Matching, mixed metal, rose quartz ring and pendant

So sometime last week there was a little accident where something stupid happened, resulting in something else stupid happening, and after a short string of stupid, my favorite teapot wire sculpture shattered.

It didn't picture very well, but it had wire bent to mimic the clouds found in Asian calligraphy, tiny teacups I hand-painted to match the teapot, and was meant to look like stylized steam. I didn't think I'd find that teapot again, but after a few hours on ebay, I found a similar one that's probably from the same series. It doesn't have the stems or exact same design, but it does have the flowers, shape, and color. Hopefully the spout will be the same size. If not, I might start the project from scratch again, though that's a lot of wire to throw out.

On a not unrelated vein, I found many other small teapots that I put in my watchlist, and now I have six or so offers from sellers that I can't take up until payday, and they're all set to expire before my payday. 😂 Sorry sellers!

Who else is SO EXCITED for the Wicked movie? I have literally been waiting on this movie for 20 years!!

Tried out some more intricate wire wrapping to make a crown for my Glinda Halloween costume. I have to say, I really enjoyed it, I think I will be making some more pieces like this to sell fairly soon. Stay tuned!

I’m really happy with how they turned out. I finally used some higher end stones that I’ve been too nervous to work with because I thought I wouldn’t do them justice. I’m so glad I finally used them!

I recently put together a 16 page fake video game strategy guide! You can get it for free on itch. It's a prototype for a much larger project.

All figurines and frames are were made by hand by me. Each one took at least a couple hours to put together. Check it out, and let me know what you think!

A handful of the latest Amethyst & Rose Quartz collection

I don't remember if I made a post about it already, but my mother has decided to redecorate her kitchen to be strawberry-themed, so I decided to make her a strawberry vine for Christmas this year. Novel for me. I'd never made a vine before, just trees and one rosebush.

I looked up references to strawberry vines, which weren't entirely helpful, but I did see that strawberry blossoms are commonly on the vine at the same time as the fruit, so I looked around a bit and found some buttons that matched the shape, though they had gold backs that needed to be painted. I painted them white first, then green to look a bit like stems.

I thought I was going to have to go knicknack shopping to find a base, but it turns out I had the perfect thing in my oodles and oodles of stuff already! It just needed a little cleaning.

Then it was time to put it all together. 😃

I made the stem first, then twisted some branching vines and ended them with two leaves and a strawberry charm, putting the buttons in wherever I thought they might look good. I neglected to take pictures of this part. Woopsiedoodle.

I bent the bottom wires, glued them into the base with rocks and some Elmers in layers, then sealed the top with a layer of air-dry clay I'd massaged some green paint in. Then I used a toothpick to texture it, added a rock and some mushroom beads, fluffed the branches a little and called it done!

Mom loved it, and I am very happy. 😁
