My Sayonika take is that for how adorable it can be, I always have the prerequisite of Monika having to go through her redemption arc ala For The Longest Time before we get to the cute wholesome stuff. Because during the main game it would be hard to imagine Monika being all that sweet with Sayori, given how disillusioned she is towards the other Dokis. Before could work, to be fair, but that would lead to tragedy once Monika realizes her GF is just a program.

...which is actually an extremely painful and also fascinating idea that I would love to see explored because I love pain 🙃
