nothing came up! i actually don’t really use the word “blinks” unless i specifically want to indicate some kind of long and/or awkward pause. otherwise i’ll only write out “x closes their eyes” or something

20. Have you noticed any patterns in your fics? Words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc?

pretty much everything i write turns into a character study lmao, even if i didn’t intend for it to be one. and i frequently use the phrase “burning red up to their ears” to indicate that a character is blushing/embarrassed. ALSO if there are a thousand em dash fans im one of them if there are a hundred em dash fans i’m one of them if there are zero em dash fans then i’m dead

24. Worst writing advice anyone ever gave you?

oh this is an easy one, when grade school teachers told us to never use “common” words in our writing. while i do try to keep things interesting, really sometimes the best word you can use is just “said” or “eyes”. and i’m gonna combine this with question 23 (best writing advice) in that there’s absolutely nothing wrong with using words that might be considered “boring”, and people genuinely will not notice unless you don’t use anything else.

basically, variety is much more important than using nothing but “interesting” words, especially if you can’t be 100% sure they even fit the context of the sentence. otherwise you get shit like this

68. What, if anything, do you do for inspiration?

i usually just let ideas come to me tbh! looking at/reading/listening to other people’s art is always a great way to get inspired, but i’ve personally found that it has to be natural. if i try to go out of my way to force it then i’ll just get frustrated if nothing clicks. so definitely don’t want to rush things

🍑 If you could make a connection between your favorite character and another work you care about (whether a crossover/fusion or a wonderfully “pretentious” literary reference) what would it be? How would it work?

Leans back. Hmmmm. I’m not typically one for crossovers unless it’s something I really like (I was a Randy Cunningham is Hiro Hamada’s cousin truther) but I do like making a reference here or there. Typically through like, quoting something. I’m admittedly drawing a blank, but if I were to quote something it’d probably be romantic or humorous depending on the situation. I’m currently workshopping an original novel idea and it heavily involves 80s pop culture; the idea of the mml saying like “who’re you gonna call?” Would be kinda funny.

🍍 What kind of AUs do you like? Are there any AUs you hate or just generally have beef with?

I am an au connoisseur yes sir. Love a lot of them! Swaps, canon divergence etc. I don’t have beef per say but I typically don’t read coffee shop type stuff unless the premise is really interesting cause otherwise it’s the same deal. The REAL beef lies in stuff like age regression, like “a has been hit with x now theyre a baby and b (typically their love interest… for some reason) has to take care of them” idk why but it squicks me out. If you want to explore trauma…. Explore it through their adult lense? Idk idk. Also stuff with like, yknow, incest or whatever is weird.

Mid burn (I like a good slowburn but sometimes a girl can’t wait that long), fluff, oc x canon, canon divergence, etc.

Facing right for suuuuure I try to mix it up but legit most of my sketches at least start right facing

MY VERY OWN BABY BOY THE PRINCE!!! I have a hard time drawing bangs and HIS HAIR IS ALL BANGS auuugh. (I’m also not super comfortable drawing boys?? So double whammy)

11. Do you listen to anything while drawing?

Yah gotta get that music debuff or I can’t access the full “hands” menu. Usually I put on an album and loop it, or if I’m thinking about a specific song, I’ll just loop that. Recently listened to creature by half.alive for like 3 hours straight lol

30. What piece of yours do you think is underrated?

Y’know? I did a drawing of Roseate Wes with colors that hit, and I think it got a little buried with the other less serious doodles on the page I posted. I might repost that piece solo about it.

In the muddy ground, she could just make out deep set boot prints disappearing into the marsh – likely Nebarra’s. With careful steps, she traced their path, hand remaining on the hilt of her sword, knowing the swamp was far from empty despite the silence. There. The glint of moonstone was just visible among the shadows, leaning heavily on a felled tree, back to her.

“Nebs?” whispered Marasa, inching closer. Something was off with his posture, stiff and hunched over. His sword arm hung limply at his side. Was he injured? “Hey, you alright?”

She approached him cautiously, realizing he still hadn’t acknowledged her. Then she saw the blood, as well as the arrow that managed to land in the small gap between his pauldron and breastplate. Cursing under her breath, she stepped into his line of sight, catching him jump ever so slightly as if he hadn’t noticed her until now.

“Sit.” She tugged her gauntlets off. He likely would have preferred a potion, but given they were all back at camp, he’d have to make due with her somewhat passable healing skills.

“I’m fine.”

“Bullshit.” Damned obstinate mer.

“I said I’m fine.”

“And I say I don’t want to drag your lifeless body back to camp if you decide to bleed out.”

She could feel his glare, and she returned the same, a silent war to determine just who was more stubborn. After a moment of uneasy silence, he finally gave in with an exasperated sigh. Not willingly of course, but the blood loss and pain was making his legs weaker with each passing second. He eased himself down, Marasa knowing better than to push her luck by offering more help. She dropped to her knees beside him, easing his pauldron off without jostling the arrow and inspected the area.

“Not too deep, that’s good.”

“You do know what you’re doing, right?”

“I’m no healer,” She ignored his scoff. “But I learned enough to keep someone alive on the field ‘til one came.”

He hissed when she grasped the arrow’s shaft firmly. “This isn’t going to feel great.”

That was an understatement. He groaned, helm thudding against the tree he was leaning on, but it was out in one smooth motion. Deft fingers slipped into the hole torn in his arming doublet, gently covering the wound. He could feel the tension loosen from his arm and shoulder as a steady pulse of healing magic thrummed across his skin, and resisted the urge to audibly sigh in relief.

It was still tender by the time she was done, her magicka reserves being as limited as they were, but nothing that wouldn’t wear off soon enough. Her hand slipped from his shoulder, offering his pauldron back. He began reattaching it to the rest of his armor, carefully steadying his injured arm before noticing her still watching him, concern written on her face.

“What?”
