I am confident in. And that is having great debates. At least those are one of the many things I pride myself in humbly.
Well I came along to challenge what you had to say cuz I'm not afraid to speak and call a spade a spade just because somebody got a label or a PhD I don't give a fuck if you're the president of the United States if I see something wrong or flawed or fucked up in what you're trying to say especially if you're trying to take it home selling that shit oh you best believe I'm coming for the throat of your opinion.
I am a proud Dutch apologist and those who hate him I am your worst nightmare come to reality. Because I'm not afraid to challenge your opinions and I'm not afraid for you to challenge Minds because I know a majority of you can't. Between Reddit Facebook YouTube and now on my Tumblr I've had so many people block me I have had so many people argue. None of them none of the people that I have went up against in a battle concerning this situation have been able to knock me down. I'm confident in this debate concerning Red Dead redemption.
But a weak person and a person who's insecure will take my confidence as being cocky my confidence as being a narcissist or in my ego or prideful. This is why I don't hang around with insecure people . Does this saying my aunt told me don't be friends with insecure people because they're going to be in constant competition with you they're going to feel threatened by your confidence by your bravery and buy how you hold your head up high. Most people do not love themselves if you told a stranger or a person with insecurities that you love yourself it bothers and triggers them because most people do not love themselves. And let me tell you something I didn't get the way I got overnight. I had to go through life lessons being around people who were cut throats like Micah Bell for example. Wisdom comes with experience.
So with all this being said y'all going to look pretty foolish accusing Dutch of being a narcissist when most of you don't even know what a narcissist is or suffered in under any level of abuse from them. Y'all just love using words and labels too Loosely nowadays because most of you are not evolved most of you are in a one-dimensional mindset most of you do not know how to critically think. I'm the generation that had to look through and Scottish through encyclopedias and go to the library and actually do real studies and research. I didn't have the privilege of google. That's why I'm able to thoroughly dissect investigate and look through things the way I do. It ain't that I got too much time on my hands that sentence have never made sense to me to be quite honest. I make time for what I'm passionate about so. All I'm doing is throwing my two cents in like everyone else. If you feel some type of way about what I'm saying it's just because your opinion on the matter feels threatened that's all.
Take this post for what you want to love it hate it it is what it is. And to those who are showing me love and support giving hearts re-sharing my post I really appreciate it.

Things I would change about the Mafia Trilogy
The Mafia trilogy is one of my all time favorite game series of all time, but if I could change anything about the game, this is what I would change
Mafia Definitive Edition
I would basically add in the ability to extort shops and take over and build on rackets like in The Godfather games.
Fast Travel by train/tram cars like in the original game
Keep in the Knuckles Duster
Keep in Yellow Pete
The ability to go on dates with Sarah, show a sex scene and show Tommy and Sarah's marriage and actually give names and show Tommy with his kids. I just feel like not enough was shown.
Show more of the Salieri-Morello war. I feel like not enough was shown. Sure we killed Sergio and Ghillotti and eventually Morello himself. But we never got to see the full scale war. It felt small. So my proposal see the Morello family hitting the bar and eventually Tommy, Paulie and Sam hit them back. The mission would end with Tommy, Sam and Paulie wacking Lou and Dino and torching Morello’s bar to the ground. I think this is something that should have happened cause we never got to see Lou and Dino again after the second mission and I think it would be Tommy properly paying them back for trying to kill him.
Show us Tommy Angelo's testimony against the Salieri Crime Family. Make it like the Goodfellas trial scene
Mafia 2
There is an entire cache of cut content that shows us a better game we almost got, but I'll just share a select few.
Respect & Reputation. In the beta version of the game players would experience Empire Bay differently based on the level of respect Vito gained from completing missions.
Monique. Vito's cut girlfriend that Vito could take out on dates
Fast travel via Taxi before you get made and via Limo after you get made
Gun License
Fight Club and Hound/Horse races
Side missions doing jobs for Derek, Harry and Mike
Keep in the cut content suggesting that Henry would be revealed being set up and not a rat. My two pieces of evidence. Evidence 1. Evidence 2. Also it was originally intended to have Henry be framed.
Mafia 3
Keep in the cut prologue
Replace Cassandra with Laveau or Lincoln rules the Black Mob. I feel like Cassandra had promise, but her execution was terrible and she just ended up becoming unlikable. Cassandra is hypocritical, self-righteous and endangers the people she claims to protect. She gives all this talk about protecting black people, but she endangers them the most and pretty much made New Bordeaux a ghost town in her ending. As for why Laveau? Laveau is a man of principals and honor. Black revolutionary and Black Panthers vibe. Plus the fact that Lee Everett himself voices him makes me like him all the more. I'm not sure how Laveau's ending would go, most likely New Bordeaux would've been turned into a safe haven for black people, something like that. I also like to think he could voice his own ending and say "Remember, when New Bordeaux speaks, you better listen." I feel like if Laveau was one of the underbosses, then I actually would feel conflict about choosing who to run New Bordeaux instead of just always choosing Vito. Or the simple solution is for Lincoln to recruit the survivors of the Black Mob and rule the Hollow by himself and further cements his rule by rebuilding Sammy's.
Make Agent Maguire apart of the story. My pitch is that he is on the hunt and would be leading the feds against Marcano and Lincoln respectfully. At some point, I don't know what mission, but Maguire has Lincoln right where he wants him, but chooses to let him go and his reasons were that Lincoln was the only one who did a damn thing against Marcano and thought letting him go was best for New Bordeaux as a young and foolish agent. In the documentary portion of the game, he later reveals he was wrong. It was so weird that this random FBI Agent had such a hard on for Lincoln when they never even crossed paths, so Maguire feeling guilt about letting Lincoln go would work imo
Give Lincoln a crew. Simply put advancing with Vito, Burke and Laveau or the Black Mob would give Lincoln individual crew members from The Movement/Black Mob, Italian and Irish Mobs. You can send them to accomplish the list of shit you need to do, fight with you and even send them to collect the collectibles in the district.
The ability to divide up the Bayou to give to your Underbosses. A way we could add in more earn for the Underbosses is to add in rackets in the Bayou. Enough for all 3 Underbosses
Use Signs Of The Times, Faster Baby and No Stone Unturned locations as territory to give your Underbosses. You'd be giving Sinclair Parish, the Sanitarium and the Island to your Underbosses. By doing this and the Bayou, you should have enough to give your Underbosses enough earn to unlock their perks if you are looking to keep everyone loyal and unlock everything
Cancelled Vito DLC makes it in. Not sure what the specifics of this cut DLC were or could've been, but most likely we would've found out Joe is still alive, maybe find out that Eddie was the one who was killed instead of Joe and maybe Vito would see Frankie again. Maybe it could've ended with Vito getting Joe free from Leo and killing Frank Vinci since that was cut from Mafia II. And at the end, perhaps Joe could tell Vito that Lincoln is his son and thanks his old friend for looking out for him.

Tumblr media
Ch 2 - The Tag Along "Well that's a friendly looking… kitty you've got there." you say trying to cut the tension that you can feel raising within the air between you. His reply slightly shock's you "breathy chuckles You must be (y/n)." you tilt your head slightly as your name leaves his lips. "Hmm, that's too good for a guess…", you say as you take in his appearance, now noticing the cane that he's leisurely leaning against. He interrupts before you can think further "My name is V, I'm here with Dante and the others. He mentioned that I would probably run into you." He chuckles lightly to himself recalling what Dante had said about you I should go ahead and warn you V, there's another demon hunter named (y/n) who I know that has a past with Vergil, it would best if she never finds out that he is involved with any of this Upon hearing V's explanation, you relax a little bit and place your swords in their holders on your back. "Well that's a relief, I though I was going to have to kill you… and your… pets", you say while taking a peek at the bird and jaguar that are backing away before they disappear out of sight. V takes a breath and exhales as he starts to walk past you in the direction of the Qliohoth standing high within the sky. Standing there you look at the back of his head as he is walking away, sigh "I'm going to go off of a hunch and just assume he want's me to tag along" you grumble to yourself. Jogging to catch up with him, you match his stride once you're by his side. "So, any idea where all of this is coming from? I'm very curious to see who or what has caused enough mayhem for a Qliphoth to grow here of all places" you say while staring at it peeking through the clouds above the sky. V's ears perk up at your mention of the tree of death and steals a glance at your facial expression. "What do you know about the Qliphoth?" he asks. You reply "I know that its the tree of death, demons feed it blood to nourish it in hopes that they get a bite of the fruit it bears, if they are strong enough to survive long enough to get it that is." you say as you look back up at him, catching his glance. "Hmm, that's it" he hums in agreement…
The two of you continue walking for a bit, occasionally running into small groups of demons here and there. Finally feeling like you're catching a break form all of the fighting you stop at this slightly secluded are and lean against the wall to rest your feet for a brief moment. V looks at you taking in the fact that he is also a little drained from what you both have endured and decides to take a seat not too far from where you are now slowly sliding down the wall with a groan of relief. "You don't have to wait up for me, I'll only be a second." you say as you stretch you neck in various directions and rotate your feet until you feel the blood flowing back in them properly. You start to take a deep breath in and just as you go to exhale, you feel a searing pain through your left side that causes you to scream out in agony. Looking down at the source of the pain you see that a dark broadsword is wedged deep into the wall and about 3 inches of the side of the sword is siting in between some of your ribs. Looking at the sword in shock, you quickly glance up to see a Proto Angelo walking in your direction with 4 other Scudo Angelo not far behind it. You go to lean away from the sword so that you can apply pressure to you now bleeding wound. While you are raising your hand to try to go for a throwing knife on your belt, you see that black jaguar lunge out of the ground in front of the Proto Angelo and then you see a flash of white.

thread by Angelo Carusone (@GoAngelo on twitter)
Tumblr media
1/ Given all the recent revelations about Fox News' internal machinations from the Dominion filings, I'd like to give a sense of just how delicate this moment is for Fox.. I'll start with advertisers, then talk about cable agreements and close with likely cascading litigation
2/ Advertisers. Fox News is already suffering with advertisers quite a bit. Yea, they have MyPillow and vegetable pill sponsors. But, overall, advertising isn'tas robust as it could be -- especially for prime time. For ex, Fox is currently Fox News' 4th biggest advertiser. Weird
3/ For the most part though, the really big and beloved brands largely eschew Fox. That said, pharmaceutical companies heavily advertise on Fox and then it's companies like @GM and @LibertyMutual that are largely left funding Fox partisan deceptions.
4/ By now though, most people know that advertising revenue is really just gravy on top for Fox. They could have $0 in ad revenue and they'd still have a 90% profit margin. That's because they have guaranteed revenue from cable companies.
5/ Every cable company pays a fee to channels to carry them - it's called a carriage fee. It's usual a nominal fee though. Not for Fox News. Fox News is the second most expensive channel on every one's cable bill (ESPN is #1). And that is by design.
6/ About 10 years ago, Fox News set out to leverage their rabid audience and insulate themselves from pressures of the ad industry. I won't get into how they did it. But short of it is, they lied and bullied their way into getting cable companies to massively overpay for Fox Ne
7/ Why's this matter? Well, Fox News has to renegotiate about 60% of all their cable contracts over the next year. And they not only need to keep their currently inflated rate, they need to actually increase it by quite a bit to offset the ad losses.
8/ These Dominion revelations are going to make it a lot harder for their efforts to be successful. There are ~90M cable subscribers. 87M who never touch Fox News are forced to basically pay a premium channel fee for it -- and now Fox wants more. Very winnable consumer fight.
9/ You all saw how effective these efforts were at getting cable companies to rethink their relationships with OAN and Newsman. It can absolutely happen with Fox. Want more? You can sign up at https://unfoxmycablebox.com
10/ There actually hasn't been renewals to really fight about yet, but they are coming. And in fact, the people that signed up at UnFox got an email back in December and helped ensure that Fox lost its very first carriage fight in its history. More on horizon.
11/ Lastly, these Dominion revelations expose Fox/Murdochs to additional liability. Make no mistake, Shareholders will file lawsuits in the coming months. I have already seen about half a dozen firms post noticed looking for clients to file such lawsuits.
12/ The effects on the Murdochs/Fox will cascade. But only if consumers act and ensure that Fox isn't about to force through massive increases in carriage fees and if media/others treat Fox like political operation that it is and not prop up veneer that it's a news network.
13/ Posting an update because the cascade is starting. The efforts to formalize legal action by shareholders is ramping up.

Mᴇᴇᴛ ᴛʜᴇ OC: Aɪᴋᴏ
I'll add a few facts about Aiko below the cut, I'll try to keep things short, but I usually end up rambling about things
TW: mentions of blood, murder and alcohol use
Aiko's a moody person, gets irritated easily, can be possessive, very insecure and paranoid at times
She struggles to understand what's right and wrong, she can't go out without carrying a knife with her in her purse (she gets very ancious being outside without it).
Specially when talking to someone new she has a very hard time letting hef guard down. She doesn't trust people easily and more likely than not she will be rude to the person, even if she does try to keep her appearances as a good person (mostly to her neighbors and family).
She needs money and she'll do literally anything she can to get it, from babysitting, to walking dogs to sex work and murder. She usually do odd jobs all the time, since she never managed to hold a job for too long.
Aiko had a twin sister called Ayako (Aya, for short) and a little brother called Angelo.
They lost their parents when the twins were 3 and Angelo was only 6 months old. They lived with their aunt Bianca for some time before being sent to foster care. They kept being sent back and forth between different institutions, mostly because of how much trouble Aiko would get into and, since Aiko was so attached to her siblings it would be ideal if they all were adopted together. That didn't work, though and the institution found a family for Angelo when he was 7. The twins weren't so lucky, though.
Aiko isn't a healthy person to be around. She's not trust worthy and will lie to you and use you for her own benefit. Though, truth be told she also struggles to trust people herself, sometimes even if she's close to them.
She wants to be spoiled and she doesn't care what she needs to do to get the life she wants. She doesn't mind getting in relationships to get someone to give her nice things (Yes, she would love to be a sugar baby).
If she gets too anxious about something, she'll probably try to drown those feelings down with alcohol, this woman have a very big problem with that, actually, which usually doesn't work or make her do stupid things while drunk. If that fails to ease her worries, or calm her down in any way, though, she'll most likely become episodic. At this state she becomes very aggressive, doesn't really think straight and might hurt anyone who approaches her or tries to stop her, be it someone she cares about or not. Depending on the reason that triggered her episode she might go after the thing (or person) who made her feel like that to "get rid of the problem".
She's fascinated with blood. Ever since she was a kid her brain always saw it as red paint (Due to traumatic situations, that was some way her infant brain found to cope with what she witnessed) and she does go out to "hunt" people and paing usually walls with her vitim's blood (what she paints can vary, though). Aiko usually paints roses and other plants or some other images, depending on how she's feeling. If she's having a really bad episode, though, she doesn't get to relax enough to paint, she sometimes just go after another vitim, usually getting herself in an even bigger trouble.
Aiko doesn't see what she does as something wrong and she doesn't feel guilty about it at all, since she doesn't know any of the people she hunts or even, when she does know, they're probably someone she hates or who have hurt here (if she's not having an episode), her words about it are: "If people are allowed to hunt animals for fun, why can't I hunt humans?"
She is aware that she can go to jail because of it if she gets caught, that's why she keeps it a secret from her family and anyone she meets, unless she trusts this person completely (and know they wouldn't have a problem with that), but she doesn't see that as something wrong, hence why she doesn't really feel guilty about it.
She is very loyal to those who manage to get to her inner circle of friends and she'll protect them as much as she can, even though she struggles a lot with empathy.
She has abandonment issues and is terrified of being alone (for the rest of her life, she does need alone time most of the time, but she needs to know she can count on someone), even though she hates being around people she doesn't known (mostly because she feels unsafe)
She is an attention whore and will do anything in her power to get the attention she wants.
At 18 she got released from the foster care, got a house to live at and adopted a black kitten, naming him Carbon who lives with her ever since.
Around the same time she has met a friend called Hiraliths (Or, how she usually calls him, Demro) who eventually started being more and more part of her life

Comic Sonic Super Study 8
In Sonic the Hedgehog 23, somehow, Sonic and Robotnik are forced to team up for the second time in four issues.
Tumblr media
Now, admittedly, there is, shall we say, an apocalyptic tonal shift between this issue, and the last time we saw Sonic and Robotnik. Y'know. When Robotnik's creations started laying waste to all of Mobius, in order to destroy the entire planet, and Robotnik was talking down to Sonic.
It's like reading two different books at this point.
Anyway, I guess the real point is that Archie beat Sega to the punch twice, now.
Tumblr media
Y'know, I've never understood the fascination Sonic adaptations have with adapting the rings, as well. They're just a health system, but it's been the comics, the 90's cartoons, Sonic X, and the movies, and they always make the rings into something way bigger than they are.
I don't have a problem with it, mind you; I just think it's odd.
Like, I get that you wanna include stuff from the games, but still. Maybe it's just me, but I know that if I did a Sonic story, it wouldn't even occur to me.
Back to the comic at hand, here we have what I would consider a semi-bearable "Coward Antoine" story. Interestingly enough, this comes from Angelo DeCesare, who previously wrote the story back in issue (I have this on my computer) where Antoine was perfectly brave, and took down Robotnik with nothing but a hot air balloon, and sacks of... wait... explosives? Knothole has explosives? Where did Antoine get those explosives from, and how has it taken me this long to question this?
The basis of this story is that Antoine must venture into Robotropolis to find the backpack with the power ring that Tails accidentally left deep in enemy territory. And despite his fear, Antoine does just that. Upon hearing about this, Bunnie takes off after him to keep him safe. For instance, she stops some Swat Bots from climbing up a ladder and ambushing him
Tumblr media
And when Antoine decides against walking on top of a tube on top of a vat of toxic waste, he crawls inside as well. Unbeknownst to him, Robotnik and Snively are barreling toward him in an aircraft, where Robotnik delivers this memorable line.
Tumblr media
Even though it feels like reading two different books, I love how ridiculously #Evil this Robotnik can be. He goes on to say,
Tumblr media
Oh dear, they're about to crash into the tube Antoine's in and kill him. But then!
Tumblr media
The clear implication being that it was Bunnie who saved Antoine again.
Remember when I talked about the Freedom Fighters being allowed to be competent? Yeah. I'm a Sonic fan, sure, but I like it when the others are allowed to have some spotlight.
So, Antoine returns to the Great Forest, and gives Tails back his backpack, for which Tails is immensely grateful, and asks him to keep it their little secret that he made this mistake in the first place. Then, we close out the comic with this panel,
Tumblr media
Showing that Antoine is not an idiot. Bless DeCesare for carrying Antoine's credibility on his back, even when he's forced to write him as a coward.
But, looking at this last panel especially, I'm struck by the fact that... I have no problem with romance between the characters who aren't from the games. I think my main problem with the Sonic and Sally romance is Sonic. Really, it's the fact that Sonic is one of the game characters.
However, that's it for now. Come back next time, when I'll be looking at the Princess Sally miniseries! All three issues of it, in fact.

Incoming Text for @priyankachopra :
Hey Priyanka,
Fun fact—I was born in Somalia in 1981 but spent my early childhood in Pune, India. At the age of three, I was sent there for kindergarten and stayed for the first ten years of my life. I spoke the Indian language, I picked up Hindi and learned English during my time in Pune, specifically at Pinewoods International High School & Junior College in Panchgani, Maharashtra. It's a boarding school run by the Mahatma Laxmanji Arya Educational Public Charitable Trust, established in 1986 and accredited by various educational boards.
Click on this link: https://www.mypaathshala.in/school/pinewoods-international-high-school-junior-college/
If you ever get the chance, you should contact them. Maybe they'll even have photos of me and my little brother from back then! They used to teach us Karate lessons in the schoolyard on Sundays—a memory I cherish deeply. Pune and Panchgani hold a special place in my heart for those formative years.
I repeat, I said call them:
If you ever get the chance, you should contact Pinewoods International High School & Junior College in Panchgani. Ask them to show you the records of Somali children who studied there in the 80s. Who knows, maybe you'll find some information and, with luck, even a few pictures!
Here are pictures of the Sydney point in Panchgani, take a look, click on the link:
https://www.tripadvisor.in/Attraction_Review-g297653-d3726656-Reviews-Sydney_Point-Panchgani_Satara_District_Maharashtra.html
I have more memories to share! As a kid, our school teachers used to take us on walks in a long line, all of us trailing behind them, to a mountain Sydney Point in Panchgani. It was our chance to breathe in some fresh air and take in the beautiful surroundings.
Another interesting tidbit I remember is when there was a movie shoot in Panchgani. It was Bollywood actor Govinda filming scenes for a new movie. I was quite young at the time, so I don't recall the movie itself, but I'll never forget Govinda's name and seeing a movie being made in those scenic Panchgani mountains.
Being at a boarding school, I have countless fond memories from my childhood there. Panchgani holds a special place in my heart for all those fun times.
Speaking of songs and music from my childhood, "Jooma Chumma De De" by Amitabh Bachchan was a big hit back in 1992 when I was in Bombay, India. I remember singing along to that catchy tune—it was quite popular at the time.
Around that same period, Michael Jackson's album "Dangerous" was released, and one of the memorable music videos was "Black or White." It made quite an impact on me.
Those were definitely vibrant times in the Indian music scene!
Here's another fun fact: Guess where I watched the movie 'Coming to America' with Eddie Murphy when it was released in theaters in 1988? It was in Bombay! I was 7 years old at the time and I still remember that day vividly, like it was yesterday. Pune and Panchgani were filled with such memorable experiences during my formative years.
Alright, I'm off to catch some sleep now. I'm feeling tired.
Angelo.
P.S.:
Here is another Fun Fact: The timeline of my life:
1981 born in Mogadishu, Somalia.
1983 lived in Saudi-Arabia.
1985 lived in India, Pune, Bombay and Panchgani.
until July 1992 I left India for good.
1992 December I landed in Strasbourg, Alsace, France.
I've been hiding in Alsace since December 1992. My life is fun.
And they all wonder why I'm the Ungoogleable man.
Also, I censored the episodes with AREA 51, trust me, you don't wanna know, it's a long story.
Okay, night, night!

Maybe the most heartbreaking moment of it all, was that the moment he lifted and pointed his finger at her, she froze. Over the years she'd got used to the raise of someone's voice or the anger she'd hear when people spoke, but deep down there would always be a little girl that was frightened when a hand raised higher than her shoulder level. No part of her believed that Angelo would hurt her, alcohol or not but at the same time.. the memories were burned into her, the way she held her breath and braced was muscle memory. "He was already in my home... you can check me phone in fact- in fact here, theres- there's something wrong with it.." she briefly turned to Agatha with her fingers barely able to open her phone, just to be able to show what she meant. "I don't know if it's tracked or anything but- but-" she was fully trembling because she felt swallowed up by the ground. About two feet tall and- there. She had the texts. "Noah! Noah he- 5.a.m. He'd text me that Sam was in my home, my apartment that there was an emergency and that's my, it's-" she breathed deeply, trying to shake her head and explain, get her thoughts right. She looked to Cade who was already nodding in understanding exactly what Eden meant. Her family home was never the one with her Father in it, it was in that apartment, with her and Bens heights etched into the kitchen doorway and the little fingerprint marks they'd used to paint flowers into an old side table by the front door.
"This mess?" she questioned and it shattered her heart. "I was protecting you, not myself... the things he had on me? That didn't scare me, it's what he has on you." What he went on to say, about her being with Sam how she'd tire of him, move along when she was done, it twisted her stomach. Did he not see her? Did he not see her stood with the bruise forming across her upper right cheekbone or the scratched he'd made to her chest... did he not see how dainty she'd become in such a short space of time? "Do you have any idea what he tried to do to me?" having to put it out there as a question, tore her apart. "Two buttons, that's all he got because Lawrence was there and he knew I'd have someone to run to.. thanks to Lawrence it stopped at two buttons, so how can you-..." she pressed her lips together, not even able to look at him for a moment. "How could you even say that? IS that what the alcohol does to you Angelo? Turns you into someone that'd be hurtful, that'd make me feel small just to make yourself feel better? Do you see how you're looking at me? I don't even recognize you.."
Get the hell out. Eden wanted to stay.. she wanted to wait for Lawrence but how could she with that demand? "At least tell him when he wakes up, I wanted to stay." Thank you for clarifying one thing for me." It took all of her courage to say what came up from her chest, the hurt that came with it.. the sheer fact that it was a softened whisper and not accusation thrown. "You never really did love me back at all." It wasn't even question more than it was statement. More fool me, she thought and then wondered if Cade might turn around, if he'd laugh and say 'told you so' but when she turned around, it wasn't what he did at all.
Tumblr media
"Don't go home, go to our place. Get something to eat, anything you want, a hot drink, okay Edie?" he pulled out her old nickname, ee-d-ee it was cute and in a strange way, safe. Cade was holding his anger in until she was gone, waiting. He'd learned that lesson when Agatha was pregnant. He'd grown, in that way. Learned to control it better and if anything, he knew how alcohol could really fuck with your head. He didn't want her anywhere near the stress. "I'll find Sam, Agatha will make sure he has nothing, we'll get rid of that worry, okay? I know it's hard but you gotta try and relax.." she nodded, listening to every word. In another world she'd have trusted Cade and what he said and gone to their apartment but.. she had no intention of it. They had Alma and Eden would never risk taking any form of trouble to their home, not if Sam could find her, not with the possibility of it lingering. All she wanted now was to be alone, far away, from where anyone could find her. She wanted to feel safe, she wanted to feel like she could breath and she wanted this... this ache in her chest, to go away. Heartbreak wasn't meant to hurt quite like that, was it?
Cade waited until Eden had left the room, she'd given Agatha her phone, the one she believed that Sam was tracking. If anyone she trusted Agatha to see anything that was on there and it was true enough that two days after Sam showed up... Eden stopped texting everyone. The first person and only person she'd tried to ring from that phone was Angelo, and she'd done so twice before realizing she couldn't make calls from that phone at all. Cade turned to Angelo and within three steps he was across that room, his pointed finger jabbing into him before he took hold of his shirt and screwed it up, just to shove his back to the wall. "Do you need your fucking head bashing in just to have some sense put in there? Huh?"
Tumblr media
Every muscle in his arm was prominent, veins showing and this anger that he had got so good at controlling, boiling onto the surface. He knew that Agatha didn't like to see it, but he hoped in this circumstance she might understand why. "You think that is any way to fucking speak to her, after all the shit she's put up with? you think that is any way to speak to a pregnant woman?" Cade didn't realize that he didn't know.. he didn't realize the words that were coming out with the frustration. "How the fuck could you speak to the mother of your child like that? That woman- are you fucking listening to me?" he squeezed his grip tighter, inadvertently tightening the material more around his neck as he did. He jerked his body, wanting absolute attention. "That woman has defended you tooth and fuckin' nail, time and time again, and that's how you repay her when she's carrying your kid? All she's ever done is care about you when no fucker else did. She isn't a fighter Santino, what did you expect her to do? Sam has always been a controlling motherfucker but what in the hell is wrong with you? You hear that someone laid a hand on your woman, your pregnant woman, and what? Booze has you that fucked up that you turn around and blame her for it all? The fucks happened to you, big and scary Santino? You're acting like a wounded kitten without claws."
Cade's nostrils were flared, he was seething with rage and Eden... Eden was gone. She wasn't going to be home. She wasn't going to be at their home either. She wouldn't even be in town. She couldn't bare the thought of Sam getting near her again of his hands- of a knife at her collarbones... she couldn't do it again. "The only reason I won't beat the sense in to you is because you're going to pull your self together, get your shit together Santino. You shower, you get that fucking stench of booze off yourself, get a haircut, shave. The man in that bed needs you to be a man not a goddamn shrimp and fine, if you can't be there for Eden then don't, but stay out of our goddamn way because she's our family and we sure as hell won't abandon her when it boils down to it." his teeth gritted. "You know, you don't deserve the life as a Father she'd give you anyway." He didn't give a fuck how nasty it sounded, he was done playing nice. He was saying what needed to be heard.
Agatha's embrace tightened around Eden as she spoke, her touch gentle and comforting. "Hey, it's fine, Eden," she whispered, her voice full of reassurance. "We couldn’t have known that Sam would do something like this. But you’re safe now, that’s what matters." She continued to rub Eden's back, trying to soothe the tension and fear that still lingered in her friend. When Eden confessed that Sam had taken control of her phone, Agatha’s expression darkened with concern. The realization that he had isolated Eden like that made her blood boil, but she kept her focus on Eden, knowing this moment was about supporting her.
Agatha's shock was evident as she processed the news of Eden's pregnancy. Her hands covered her mouth, her emotions swirling in a mix of surprise, concern, and joy. She squeezed Eden’s hand gently, offering silent support as she listened to Cade speak, his words meant to reassure Eden that they were there for her, no matter what. As Cade spoke, Agatha gave Eden a nod, silently hoping that Angelo would be able to put aside his anger and protect Eden, especially now that she was carrying his child. But as Eden recounted everything Sam had done, Agatha’s expression hardened with resolve. The gravity of the situation hit her fully—Sam’s control over Eden, the files he held, and the danger they all posed.
Agatha turned to Cade, her determination clear. "It won’t be easy, but we can’t let him have that kind of power over her." Her voice was firm, a plan already forming in her mind. "I’ll find a way to access his space, wherever he’s keeping those files. It’s going to be risky, though." Her eyes met Cade’s, seeking his agreement. She knew this would be dangerous, but there was no other option. Sam had crossed a line, and they needed to take back control before he could do any more harm.
As Angelo began to subtly blame Eden for what happened to Lawrence, Agatha's patience snapped. She stepped forward, her eyes blazing with anger. "Oh, for crying out loud, Angelo!" she exclaimed, her voice sharp and unyielding. "You can't be serious. Look at her—just look at how she's feeling! You have no idea what she's been through, what she had to endure with that man, and you think you can accuse her of anything? You have no single right."
Tumblr media
Angelo stood there, his expression like stone as Eden struggled to explain, her words faltering under the weight of her pain. He watched her, his face unreadable, but inside, he was a storm of emotions—a chaotic mess of sadness, rage, love, and a gnawing worry about Lawrence's recovery. The weight of everything crushed down on him, threatening to break through the tough exterior he’d been trying so hard to maintain.
Sam.
That name reverberated in his mind, the source of all this anguish. Sam was the reason Lawrence was fighting for his life, the reason Eden was standing there, broken and hurting. Angelo’s fists clenched at the thought of him, his commitment to making Sam suffer solidifying like iron in his veins. Yet, as much as he wanted to unleash his fury on the man who caused all this, there was a part of him that couldn’t understand why Eden hadn’t escaped sooner—why she hadn’t sought his help when things started to spiral out of control. Lawrence had tried to explain it to him, but even then, it was hard to grasp.
Sir, in my many years, I haven't seen anyone despicable.
Angelo's jaw clenched as Eden's words cut through the air, each one like a dagger aimed straight at his heart. The echo of her accusations reverberated in his mind, filling him with a mix of guilt and anger. When she demanded to know where he was when she called, it felt like she was ripping open wounds he’d been trying to keep buried, and his resort to alcohol had been over his pain. He shook his head slowly, the weight of everything pressing down on him, his hand lifting to rub his eyes, then falling to rest over his chin as he tried to compose himself. But when she put the blame on him, something within him snapped. His control, so tenuously held, shattered under the weight of her words.
"No," he said, his voice low and trembling with a dangerous mix of emotions. "I won’t let you blame me for what happened to him, Eden. Non sono responsabile di nulla. [I am not responsible for anything]" His eyes, usually so full of warmth when he looked at her, now held a storm of conflicting feelings—hurt, frustration, and a deep, simmering anger. Angelo's voice cut through the room with a harsh edge, each word punctuated with the frustration he could no longer contain. "I won't fucking let anyone put this on me when it's clear that asshole of your ex did this." He jabbed a finger in Eden's direction for emphasis, the intensity of his gaze sharp and accusing. After a few moments, he dropped his hand, the anger still simmering in his eyes.
"Do you have any fucking idea why I've decided to drink? Have you told them about the reason why?" His eyes darted between Agatha and Cade, his frustration spilling over as he sought to make his point clear. "Let me refresh your mind, Eden. The last time we were together in a room, you fucking left with no explanation, no fucking note, not even a voicemail or a message." His voice cracked slightly, revealing the pain beneath his anger. He took a deep breath, trying to regain some control over his emotions. "I was left in the dark. I had no idea where you went or why you disappeared like that. And now, here I am, trying to piece together what happened, only to find out you're in this mess because of that figlio di puttana." Angelo's gaze softened briefly as he looked at her, his anger giving way to a deep, wounded sadness. His shoulders slumped slightly, the weight of his words and the underlying pain evident in his posture. “So, don’t fucking blame me for not being there when you needed me. I was left with nothing from you. Absolutely nothing. Which is why…” He let out a harsh, humorless chuckle, the sound echoing with a mix of anger and pain. “I’m sure Sam was entertaining until he wasn’t, am I right?” The mocking tone in his voice was a stark contrast to the deep hurt and betrayal he felt. His gaze locked onto Eden, demanding an answer, an explanation that seemed just out of reach.
Tumblr media
Angelo’s gaze cut sharply between Cade and Agatha, his expression a storm of anger and anguish. “Do me a favor? Stay the fuck out of this and get the hell out,” he snapped, his voice laced with a fierce edge. “I need a moment with the man that is family to me, and I don’t need anyone’s shit.” The command was firm, his tone brooking no argument.

The Implied ending of 91 days
Spoilers of course
Discussion time
So the anime leaves it pretty open like we don’t see a body and we see a car driving their way. From the other mafia family. The anime leaves the chance for Angelo to be alive, he was either not shot or they retrieved the bleeding Angelo.
But fun fact, the creators released two novels in Japanese and have an epilogue from Cerotto’s view. Implying that both Angelo and Nero are in “heaven”. It still isn’t confirmed but the book pushes that they are dead. Nero did drive away from the scene without Angelo.
My thoughts on this are is that they left it open in case it got popular to continue the series like code geass. Since it never got popular, it’s still open but I presume that means Angelo is dead and will stay dead. Unless the series gets popular...
What do you think? Is Angelo alive even tho the novel implies that he is “dead” and do you think they’d even continue it if the show got popular?
Also here is the epilogues I know a lot of fans don’t even know that they exist so enjoy the pain <3

Some Will-Centric Tidbits
since my Nico post is doing pretty well
He basically saved Annabeth's life in The Last Olympian by healing the poisoned stab wound in her shoulder
He's not fond of theft ("There's a Duane Reade on Fifth. Normally I would never steal--"/"I would," Travis volunteered./Will glared at him. "Leave cash or drachmas to pay, whatever you've got, but this is an emergency..." (The Last Olympian, p. 197).
He became head counselor pretty young, basically during the war with Kronos since Michael Yew, the former head of the Apollo cabin, died in the battle on Williamsburg Bridge
He's friendly with Annabeth and even lent her the Apollo cabin's chariot ("'Annabeth!' A guy with a bow and quiver on his back pushed through the crowd. 'I said you could borrow the chariot, not destroy it!'" (The Lost Hero, p. 36).
He's the one who showed Leo around camp in The Lost Hero
Will has a sort of calming presence ("'She's right.' Will Solace, head counselor for the Apollo cabin, put his hand gently on Clarisse's wrist. Not many campers could've done that without getting stabbed, but Will had a way of defusing people's anger. He got her to lower her dagger" (The Blood of Olympus, p. 135).
Nico described him as "a lanky cat stretched out in the sunshine" but also noted that Will was brave under fire despite his lax appearence, having personally seen him in action healing people during the Battle of Manhatten
He's a fan of sci-fi films, most notably the og Star Wars trilogy and Star Trek ("Will whistled appreciatively. 'I bet many Bothans died to bring us this information'" (The Tower of Nero, p. 126) and ("'Come on, Mr. Spock, I'll explain everything.' Will put a hand on his shoulder and steered him off toward the cabins" (The Lost Hero, p. 39).
His full name is William Andrew Solace (thanks, Nico)
His mother is Naomi Solace, an alt-country singer, and he was born in Autsin, Texas. Yeehaw.
His magical Apollo ability is being a human glowstick
He's an adept healer, but claims to suck at Apollo's other gifts-- archery, music, poems, etc.
Alluded to the fact that he's seen/spoken to Nico before their joint appearence in The Blood of Olympus, recognizing him on sight (Nico was about to attempt it when a voice behind him said, 'Nico?'/He spun, his sword instantly in his hand, and almost decapiatated Will Solace" (p. 417).
Will "flip-flops and jeans/scrubs" Solace
Poor guy delivered a satyr baby all on his own
He's a year-round camper
He's beyond proud of Apollo for accomplishing what he did as Lester. He loves his dad. Similarly, Apollo is just as proud of Will and his other children.
His one musical talent is an ear-splitting New York taxi cab whistle
He cares for Nico and his wellbeing (since they're bfs, and Will is in training to be a doctor), but Nico reciprocates these feelings and supports Will in the same ways. It's not one-sided ("Will changed his surgical gloves and glared at the woods. 'We will find them. We have to.'/Nico di Angelo gave him a canteen. 'Drink. Right now, this is where you need to be'" (The Hidden Oracle, p. 179).
He managed to stop a collision between the Greeks and Romans with his horrible taxi cab whistle ("Will Solace saved the day./He put his fingers to his mouth and did a taxicab whistle even more horrible than the last. Several Greeks dropped their swords. A ripple went through the Roman line like the entire First Cohort was shuddering./'DON'T BE STUPID!' Will yelled. 'LOOK!'" (The Blood of Olympus, p. 433).
Will and Rachel (and Nico) are buds
There's probably more. Feel free to add more. And hopefully we get more insight on his character in the Solangelo book.

***
There had been an unspoken thing between you and Thomas from the first day you met. It was one of those right person, wrong time scenarios. Both of you were happily taken by other people, loving your partners, and leading healthy relationships. It simply hadn't been meant to be and both of you had gladly accepted it. Nothing had ever happened, despite the others insisting there must have, neither of you was like that. So you stayed friends with him, the same way you stayed friends with Victoria, Damiano, and Ethan and it didn't take long for the five of you to grow into a loving group, a chosen family. That was until both you and Thomas happened to have broken up with your respective partners within the same week. It was safe to say that it didn't take long for the meddling to start.
***
"I just think they'd make such a good couple!" Victoria said, pushing the empty beer bottles around on the table in annoyance. "They're basically made for each other."
"Leave it, Vic," Ethan said. The dark of the bar was hiding his features and the fact he was slightly rolling his eyes. "They both literally just got out of relationships, I don't think they're interested."
"But they both ended them so it's not like they've been broken up with," she insisted. "I'm sure they'll get over it quickly enough."
"Yeah I agree with Vic," Damiano added. "It's not like either of them seems all that heartbroken."
"Exactly, which is why we need to act now!"
"I still don't think it's a good idea," Ethan sighed. "Just let them figure it out on their own."
"But they're idiots! They'll never figure it out!"
Damiano couldn't help laugh out loud. He knew his friend was onto something, both Thomas and Y/n tended to be hilariously oblivious when it came to things like these.
"Maybe they just need a little push," he agreed.
"Fine." A deep sigh escaped Ethan. "But don't say I didn't warn you if it doesn't work out."
***
The moment you stepped into the vintage second-hand store you decided it was heaven on earth. It didn't take long for you to sweep through the place like a whirlwind, picking up pieces left and right, leaving Victoria and Thomas standing at the entrance still. You didn't care, this was one of your favourite places and you were not going to be held back because those two were slow. You tried on a dress that looked like an absolute mess on you and you quickly took a picture to laugh at later with the others, before trying on some trousers that you really took a liking to. You were still in them, trying to figure out if you had also grabbed a top that would match when someone knocked on the wood of the changing room. Confused and not certain if the noise was directed at you, you pulled back the curtain to come face to face with Thomas. He noticed you were in your bra before you did.
You raised your eyebrows, overly amused at how he was nervously looking around to figure out if anyone else would be able to see her, but no one seemed to be around. As he turned back, he tried not to let his gaze fall into her chest again, but failed miserably. You laughed heartily, "It's fine, stop blushing, Thomas."
He grinned, more relaxed not that he knew you didn't mind. He shouldn't, this being far from the first time he'd seen you like this.
"Vic told me to give you this dress to try on."
You looked at the piece of fabric he handed you, a gorgeous, velvety black, knee-high dress with a dangerous slit and a plunging neckline. It wasn't something you would have chosen yourself, but you trusted Vic's judgment. The curtain was quickly closed again, removing the trousers you had already decided on and slipped on the dress. It fell in a much nicer way than you had anticipated, easily smoothing itself over your curves and settling perfectly in place. The mirror agreed with your sentiment - you looked gorgeous. Okay, so this dress would do with a bit more makeup and without a bra, but it was a no-brainer that you were going to buy it.
You ripped open the curtain, now facing both of your friends. As soon as Vic saw you, she seemed as smitten with it as you were. Thomas looked stunned in his own way but stayed quiet.
"Fuck, I knew that was your dress!" Victoria shouted, obviously proud of herself for picking it out.
"Where am I ever going to wear this?" You asked, spinning to muster your reflection once again.
"When I take you out tomorrow night," Vic grinned. "There's a gorgeous new restaurant in town but it's fancy fancy, so this will do just fine."
You couldn't help but squint your eyes at her through the mirror. Her suggestion sounded just fine, but the way her eyes flickered made you feel like there was something more to the story.
***
"Wait, so how will you going out with her to dinner help, exactly?"
"Oh, Damiano, stop being so dumb. Obviously, I won't go."
"I don't get it."
"I'll have some sort of last-minute emergency, and since both of you will be out of the house, Thomas will have to step in."
Ethan sighed, shaking his head at his friend's plan.
"Why do you have to meddle so much, Vic?"
"Because those two don't get it. But once they see each other all dressed up, romantic dinner, candles, good wine, it'll click."
"Whatever you say."
***
"Oh my god, Y/n, I'm so sorry!" Victoria burst into your room, Chili cradled in her arms and an apologetic look on her face. "I know we said we'd go to that fancy restaurant tonight, but Chili's been coughing and the vet told me to come in immediately."
You side-eyed the little white dog, looking as happy as can be, but there was no reason for you not to trust Victoria. Right? You briefly petted Chili's head.
"Don't worry about it, we can always go some other time."
"No!" Her outburst surprised you. "I mean, it's so difficult to get a reservation there and you should wear your dress out. Damiano and Ethan are out, but I'm pretty sure Thomas is free, please ask him, he'd probably love to go with you!"
You wanted to scold Victoria, tell her this wasn't happening, tell her you'd be fine just staying home, but she didn't give you a chance to do any of it. Instead, she left your room, immediately shouting for her bandmate. It was the reason you found yourself at a candlelit dinner with the blond man mere hours later.
"You look amazing, by the way," Thomas said. Well, he actually kind of mumbled it into his pasta rather than proudly state it. You felt like blushing.
"So do you, love. But you know I love you in a suit."
Your eyes met, just for a moment, before both of you found yourselves awkwardly staring back at your plates again. You didn't know why you were behaving like this, or why he was, you could only attribute it to the fact that this felt like an overly romantic date and the waiter had referred to you as his girlfriend multiple times already. Neither of you had corrected him. You hadn't minded the single rose that had been placed between you on the table, accompanied by a little wink and a smile by the waiter.
"You know, you make a lousy boyfriend, not even bringing me flowers for our date, " you teased, watching as a shy smile appeared on Thomas' face, his eyes travelling down the table for a second before looking at you again with more than a twinkle.
"I did take you to the nicest restaurant in town, surely that gets me some points?"
The giggle bubbled over your lips easily. Everything came easy with Thomas. He made the troubles disappear with one look, one touch of a hand, a single word, a gesture, his existence. He was your own personal cure to everything.
***
"No, I'm telling you, it worked," Victoria excitedly gasped and she gathered in the kitchen with Damiano and Ethan, trying to stay as inconspicuous as possible. "You should have seen them when they came back!"
"Did you actually wait up for them?" Ethan asked, slightly disbelieving, slightly amused.
"Well, they didn't know obviously! I just cracked my bedroom door open a bit. But they were all giggly and happy and they hugged when they said goodnight!"
"Vic, we all hug all the time," Damiano threw in.
"Not the way they did. I'm serious, this is working and you'll see soon enough!"
"So what's the next idea then?"
"I'm... I'm not quite sure," she admitted. "But I'll figure it out and it'll be perfect."
***
The thunderstorm hadn't been predicted by any of the weather channels. You found yourself standing in front of the patio doors with Thomas, watching the heavy rain disturb the surface or the pool, trees swaying in the wind, a flash of light illuminating the garden in regular intervals. It had only been the two of you home when it had started, everyone else out to meet friends or sitting in a bar with a drink in their hand. You had been having a lazy day, unwilling to leave the house at all, while Thomas had slept for so long no one had bothered trying to wake him so he could join in on plans.
"Do you want to compare our favourite records?"
You had been so focused on the happenings outside of the glass that you almost flinched in surprise at his question. Still, a slight smile, the right kind of look, and you were nodding enthusiastically. Hasting up the stairs, barefoot and in nothing but shorts and the shirt you usually slept in, you went through the little collection you had brought to the summer house, already hearing the first notes of Led Zeppelin's Black Dog echoing downstairs. With a smile on your face, you grabbed a few records and bolted back down to Thomas.
"I still prefer Led Zeppelin III," you giggled, only to be greeted with Thomas' shocked face. "Anything that has Immigrant Song on it is a hit, really."
"Blasphemy! Nothing tops IV, and you clearly have no taste."
"You clearly have no taste considering you think anything Led Zeppelin has put out is better than Fleetwood Mac's Rumours." You barely waited for the first song of Thomas' album of choice to finish playing before interrupting it with the sound of Second Hand News.
It didn't take long for the conversation to get heated. Still, you kept playing your record in the background, effortlessly dodging his effort to change it, even though the whole thing had been his idea in the first place. He was still complaining, explaining, talking to a wall basically, as you danced around the living room, as the music flowed through you, singing along, thunder only happens when it's raining, as the weather outside did its worst.
"I just think it's much too sad, most of it," Thomas finally concluded.
"Doesn't that just make it so beautiful though?"
"No, it just makes me sad," he pouted.
"Maybe you just never listened to it the way you should. In the arms of someone you love."
A heartbeat passed as both of you looked at each other, but then your smile returned and you motioned for him to get on the sofa with you, lying on your side as he slowly but surely moved in front of you. Your arms wrapped around him, spooning him, making you feel safer than you ever have as Songbird played in quiet tones.
Your nose buried itself in his hair, letting his smell fill your every pore, taking over your whole being as you pressed into him, singing along in nothing but a whisper.
"And I love you, I love you, I love you, like never before."
***
"Guys, guys, guys, look at that!" Victoria called out to her friends as they quietly made their way into the house. "I knew it would be such a good idea to leave them alone in the house!"
"Vic, it's not like you made a thunderstorm come along, I'm pretty sure this was not your doing for once," Damiano whispered.
"Doesn't matter! Look at them spooning! We're on the right way, guys!"
"We're not on any way," Ethan threw in. "You keep trying to meddle and the two of them are going their own ways."
"They just need another push. I just gotta think of something."
***
"Hey, they let you feed the goats here!" Victoria squealed as everyone around her let out a groan. The zoo was bustling with people, the five friends surrounded by families, and Vic easily fell in line with the children's excitement.
"Vic, I really really don't like goats," you complained. "I'd rather not get their attention because I got food in my hands."
"Fine. How about you go see the owls over there with... Thomas, and I go feed some adorable goats with Ethan and Damiano?"
The both of you allowed yourselves to be pushed away easily, chuckles on your faces as you walked away from the rest of the group, dodging running toddlers as you went.
"So, this is a set-up, huh?" Thomas grinned next to you as his arm slid around your waist, pulling you closer.
"Oh, as if Victoria has been doing anything these past weeks without hidden intentions." You let yourself mold into Thomas' side, leaning in closer until your bodies were touching as much as physically possible. "She's not half as subtle about this as she thinks. I'm sure she's watching right now."
You didn't turn around, but you felt her eyes on the pair of you, watching your every move and trying to figure out what was going on between the two of you.
"Do you wanna give her a show?" You playfully pinched his site, looking at him from the corner of your eyes just to see a smile appear on his face that was surely mirroring yours. "Make out a little bit?"
"Wouldn't that give it away?" He stopped walking, now wrapping both of his arms around you as you leaned on his chest, looking up at him.
"I'm sure she'd still think it's just a first step in the right direction."
Not waiting for his response, your hand reached up to his face, slowly stroking along the soft skin of his cheek, thumb running over his lower lip as his smile grew, then reaching around, tangling them into his hair and pulling him down to you. His lips met yours in a sigh, warm and lovely, a tingling feeling spreading through you immediately, pressing yourself into him. You could feel his thumb stroking your back ever so slightly as he held you. He wanted more, slowly moving his lips, trying to deepen the kiss, but you pulled away. Close enough to still feel his breath on you, close enough that whispering would be enough.
"Now, we don't want Vic to figure it all out immediately," you grinned before putting more distance between the two of you. He groaned, making you giggle, before taking your hand and pulling you along.
"How much longer are you planning to keep this up?" Thomas asked, shaking his head, but still amused. "We've been together for two weeks."
"Pretty sure she already bought tickets for the cinema for me and her for Wednesday... which she'll inexplicably have no time for so you'll have to come along, obviously. I can give you a hickey in the dark theater, she'll freak."
Thomas laughed out loud, pressing a single kiss to the top of your head.
"Fine. One more date, that's it?"
"One more date."

Who the hell would be visiting my hotel room?
I opened the door.
I didn't recognize him at first. Hair spilled down the front of his face, destroyed by the rain. He glared up at me with a sadness I hadn't seen in him before.
I took a step back and held the door open for him, bidding him to come in.
He was so drenched with rain that the water audibly dripped on the carpet.
After the main door closed, I stepped into the bathroom to grab towels.
I draped one over his shoulders, and handed him the rest. Still, he barely moved, rigid, shoulders slumped.
Finally, I spoke, softly, "...Did you walk here, Josuke?"
And then it happened.
I heard his breath coughing out. His shoulders shook. I saw his mouth curled in a grimace of emotional agony.
Then a strained, wheezing inhale. And he cried harder.
Slowly, I stepped closer to him, and put my arms around him.
He let his forehead fall into my chest, and sobbed.
***
"I'm gonna let you in on something personal. Because it's important that you know exactly what you're in for with that Stand of yours."
"Alright," Josuke muttered.
"...My family, my wife and my kid, they aren't Stand users. Nor do they know what Stands are. Until the call from the Speedwagon Foundation that brought me to Morioh, I was happy with the choices I'd made. I'd never been so happy in my life. I was finally content for the first time. I was deep in love. I'd fulfilled my dream of finding my family; of having a child; something I'd wanted since long before I knew how to make one. So many people never get close to their dreams, or even happiness or contentment."
"And it was... well... It was like fate, or magic. Like it was meant to be. My wife and my child... their colors glow into the air around them. Just like my mom. Like all the people I love. I look at them, and the sun radiates behind them. Another thing you might already know about our bloodline is that many things in our lives seem to happen under strange, even impossible, circumstances. Everything about how I met my family was strange, from how I met my wife, how we found out we were having a baby, and how our kid was born. It was like our child knew they needed to be born, and they chose the two of us to be their parents."
"But I had made these choices; of starting a relationship, of getting married, and the incredibly committing and permanent decision of creating a human being; because I'd thought it was all over after Dio died. That the fighting with Stands was all over. Things were quiet between then and when I met Vanessa, between then and when we got married, and then until our baby was six years old. Until now, I'd thought I would never, ever have to be apart from them. I didn't care about my Stand or what amazing things I could do with it. My family is my life. I don't care about anything else."
"But now... Ever since I got that call to come to Morioh to find Angelo... I don't know if I'm ever going to see them again. I don't know if they'll ever be safe near me again. What happened yesterday, to your grandfather, Josuke... I'm afraid it's only the beginning."
"Should you decide to have a family one day... No matter what family you choose; a dog, romantic partners, children, another kind of found family... You have to steel yourself to the fact that they may end up hating you. And you won't be able to tell them why you had to leave. You may need to abandon them to save them, without a word. Without saying goodbye. Because you'll do anything for them. But that means something different when you have a Stand. It means you may need to break them and devastate them and ruin their lives in order to keep them safe. And it's going to hurt like hell. For both of you. It's going to rip your hearts into pieces."
"And... While you need to know this and what your life may look like from now on... I'm sorry for dumping all of this on you. I feel like I'm just being a mess in front of you, when I'm your senior and I'm supposed to be the one listening to your problems, not the other way around."
Josuke was quiet for a long time. For several blocks as we walked.
Finally, he smirked and said, "I thought you only lost your cool like that in situations where your family is threatened. Lucky them."
"Josuke," I stood in front of him and looked him right in the eyes. "You are my family."
Just as his eyes were turning red again as if he might cry, I turned around and kept walking. He continued with me a few seconds later.
"I won't let anything happen to you," I swore. "Not ever."

Imagine (based on the incomplete fanfic Son of the Underworld) (Son of Hades! Percy AU) (5/5) or (5/10)
Hey so, this is the last part of PJO - I follow into HOO, so before you read this, check on the masterpost - and read the warnings before proceeding :)) Good reading!
Annabeth comes to him, at the end of his fifteenth birthday party, and shows her Daedalus laptop. There's a document open in it, and it's labeled Achilles' Curse.
Percy doesn't read it - he hates reading, in any way or form or language - but she does, out loud.
"I'll think about it"
They have a year. Most of them, even those who aren't year-rounders, are going back to camp, to draw battle plans and stock on the armory.
He feels kinda selfish - for a whole five seconds before he remembers he'll probably die next summer, so he just shrugs it off - Percy deserves this year.
They all leave to go back to camp. Nico seems conflicted over something - but Perseus doesn't question it, there's enough bad blood between them.
Paola is really cool - and Sally really loves her. It's kind of bizarre at first, to see his Mom dating his teacher - and of a subject he hates - but Paola is calm and well-tempered and she laughs at his stupid ass jokes.
He visits Persephone afterward - and it really feels like he has three moms to fulfill his lack of a father - well, he is absolutely grateful for the women in his life.
Percy isn't truly in good terms with his father. The man doesn't really seem to care much for him as a person - he is much more of a trophy son.
Perseus loathes being a trophy son, but at least he has someone to help with his powers - not something a lot of half-bloods can claim.
So he goes back to school with Rachel, and they pretend everything is normal. He tells her about his quests - all three of them. He thinks she understands him better now.
He opens up to her. Tells her about Annabeth - the adrenaline-fueled kiss - and Rachel stops talking with him for a week.
She apologizes when she comes back. She needed to figure some things up - firstly, the redhead tells him she is probably asexual - and maybe aromantic too, but she is not certain because the internet wasn't really clear about that.
Then Rachel confesses that she is not jealous of him in a romantic way - she is envious of his friendship with Annabeth. Percy is her first genuine friend that really appreciates her.
This is the first grudge Perseus lets go for real before it even takes place - Rachel didn't leave him because of teenage drama, she ignored him out of confusion. Everyone is allowed space - he knows this better than anyone.
They don't kiss anymore. Not because Rachel doesn't like it - no, she is all for it - but because Percy is starting to think kisses should mean something - he is saving them.
They kiss once - when Rachel father calls for the first time this year - not to ask about her, but to tell Rachel he found this amazing all-girls school. To Percy, kisses mean comfort.
They cuddle a lot, though. These past few years of fear have made Percy very touch-starved.
It's sophomore year - and Percy is in five AP classes: Macroeconomics&Microeconomics, Statistics, Calculus AB, Physics 1, and Comparative Government and Politics.
He is planning on taking both AP Computer Science classes, Psychology, Physics 2, and Calculus BC next year; leaving only Electricity&Magnetism, Mechanics, Chemistry, and World History for his senior year.
If he lives, he is working on a tight schedule here. He doesn't know what he wants yet - and if he is in constant danger, it's already pretty lucky he can do high school - but probably something with Math.
Rachel says fourteen AP courses are ambitious - that he'll burn out. But math comes to him easily enough - it's in his blood.
She is also overworking: She is taking AP Environmental Studies, Art History, Drawing, 2-D Art and Design, and English Literature and Composition.
They complete each other. Rachel is planning on taking as many Art, History, and English courses as she can - he is taking as many Physics, Math, and Science as he can handle.
(She is also going to take on Japanese studies for some reason - probably for her GPA, but Perseus just teases her that she is getting too invested in anime)
Perseus doesn't care about languages anymore - the only languages that matter to him are C++ and JavaScript now.
They study together, they take naps together, they climb to the roof together, they flee school to visit Sally together - he is the Pinky to her Brain, the Scooby to her Shaggy, the Lois Lane to her Superman, the Robin to her Batman.
They look like troublemakers - They are honor roll students, but she is always with ripped pants dirty with paint, and he is always full of flowers everywhere, even in his muddy converses - a cliche to kill all cliches.
They're both nerds - he is the classic one, all polo shirts now, the first chair for every number-related class - and she is the artsy one - there's a brush behind her ear and her hair is so messy that half the time it covers her face.
Paola gifts him a pair of cheap frames without lenses once - saying it adds to the aesthetic - he totally uses them.
Persephone just makes him flower-crowns, and giggles when he matches them with his polo shirts.
When winter comes, he goes back to his hoodies and sweaters and gloves - to find out he doesn't miss them a lot.
Rachel introduces him to polaroids - and they look eerily pretty in the winter, her hair looking like blood spilling over the snow - and he loves it.
If he survives - he can feel Rachel slapping him - when he survives, his college credits will be remarkable. The idea of doing SATs makes him want to cry - reading always does - but he'll get somewhere good - he knows it. Perhaps Stanford. Or NYU. Or the dream of his life, MIT.
He is living his life to the fullest - he starts reading comic books, he gets really (really) into Tony Stark once Iron Man 1 comes out (even if he has to kill at least three monsters just to go to the movies), he plants trees and Rachel starts teaching him how to play her ukulele - but half his mind is still on the upcoming war.
Christmas vacation comes - and he goes to visit Camp Half-Blood, before heading back to his mom. It's quite memorable, if only by the fact that Nico Di Angelo freaking betrays him.
He tells Percy to come to the Winter Solstice with him. Most of the campers are not going - the war effort is in an all-time high - but Percy has never gone before. Hades will be there - it'll be great!
Perseus should absolutely be less surprised with the outcome - seeing that Nico is inviting him in Cabin 1, post-dinner, and they don't even stop to talk to Chiron about it.
But Percy goes. Because Percy wants to make amends.
There's no time to really talk to anyone. They travel in Blackjack for the Empire State Building - and it's fine.
They go up to Olympus, Nico shows him everything in the god's land, the temples are a work of art, if not kind of old, and the meeting is kind of okay, even if the gods are squabbling children.
Then the gods leave, and Perseus thinks they're leaving too.
"My father needs a word with you"
Perseus feels the betrayal claw on him. There are no shadows in the white hall, there's no way for him to escape. Nico looks apologetic - Percy wants to clock him in the face.
"He promised to tell me more about my mother" Nico pleads "He will tell me more about where I've come from. Please, Percy."
Nico is cute. He is, for a soon-to-be fourteen-year-old. But his pretty face and exquisite white eyes don't make him any less of a freaking liar. All his handsome male straight friends betray him - it's a worrying pattern now.
He muses for a second that they also all have a crush on Annabeth - gods, the blonde attract the worst types.
It's double-crossing - Percy ends up in an all-white cell that burns his retinas without any weapons because Zeus wants praise in the middle of this freaking war - doesn't matter if a hundred demigods die, if he only has the glory.
Nico ends up with barely any information - Zeus didn't promise anything. The god of the skies is a lying-ass motherfucker - literally.
And Zeus justifies it - He says Perseus is a criminal because he awakened Typhon. So Hephaestus issues a quest so he can save a hundred demigods, he destroys a powerful titan weapon of doom, and he is the villain? Sure, Jan.
Perseus writes this grudge in his heart - that's where trust will take you. To a cell. Betrayed by a "friend". Again.
He flinches when Nico comes into his cell, pins him to the wall and promptly begins to try and strangle him. He wants to melt in the boy's shadow - to go and never give him a chance to explain - but he looks so guilty Percy waits for his repentance.
The son of Zeus saves him, but Perseus is still pissed off. The god of thunder has threatened to kill him off at least two times now, what is to say he wouldn't have killed off Percy for the sake of glory?
He half hopes Zeus had killed him off. The war is close, too close - Nico wouldn't be the Prophecy's child. There would be no child. Olympus would fall - and Percy would have seen it all from his very comfortable couch in Elysium.
He wants Kronos gone - but he kind of wants Olympus to fall with the Titan.
Nico flies him down to the Earth - the elevator is monitored. Zeus has left, like many others - not to bother with the war effort against his main enemy, but to go to the human world mess with people.
Some gods are doing something - He has heard from Annabeth that Artemis is leading the widest hunt ever, with her brother by her side; Hermes (with Hephaestus help) is delivering Celestial Bronze, other metals, old schematics and a whole lot of fuel to Camp Half-Blood every few weeks; Poseidon is fighting his own war, in the ocean; Dionysus is at Camp - and this time, he is really helpful with the battle formations; Demeter is on the Underworld - Chiron seems to think his father is preparing for war, but Percy sorely doubts it.
Percy is taking some people with him to Sally's Christmas dinner. Just Annabeth, Clarisse, Rachel, Connor, Travis, and Charles - people who don't have a present family to celebrate it with.
Grover is coordinating the dryads up in San Francisco with his second cousin, Gleeson Hedge - they are the first to fall if anything goes wrong in Mt. Othrys.
"I think you should stay." He tells Nico.
"You don't trust me anymore." It's not actually a question.
Percy doesn't trust the boy. Not at all - it's the third time he does something shady to achieve his ends based on emotional turmoil. But he is a good person - it's just his father's cursed temper and his grief.
"It's not that. You're needed for the war effort."
Both of them know it's a lie. Percy doesn't care - he deserves to be bitter a little longer.
Percy goes back home. Christmas is amazing - even if Rachel asks him where Nico is because he is talking about making amends with the boy for a while now.
He goes visit Persephone - but she is occupied, so he wanders through the Underworld after Bianca di Angelo - someone he, for some reason, never been able to reach. It's a pointless endeavor by now.
He finds her. Or else, he finds a shadow of her - she is blocked from his view. Bianca doesn't talk to him - they weren't close - but she guides him to a girl.
Her name is Hazel Levesque.
She seems lost - like most ghosts - but something in Percy calls for her. It's the color of her skin and the sparkle in her golden eyes - Hazel remembers him of himself.
He promises to visit more - even though he doesn't think she'll remember it - and leaves to go back to the surface - he will finish the sophomore year.
And Percy does. After a very distressing break, he is doing his best. His grades drop a little in English because he can barely focus - half his mind is on the war and Nico's betrayal and Hazel Levesque's golden eyes.
Miraculously, his GPA doesn't fall - he still is taking a ridiculous amount of AP classes, and barely has time to breathe - dark circles grow under his eyes, and he looks like a mess - but now he is a Junior.
That's why, as soon as the year ends, Rachel takes him on a road trip with Connor. They go all the way to Boston, then Portland, Quebec, Montreal, Ottawa, Syracuse, Baltimore, and Filadelfia, before going back to NY.
They are stopped five times by the police - because Percy is black, and it's Rachel driving the Camaro, because she has a learner's permit and Connor is, somehow, an approved license holder.
They are on a pier, enjoying the view of the beach. They did the last week alone because Connor wanted to go check on one of his cousins - at least, that's what he said, with an over-exaggerated wink that both Percy and Rachel ignored for the sake of their sanity.
She tells him about Clarion Ladies Academy - but that her father is at least mildly happy with her GPA this year, even if he disapproves of her Art focused AP classes. Percy thinks Mr. Dare would love him, with his APs on Economics and Politics, if only he was rich. And white.
This time, when Charles Beckendorf arrives in a Pegasus to tell him it's time, Rachel doesn't kiss him - she justs hugs him and makes him promise to call her.
Perseus doesn't go to the Andromeda Ship - he is needed in Camp. He is useless on the water - but they do need him to improve battle strategy.
Charles Beckendorf is dead. Thalia is the one to tell them - she was in her father's palace helping with a monster under her Lady's orders - he went on the mission alone.
Percy talks briefly with Beckendorf's ghost - is his worst developed power, and he can barely hold the "seance" for more than a few minutes. He does it with only Nico di Angelo for witness - the others are the way to close to the situation.
There's a spy passing information to Luke.
They look at him. Doesn't matter how much he does, he is always the first suspect - he is a son of Hades. He was friends with a lot of people on the other side. He was gone for a year and a half, who knows where.
Perseus wants to say that he has helped to save their asses four times now - that without him in the Labyrinth, they would all be dead right now - and that Charles was basically his older brother.
Then he points out he wasn't even here - he had no idea of any plans of anything - and he told him about the spy, so he is not the freaking spy, go point fingers at each other instead of him.
When they start yelling, he stops them - this is not the time, he was just angry at their accusations. They have to burn Charles shroud. Silena is inconsolable - Percy is not very far from it, but he is not a public crier. The last time he cried in public, Luke was dead on a cliff.
Percy speeds up the line for Elysium to Beckendorf - his brother deserves it.
They read the prophecy together - Perseus already read it last summer, he doesn't even care anymore. They look at him anxiously - no one has forgotten that he abhors most of the gods.
Clarisse and Michael Yew fight, but Lee Fletcher - with a mechanical arm built by Beckendorf himself, still re-learning how to shoot arrows and forever incapable of playing the guitar again (but the keyboard is not ruled out yet) - stops them: They can share the chariot. The war is more important - is not the time for petty fights.
Chiron shows them Typhon - and Perseus has a sliver of hope that they can destroy Kronos and be free of the gods at the same time - It's a horrible hope, because he loves Persephone and some of them are even okay sometimes, but he really wants Zeus to go to Tartarus for at least a century, so Perseus doesn't meet him again in this life.
But he also wants the gods to win, because there's a lot of dead people - innocents, people who have nothing to do with this war.
He dreams of Rachel. Rachel is painting Luke - and Percy wakes up crying, for the boy the gods took away.
Annabeth takes him aside and reminds him of Achilles' Curse. He is off to May Castellan's house - the last place Luke has been - for it's his best and only chance, its what Annie thinks. And she is scarcely wrong.
Perseus hates the gods. They wrecked a family - and for what? May Castellan - forever waiting for a son that will never come back, haunted by visions of his future, plates of burned cookies everywhere.
Perseus doesn't pity her - he rages against the gods, who brought madness upon this woman and then left her to it. Where was Apollo, the god of health? Dionysus, who is supposed to control mental health? Artemis, whose job is to protect women?
Hestia is kind - but she is still a goddess. She could've prevented this - but she hides in her hearth and abstains - and that's enabling. Hestia enables the other gods to do as they please, even when she is the oldest. She says they ignore her - oh well, she ignores them right back! He has no time for the laments of another all-powerful being.
So he goes to his mother and asks for her blessing. Then, just to be sure, he asks Persephone's too.
He thinks about his anchor - where does he want it to be in his body. He doesn't want somewhere in his back - where he can't see it - or in his gut - where anyone can stick a sword. He settles for the bottom of his back - where he can at least touch it and it's well protected by armor - and dives.
Perseus hates water - and he has an uncanny fear of drowning. He feels pain - everywhere, horrible pain.
His vision now doesn't have Annabeth's face - the blonde is his link to the demigod world, Persephone is his link to the Underworld and his mom is his link to childhood - but the person who grounds him is Rachel.
He is stronger. He feel his powers at his fingertips - Perseus feels the Underworld as a whole, and it's overwhelming.
Green flames explode from his hands. Flowers made of shadows curve around his ankles - he has been training since he was 12, but now his body can sustain all of his power. This is all his.
He goes meet with his father - Perseus manipulates him. He tells Hades he'll be the hero, but the god himself can be praised for more than being his father. That he should join the battle against Typhon - That's his chance of proving himself. Also, there's less paperwork for him if there are fewer dead people.
His father is amused with his blatant bribing, but he thinks about it, Percy can tell. In a way or another, he excuses himself and goes back to the surface where he is needed.
Persephone stalls him. She asks him to stay, just for this night. He can go back in the morning - he sleeps, and dreams of Rachel again, drawing in the sand. In greek.
He is scared for her - she is having demigod dreams, but she is mortal. Something is wrong.
Typhon is getting worse - and Kronos draws closer to NYC. It's time - he calls for Blackjack and leaves - Mrs. O'Leary, who has become more or less of a mother to his own hellhound, follows. Persephone promises to convince Hades.
They have about sixty campers able to fight heading for the Empire State Building, and five healers. The ones too young to lift a sword or string a bow stayed back at Camp with Argus - fifteen children between 5 and 9 years old.
Percy knows he looks different - he looks just like his father. He has gained a godly aura - he has no scars anymore, no imperfections. Perseus looms over all of them - he went from 5'7'' to 6'2'' - it's a weird view, from up there. It's still strange when they look at him with a mix of fear and admiration.
Perseus Jackson is officially their leader. He hates Olympus - but he will give his life to defend every single one of his demigods.
The vision Hestia shows him just makes him want to tear this throne room with his bare hands - Luke was a kid. He was a kid - and the gods corrupted him. Thalia was a kid - and the gods took her life, twice. Annabeth is still a kid - they all are - and she is here planning battle strategies.
Annabeth missed an extra year of formal education - while Percy is a Junior, Annabeth barely qualifies for a Freshman - because the gods took this from her too.
Percy rages. The ground of Olympus trembles beneath him - he wants to kill something.
Then Hermes appears - like this whole war is not his fault in the first place, the literal bastard - just to relay a message from Athena that gives them a plan that Annabeth was already putting into works and tells Percy to stay away from Annabeth.
Like she cares. Like Athena has ever, ever, done anything for Annabeth.
Perseus can't punch Athena, so he punches the messager (also, because he freaking guilt trips both of them about Luke). He has nothing to lose - he is going to die by the end of the day anyway, and they need him too much.
He has punched a god before - Ares, in a desert in the middle of Los Angeles - but this time, it's satisfactory. He feels good after it.
Hermes seems strangely resigned - He feels guilty about Luke too, but Perseus doesn't think it's enough. It'll never be enough, not while the gods leave their children to rot in a cabin of rejects and May Castellan bakes cookies for a son that will never come back.
Hermes leaves, ashamed. It's only fair, Perseus thinks. They all should be ashamed.
They see the city asleep - the prophecy is in the works.
Perseus executes their strategy - every cabin is covering a tunnel, with the exception of Dionysus, because Pollux is with the Demeter kids, and the Hecate kids stay behind to use spells to overlook the city. Lincoln Tunnel is getting covered by Ares - who, this time around, is actively participating.
The undetermined who didn't desert are with Hermes - and the minor god's children are divided by specialty - most Hypnos and Morpheus children follow him directly, but the two sons of Iris go with the Apollo Cabin.
Annabeth executes Plan 23, automatons, mounting on Mrs. O'Leary (who has strict orders to take Annabeth anywhere she wants without stopping to play around) - she doesn't need his help with this, and Percy has a tunnel to defend.
That left the rivers uncovered - until Thalia appears, with magical sand money, and made the rivers cooperate.
The hunters join the Aphrodite kids - who are half a dozen children between 11 and 19 - the oldest being Silena Beauregard, who uses a crossbow that looks exactly like her immortal half-brother's one.
His bridge is completely covered on skeletons - but no monster comes, even if he hears explosions. He leaves an English Lieutenant from the Battle of Yorktown in command of the bridge - with Tyene, the oldest daughter of Morpheus, to be in alert and don't let Clovis sleep through the battle. Because he did it before - and while it is funny, it can't happen right now.
Perseus mounts Blackjack - and go see where the noise is coming from. It's the Williamsburg Bridge - where are most of Apollo's Cabin.
They fight - and Percy almost cries when he sees Luke, who is not Luke anymore. Luke, who is a puppet controlled by Kronos.
Perseus kills the Minotaur and the weight of his stone spikes collapse the bridge - and Michael Yew dies. This time around, the bridge falls silently into shadows, and he doesn't bother about searching for the corpse - he saw the boy falling, and his screams will haunt all of them, forever.
This time around, Annabeth is not there to protect him - Ethan also doesn't try to kill him. The Son of Nemesis doesn't leave Kronos side for a second - but there's regret in his eyes.
After the bloodlust is gone, Perseus collapses - Will has to bride carry him back. Overuse of his powers - he summoned skeletons and produced shadows, melted enemy swords (with the bonus of incapacitating them without killing), and sprouted stone spikes everywhere - there's even a vine or ten that he used to hold his friends from falling.
Perseus doesn't sleep quickly enough to not hear the yell of anguish that comes from Lee Fletcher - the pain of losing a brother and not being able to fight beside him.
But he does sleep - and he dreams. He dreams of Hades killing Maria Di Angelo, not Hera, like Zeus told Nico. He dreams of Zeus cursing the Oracle - and he seethes, because he also sees what happened to May Castellan.
He keeps getting angrier and angrier at the gods - it's building inside of him. But his friends are still here, still fragile. He can't let them suffer more.
Perseus wakes up, checks on everyone - most everyone is either injured and/or exhausted, but he checks on every camper. He knows all of their names, their ages, their cabins. - and promises to sit up to talk with Thalia and Nico - war makes him prone to peace - and promptly goes back to sleep.
He dreams of Rachel. He wants to scream for her not to come: but she'll anyway.
Perseus dreams of a boy. He is his age - maybe a little younger. His hair is blonde and his skin is whiter - but Percy glances at his eyes, and there are waves in them.
There's a girl by his side - she is familiar to Percy, somehow. They're climbing a mountain.
The dream ends and Percy can't make heads or tails of it. He asks Thalia if she has a brother, but she says that she doesn't, looking wistful.
Prometheus is tempting - but he knows there's no Luke anymore, there's only Kronos. And the gods are horrible, vile and immature - but they never killed any of Percy's friends. Some of them died for the gods - but never by their hands, so for now, Perseus would toe the line.
He does want to punch Hermes again. He takes the Pythos - if everything goes wrong, he will not hesitate in going down for the sake of his friends - but there have been six deaths, and it's enough.
"Was it worth it?" He asks Ethan.
"Alabaster is alive" And it's all the answer Percy needs.
He dreams of Ethan and Alabaster. Alabaster is alive, yes, but he is missing half a leg - courtesy of Clarisse herself. Luke - Kronos - is indifferent, and Ethan curses the daughter of Ares - "The sword that took from us will take from you"
He contains Hyperion with his shadows. Then he helps Grover (who was half asleep, because of Morpheus) to make the Titan into a tree. It's a pomegranate tree - then he sets hellish fire to it and sacrifices it to Hades and Persephone.
A pig is in the sky - this time around, Annabeth and her frightening army of automatons kill it with Nico's help.
Perseus laughs - because Annabeth has about two hundred automatons under her command, Martin Luther King and Alexander Hamilton leading the charge with a giant bull being ridden by the Mad Hatter behind them.
It's weird to see historic figures Percy admires - like Jane Bolin, Sylvia Mendez, or Abraham Lincoln - fighting alongside people he downright despises - Thomas Jefferson and the goatfucker, herpes-ridden, Colombus. His Comparative Government teacher would have a field day.
Annabeth and Nico's pair up is amazing - They fight alongside like they have been doing it all life.
Nico is a force of nature, flying and commanding the winds to do his bidding - His eyes shine in the midst of the stormy clouds. His specialty is weather manipulation - he hasn't had much success with direct energy or electric discharges.
Annabeth has her mother's tenacity for war - and her clever mind for strategies. It's clear in her eyes - she is racking the weaker points of the Clazmonian Sow in her mind and destroying it. The automatons hold the pig in place - and she makes bacon of it.
Hercules couldn't do it. Nico and Annabeth can, because they have the power and the mind.
Perseus is still fighting off monsters - but they're too widespread, so they retreat to the doors of the Empire State Building.
Percy does a mental tally: of sixty-two campers, six are confirmed dead, twenty are injured and nine are out of commission on exhaustion. There should be 27 orange shirts here - but there's only twenty.
Percy wonders if the seven missing are injured, or dead, or under a pile of rubble somewhere with no one to help them. Is there someone being slowly eaten by monsters? Is there someone alone and injured and abandoned? He doesn't know.
He prays that those seven deserted them - at least that means they probably are alive and well.
Perseus looks at Phoebe's grief-stricken face, and he knows it's not probable - she had almost three dozen hunters with her, and now there's barely fifteen still fighting, Thalia nowhere to be seen.
They prepare for their last standing - Percy keeps conjuring skeletons, but they're no match for the sheer strength of the hyperborean giants. Nico is shoulder to shoulder with the Stoll brothers against a group of telkhines - Clarisse is bringing down a whole giant by herself.
After the Party Ponies save them - Chiron leads the charge against his own father, and Perseus is so proud of his mentor he can't even put in words how much - he goes to sleep. Fighting gets him tired quickly, and they'll come back.
He dreams of Dionysus. Perseus is not fond of any god who is not Persephone, but Dionysus is mostly okay sometimes. He seems to care about his children.
Perseus couldn't care less about the Western Civilization - but he'll care for Pollux. It's one of his demigods, after all, and Underworld people are possessive of theirs (i.e. Hades and Persephone).
He dreams of Thalia, in her father's palace, begging Poseidon to leave the underwater war and help with the invasion - His wife is none too happy with the presence of his immortal bastard daughter.
He wakes up to Rachel's helicopter falling - how is Rachel even awake, is a mistery.
The improbable pair Nico and Annabeth strike again: The girl knows how to fly helicopters, and the boy can fly himself. They save the redhead and the pilot - everything is fine.
"You're not the hero"
"Why did you risk yourself to tell me something I already know?"
Rachel doesn't explain - she can't. But she has a vision that says that he is not the hero. The hero of what? Perseus has no idea. But there's no way any of his cousins is dying for this stupid prophecy.
Suddenly, there's a drakon there. Rachel has another prophecy - Perseus fears she will walk the path that led May Castellan to destruction - that only a child of Ares will be able to kill it.
Bad news: All children of Ares are otherwise out of battle.
Clarisse is resting after a nasty concussion - and her brothers and Apollo's children are fighting yet again because Lee Fletcher is in no condition to stop them and Michael Yew is dead. Ares' side refuses to fight without the chariot - which Cabin 7 has hidden somewhere.
The best they can do is fend the drakon off until a miracle occurs. And it does: Clarisse, in full armor, manages to lead her brothers into battle.
Clarisse is dead. Something shatters inside of Perseus - and he leaves the drakon for the Ares' children to solve - he can't kill it anyway - and starts to vaporize the army behind it.
He is so caught up in bloodlust, that he almost misses Clarisse slaying a dragon. Clarisse, who has no armor. Clarisse, who is alive.
Ethan's curse rang true - Clarisse's weapon took something from her.
Silena is a traitor. She is also dead - which makes her a martyr, and probably going to reunite with her boyfriend in Elysium.
He remembers how easy is to fall for Luke's charm - he was - is - still in love with the guy. Percy thought the son of Hermes could do no wrong - and he wonders how much of his rage against the gods sprout from his influence.
Something evil inside of Perseus's mind tells him she deserved it. It tells Perseus that better her than Clarisse - but he shuts it down, and concentrates on his shining red friends.
He hates Ares. But he might just have an okay side if he can produce such a magnificent daughter.
Silena is the Patroclus to Clarisse's Achilles, and the Drakon is Hector - and the daughter of Ares is sure to parade its dead body.
It's the first time they feel like they are winning. It doesn't last - but as he hugs Clarisse tightly, he thinks he might cry of relief.
Clarisse looks tough - but she is a wonderful human being. She loves Silena with her whole heart - even more than she loves Chris, her best friend. Silena might've been in love with Charles - but she and Clarisse? They are soulmates.
The damned Pythos is following Perseus - and he is done with it. He knows where hope will survive best. Rachel wants him to give it to Hestia - but he owns the fire goddess nothing.
She has never interfered, not once, to help the dozens of demigods with no family that is abandoned in Cabin 11, and he won't forgive her for it.
He sacrifices hope to Persephone because that's what spring is. Spring is the hope of a new life. Maybe, Perseus thinks, it'll convince his father to come.
They go down to make their final stand against the forces of Kronos. There's not a lot of them - but they're not getting through those doors.
Well, his father doesn't come. But Poseidon does, with his whole army, Tyson and Thalia behind him, and the scales seem to turn.
And then Kronos cuts the barrier. Perseus can see his Mom (why is his Mom here with a handgun?!) and Poseidon fighting against the monsters under the eyes of extremely confused mortals.
Some are trying to break the barrier - but it's futile. Kronos has corraled them like sheep for the slaughter.
It's just him, Grover, Annabeth and Nico, fighting against Kronos vanguard - which is big, but not as strong as they are.
Kronos passes him without resistance - Ethan follows, but there's anger in his eyes - not for Percy, but for the monster he is leashed to. Alabaster is not there.
As soon as Kronos powers stop working on them, the four follow the titan - and some things never change, no matter the universe.
This time, it's Nico who falls because of Hera - it's her curse over all of her husband's bastards.
Ethan takes one look at Perseus, and they don't even need to fight. They have been friends for longer than they have been enemies - and they both loathe the gods, but Kronos is as much of an all-powerful controller being as any of the Olympians.
They battle against Kronos - Perseus has only his ax against his scyther - a true Underworld fight.
Ethan dies. And Perseus bloodlust consumes him - it clouds his eyes and he can only keep fighting.
"If... if we've had cabins... and they had thrones"
It's true, and more than ever, Perseus wishes Kronos wasn't such a bastard. He wouldn't bother killing the gods - but the titan is a way worse option.
"LUKE, PLEASE" It's Annabeth. He doesn't have her faith - she didn't saw his transformation. But he tries anyway because he loves Luke just as much as he hates Kronos.
"Luke, remember our summer" But his words are caught up in his throat when the titan throws him against the wall.
But the amalgamation of his friend and an all-powerful being looks confused, so props for his genius best friend.
Kronos shows them a rainbow message of Typhon - and that's where Perseus it's pretty sure he starts liking his father.
Because the Lord of the Dead opens up the earth and gets out in a black chariot guided by skeletal horses like a king. By his right side, is Persephone, in armor battle as a queen should be. By his left, is Demeter, who looks every single bit like the matron she is supposed to be.
Behind him, a hundred thousand dead roars. Charon is mounting Cerberus - and literal hell is unleashed upon the Father of Monsters.
The gods strike down Typhon, sending him back to be locked away - this time, in the depths of Tartarus instead of Mount Etna.
Kronos gets mad. Utterly, undoubtedly mad. He talks about burning Luke's body. Then he hurts Annabeth and breaks two promises in one fell swoop.
"Luke.... remember family" It's what Annabeth utters, but Perseus, already certain of their own demise, is crying now.
"That summer Luke, you promised to never hurt her again. You remember it? YOU PROMISED LUKE!!"
Annabeth's promise was already broken - he had hurt her, all those years ago, in Mt. Othrys. But the promise he made to Percy - that he would never hurt her again - is new and broken, in the river Styx no less.
Luke regains his own body, for a minute, and Perseus runs to him like a man in a desert with no water.
"Please, please tell me there's a way to undo this, Luke, please, please"
"There isn't one, Percy" And it's the first time he hears Luke call him Percy, Percy and not Perseus, in his own voice, in two years. Percy cries.
"We... we don't have much time, hellebore. Give me Annabeth's dagger. Before he... before he takes back"
Luke calls him hellebore and it makes him start crying all over again. He gives him the dagger - and Luke kills himself, taking Kronos out with him.
Luke doesn't need to ask if Percy has ever loved him - Percy kept loving Luke, one-sided as it was, even when Kronos was there.
He still crying over Luke's body when the gods arrive. Luke is dead. Ethan is dead. Silena is dead. Michael Yew is dead. Charles is dead.
He lost three of his best friends in two days. Ethan is dead. Luke is dead. Luke is dead.
Perseus can't stop crying. They take Luke's body away - but he can't stop. Annabeth explains what happened to the gods - most of it, anyway. Apollo says he is in shock - his father says he is a hero.
Perseus doesn't feel like a hero. Was this all worth it? Was it worth it the pain and the death and the suffering?
Persephone touches him - and he has no tears to cry anymore. She can't hug him here, but she'll do so later.
He stares at the walls, listening to his friends being awarded - compensated by their siblings and friends' deaths - with a blank stare. Perseus wants his mom.
They call for him. He raised his head but doesn't bother getting up. He just saved their asses - for the fifth time in a roll. He deserves to grieve.
They offer him immortality. A place between the gods.
He laughs. Zeus looks murderous, but he can't stop laughing.
"My apologies, but I have to refuse," he says. But in his mind, he is thinking about how could they even think he might want to sit between them and be an all-powerful being, be another god ignoring his children and messing with mortal lives while thousands die for him.
"Promise me, on the river Styx, that you'll give me the wish that I want."
They promise him, that if it's within their capabilities, they shall grant him his wish.
"I wish for every child at the age of twelve to be claimed. I wish for cabins in Camp Half-Blood, for every single minor god, and my own father. I wish for Calypso to be free, and to the demigods from the opposite side of this war to be given amnesty. It's not their fault. It's not any of our faults."
"You dare to-" Zeus begins, but Percy is really tired of Zeus.
"We fought your war, we won your battles. We, the unclaimed and rejected stowaways of Cabin 11. We, the children of minor and Underworld gods. We deserve respect. Just like my father deserves a throne, just like the minor gods deserve justice."
"Don't you fear us?" Athena asks, something weird shining in her eyes.
"I thought I would be dead today. At least if I die now, I'm dying for something I believe in."
It stays unsaid that he doesn't believe in them. The other demigods look at him worried - but he is not afraid of the gods.
They grant his wish. Some of them aren't happy with it, but they have to do it. He meets Calypso at the front gates of Olympus - and her smile can brighten the pits of Tartarus. He sees Alabaster talking with Lou Ellen - they are both crying.
He thinks it's the end - it's not. Thalia tells him Rachel left for Camp in her Pegasus - and his father has lift the curse, the Prophecy is gone, but he fears for his best friend.
Perseus is too tired for shadow travel - he does it anyway. He flickers, but anyway, he is too late.
It works. Rachel - his best friend - is the new Oracle. Someone jokes they can't be together anymore and Rachel lifts an eyebrow.
"We never were. Didn't you see the last few hours?" Well, he did out himself. Mostly - they might say it's just friendship, and he will hate the way they twist it. Luke wasn't a villain, and Perseus isn't a pure hero with a heart of gold.
Perseus is healing from lost love - and Annabeth is too. His crush on her was only a crush, he thinks - She is his best friend first and foremost. They cry together at the bonfire that burns away the shrouds of 43 demigods - from both sides - and 16 hunters of Artemis. Their souls all rest in Elysium now.
Alabaster comes back to Camp and helps his siblings to build the new Cabin for Hecate, full of spelled blocks and magic chimneys. Clovis and Tyene have their hands full with their own cabins - it doesn't help they keep getting sidetracked with naps.
Somehow, Nico, Thalia, and his bond over helping construct Cabin 13 - They are both way too invested in the goth vibe, mostly because Cabin 1 looks like a temple, and Cabin 3 looks like a beach cabin. And both of them are so over it.
Perseus doesn't want a goth cabin - he is fighting against the aesthetic for years - but sometimes, there are no arguments. His Cabin is made of black marble, and there are skulls everywhere, with torches shining with green fire. Outside, at least. Inside, it looks like Persephone's garden, with input from the queen herself. It's ready just shy of the end of summer vacation.
Rachel tells the next Great Prophecy. Perseus isn't such a positive person to think it won't affect him - he hopes at least it'll wait until he is done with High School.
That night, he dreams of the blonde boy again - it's his first night without nightmares since the battle. He has a scar in his lip, and his green eyes pierce Percy's soul. Perseus wonders if they'll ever meet, wonders if this boy is one of the Seven of the Prophecy.
But alas, Perseus lets it go. The summer is over - he is sixteen, somehow. He is alive and going to go back to his mortal life and his junior year, and grief. Not everything is fine - but eventually, it will be.
It's not the end. Not yet.

(The outfits in the photo are not what's described in the story, but I liked the picture.)
A/n: To make this easier to write, I'm just going to use places that pertain to me - make it less confusing when I'm writing and while you're reading. You can find the "next part" in my March Mendes Madness Masterlist under 03.25
Summary: this is what happened before Shawn's minor slip up at an awards show.
***
My phone buzzes on my desk and I sigh, looking up from my study guide. 2:32 a.m. my phone read.
Bubba 💞
"Shawn, it's late. Are you okay?"
"Let's get married," he says out of the blue.
"What? Are you drunk?"
"No," he answers seriously. "I just don't want to wait anymore. Why should we have to? We're in love, right?"
"Well, yes. But-"
"I want to marry you. Right now. I want a house with you. I want kids with you. I want us to make grocery lists together. And I was just laying here in bed and I realized how much it fucking sucks falling asleep without you. And I know that I can't be anymore in love with you than I am right now. I want to marry you," he says and takes in a deep breath.
I didn't know what to think. We've talked about this, sure, but it always for when I got out of school.
"What do you say, pumpkin?"
"I want all of that, too," I start. "But I'm still in school. We can't let our first year and a half basically be long distance - even more so than usual, it would seem."
He sighs, "I thought you'd say that. Which is why I should tell you... I bought us a house in San Angelo. It's on the lake, like you've always told me you wanted. I'm ready to move down there with yoh if you tell me that you'll marry me."
My eyes burn with tears, maybe because it was so late and I was running on a total of three hours of sleep, or maybe it was because of the craziness of his request. "You're sure about this?" I take in a sputtery breath. "Like you really want to marry me? You want to spend the rest of your life with me of all people?"
"I do. And I already asked your dad. He wasn't exactly thrilled with the idea of us doing this so young, but I promised it wouldn't interfere with your studies and that we'd stay here until you've graduated. He said that as long as you said yes, then so did he. So? What do you say, y/n? Will you marry me?"
I giggle - this time I know, for a fact, it's because of the absurdity of the situation. I'm talking to my boyfriend of three years at 2:30 in the morning, and he's asking me to marry him. I have an exam in two days that I should be studying for, but my guide sits abandoned on my desk while I pace the room back and forth. "This is absolutely insane. You know that right?"
"Is this your way of saying yes?" He asks, his voice hopeful.
I bite back the smile that transforms my face, "yes," I whisper.
His laugh is so soft and happy, and I blush because I made that laugh happen. "I'll make all the arrangements. Come Saturday afternoon, you will be my wife."
"Whoa. That fast?"
"Yes," I know he nodded on the other side. "I told you I didn't want to wait anymore. Now go get some sleep, you can study in the morning. Right now, though, I want my fiancé to be well rested."
I shake my head, "I love you," I say in pure bliss.
"Good night, future wife. I love you more."
"Good night, future husband. I love you most."
---
"You're sure you're okay with not having a huge wedding?" Shawn asked outside the courthouse.
I look down at my outfit, black shirt, cream skater like skirt - the bottom hem littered with flowers - And black stilettos that I was already ready to slip out of. I'd always imagined a big flowy white gown, but when I look over at Shawn - dressed in a white button up, a few buttons naturally undone, and signature black jeans and Chelsea boots. He looked perfectly content just like that and I couldn't ask for more. I didn't need the big fancy wedding as long as I had the man of my dreams standing next to me.
"I'm okay," I say finally, taking his hand in mine. "I just want to marry you already. I don't care how."
He caresses my knuckles and leans in to press a sweet kiss to my lips. I hum in acknowledgement and kiss back, placing my free hand behind his neck. "Then let's go do this."
---
Everyone we want it here. Our parents, siblings, Andrew, the band, my aunt and uncle, my two best friends, Josiah, and Brian. This is all I needed.
"Shawn, if you would..."
My beautiful boy clears his throat, "y/f/n y/m/n, I may not have known you my whole life, but it definitely feels as if I have. In these three years we've been together, I've watched you grow into this beautiful, confident young woman who I am so lucky to have by my side through my crazy, fast paced life." He clears his throat, shaking his head with a soft smile. "I never thought the day would come when I met someone who's soul matched mind. You're my other half, pumpkin. I know a million little things about you and I can't wait to learn a million more. I love you more than should be humanly possible. The way you do your nails every Sunday afternoon, like clockwork. How you scrunch up your face when you're annoyed. The way your laugh, when it's completely real, fills up a room with nothing but brightness."
I giggle through the threatening tears. Shawn wipes away the one straggler tear. "The way you'd probably rather do anything but watch Harry Potter for the hundredth time, but you sit through it anyway because you know it's my favorite. I'm just... I'm so in love with you and I want to spend the rest of my life proving that I am. You are my forever person and I wouldn't have it any other way."
He catches a couple more of my fallen tears and I melt at the soft gesture.
"Y/n?"
I take in a shuddery breath, "I don't know entirely what to say. I tried writing down how I felt about you a billion times. I tried writing these vows the second we got off the phone the other night. There are not enough words in the English language to tell you how I feel. But I know that my entire being is on fire with just the brush of your hand against mine. Shawn, I fell in love with you when all you were to me was an international pop star, who had no idea u even existed. I was about sixteen then. And then god put you in my path when I was seventeen and I haven't turned back since. When we met, I didn't meet Shawn Mendes: superstar. I just met Shawn: a regular guy just living his life. There was never this moment of celebrity to fan; it was instantly friend to friend."
He pushes a strand of hair behind my ear and I can't help but smile. "You make it entirely too easy to love you. And I do. More than anyone else in the world. I can't believe how lucky I was to find my other half at only seventeen, and to be standing here, three years later, completely giving myself to you. I love you more than you will ever know, bubba, and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you."
---
"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."
"Finally," Shawn mumbles, pulling me against his hard chest. His large hands rest on my cheeks and kisses me with so much love and passion. I laugh into the kiss and pull away. "You're my world, Mrs. Mendes," he whispers into my hair, holding me tight.
I bury my head into his chest, "I have never loved my name more than I do in this moment."
He hums, "I love you so much."
---
Shawn stands up, holding his wine glass. "I would like to propose a toast to my beautiful wife," he stops and smiles for a second. "Guys, I get to say that for the rest of my life. That's- wow, that's the greatest gift I could ever receive." The whole table awes, the women, of course placing their hands over their heart. "I just want to say that I am so lucky to have found you when I did. And even more lucky that you agreed to marry me. I fall more and more in love with you every day. Y/n, baby you are my biggest blessing, and I could not be more grateful for our time together. Now, let's go change your name to Mendes on everything."
We all laugh, but he I know he's serious. Bevause I've been thinking the same thing since I said 'I do.'
He leans down and pecks my lips gently. I hum and pull away as he sits back down. "You're the perfect human being," I whisper, taking his hand in mine. I bring it to my lips and smile at the single silver band that now decorates his left ring finger.
Brian stands next. "Well, I too would like to say a few kind words about the happy couple."
"Oh no," Shawn and I say in unison.
"Y/n, when you guys first met, I knew that Shawn had met his soul mate. It was undeniable, the chemistry between you two. Everyone thought you were moving too fast, and I hate to admit that for a second there, I thought so too. But then I realized, there was no other pace for you guys to go. And you couldn't be moving that fast, when it took six months for you guys to say 'I love you.'" I laugh at that. "Your relationship began at such an awkward time for the both of you. But you shoved any doubt that anyone had away and you powered through. And now here you are, three years down the road, married. I'm so proud to be able to call you both my best friends."
Everyone takes turns toasting us, and it's all beautiful, but I just really wanted to be alone with my husband.
A couple more hours pass before we're back in my car, Shawn takes my hand and just stares at it for a while.
"What are you doing, bubba?"
He looks up at my through cloudy eyes, "You're my wife," he says, barely above a whisper. "God, I'm so lucky."
"Shawn, are you crying?" I reach for his face with my free hand. His eyes are red as he stares at me. "Why are you crying, hon?"
"Because we're married. I'm married to the love of my life. I don't- I don't think I could ever be any happier than I am today. Today was better than any show I've ever played, any award I've ever won, and place I've ever been. Today is the absolute greatest day of my life."
