i've finally drawn my current ryder twins (and changed their middle names again in the process lmao).
[i feel like the screenshots didn't do talis' mid-crisis 'holy shit i just DIED' haircut so obviously i had to make it a little more chaotic yk lol.]
edit: mateo is younger by a year and half because he was in stasis longer. pretty much everyone considers him as old as talis only because he was only in a coma and not technically sleep, but talis hangs this over his head. he'll never live it down.

Yay, I finished Scott and Peebee's romance, just Scott/Jaal to go and I'll have completed my goal of trying out every romance option in Mass Effect: Andromeda! 🥳🎉
But I, um, backed up to where we landed the first time on Kadara so Scott and I could, wellllll... So we could
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Awwwww yeahhhhh, that was my expression, too, Scott! Yep. I literally clicked that trigger faster than any other in the game, except maybe for...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ahem. Now, onward to Jaal! (Sorry for the detour, babe, you know I can't resist Reyes. I might, er, also be doing a little bit of very light flirting with Gil, too. As one does, you know.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jaal: ...the absolute heck? :(
Me and Scott: We just have so much love to give. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️

why did Peebee get so much hate? her enthusiasm for the Remnant culture is cute and her energetic disposition is a nice contrast to the other teammates' more serious personalities
every team mate, with the exceptions of Drack and Jaal, that you pair Peebee with on missions act so mean or rude to her.
i didn't pay much attention to ME:A when it first came out (cuz i wasn't into ME back then) but i do remember seeing people hate on Peebee, so when i first started ME:A recently i expected her be a SUPER annoying character and was very confused when she...wasn't at all like that. lol

we oughta interact more, not enough mass effect mutuals =(
also who is your favorite: male romance, female romance, and just general companion?
yes we really ought to!! I'm so sorry about leaving this in my inbox, things have been so hectic this past week and a bit! And fuck yeah I'm always down to talk about Mass Effect!!
favourite male romance: I actually haven't. done any of them fully except part of ME1 Kaidan (who died 😭) and ME2 Garrus one time. and part of Liam and Jaal's romances. I hear good things about ME3 Kaidan tho and I'm kind of tempted to let him live again in my next playthrough even though it's supposed to be Ashley's turn to survive lol
Favourite female romance: Vetra!!! my cool spiky space wife who i miss every day 🥺 also Jack's romance is so good, especially when modded to reintroduce her canon bisexuality, my beloved 🥰
fav companion: ohh tough call. Huge fan of Tali and Miranda (parental traumas 🤝 parental traumas), and I'm also very taken with Peebee she's such a hot mess disaster of a woman <3 and Jaal is just such A Swell Guy you know?
thank you for the ask!! Would love to know about your ME favs too 👀

that video of the two big girls trying to get tater to play makes me snort- is sushi's playstyle always "manhandle me :DDD", or is this a peebee specific play?
I've always said Sushi is very easy to bully and very hard to offend. Her play style is definitely "let's run and play and wrestle and biteyface" but she just sort of expects the other dog to kick her ass. And then if the other dog ever doesn't kick her ass (sorry Stellina) she doesn't know what to do with herself except to continue bodyslaming in hopes that her ass will at some point get kicked.
Phoebe's play style, and the play style of every single doberman I've ever known, is "bodyslam, punch, bite, thrash, this is a great game, biting you biting you biting you" which I think Sushi is a little too used to between Creed and then Ashen and now Phoebe.

Mass Effect Mod Pet Peeve
I just randomly want to reiterate something that annoys me among the Mass Effect Modding community. It has nothing to do with gameplay tweaks, or adding new cutscenes or changing some incremental shit for the sake of lore or whatever. It has to do with this... STOP REMOVING PEEBEE'S MASK!
Tumblr media
I'm serious, this has always bugged me and it still does. I get Andromeda isn't well loved, I have my own complaints, but this one thing fans do pisses me off something fierce.
From a practical standpoint it's very simple, Andromeda's Asari all have the same face. Every single one has the same face. It's super fucking jarring. The only exception is Peebee who not only has a unique shape and structure for her face's model, but she also has the mask, which helps her standout from the overload of Andromeda Asari who quickly begin to bleed into each other as soon as you see at least two next to one another.
Tumblr media
If you're going to mod anything, why not mod the Asari's faces so they, you know, don't look like the same butt ugly clone pasted over and over again. And that's not a knock against unconventional concepts of beauty or anything, I'm saying they look bad as character designs, I'm saying they don't look right! You can have a frumpier Asari, but they shouldn't all look like the same level of very garbage puffed up cheeks and oversized noses. At least change their eye sizes or something!
PeeBee is the only one that actually looks well-designed. She's not drop dead gorgeous or supermodel levels of hot, she's cute, adorable, charming. She works! And the mask is part of that, because it gives her what all these other Asari are lacking... dynamic personality! This is important for characters and especially someone like PeeBee because the mask is her entire point.
PeeBee does not act like traditional Asari, she is very far removed from someone like Liara who reveres her people's culture and legacy. PeeBee wants to stand out from that, she doesn't want to be beholden to it, she does not like strings and having to live up to cultural expectations assigned to her by her species is a string she wants to cut. So she wears a black makeup mask to distinguish herself and her individuality. She is saying "I am unique, I cannot be tied down!" PeeBee's entire arc is basically about that, the mask is a symbol of her insecurity and her standoffishness.
PeeBee is introverted, guarded, does not expect to last long among people. She lives in an escape pod because she expects to wear out her welcome and she'd rather make cutting the strings less painful. Therefore, it's better to pretend you're fine with being tossed out on your ass than it is to worry about when it will happen. This is the result of her escaping a toxic relationship that was not going well for her. And on the Tempest, she needs to learn to open up to people, to trust them and to not assume they are waiting to get rid of her. She needs to learn she is not disposable.
The Mask is a symbol of both her assertion of individuality and her introverted protective nature. That she won't let just anyone in to see her true self because she does not want to be hurt again. It is why when she admits, during her romance arc, that she WANTS the strings that it's such a big deal to her. She is finally ready to attach herself to someone, to the crew, to other people, again.
And what do modders think about all this highly important characterization, subtle story-telling, unique design aesthetic and facial recognition codification? "She looks like a Raccoon! Get rid of it and replace it with nothing or a generic Asari facial design."
Congrats to every Modder who does this, you've failed every basic tenant of character design in favor of trying to make her look "prettier" to yourself. You suck, just like everyone who turns the women of Skyrim into plastic Barbie Dolls sucks. No, I'm not gonna sugar coat it for you. If you remove PeeBee's mask through mods, you are sacrificing character for a ridiculous preconception of standard beauty. You have terrible taste and you probably make Serana in Skyrim look like she got Botox injections somehow. Please, never design a game yourself, you're shit at it.
That's it, that's all I feel like screaming about right now. PeeBee is a great character, fuck you for trying to ruin that if you've tried.

Oh no now I'm falling in love with Reyes :')
God damnit, between Jaal, vetra, Reyes, and Peebee, I'm losing my damn mind!
I can't pick shfjfjfjfj
Now I'm more caught between vetra, Jaal, and Reyes than anything else
(however I've also seen playthroughs plenty of times and I know the romance paths for everyone EXCEPT the humans in this game, so maybe... Maybe I'll go for the fun-loving Reyes AFTER I smooch my big pretty turian)

Okay everyone seems to really like wu&io but it took me a couple of listens to actually kind of like it and even then some of the songs are kind of mid (not golden hour my babygirl tho)
with wubio i had already heard the entire EP except for portrait, and portrait is my favorite on the EP so i immediately loved it! with peebee it actually did take me a while to warm up to some of the songs, and the same thing had happened there where we had heard most of the songs except with pb the production/mixing was just all over the place like i couldnt understand a word wilbur was singing until like a week later lmfao

Sara’s Sick
Jaal woke up to a normal day on the Tempest. He had gathered his hygiene care kit to take with him into the shower for his morning routine. As he jumped down into the lounge area of the ship, he heard a blood curdling scream coming from the med-bay.
The pathfinder’s bedroom door opened and Scott came barreling out of his room and into the med-bay yelling expletives. Jaal could hear Scott yelling at Dr. Lexi about sedatives and tying Sara down. Dr. Lexi was struggling to sound calm.
Drack and Suvi were looking out of the crew’s quarters. Vetra, Liam, and Gil had walked in from the cargo bay. Peebee, Cora, and Kallo were up on the catwalk, looking down on everything. Everyone was looking at each other, uncertain of what to do.
Everyone new that was Sara screaming, and Scott and Dr. Lexi sounded like they were fighting against her, but why?
Jaal couldn’t help but wring his hands together.
Suvi came over to him and put a comforting hand on his. He gave her an appreciative smile.
Eventually Sara’s crying died out and all was silent except for the quiet murmuring between Scott and Dr. Lexi.
Then Scott walked out.
“What was that all about,” Peebee asked.
Scott sighed, tired, and said, “Unfortunately, Sara decided to hide being sick, again, and I found her passed out in the bathroom last night. She’ll be fine, she’s just being difficult.”
“She sounds terrified,” Suvi said, her voice laced with concern.
Jaal couldn’t believe that a crewmate of his was so sick. He doesn’t remember her acting odd, though it has been a while since he’s heard her sing... Or smile. How bad is the sickness? Will she die?
“Yah, she’s always hated the doctor,” Scott sighed again
“Uh, I hate the doctor too, but whatever that was, was beyond hating it,” Peebee stated.
“Yah, I know,” Scott yawned, “She’s always been so dramatic. Don’t worry. Until she’s better, she’ll be drugged to keep her calm.”
“Isn’t that a little extreme,” Cora asked.
“Do you all want to continue listening to her screaming like that?”
“Can we see her?” Jaal asked, the gravity of someone being so severally sick was eating at him, and he was willing to set aside formalities for the time being, if it meant being able to check on her.
“Sara’s fever makes her delirious so she won’t be much of a conversationalist, but you can ask Dr. Lexi,” Scott yawned then said, “I’m going back to bed. Doc, I’ll be here to help if you need me to hold her down again.”
“That won’t be necessary, Ryder, but I’ll keep that in mind,” the doctor’s voice flitted out from the med-bay.
Scott went back to his room with a huge yawn and the automatic door closed behind him.
Jaal looked at his crewmates as they looked amongst themselves. Then slowly everyone went back to their morning routine.
Jaal was on edge as the day went on. As Scott woke up later that day, he and the crew made their way over to Havarl to do a few side missions there.
Jaal was on the team with Cora and Liam. He focused on the job in front of him, but when he was still he couldn’t help but think of Sara sick on the Tempest. Scott and Cora was talking together as they were going over the map.
Jaal watched Liam walk up to him.
“Hey, you okay?”
“No. How much longer does Sara have to live?”
“Woah, now. She’s not going to die.”
“How are you so sure?”
Liam put a comforting hand on Jaal’s shoulder and said, “Yah, it’s concerning that she wanted to hide being sick and that she’s so sick that she’s delusional, but it will be okay. Humans are super resilient and Lexi’s an amazing doctor. She just needs her rest.”
Jaal’s frown deepened.
“Hey, look. After this we can visit her.”
“It’s not considered rude?”
“Heck, no. Depending on the sickness, it’s actually encouraged. Humans get sick all the time. Visiting a sick person helps build community and solidarity. She’ll need our support.”
Jaal nodded.
“Alright guys, come on. We figured out where people saw the possible turian sightings,” Scott yelled.
Jaal stood up and followed his team.
Once they were back on the Tempest and had dressed down into their casual wear, Jaal was walking with Liam to the med-bay, a bundle of wild flowers in hand. They were actually weeds, native to Havarl, but Liam said they were pretty and that would be enough.
An ear splitting shriek came out of the med-bay and the two gentlemen ran to the sound.
They busted in to see Sara’s arms strapped to the medical bed, an I.V. drip tapped to her arm. The heart monitor was going haywire above her head as Dr. Lexi had a syringe at the ready filled with something only she knew was in it.
“Sara, please. I promise, I’m not going to hurt you, but if you keep fighting me, you’re going to leave me no choice but to keep you sedated.”
A sobbed scream came out of her as she fought against her restraints.
Jaal was at her side, his big hand enveloping hers.
“Sara. You’re all right. You’re safe.”
Sara huffed and heaved as she squinted up at him. Her legs weren’t kicking out wildly, but her hands wriggled and strained against the restraints.
Liam approached, but when Sara saw him she lunged and hissed at him. That made both Liam and Jaal jump back.
“Okay then,” Liam said, “I’m going to go.”
Jaal watched his human friend leave, and see him give him a good luck salute.
“Sara,” Dr. Lexi said calmly.
Jaal saw Sara whip her head around at the doctor and she growled threateningly at the asari.
Jaal put his hand back on top of hers.
She looked back up at him. Uncertainty and fear was etched so deeply on to her face, that he can’t even see where a smile should be on her anymore.
Jaal’s other hand went up to her head and he slowly smooth down her hair.
“It’s okay. You’re safe.”
She gave him a look like she couldn’t believe him.
“Sara, look at me,” Lexi said.
Sara did, though it was with a sneer.
“This isn’t going to hurt you. This is for your health,” Lexi said as she motioned at the syringe in her hand, “This will help make you feel better sooner. Okay?”
Sara had stopped struggling against her restraints, but she had managed to grip Jaal’s pointer finger. Jaal didn’t like how hard she was squeezing him. Not because it hurt, but because of how scared she was.
“I’m only going to insert this into your I.V. I won’t have to poke you directly, okay?”
Sara said nothing as she stared at the asari doctor.
“I’m coming closer now,” Dr. Lexi stated as she moved forward.
Jaal felt Sara’s grip on his finger tighten. Other then that she didn’t move.
Lexi slowly and deliberately showed Sara what she was doing. As soon as the doctor had the syringe connected and was pushing in the plunger, only then did Sara look away and start crying into Jaal.
“It’s okay. You’re okay.” Jaal repeated as many times as it needed to be said as he held her head with one hand.
It was an awkward angle, but he didn’t mind. Soon exhaustion caught up to Sara and she passed out. Jaal leaned away from her and Lexi pulled a blanket up and over her shoulders that was originally kicked to the floor.
The asari sat down in her little rolling chair and held her head in her hands with a sigh. Jaal looked around and found the flowers he brought forgotten on the floor. He picked them up and sat them on the little pull out nightstand by the medical bed.
Jaal then got the lounge chair near the large monitor on the wall in the med-bay and sat it next to the bed. Just as exhausted, he plopped himself into the chair.
The two of them sat silently as they listened to Sara’s heart monitor even out as deep sleep set in.
“What does she have, Doctor,” Jaal finally asked as he looked at her tear stained face.
“The flu. She has a normal case of the flu,” Lexi said, sounding exasperated and sad.
“This is normal?”
Lexi swiftly stood up and said in an even, angry tone, “No. This isn’t normal Jaal. She should have came to me the moment she was feeling ill in any way, but she hid it and she let it feaster. Working herself ragged until her brother had to drag her to me,” Lexi covered her face, “She doesn’t trust me. How am I supposed to do my job if she doesn’t trust me? How am I supposed to do my job if she doesn’t talk to me?”
Jaal frowned sympathetically. It was no secret to the crew how Sara hid from the doctor, just as much as, if not more so, than Peebee does. However, unlike Peebee, she was never hostile towards the doctor. Sara always had kind words of encouragement for the asari, and even tried polite small talk with her every once in a while.
This was the first time anyone has seen Sara be so hostile towards anyone that wasn’t an enemy.
“I’m sorry, Jaal,” Lexi stated as she looked back up at him, “My patients is being tested.”
“I think you’re doing a wonderful job,” Jaal said encouragingly.
The doctor breathed out a shake-y breath, then said, “She seemed calmer with you here. Whatever is going on in her head, the unfamiliarity of you most likely helps to ground her.”
“I don’t plan on leaving for a while longer.
***
Sara woke up to the feeling of Pepae nuzzled under her chin, sleeping. She made to move her hands to pet him, but found that she couldn’t move. She heard a horrific, beep-beep-beep, start to pick up speed as she strained and struggled against what was binding her down.
A sob escaped her and she was about to start thrashing, when she felt a large warm hand hold hers.
“Sara.”
She looked through blurry tears to see Jaal’s purple face. He looked tired.
“Jaal? What’s going on? Where am I?”
“You’re sick. You’re on the Tempest med-bay.”
The beep-beep-beeping picked up higher, and Sara strained against the restraints. She wanted to run. To hide.
“Sara,” Jaal said evenly, “I’ll untie you, but you have to promise to stay in the bed. You’re not well. Do you think you can do that?”
Sara laid still in the bed, but the beep-beep-beeping was still moving to the beat of her terrified heart.
Pepae had woken up from all her wiggling and the pyjak was ghosting his little anteater/elephant like trunk over Sara’s face as she felt Jaal untie her. Once she was free, Sara shakily raised her bruised arms up to wrap around Pepae. She curled in on herself around the pyjak.
Pepae’s little hands ghosted over her face and reached up into her hair. He started looking for bugs to clean out and eat. A quivering laugh escape Sara as the relief of having her pet with her made her feel so much better.
A new hand joined on her head and she looked over her shoulder at Jaal as he smoothed down her hair. Sara looked away and pressed her face into Pepae’s stomach.
“I was trying to avoid all this,” Sara admitted.
The beeping was starting to calm down.
“I know. You gave everyone a scare.”
“How long have I been out of it?”
“Three days.”
Sara groaned.
“Does Dr. Lexi truly bring you so much discomfort that you would rather die from a fever than go to her for help?”
Sara tensed at the question, but he didn’t sound accusatory, just curious and sad sounding.
Sara tried to relax as she said, “It’s not her fault... I don’t mean to make her job any harder than it is... It’s just...,” Sara laughed at herself, “I’m such a big baby. I need someone to hold my hand at the doctor’s to make me feel better about being there. I’m such a sad excuse for an adult.”
The heart monitor started picking up again.
Sara felt Jaal’s hand leave her head and before she could make herself feel bad about it, she felt two large hands grab her arm and then envelop her hand.
Sara looked over at Jaal as he held her hand as he rested them against his forehead and said, “I’m so sorry we ever made you feel like you couldn’t come to us for help.”
Tears started to well up and spill over. Sara let go of Pepae, to wipe them away. The space monkey moved to the foot of the bed.
“Sorry. Sorry. I don’t know why I’m crying.”
“That’s okay.” He squeezed her hand.
Sara cried and cried and cried. Until she had no more tears to shed. All the while Jaal never let go of her hand and she never pulled away from him.
Finally, she felt tired and all cried out.
Through a froggy voice, she asked, “What time is it anyways?”
“It is 11pm Nexus Standard Time,” S.A.M. stated.
Sara brightened as she looked up at the ceiling.
“You’re a balm for sore ears. How are you Sammy?”
“My processors are optimal even after that cyber attack scare we had yesterday.”
“Oh boy. Bet you and Scott kicked the asses of whoever decided to mess with you two.”
“Not yet, but we’re working on it.”
Sara nodded up at the ceiling.
“I have a get well gift for you.”
Sara gasped and said in a hushed voice, “Do you now?”
“It’s a playlist of soothing music. I sent it to your omni tool. You’ll be able to listen to it when they give it back to you.”
“Oh, Sammy,” Sara cooed, “Thank you. I love it already and I love you too baby bro.”
There was a pause and it made Sara’s smile widen.
“I should leave you be to rest. You’ve had a trying week.”
Sara snickered into her free hand as there was an audible click from S.A.M. logging out of the med-bay’s speakers.
Still chuckling, Sara turned to Jaal and said, “My little brothers are so cute. They get so flustered from little “I love you’s” so easily.”
Sara wasn’t prepared for the soft look Jaal had on his face. Or for what he said.
“I missed seeing your smile.”
If Sara was a cat, her fur would have poofed up from that sentence.
“What--huh--don’t--huh???”
Jaal laughed a tired laugh, then said, “I guess being flustered easily runs in the family.”
Sara couldn’t help her pout and it just made Jaal laugh more.
Sara used her free hand to move the pillow that she was laying on, to cover her face.
Her voice muffled she said, “You can go now. I know you’re tired.”
Despite saying this, Sara didn’t let go of Jaal’s hand.
She heard a chair scoot forward and Jaal said, “I am fine where I am.”
He kept one hand on hers as he relaxed by her.
“I don’t mind...”
The heart monitor started to pick up again.
“You don’t mind what?”
“...Being flustered by you. You should do it more often...”
Jaal squeeze Sara’s hand and the monitor started to slow back down.
“I’ll keep that in mind.”
Last thing Sara remembered before sleep over took her was the feeling of Jaal rubbing his thumb over her knuckles, and Pepae settling in the crook of her free arm and laying his head on her chest.

Finished my recent playthrough of the Mass Effect trilogy and my mom asked me what was I going to do next? I said play through it again and make different choices but let's be honest I'm already heading to Eos.
I love the Mass Effect trilogy, but I LOVE, ADORE CONNECT with Andromeda. I want to be Vetra. I want to date Peebee for all time. I love my disaster Ryder. For no reason whatsoever I named her Whilemina Aurora so her initials spell WAR. Except it wouldn't fit so she's W. Aurora. I figured that's something Alec would have done.

I think there's merit to what you're saying, and these things almost certainly contributed to the game dying, but I think the ultimate failures that doomed Andromeda are threefold:
1) The game was rushed out. This is obviously a frequent issue, but Andromeda had it bad. The game had less graphical fidelity than Mass Effect 1, which was, what, a decade earlier? I'm not normally one to condemn a game solely on its graphics, but the character modeling was awful. The HR administrator whose name escapes me at the moment looked like a clown, every Asari had the same face except for Peebee, and characters were prone to spawn in missing parts of their face, which is... jarring, to say the least. Obviously, beyond graphics, there were a mess of other bugs, but I feel that they weren't much more egregious than your average Bethesda game.
2) The game was empty. This is a complaint I have about a lot of open world games. For some reason, developers seem to equate map size with game quality. While it was cool to explore new worlds and boldly go, the time it took to go around and make it to various quest objectives was... rough, to say the least. ME1 succeeded at this better because the planets you explored were just neat pieces of side content, not fully fleshed out or meant to be, and they told you straight up where you needed to go to finish up. Andromeda had good cartography, but the experience of driving around Hostile Planet #3 lost its charm once you started trying to Skyrim up a mountain because otherwise you're going around the whole goddamn map again just to get to this one spot on the corner of the map that you would never go to except the goddamn quest giver is a hermit.
I think this is a failure compared to the trilogy as a whole because the trilogy was, largely, tight. You could spend time exploring the hubs, and you definitely did in 3 (bordering on the point of excessively), but when you were out playing the game, you were actively doing something.
And 3), perhaps the most damning, EA made it very clear during Andromeda's tenure that they hated their players. Even the people going in in good faith were looking at the state of the game and going, "Uh, hey, what the fuck?" And rather than address the issue, they went immediately into the standby from the ME3 debacle: "You gamers are a bunch of ingrates! You complain about everything, especially stuff that doesn't matter, and criticize a masterpiece because of a few scuff marks!"
I actually really liked Andromeda, and I think that it easily has the best combat of any of the games. The characters were good, I only really disliked Peebee, and that's mostly because her archetype grates on me. The story was good in places and fine in others. I just wish EA hadn't shot Bioware in the foot for it.
The more time I sink into andromeda, the more I suspect the biggest reason it ultimately failed commercially was because of the massive tonal shift I've already mentioned, and how there was probably a pretty big chunk of original trilogy players who simply no longer fit as a demographic, while the game failed to reach the people who might’ve enjoyed it.
The original trilogy, much as I love it, feels a little bit like a wishfulfillment power fantasy for a very obvious demographic. Almost all women are overtly sexy in design and the f/f relationship in the first game seems to be written along the guidelines of 'what would a straight man find hot'; you play as someone cool and confident and powerful, the most specialest human ever, and maybe you aren’t always respected but YOU and the NARRATIVE always know you're right and you get to be rude to and sometimes punch/murder people who disagree with you so it’s fine. The game then salvages all this by means of genuinely well-written characters and arcs, really cool sci-fi tech and lore, a fantastic story, and meaningful and hard-hitting choices and consequences (which also allow and often encourage you to steer away from that exact macho ideal).
Enter andromeda. Instead of being a super powerful supersoldier from the start, you're the kid of one. You barely know what you're doing. Everyone doubts you, including yourself. You don’t get the assuredness of knowing you are Right and Cool that you have as Shepard. You don’t demand that same respect. And I'm sure there are a lot of people who hated that.

Oooo, you play mass effect, it finally clicked in my head. Who do you romance in Andromeda?
Also, I really did enjoy the game regardless of the amount of hate it got
ZOMG, you must've missed me at my most Andromeda obsessed, lol! I haven't actually been able to play it since last November, when my previous computer gave out and then this one has been super lousy. However, as soon as I can hopefully get my Vegas back on and thus be able to GIF (and vid) again, I'm planning on going back to Andromeda to finally finish the big Ryder twins romance GIF project I had going, lol!
In short, I've romanced every single option available except Scott/Peebee and Scott/Jaal. Scott/Peebee was in progress when I got derailed. But here are some posts I've made about various things, if you'd like to see them!
Sara's romances with Jaal, Reyes, Peebee and Vetra
Scott/Cora and the shocking, unexpected Scott/Harry romance 😂😜
I was working on the Scott/Gil vid here
I've vidded Sara/Reyes, Scott/Cora, Scott/Gil and my final vid ever was about Scott and his dad, Alec
Mass Effect: Andromeda incorrect quotes
Me at the bottom talking about doing an Insanity run and showing my Sara in her Mjolnir-like tanky armor plus the name of my crafted weapons 😂
I absolutely adore this game and I've honestly missed playing it so much! Also, did you know that Kate Kennedy aka Kai from Halo is the voice of one of the Angara?
Tumblr media
I romanced Avela as Scott JUST for that fact alone, lol!
Anyway, like I said, I never did get the chance to finish making GIFs for all of my romances and I still hope to finish those last two for Scott. As for which are my favs...
Sara: Reyes. I'm a sucker for that scoundrel, what can I say? 😍😇 But Vetra is a close second. I have to physically restrain myself from flirting with her if I'm planning on romancing somebody else because there's no way I'd hurt my best Turian girl like that! 😱😉
Scott: Gil surprisingly became my favorite "I have to make SURE not to click the flirt options if I'm romancing somebody else" romance. I also, no surprise, loved his romance with Reyes. Cora also was great!
I honestly really enjoyed all of the romance options, except for Keri's (the reporter) and not for any fault of hers but I disliked how she looks kinda uncomfortable with either Ryder flirting with her while she's just trying to do her job. I felt like a real creep, I have to say! 😩Then at the end, after I've annoyed this poor Asari at her workplace this entire time, the "payoff" was we went from a table at the Vortex to Ryder's just suddenly outside of her room? Not even a kiss? 🫤(I legit have headcanoned that Keri never actually let Ryder into her room, just went in herself, closed the door, and left them out in the hall, lol! "That's for continuing to come on to me and never taking the hint while I'm clearly just doing my job, you creep!" 😖😂😉)
If I could've romanced Evfra *points up at his pic above* I totally would have because I'm a sucker for a good "enemies to lovers" trope, lol! And I think Evfra would haaaaate himself for falling for the human Pathfinder. 😍😍😍
I clearly have put a lot of silly thoughts into Andromeda, lol! Anyway, thanks so much for letting me ramble about this! Who did you romance? Have you played as both twins or do you prefer just the one? Default or custom? Do you mod? My computer was coming off the rails at the time so I've only stuck to what's available in-game but I've seen some beautiful Ryder twins and some awesome clothing options with mods. 😉💖💖💖

I'm sure that the other romance options in Mass Effect Andromeda were perfectly lovely. Unfortunately, MEA was a bit like ME1 for me. It didn't really "click" for me with the vast majority of the characters. I liked Drack and, well, Reyes (however obvious his plot was)., but otherwise it was a range of "eh". And sure, perhaps Reyes idea of celebrating our great victory was a bit... unconventional, but I'll be damned if I wasn't disappointed that I couldn't accept and abandon the party. That being said, Reyes didn't need to tell me I have a really bad taste in men. Thanks. I know. And I'd still romance Zaeed or Loghain in a heartbeat.
You can let me know that I do, indeed, have bad taste in men over at Patreon and Society6.

The fact this discourse is not stopping physically harms me.
But to bounce off what both @nerdylilpeebee and @bizarrolord said, Statistics are FUN. Just not in the way you think.
So interesting fact about bringing up the amount of bear attacks vs human attacks. You have to inflate the numbers of the bear attacks to get a percentage. Except you can't. Because a change in population size of bears would drastically change the numbers as a whole. Why? Because Bears are wild animals and OFTEN though not always, are territorial to some degree. They also don't like anything near them most of the time except their own kin.
So if you increased the amount of bears in the world to 165 million, the attacks would not just stay at a constant. Proximity would increase and what you would end up with is far more maulings and far more deaths. So the idea that you can just do simple math to increase the amounts is quite literally BRAIN damage levels of ignorant. And shows you and anyone else using that "method" are incapable of critical thinking. What's more, this man vs bear thing is sexist propaganda. That's like going, "Fathers what would you rather? Your kid be around your baby momma or a stranger" and men going "The stranger" because Women are the NUMBER ONE cause of infanticide. BY A MASSIVE margin. The argument or MvB is stupid, makes zero sense and in a lot of ways is a way to dehumanize men.
Because society PREFERS women in almost all regards. That's not sexist. That's fact. Courts are lenient on women in ALL regards. Women are more likely to get by on their looks in general. Women control sex and reproduction as a function of being alive. They also have the ability to tell a father, "Yeah i don't want it so it's going to die". Men are disposable in society and they have been for a LONG time. "Women and Children first".
Granted. This isn't a slight against women. This is just reality. But it brings me back to the point. Sexual assault is a rare occurrence. Especially in the West compared to some other nations. Like India. So for a western woman to say, "I'd prefer to bear" is to say, I'd prefer the LIKELY Probability of dying, over this LOW chance of being harmed in some way. And to expand in a gruesome way on an early point from Peebee. The bear also has the ability to start eating you AFTER mauling you to a point you can't get away, only for you to be left for OTHER animals or insects, like wasps, flies, ants, spiders, to come and finish the job. And for context, it's very likely that a single swing from the bear would break several bones in your body. You MIGHT die quick. But it's more likely you'd bleed out WISHING a man would find you and save your life.
Why women choose the bear: https://www.whoismakingnews.com/
Don't care. Still irrational. Most men won't hurt you if you get too close. All bears will hurt you if you get too close.
They are territorial, wild animals.
Also, quite a lot of women are not team bear. XD Quite a lot of women understand how sexist and stupid that choice is.
