☆ Honestly, my love for Vasco.

He's my favorite character and one way or another, I am bound to pick up most of my favorite characters as muses. So, Vasco is no different. And I think I've said it before, but I needed a fresh start in the Tumblr rpc. As much as I love my old multimuse blog, I found myself not wanting to be on it as much as I wanted to. So, the mere thought of "what if I picked up Vasco and make a blog for him" popped into my mind. Here we are nearly two years later. His muse isn't going anywhere at all, even if I am not writing much at the moment. That's mainly stemming from the fact I am a bit burnt out.

How did you get into this franchise/fandom?

☆ So, this is a bit of a long story. Just so you - and anyone else reading this - knows the context.

Back in late July, early August, one of my friends gave up his Xbox to me. Just because he had no desire to have it any longer and didn't wish to sell it. Rather, he could sell it, but he wanted to give it to me instead. He also gave up his game to me as well, which is a whole bunch of them. This included Greedfall. Shortly after getting this, I've decided to buy myself a crate so I can organize and keep all my games in one place so it's not being messy. And I organized the games in a way of what games I want to play (top) to games I'm not going to play (bottom). The middle is usually games I've already played but thinking of replaying it. Greedfall being near the top because from the looks of it, it looked interesting.

I found myself growing disinterested in one game after a while. For some reason, while I was trying to figure out what game I should play instead, my mind kept telling me to play Greedfall. For the first time, I've looked up reviews of a game. I usually don't look at reviews of games until after I have gotten into the game or played it. A few games makes an exception but I make an exception to those, given they are big-named games and reviews are bound to pop up with those types of games. Greedfall isn't really a big named game or made by a well-known company.

All the reviews were review when I looked at it and was like, "fuck it, let me play it", especially because most of the reviews kept saying it was a combination of DA:O and Fable. Both games I've grown up with, which pushed me to play Greedfall even more. And knowing me, it will take a bit for me to fall in love with any characters. I may eye a character right away and yet give them time to see if they truly catch my interest. I was eyeing Constantin for a while. Well, my love for that character got overwhelmed by my love for Vasco. I knew the moment I've typed up Vasco into google and saw there's a romance option was the same moment I knew I love his character.

And here we are with me loving Vasco.

Not that far in to Andromeda, and now I'm feeling to urge to replay something else - and it's another game that I'd have to reinstall onto the PS4.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Outer Worlds, GreedFall, and Horizon Hero Dawn (since I still don't have Forbidden West - maybe that's gonna be a Christmas gift - MAYBE)... All of these I'm feeling the desire to pop in and do a new run... Except that isn't how games on the PS4 WORK, you have to clear out the games you aren't playing, redownload all the DLC, you can't just pop in the disc and go, you have to make a COMMITMENT, and all I want is to play a damn game.

Seriously, I resent SO. MUCH. this design decision.

Y'know how I talk up Fantasy Land, where I have access to like some grand Library of Human Imagination, full of all the books, shows, movies, and games I could ever want? Yeah, Fantasy Land also has Fantasy Consoles, which NEVER run out of memory, so this bullshit never has to happen.

I played some of the Mass Effect Legendary Edition and Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town, both of which are like the video game versions of comfort food for me and were a blessing to have while I was sick

and then I tried out Greedfall, which I went into with basically no knowledge except that my bestie loves it, and I really enjoyed it! It has a very loveable cast of characters that I got very attached to, and I was legitimately sad when it ended because I wasn't ready to leave yet

and then! I got early access to Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous because I'm a sometimes-game-reviewer and my editors know exactly what kind of games to offer me in order to get content out of me 😂 so I played a whole lot of that, and now that the full version is out I'm still playing that, when I have time!

Honestly, that depends on how you look at it, lol. from a timeline perspective, i was shipping with Phone Gal for like six years before I knew what selfshipping was. In terms of when I made my blog, I think it was the GreedFall people, my Detective Family (except for Richard and Alice, iirc), and Bentley.

Well, I acquired and played GreedFall bc I'm a sucker for a good Steam sale and I rly enjoyed it except, hot take, I think if you wanna do a character driven RPG you need to have enough dialogue and general content for your companions. I liked the gameplay, liked the combat, loved the overall look of the game, the story was fine, my companions were cool, but they had so little fucking dialogue. I wanted party banter when we were out and about! I wanted more options to chitchat with them. I definitely wanted to get to hang out with my LI and spend more time getting to know them. A good main plotline is not enough to hold up an RPG when interpersonal relationships are a vital game mechanic. I'm supposed to be friends with these people and develop feelings for them, but then once I've done that I get bupkis. I just wanna get drinks with my significant other and watch the sunset and talk about our childhoods and make out on the beach or something COME ON. Where's my "go on a date" miniquest after we do the deed?? Where's my final evening together under the stars cutscene before the final battle? Why do I unlock zero new dialogue after we get together? Bah.

Also if a game is gonna make me spend a zillion hours running around the (beautiful) wilderness with my friends I insist on party banter. IT IS VITAL.

It's fun tho. 7.5/10 will replay.

Name: Tru/"Oi you" Fandoms (that I write for): Dragon Age, mostly. Still the fandom of my heart. Mass Effect, Deus Ex... uh, accidentally GreedFall? I don't know how or when that happened. Two-shot: Hmm... The actual last two-shot I wrote was Terms & Conditions, a very silly Dorian/Inquisitor modern AU where Gal is the guy Dorian hires to stop his late father's house falling apart. Recently? I suspect that's going to be Driftwood, which can stand on its own as a sort of weird post-canon first-meeting AU, but is trying to tempt me to continue it. (Vasco ends up going looking for Tír Fradí, which has disappeared - and finds it. He also finds De Sardet as a highly avoidant tree god of the island, post-Bad Ending, who transformed against her will. And he ends up falling in love with her anyway.) Weird tree gods! Pining by literal pine! An eventual happy ending! More grumpy commentary by Vasco!

Most popular multi-chapter: Either An Unquenchable Flame or Distraction, probably - both juggernaut pairings, the former close to the game's release and the latter with some fancy forbidden romance, so not so surprising. But surprisingly, Prague, 10:42 PM has done really well, considering it's for a small fandom (Deus Ex) and a rarepair age/rank-difference pairing that I thought would be a one-off experiment? I get it, guys. I like sad repressed stoics too.

Actual worst part of writing: Editing - which can be fun, but that "over and over" stage when you're about to post, especially in a longfic if you fear you've lost the spirit of the thing and the character voices and you can't see the wood for the trees. And when I have to remove a whole scene which Jenga-unbalances the fic, and then I have to redux from the top. Basically, most things to do with pacing. How you choose your titles: I like double-meanings and one word titles. If that fails: quote from a song. If that fails: quote from poetry, but very rarely. Do you outline: Only a little. A bulletpointed list of events or noted-down major lines of dialogue, that's usually it.

Ideas I probably won’t get around to but wouldn’t it be nice: Uh... oh god. I blame so many people for some of these.

Post-Destroy ending where John is attempting to build a shed on Rannoch because that's the kind of thing retired people do, right? and Tali is far better at it than him, and it's just... disgusting fluff.

Actually, just reduxing the early John/Tali stuff with a bit more nuance and a stronger style.

Eva and Kaidan, and their mutually wary first meeting. ("Wow, that's a lot of pomade." "Wow, that's a lot of death-glare.")

AU where Gal and Dorian never met in DAI, and after everything went down, Gal tried to fade into the shadows and leave. He ended up working in Tevinter as an occasional informant/odd-jobs guy the way he was pre-Inquisition. He ends up being a gardener for a bitter, wry magister who seems to hate the entire Magisterium, has recently lost his father to political scheming and murder, and wants to take down the entirety of the remaining Venatori with one staff and maybe his teeth if he has to (hi, Dorian). But first, Dorian's going to drink his own body weight in whiskey and be a recluse for a while and start thinking about time magic again. Gal is trying to keep his head down and should definitely not be falling in love with said magister. Who's someday going to end up at one of the more southerly ports, come across a statue of the great Inquisitor, and go, Oh.

Stuff on Jensen's PT and rebuilding himself post-augs. More of Proprioception, basically.

Mer-AU where Marie De Sardet is still a diplomat attempting to make new connections, just not a human one, and it's a disaster. An awkward disaster. Highlights include her being framed as the beast trying to drown their best captain; her attempting to wobble about on brand-new legs and Vasco's coat while everyone assumes the dear captain has had a few too many; her asking Vasco if his "fascinating markings" glow; them getting into a duel, and her (fondly) getting punted off the side of the ship going "Woo-hoo." OK, I wrote a bit of that, but only a 1k doodle I'll probably never return to.

Non-Naut court AU where Marie gets promised to Bastien D'Arcy, because he's a bit of a layabout but he's also rich, popular at court, and amenable to bribe - [cough] suggestion, and the D'Arcys have prominent trading links with the Alliance. Instead she falls for his far less of a social butterfly, tired, worried-numbers-guy brother Léandre, who's pretty damn uncomfortable around Nauts because he's well aware he nearly got sold to them and he is not the favourite.

Straight-up role-reversal AU (another thing where I've put down 1k that I'll probably never return to), where Marie's Naut name is Paz, and she's a fed-up second-mate who's tired of noble idiots and feels a little strange and conflicted about her mark (and has context for it, because they make frequent crossings to Tír Fradí). Also a little more jaded, without the love of her mother, and not nearly as much of a tryhard as Vasco in canon; she ended up here because she had nowhere else to go and the Nauts were like "Ooh, free kid," and she's well aware. She gets stuck escorting the D'Arcy brothers to Tír Fradí for their new venture and is not looking forward to it. Except one of them is intensely bright and wry and keeps asking questions about the ship and noticing shit he is definitely not meant to notice, and they keep ending up in strange conversations, even if he seems really, really wary and uncomfortable about Nauts.

Some vague stuff about Vasco's thoughts on Jonas and that whole side quest, considering he's also a sea-given and implies sea-given take some shit in the Nauts, and also how damn difficult it must be watching a sea-given's parents endeavour to get their kid back when he knows full well his didn't do that for him.

Actually, just more Vasco POV in general, even though he's damn hard to nail down. I've written much pining for him from Marie's perspective, and I'd like to try things from the opposite. This guy's idea of wooing someone perfectly normally is to panic and then recite Baroque poetry. You know he's sappy as hell in the privacy of his own head, even if he's trying not to be.

Jean and Síora having the "I'm a sad healer who just lost my mother and I'm trying so hard not to crumble under the weight of assisting the leader" mutual talk way too late at night around the campfire and maybe him crying on her shoulder a little, with mutual kindness and the beginnings of attraction, and her finally getting past his jokey-smug facade to understand him.

More stuff about Jean's past in general, and how he wanted to be a doctor before he was dragged away from it by looking after Constantin and being nobility.

Síora and Eseld and the ways they changed over the years; something like an exploration of grief and growing her own will and the ways they very differently view the renaigse. Also maybe more about the en ol menawi magic, if I can worldbuild well enough?

I'd also love to do a GreedFall soulmark AU - it's generally not my kind of trope, I'm not into biological determinism type tropes - just because names and aliases and assumed identities are such a mess in GreedFall and it's a repeated plot point. That said, I feel like it's been done so beautifully in this fandom before that I wouldn't have much to add.

Callouts @ me: So. Many. Commas. So much over-explaining everything. If they get out of the car, your readers do not need a five-page manual of "and then he undid his seatbelt and leaned over to grasp the door handle, and then pulled it, and then stepped a foot out before he almost thought better of it - but no, he was going to get out of this car. The other foot joined the first, and he nearly banged his head on the doorframe."

Best writing traits: People say I have a head for finding small-but-important moments. I'm also told I write likeable protags. People have more than once said my writing makes them feel safe or makes them smile, and I really couldn't ask for more than that. I'll take those.

Spicy tangential opinion: I don't think I have any, really? Oh god, that makes me sound so very boring. Oh! Um. There should be more tree body horror in fandom. And body horror in general. *thumbsup*

If you know a Naut, it is unlikely you will know their actual name. The only exception to this is if they ever tell you or you're a family member or someone who knew them beforehand. Even then, the former is a bit difficult because of the whole anonymous system the Nauts has.

I believe the biggest reason - and probably the only reason too - on why the Nauts has the system to give a secondary name is to remain anonymous. To prevent families from rethinking their decisions in trading their children to settle a debt and have a passage across the sea. While a family can figure out which child is theirs (much like how we have seen with Jonas), which isn't hard to do since the child doesn't get their appearance change, it could be a bit hard to do if many if not all Nauts know their member as one name and not the other. Any higher ups will not say anything because it's suppose to be a secret. That and you - as a family member - already made the decision to do this. I am not talking about those who didn't get the green light and found out later on. Plus! I think the Nauts give the family time to think. Basically be like "are you SURE you want to go through with this" kind of moment before finalizing everything.

The Nauts are aware that their system is fucked up. Anyone else can too. At the same time, there's nothing you can do since, in the universe of Greedfall, the Nauts - as far as we are aware - are the only seafaring group we know. The only ones that can navigate the ocean safely. So, you basically have to rely on them for everything in terms of sailing to other places. Now, in universes where there are other types of sailors or seafaring groups, the Nauts are known to be the best of the best. The number one group everyone recommends and use a lot because it is both quick to get where you need to be, get to places safely, and have your cargo be transported safely and quickly. There are other groups you can turn to for these kind of stuff but they may not be as reliable as the Nauts or so my HCs goes.

Anyways, the Nauts wants to keep the families from regretting a decision they had time to think about. Some will say yes in a heartbeat because they need a way to get to one country to the next and quickly. And nobody can't really do anything because it's not only written down but also there are witnesses. At least, I think there will be witnesses so nobody can't try to find a loophole.

What i wish to see in tesvi: long post

Bretons aren't just french-inspired people who like to cook! They're half elves and should have slightly pointy ears! You should be able to modify their magic ancestry and maybe give a little variation to their pointy ears. Also: it could work as a subrace but REACHMEN! Give us different tattoos and facemarkings! Make everyone react differently if your character is a Reachperson or looks like your typical medieval breton! Make nord npcs react to a breton differently if they have rechamen face tattoos! Allow us to learn different spells depending on the cultural background.

Argonians should be able to have those fin-like things give us the full dinosaur experience of argonians! I don't know much about their lore but they come in all shapes. Also there should be different options/quests/reactions/dialogue in-game regarding the Hist, sithis, etc.

Altmer. They should look like in Skyrim, not just like a typical Caucasian Imperialist, leave that look for imperials. They are Golden! Maybe let them shine! Let us adorn our altmers with beautiful makeup and jewelry, let other altmer npcs react calmly to our altmer but make almost all human races act a bit nervous around the altmer.

Dunmer. Ok so i dont really know much about dunmer but they should have more depth to their magic talents! Give us dunmer-based and exclusive spells! Make argonians judgemental towards us and give us mORE FIRE. Also about how they look: theire not just grey, in oblivion they also look blue-ish and purple! Give us more colors! Also also: why do they have to look all wrinkly? ESO dunmers look better i guess.

Nords. Make them real barbaric, i think theyre really well done, specially in Skyrim. It would be nice if we had giantborns / titanborns or something like that. BUT GIVE US A REAL NORDIC PANTHEON!!!! Make them mention shor, talos, alduin not just in battle!!! And even if they're not talented in magic, give us storm/weather/snowy spells or just nature based spells specially for hunting, make them less affected by animal attacks like bears idk. Also let other npcs react to them depending if they're human or elf you know

Redguards. I DEMAND A LOT FOR REDGUARD CULTURE. we need a really different pantheon, we already know there's differences so please if tesvi is based in part in hammerfell dont do like skyrim and just throw the imperial pantheon. Also maybe they have desert based spells to help them survive in long journeys, maybe related to ancient left-handed elves' sand magic??? We need a lot of lore and i hope they deliver. We also need a lot of magic/weapons/culture/quests related to them being the best sailors. Give us war with the maormer! Give us war with the elves! Give us war with the sload and lots of piracy and tales!

I'm pretending left-handed elves are extinct or supposed to be extinct like falmers or snow elfs. I doubt they'll appear as playable races but i want to know what happened to the rest of the snow elfs! Maybe we can get close to a community of survivors of both races? Have access to their technology, weapons, armor, spells like sand-"bending" of the sinister elves, or snow/sun magic from the snow elves

I also doubt we'll be able to play as dwemer BUT since there's a theory about them disappearing because they got yeeted to the future maybe we can see them in tes VI. A lot of them. All of them. Maybe the main quest goes around them re-claiming their abandoned cities. Give us lore about their telepathy, tuning, give us followers and machines please. Even if they dont appear, give us dwemer technology

Khajiit. Ok so if tesvi is partly located in hammerfell, khajiits surely make a huge population since its also a desert. So dont give us just khajiiti caravans. Give us full khajiit marketplaces, guilds, factions, martial arts, etc. It'd be nice to allow us more customization, maybe even allow us to select from two or three humanoid khajiit forms, give us manes, and a lot of adornments. Make them excellent merchants and the most agile race please.

BOSMER! One of my favorite races. GIVE US THE HORNS, give us the chance to make our skin green, have tree-markings, AND IF I WANT TO, GIVE ME THE CHANCE TO FOLLOW THE GREEN PACT! Give us pointy teeth and exclusive marksman talents. I doubt we well be given the wild hunt but maybe we can witness it, or maybe they can extend the "command animal" power into a more powerfull version, let me ride a bear, let me pet any wolf, let me carry snakes idk

Imperials. Ok i know they're the almost the most boring race but it would be nice if they could be based not just off the Roman Empire, but all their colonies as well. Make them excellent at adapting to new cultures. Maybe as an imperial character we suffer the less prejudice except for altmers or something, make them versatile and not just roman, make them not exclusively caucasian, give us Mediterranean vibes, phoenicians, northern african-inspired clothing and weapons depending if theyre imperials from cyrodiil, or born in hammerfell. It would be nice if nocs had some sort of ayleid possessions.

Orcs. I WANT TO SEE THE DRAGONTAIL MOUNTAINS. i want the drama of every clan. But i need to see more than just their brute type. I need to know more about their magic, rites, etc. I want to see their soft side. I want to see that theres more to their fixation with battle, war and lineage, let us see honor, sacrifice and love in the most alien way but show us that theyre not just green tanks. Also their architecture: *chef (chief) kiss*

MAORMER. So its not exactly a playable race, if the game is going to be set in the illiac bay, hammerfell etc. I NEED TO SEE THE FISHY PIRATES AND THEIR HUGE SNAKES. IM A THIRSTY BOY FOR THE SEA ELVES. Give us the chance to play as them, maybe they only have small properties in big ports (i see it as the Nauts in Greedfall) , give us white and slightly iridescent scaly skin. Storm and snake magic all the way! Weather magic! Fog magic! Tridents, harpoons instead of bows, pirates pirates pirates. ALSO MAKE EVERY ALTMER HATE THEM.

Give us a quest involving a forbidden romance between a noble high elf in a breton embassy, soon to be wed unwillingly to a breton noble for family interest, BUT its our job to help them escape with a sea elf pirate or sailor because they're in love!!!!!!!! Make it gay if possible. Give us the gay pirates Todd! Please im begging you!

Okay, I’m going to babble about Greedfall under a cut. I just have to.  tl;dr, you should have been able to romance Petrus and Constantin, no I am not taking critique.  Under the cut: 1500 words of basic Greedfall explanation, and then me lamenting ships that didn’t happen; includes spoilers (noted). 

So. Greedfall. Basically, I had never heard of this game until it was free on Playstation Plus a few months ago, and I was like “yeah okay sure, I’m not doing anything else”, so I played it. I had no idea what to expect. I don’t recall watching the trailer. From the icon, I expected maybe pirates? As it turned out, no pirates ...exactly? But kinda. They’re mostly just colonists with pistols and big hats. Lots of big hats. There are a faction of characters that live on ships, but they’re not pirates. I don’t think they’d appreciate being referred to as such.  Anyway, it’s a rather Dragon Age-like game. I don’t mind saying so, since everyone else has. It has its similarities and differences, but it definitely feels familiar in that way. It’s definitely not a copy, just... inspired, I guess.  You play as Lord or Lady de Sardet, (that’s a silent t, btw), who’s tasked with representing her people on the ‘new continent’ of Tir Fradi-- mostly to the other countries that settled there in the past few years, but also to the natives, who’ve lived there for ever and ever and actually respect the land, unlike you dumb colonizers.  The factions are real pains in the ass, but in a way that’s a litttttle bit charming. Theleme is full of propagandizing Catholics who aren’t above a little witch hunt now and again. The Bridge Alliance are all science-obsessed atheists who think progress is more important than basic morals. The natives are VERY in touch with nature, and have cool Russian accents, skull-like face paint, and sometimes branches growing out of their heads. (The natives have the most diverse opinions, so they’re the least annoying. In fact, they’re rather likeable, except that sometimes they hate you, and don’t bother with pretending they don’t for diplomacy’s sake.)  There’s also the Nauts (the pirates), the Coin Guard (mercenaries, but they kind of work for your country?), and the Congregation of Merchants, aka your country, which are basically neutral ground capitalists that everyone sort of doesn’t hate. (Theleme and Bridge Alliance despise each other, roughly a little more than they hate the natives.)  You’ve got one companion from every faction:  Siora from the natives, Kurt from the Coin Guard, Vasco from the Nauts, Petrus from Theleme, and Aphra from Bridge Alliance. They’re all representatives of their people, but also (as you might guess) non-extremists. Because otherwise you’d want to murder them.  Siora isn’t desperate to kick out the foreigners, she just wants her people to be safe and respected. Kurt and Vasco are basically just following you because it’s Kurt’s job and Vasco’s boss told him to. Petrus is a conniving old man, but he doesn’t shove God down your throat too much and seems to respect the natives, sort of. And Aphra has enough morals to agree that killing for science ain’t cool, and maybe the natives aren’t just savages. All in all, they’re all pretty reasonable.  Compared to Dragon Age, none of your companions (or other NPCs) have a ton of personality, but somehow they still manage to have a good bit, and I ended up really liking them.  SO LETS TALK ABOUT SHIPPING You can romance Kurt if you’re playing a woman, Aphra if you’re playing a man, and Vasco and Siora in either case. But, oh my god?, getting the romance to happen is practically impossible. Save first. I romanced both Kurt and Siora (in different saves; can’t do ‘em both in one), using a guide, but by the time I had thought about romancing, I’d already said one wrong thing to Vasco and screwed my chances hahaha. There’s basically 3 specific conversations you have to have with them, and each time you have to pick the right thing to say, out of three choices. If you offend them at all, there’s no going back. Wow. They’re not very intuitive, either.  ANYWAY. The romances aren’t all that interesting, but they add a bit to their stories, so it’s cool. I think my ship preferences with these four characters are Kurt, Siora, Vasco, and Aphra, in that order.  But you KNOW WHAT? I wanna romance Petrus. Yes, the old man. The bishop. And yeah, I know why you can’t.  (It’s spoiler time!)  You can’t romance him basically for the exact reason you should be able to romance him: he was in love with your mom. Your birth mom, who was a native, which you never knew about. He pined for her after she was captured and taken from her land, and when she was in pain and wanted to die, he didn’t help, and now he’s like “woe is me, I’m flooded with guilt”. Which is partly why he’s following you/ de Sardet around.  So you can’t romance him because he sees you as his kid... kinda?... ish?... I guess? Sure. Ok. I mean, that’s cute. I like it. He makes a pretty bad dad, to be honest, because he’s more like that one slightly morally corrupt uncle who lets you drink hard alcohol when you’re a teenager but only under his supervision. But he cares, and that’s the important thing. I don’t dislike dad-Petrus at all.  But you should still be able to romance him because of the good old classic “you’re so much like your mother”. Problematic? MAYBE. =D But a real missed opportunity. Also he’s my favorite companion. He’s a real manipulator. Gets excited about blackmailing politicians. Sounds like he’s smoked a pack a day. I just like the guy a lot. (And you know how much fanart he has? Like none. Le sigh.)  (Also very few ship fics with him; I’m not surprised, but of course I must remedy this. I’m 4k in already and it’s a lot of de Sardet thinking, and her friends poking at her.)  BUT ALSO, to move on from Petrus.  There’s a character I neglected to mention at all, because he’s not a playable companion (except for a tiny while in the beginning, iirc). He’s perhaps my real favorite character... or maybe tied with Petrus.  Yes, it’s Constantin, de Sardet’s “dear cousin”. Oh my lord, Constantin. What a cutie??? He’s basically the prince. He’s been appointed as the governor of their city on the new island, and he’s precious. Genuinely a puppy.  And I think you should be able to romance him. (It’s less crazy than you might think!)  MORE SPOILERS TIME  So, as it turns out (well, I already sort of spoiled it up there), because de Sardet is actually a native, s/he and Constantin are not actually cousins. They love each other immensely. The game makes no mistake about this. They’re absolutely besties. I think Constantin calls you his lucky star. He’s always so flattering, and seeing de Sardet just makes his day. And since it turns out you’re not really cousins, you should be able to romance him.  And do you know why?  I mean, because they love each other, clearly. But also, that ending. Good lord that ending. I mean, if you didn’t think that they loved each other that much, the ending basically says, “HEY ACTUALLY they totally love each other more than anything”, which makes it terribly depressing either way, because you can either... well, stay with him forever, to the detriment of literally everyone else, or, you know, not stay with him, in order to kind of save everyone. It’s already very heart-wrenching, but letting them literally be in love? GAWD. Talk about pulling heartstrings. It would have made the ending like... an actual choice.  (BIG SPOILER BELOW although you probably already guessed.)  Yeah so you have to kill Constantin to save the island. OR, you two can become the new gods, and everyone fears you and it’s terrible. Lordy. Just terrible either way, because there’s no way you played the game and didn’t end up loving Constantin somewhere along the way, even when the red flags started going up that he’d gone power mad. (Because even when he’s power mad, he still obviously loves de Sardet SO MUCH,  OH my god...)  So. As I said. You should be able to romance Petrus because, well, I want to. Need me that problematic ship, c’mon! And you should be able to romance Constantin because the whole plot is literally written that way??? It’s like the romance that is set in stone, you know? And it literally drives the plot.  The whole “Constantin gets native powers and decides he wants to be a god” thing was sort of predictable (as soon as it started happening, because shit, I didn’t have a clue what was going to happen before!), but overall I thought the game and story were pretty good. I recommend playing it if you’re got 40 hours free and it’s really on sale or something. I give it an 8.2 out of 10. (Higher if it didn’t start to feel kind of grindy at points. Lower if I’d had to pay for it. Much higher if they let you romance your pseudo-dad or pseudo-cousin, hahaha.)
