I think the wildest thing about the TikTok Ban is that TikTok decided to adhere to it beyond the letter of the law.

They bent their knee willingly and gave up space and a platform they did not have to. They consciously decided to fuck over their user base when there was no valid reason for them to do so.

I've seen people talking about how you absolutely do not want to obey ahead of authority, and to see TikTok do it is... weird. It's unsettling. It feels like a dangerous stunt.

Specifically, it feels performative. It's got the marks of a Great Drama™, and given Trump's first 4 years and his absolutely bonkers love for theatrics over anything else, this just feels hollow. Like TikTok is trying to turn it's - generally younger - user base into "fans" of the republicans.

They can't really scoop up youths any other way, honestly. But using a big impactful story and putting Trump as the "hero" who saves their beloved platform.

It's not even the 20th and I just don't like how this new administration is starting. I do not like a private company complying beyond the letter of the law in advance of that law either. Because the only thing the law laid down was that they couldn't update the app on Apple and Google.

There wouldn't have been any fines or legal ramifications.

Woof, so, been at work on this in between comm work and college for a solid while now- the decision to draw that many hands was certainly a choice on my part- but I read, reread, and rereread @modmad's brilliant fan comic The Ascension of Thespius Green and I absolutely couldn't get it out of my head, and I knew I couldn't rest until I did art about it, hence- this!

Seriously, if you're into Great God Grove, have a passing interest in the game, or just want to cry over the song Time in a Bottle, I cannot recommend this comic (and quite frankly all of the comics Mod has made) enough.

Radioapple Week Day 2: Enemies / Pining

Yet again, I'm quite late but I've had a busy day XD

These drawings were sorta inspired by fanfictions like Of Saints and Sinners, where Lucifer forms an accidental collection of Alastor's things, and Finders Keepers, in which Alastor is a bit of a kleptomaniac (a lot, actually) and collects trinkets from different hotel members, including Lucifer who ends up finding him out. I just love the idea of mementos of your closest people, and in this case specifically the irony of keeping a memento of someone you claim you hate pfff

I think for all of this week's prompts I'll attempt to do both of them, tying them together in some way, one that at least makes sense in my head XD

Day 1

irving wanting to touch and hold and kiss burt because he's never been loved and he wants to have that kind of love where he gets to do those things and have those things done to him but burt pushing him away and you can see irving's heart shatter in real time because he thinks that means burt doesn't love him but then he gets on that train and it dawns on him that burt has already bestowed upon him the greatest act of love he is capable of which is making him leave. he is alone because he is loved he is safe because he is loved he is sad because he is loved. burt cannot give him the tokens of love he so desperately wants but he loves him all the same. and the first time we ever see irving bathed in warm romantic pink lighting, the only real example of this colour lighting ever present in the show, he is smiling to himself at this realisation

imagine isagi, gaze intense as he looks down at you, a playful grin tugging at his lips. you’re lying back, the air between you thick with anticipation, as he hovers above you, muscles already flexing in preparation for his set of push-ups. there’s something in the way he looks at you, a quiet challenge, an unspoken invitation. 

"ready?" his voice is low, just enough to send a shiver down your spine. 

without waiting for an answer, he starts, each push-up fluid and controlled, his body moving with strength, his arms barely showing any strain. as he goes down, his chest lowers closer to yours, and you can feel the warmth of his body, the steady rhythm of his breath. 

"one," he murmurs, lips close enough that you can taste the hint of his breath. you lean up, just a little, and press your lips to his in a soft, teasing kiss. his body doesn’t even falter as he continues, muscles flexing, but his eyes meet yours with a new intensity, like he's daring you to keep up. 

with every push-up, every descent, his body lowers, his chest brushing against yours, and you press another kiss to his lips, slow and lingering. his smirk deepens, and the air feels hotter, charged with something more than just playful teasing. 

"again?" he asks, voice gravelly now, his lips curving into a satisfied smile. 

you don’t say anything, just pull him down a little more, urging him into another kiss. his push-ups become almost a game, each descent drawing you closer, his muscles straining with controlled effort, but it’s the way his eyes darken with each kiss that makes it harder for you to focus on anything else. 

he moves with such precision, but each kiss, each lingering touch, seems to pull him just a little deeper, and you know there’s no turning back now.
