I've got 9 left, and they're moving pretty fast. This is my own recipe for non toxic #flyingointment, the classic #witchessalve accredited with aiding in #witchflight or #astraltravel. Mine does not possess the poison plants that induce strong hallucinations (and possible death) of the classic medieval recipes. It is far more subtle (and safe) than that. But it does offer a forceful nudge in the direction of #psychicopening and #visionquesting. My coven uses this recipe to fly together at the sabbats, with great results. My other issue is that Harry never seems to try and prepare for Voldemort. Like don’t you think you should be trying to research some obscure spells or something? Expelliarmus and Stupefy ain’t finna cut it. I also don’t really get the dark purebloods; all that for 3 curses? They never really go into depth about dark magic, and what exactly it’s offering that makes it so much better. JK Rowling really didn’t use anything from actual witchcraft, folklore, or magic. She could’ve made the light side like the Benandanti and the dark side malandanti. Of the dark purebloods had been on some Salem shit - some real traditional witchcraft shit; Familiar spirits, Alrauns, Witchflight, witchblood, witchfire, etc - that would’ve been interesting. She could’ve had the dark side doing ceremonial magic, summoning demons and the like. She could’ve used the Fae, pharmakeia, The Pythia, Thessalian witches, shapeshifting, Glamoury - so much wasted potential. I hated how she dumbed shit down too. Like there’s only one love potion? Really? No love spells, no sex magic? I would’ve loved if Voldemort had been on some true Lucifer shit and tried to seduce Harry. Stepping into his dreams and shapeshifting into an incubus. THAT would’ve been fire. I hated how they did curses and hexes too. I get that she needed an easy combative element- something for action scenes, but one of the best things about curses is that you usually don’t know who cast them, how they did it, or how long they last. You have to use your power and your skill to undo it. Everything was so mall magic. Everyone’s pulling from the same shit, learning the same spells, reading the same books. Everyone should’ve had a personal Grimoire and everyone should’ve been creating their own spells like Snape was doing. Families should’ve had specializations. Divination was so stupid. Every magical practitioner picks up some form of divination even if you don’t like it. And while there are people born with more talent in this area, anyone can cultivate it or at least have a passing skill in it. They were kids, but as they got older-and the older generations-should’ve been more sensual and sexual. The dark side definitely should’ve been seducing people to their cause. I would love if the dark side had actual shit they were fighting for. The right to witch flight, to deal with demons and fae, to dance at The Brocken, to Seduce, etc. The whole “I want to kill all muggles” shit was dumb because they could’ve just been playing around with the muggles or using them in potions - something. I would’ve loved if the wizards had a more predatory outlook on the muggles; seeing them as lesser beings to toy with. I need Harry Potter, but more like Salem, Sabrina, and Witches of East End.
