4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

Most to least: Pink Christmas Continued, The Oldest Surviving Wooden Building, Matt 6:20, I really wanna fly with you [Infinite Hiatus], Am I really that obvious?

I'm happy with Pink Christmas Continued, but other fics deserve to be on this list more than the others.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Yes, I probably haven't answered all of them since I'm very awkward and don't always know what to say, but I try to reply each time as soon as possible. I started on Wattpad, where repeat commenters became friends, so I really value fanfiction as a way to creat community and meet more people.

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Either wickedness at midnight or Instant Karma

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Pink Christmas Continued, maybe. Keep in mind for both these questions I don't remember how half my fics ended.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Not yet.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Nothing published yet, I do have some in the drafts. Mainly ace4ace, since I'm asexual, it's easier for me to write if everyone involved is also. Because of this, I've been writing some for canon asexual Rabbit lately, hopefully I can get it out there soon.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

Not often, and usually nothing crazy, but I had an Hannibal × Neo Yokio kinda out there.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

I hope not.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

No, but that'd be so cool, I hope one day.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

No, but that might be fun, maybe with @atlasisntdead since I already send them my first drafts all the time.

14. What's your all-time favorite ship?

I always come back to kazangelo.

15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Horror Movie Date Horror and Peppermint Lattes. Both about Matoko uniting Arcangelo and Lexy's friend groups, both I became exhausted from despite how short and fun the premises are.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I've been told that my drabbles and such are able to pack a punch in such a short word count. I think I'm able to capture characters voices pretty well, and at least won't publish anything that I'd tag as out of character.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Writing anything above a thousand words. I haven't gotten the hang of fight scenes. I can't force myself to write, I'm very slow at it. I'm not always sure my character interactions are realistic, because I don't interact with many. I'm not confident in my writing.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I've done a little bit of that, and I'd like to do more once I'm fluent in something. Would consider learning Tolkien conlangs for a fic in Middle Earth.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

I can't quite remember, but I think it might have been for Percy Jackson.

20. Favorite fic you've ever written?

Tends to be whatever i most recently published, since i think i do improve everytime, so check out wickedness at midnight

Not yet but I live in fear every day especially since I'm dipping my toe in the Republic Commandos pond and I know the girlies are passionate

I do and it's ridiculously graphic HAHAHA no but there's a reason I haven't posted any Rexsoka smut. Makin y'all wait for it until they COMMIT, gotta keep that tension in there somewhere uwu. But wlw, mlw, mlm, aliens and cyborgs gonna work their way in there eventually (?) I have Not Out Loud, which is an mlm fic with Boba tying up Cal and facefucking him (Kesett nation rise)

Go Ask Ahsoka is the Matrix crossover that I wrote for AU August which I will eventually update lmfao

Well Do Not Go Gentle is a huge fucking project that I HOPE I finish one day

I think I'm pretty good at action. I enjoy it which helps lmao

I get really ahead of myself laying out hints and red herrings which I then forget about (Princess For A Year especially is the worst about this, I am so sorry for all of those hints about Sylen being a pretend Mandalorian I fucked up so bad with that one but I'm going to rewrite it eventually to bring back a bunch of my dropped subplots)

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I enjoy it and do so regularly. Mando'a nuhur'shya ni ru'kar'tayli. And it makes my brain work in unexpected ways, it's like a puzzle trying to figure out the wacky ass baby's-first-conlang grammar that is Karen's creation (what the fuck kind of language doesn't have a passive voice)

OKAY OKAY TECHNICALLY, TECHNICALLY????? It was the Lion King. I was in first grade and we had to write a little storybook and illustrate the pages they gave us with crayons and my story was How Simba Lost His Mane lmfaoooo

Everything is lovely until a major coffee chain builds a franchise in Tadfield, and sends in Anthony Crowley to run it. Much to Gabriel's disapproval, Crowley and Aziraphale form a tentative but deep friendship that challenges Aziraphale in new ways. But Crowley is running from some demons of his own.

WIP tag game

Eli (@ishotforthestars), I'm sorry this has taken me so long! These are excerpts from my WIP that is a mash up of rwrb and Young Royals and a flower shop/coffee shop au that no one asked for!

Here are the words the lovely Elin has given me: strong, smooth, kind and whisper.

Strong: 😞 this word has yet to make an appearance.

Smooth:

His fingers find the waxy smooth leaf of a potted plant, rubbing it between his fingertips hoping it will ground him.

Kind:

A couple of months later, autumn starts chilling the air, pumpkin spice is overflowing everywhere Simon goes. He kind of hates the smell now after what feels like the two hundredth pumpkin spice latte he's made in the last week. It isn't until that medium peppermint latte with oat milk pops up on the mobile order tablet that Simon even remembers that Wilhelm was even a thing.

Whisper:

"H," Bea whispers, the bed dips as she sits on the edge and brushes Henry's hair off his forehead. He doesn't acknowledge her; he's too tired, too exhausted, too sad. "Do you want cuddles?"

That would be the monster 23K holiday fic "All I Don’t Want for Christmas is You!" I didn't know it 'd be so long when I started it - it just kept going and going! 😩I am honestly in awe of writers whose word counts surpass that number on a regular basis!!

That would be my baby, Paradise! 5 chapters in, over 30K written so far. Once upon a time I thought it would only be five chapters in total. At the moment, I have no idea how many more are coming!

• what they smell like: Crushed pine needles, a bit of damp earth, and citrus!

• what their favorite smells in the world are: They really love seasonal scents, like peppermint and pumpkin spice!! They try to stock up on seasonal candles and lotions when their season hits, so they can have enough to last them the year.

• what pajamas they wear/what they wear to sleep in: So Javi's fashion sense can be summed up in one word: tacky. Their pajamas are JUST as tacky, if not moreso, than their waking clothes. They tend to wear a combination of a pretty nightgown (generally the ones that cut off mid-thigh) and some silly novelty pajama pants. Like so:

• my favorite ship (if applicable) and a cute hc about them: Is it cheating to say Javi/Avery/Antonia? Since they canonically all end up together?? EITHER WAY, the three of them together makes my heart melt in a thousand ways!! A cute hc about them (is it a headcanon if I can just...make it canon?) is that they all like to cook together!! Well...I say "they all like to cook together," when in reality, Avery and Antonia are doing most of the cooking, and Javi is sitting on the kitchen counter, swinging their legs, and stealing any ingredients within arm's reach to snack on. And when Antonia or Avery is within arm's reach, they grab them and pull them in and give them a little kiss on the cheek or forehead and tell them they're doing a good job. This is, of course, an essential part of the cooking team!!

• my favorite friendship (if applicable) and a cute hc about them: Honestly, their friendship with Antonia!! They banter and tease each other a lot, but it all comes from a place of love. Sometimes, when Javi's feeling particularly vulnerable and unlovable, Toni will pester them until they come over to her place, and the two of them will sit on the floor and either watch a comfort movie or play Mario Kart, depending on whether Toni thinks they need gentleness or to be riled up.

ALSO, I have to add, my favorite crossover friendship is Javi and your very own Benji!! Two Abandonment Issues Babies™ lying on the floor...I think they'd get along quite well. I just think they're neat!

• a song that reminds me of them: Overall, it's gotta be 3am by Halsey! But for [redacted] reasons, Way out There by Lord Huron is also a big one.

• what animal i think they would be if they were an animal: A big, fluffy dog!! One of the really big ones that think they're a lap dog despite their size. I think they'd make a cute Bernese mountain dog, now that I think about it!

• what position they sleep in: If they're sleeping with someone, they'll generally curl up against their side and lay their head on their chest. If they're sleeping with multiple people, they're in the middle! They don't like to sleep alone, but when they have to, they sleep on their tummy or their side, and their bed is absolutely PILED with stuffed animals so they feel less alone.

• their favorite drink: Again, they love seasonal things! Peppermint mochas and pumpkin spice lattes! In general, though, they LOVE sugary drinks with lots of whipped cream!

• a gift i would give them if I could: A big dog to cuddle in bed with, so they would never really have to sleep alone.

5) how many accounts do you have? I assume it's NOT talking about bank accounts, lol. I have this Tumblr, another Tumblr that's defunct. Three Twitter accounts (my main one, one for my older cat, a third when I thought I should keep fandom and personal stuff separate but that doesn't really happen). Oh and an Instagram. And a TikTok. And Facebook but I only go on there for about 30 seconds a week.

14) what’s your coffee order? Depends on the time of year and my mood. Most of the year it's a mocha, sometimes peppermint or raspberry. Summer, it's iced mocha, sometimes raspberry. Or a mocha frap. A couple of my local shops have specialty drinks that I like. And, unfortunately, I love my pumpkin spice lattes.

27) how long before a trip do you pack? I am a last minute packer, lol. About a week out I start thinking/listing things to take, especially if I have to do more than what I usually bring (like, if I need to remember my swimsuit, or something). But the actual packing is typically in that last 24 hours before I go. And if I take an early morning flight, I just stay up all night packing.

33) what do you think about a lot Castle and Beckett, lol. Actually I think a lot about depressing shit. So to pull myself out of it, I think about Caskett, and about my fics. I'll focus on a WIP and plan what's next, or map out something new.

1. If your WIP got made into a movie, which actors/actresses would you cast for your main characters?

I’ve never been real good at fancasting, tbh. Probably because I really don’t watch a lot of movies. BUT, I do have some faceclaims that I’ve found through pinterest and other sites?

2. What is a story you’d like to write, but don’t know how to yet tackle?

There are a couple of different ones, actually.

The first is one I’ve talked about before on Tumblr. It’s called Heart Eater. (It’s a temporary title.) It’s a lot darker than my usual stories, though, so I have no idea where to even start. Not to mention I don’t know what kind of genre or setting to use... 

The second is temporarily titled Guardians/Overmorrow. It’s more of a sci-fi/fantasy story, with both high technology and a little magic. Or a lot of magic. It was one of the first novel ideas that I came up with and stuck with, though I didn’t finish it. I would love to tackle it one day, but for the moment, I don’t have much for it! Nor much faith in my ability to tackle any of the science that would be involved xD

3. How do you deal with writer’s block?

Crying, begging, pleading, making sacrifices to the writing gods... 

I kid, I kid. 

I don’t really handle writer’s block all that well, tbh. But there are a couple of different things that (occasionally) work for me.

The first is just leaving the story alone. Focusing on something else, if it’s a specific story block, or just taking a break from writing all together. I’ll do things like read and play games instead. 

The second is to stop writing the story, but still do things related to it. Create playlists--none of which I really like well enough to share, tbh, but I’m working on it! Make moodboards/aesthetics, do character questionnaires, revisit the plot with new templates... You know. Whatever I can do that’s still relevant to what I’m writing but isn’t actually writing. Or is, in the case of modern AU’s/pre-series drabbles. (Usually I’m too blocked up even for those, though.) 

4. Coffee, hot chocolate, or tea?

All of the above!

I wish I could tell you I had a specific preference, but I really don’t. It switches up on me a lot. I CAN tell you that I’m picky about all of the above, though.

Tea I like to be sweet and a little spicy. I’m a big fan of Chai lattes, but I also have this lovely Warm Fireside tea that I ADORE. Sadly, they’ve discontinued it, though, so I’ll be hunting around again soon. *sigh* I also really enjoy sweet tea! But I like it *really* sweet. 

Coffee I like with creamer. A lot of creamer. Like, two thirds coffee, one third creamer. Lattes are amazing, tbh. I mostly prefer vanilla flavoring, but sometimes I’ll go for caramel...

Hot chocolate is probably what I’m least picky about, tbh. I’ll drink it by itself, but I like it best with a bit of peppermint. (I keep peppermint creamer on hand, but I also usually have mints in my purse I can drop in.)

5. Do you believe in the death of the author?

Yes.

I think that an author’s interpretation and intention are still relevant to a work, but I also believe in a fan’s ability to disregard those things and do it their own way. And I don’t think that the author should interfere with that. Conversely, I don’t believe that fandom has the right to control how an author continues their work.

In short, while fandom and author overlap in the middle, there should also be some separation--much like a venn diagram ;)

6. What is a trope that needs more love?

You know, my first impulse was to say “found family” but like. That one is everywhere lately. (I am NOT complaining. I just don’t think it’s in the spirit of the question to answer that way xD)

So I don’t really know specific “tropes” necessarily, and I’m not falling into the void that is TV tropes to answer, so I’m just going to list some things that I, personally, would like to see more of?

male/female friendships that don’t end in romance, pls. AND, if either has a significant other, that SO doesn’t get jealous every time they’re in the vicinity of each other.

healthy M/F ships!!! no unnecessary miscommunication or jealousy please!! unless that miscomm is used for non relationship-threatening humor.

characters that don’t end in relationships??? it feels like in a lot of mainstream fiction lately all the characters end up with someone. i love a good romance as much as anyone, but as an ace and possibly aro person (questioning, majorly) it’s also a little disappointing???

the power of FRIENDSHIP. this probably goes hand-in-hand with the found family, but like. friendship/platonic love being the most important thing to a person??? yes pls.

I’ll stop there ‘cause I think that’s enough, but those are a few things!! :D

7. What is your biggest inspiration?

This question is actually really hard for me, because I don’t KNOW. 

Part of me wants to just boil it down to life, to living every day and finding something new about the world/about myself. And that IS a good answer, and true as well, but it doesn’t feel quite... right.

I could tell you that I feel inspired every time I pick up a new book, or poem, or fanfic to read. I could tell you that I feel inspired every time I see a commercial for a movie or a TV show. I could tell you that history articles/magazines inspire me. I could tell you that hearing about different identities and cultures inspires me. I could tell you that I find inspiration everywhere, in everything, and that none of it would qualify as my “biggest” inspiration, because I get little bits from everywhere.

But that still doesn’t feel right either.

I feel like maybe I’m missing the point of the question. 

8. Let’s go on a little adventure: One day, you end up in the same world as your characters–or if they’re in ours, you end up with your characters in some way, shape or form. What do you do?

I’m going to assume that either they don’t know who I am or think of me as some scribe meant to tell their story, instead of the person who created it. (Which is how I think of myself sometimes, tbh.) Because otherwise I feel like they would probably be maybe a little mad at me.

So, first things first, I probably give Alinora and Aishlynn a hug. Well. Okay. I don’t hug them because neither of them would be super comfortable with that. (Alinora doesn’t mind, and even appreciates, hugs from people she knows, but not so much people she doesn’t. Aishlynn just isn’t big on hugs in general.)

And then I probably fangirl a little. 

Just a little.

I mean. These are my BABIES, and yes they’re flawed and have their weak spots but. They’re also so STRONG and HEROIC and GOOD and I just LOVE THEM. 

9. If you had a magical power, what would that power be?

Probably something like empathy. tbh, but I would WANT like... the ability to not have to sleep. Though I guess that would probably get boring after a while. 

10. What is a genre that you feel is underrated? What about overrated?

So, I feel like every genre has the potential to be done really well, and I think I could probably enjoy something from pretty much any of them. HOWEVER. Lately I’ve been a little... uninterested in a lot of mainstream YA fiction. Not all of it, necessarily, but a lot of it. It’s not that I think YA as a whole is overrated, because I don’t. But at the same time, I do?? I dunno. I wanna read more about older people??? Not full-on “adult” fiction, but y’know. New Adult. And while I don’t think NA is “underrated” specifically, I do wish they had an actual section for it in bookstores. 

11. Have you accomplished anything that you’re proud of?

Yes. I finished my very first novel around 17. (I might have actually been 16 and a half.) I still have yet to complete the second draft/full rewrite, but I’m still really proud of actually FINISHING it.

I’m also really proud of how far I’ve made it into THE MARTYR QUEEN. I’ve started and re-started that story so many times, and actually being THIS close to the end, with a draft I don’t hate... It’s amazing. I mean, it definitely needs changes, but I’m really proud of how it’s shaping up. 

Now if I could just finish a short story.... X’D

1. What are you top five fandoms right now?

Okay so #1 is of course Kingsman XD and I always find myself getting sucked back into Star Trek, Star Wars, The Hobbit/LotR and MCU even if I am more of a consumer in those fandoms.

2. What are your top five go to books right now?

The Lord of the Rings trilogy by JRR Tolkien, the Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher, the Johannes Cabal series by Jonathan L. Howard , Dune by Frank Herbert  and Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman (yeah I know that technically it’s more than five but :P)

3. What are your top five go to movies right now?

Wonder Woman, The Hobbit, The Mummy, Pacific Rim and Kingsman

4. Do you have pets?

Yep :D A black kitty named Thorin, King under the bed, because he’s a scaredy cat who doesn’t like anyone else but me being in the apartment XD

5.  If you could have dinner with one person from history dead or amongst the living who would you have dinner with?

I would be like shy and embarrassed as fuck, but Colin Firth because it would be well worth getting to stare at his face for a whole dinner.

6. Do you like pumpkin spice?  Is it a problem for you that I absolutely adore pumpkin spice and will willing cut someone for a pumpkin spice latte?

I adore pumpkin spice stuff. Not to the extent on cutting someone for a pumpkin spice latte though and I would probably tell you to chill a bit if I saw you do it, but I would also bring you back a latte every time I go buy myself one.

7. Do you have a favorite holiday?

I like them all, but definitely Christmas. I am one of those who start listening to Christmas music as soon as Halloween is over and will be filled with Christmas cheer for two months and won’t shut up about it. 

8. Do you have a favorite rare fandom pairing, a pairing that’s hard to find fic for or not as popular?

I have many. But since I have watched the Mummy this week here’s one of my all-time favourite that I am blessed from time to time to find new stuff about. Jonathan/Ardeth Bay. Yeah that’s right. Always shipped them, always will.

10. Do you sleep with a stuffed animal? Just to make you feel better I do, I sleep with the bear my husband bought me when my Dad passed away.

I have a T-Rex and a dragon chilling on my bed, they’re soulmates and protect my dreams. Also on the furniture directly in front of my bed there is a group of 5 varied stuff animals and another one of 5 Piglets watching over too.

11.  Do you like doing crafty hobbies like sewing, knitting, metal working, or do you enjoy hobbies that involve collecting?

My only “craft” is writing. I sometime (like one every few months for a couple of days) knit, but it’s more to keep my hands occupied. I was collecting rocks when I was younger, but now the only things I collect are wips fics and books XD

1. what fandom have you been involved in that’s your favorite to date?

Definitely Kingsman. I have met so many people that I know are going to be life-long friends through it and my precious @insanereddragon Just for that Kingsman will always be my favourite.

2. what did you want to grow up to be when you were little?

An Egyptologue XD Seriously. But who didn’t XD Or a teacher. Even went to uni for the teacher one and after 2 weeks knew it wasn’t for me at all.

3. favorite places to shop online?

Sites like society6 and redbubble so that I can buy fandom related stuff without having to pay a million dollars or go to a convention.

4. first kiss! tell me all about it! and i you haven’t been kissed yet, how do you want it to go down? do you want to be kissed at all?

Ouh boy will you be disappointed with me XD So first kiss was just a normal kiss, no fanfare or anything and frankly not much to write home about. I remember who it was but not the circumstances (first boyfriend) and I don’t really feel like getting kissed again (at least romantically)? Which considering I am aromantic and don’t want a relationship, I should do just fine XD

5. who was the first author that you read with a voracious hunger?

Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman with their DragonLance series. I DEVOURED their books and reread them a bunch of them. They were my first “long for adult” books I read back when I was about 8 or 9 years old.

6. what color looks best on you?

I think red or purple. But maybe other people think differently XD

7. do you read your horoscope?

Just to see how wrong it is XD And to laugh about the “romance” part of it because, yeah no, I definitely ain’t meeting my prince today.

8. what are you most proud of in your life?

That I’ve managed to live alone for the past 3 years and that I have no debts and a nice little emergency stash of cash. I don’t know how I am doing it, but apparently, I am not so bad at that adulting thing.

9. favorite food & why!

CHOCOLATE. I would eat nothing but chocolate if I could. I just love chocolate okay. Anything chocolate. I don’t even have a sweet tooth, I have a chocolate tooth. Seriously. Offer me a dessert and except if it’s for pies, if it doesn’t have chocolate in it, I’ll be ‘meh, okay’. If there’s chocolate,  will take the whole thing and eat it all.

10. what scent do you have the strongest memory association with?

Oh man. Like when there’s been food cooking all day and you get inside the house. No matter what it is that’s cooking, I just have flashes of my childhood where my parents would let some spaghetti cook all day or going over to my grandmother for a birthday or holiday

11. favorite tea flavor!

Probably peppermint, but I do enjoy trying out new flavors when I can :)

Okay let's do this. I guess I'll be using my four main Ocs from my WIP.

Andromeda: Being a dark little ray of sociopathic sunshine, she hates the taste of coffee. Like if she were to drink coffee it would be practically all milk. However she does like hot chocolate a lot, maybe too much.

Atlas: Despite having such a tired personality he drinks coffee the most out of all my characters because he's always so busy and gets like no sleep. He likes it as dark as possible with no creamer. He might as well just take a bunch of coffea plant berries, roast them for as long as possible, grind them up, and add some water to make it into coffee.

Jacqueline: She has a lot to say about coffee because she's a writer and stays up a lot because everyone knows writers get inspiration at three in the morning. Like a classic white girl, she likes flavored coffee based on the time of the year, like pumpkin spice lattes or peppermint mocha, and she stocks up on those as much as possible. During the day she's probably at a coffee shop chugging expensive looking coffee because her gaurdians are super rich.

Luca: He likes his coffee scalding hot to feel the burn which then numbs his tounge for the rest of the drinking experience. He drinks all types of coffee, but he likes tea more. Black tea and green tea especially. It would be rare to see him without a cup of it in his hands.

(I don't know much about coffee so heh)

I like my OC like I like my Coffee

My friend @themildestofwriters did this prompt over on her blog and I’m going to give it a go!

A simple prompt: how does your OC make their coffee?

Schuyler: While coffee isn’t her first choice in beverage, she will drink it for the caffeine effect, especially after a particularly long shift or an overnight stakeout. Pure black, as dark as the night, and she slams it in one go because she isn’t drinking it for the taste. Moderately warm. However, tea is her go to. Three parts tea to one part creamer. Any flavor that is particularly sweet and enough artificial sugar to onset diabetes. She won’t let anyone else make tea for her because no one can fathom how much sugar she requires to make it sweet enough for her liking. And it has to be hot. She complains about ice tea because any amount of ice saturates the sugar and makes it “unbearable”.

Beau: With a dash of milk. No sugar of any kind. Scalding hot. He claims that the burning sensation is part of the experience. He limits himself to one cup a day because he knows addiction and knows how easily too much of a good thing can turn into a bad thing.

Edward: Drinks his with a dash of vanilla creamer, one natural sugar packet, and a dollop of honey. Always a cup with his first cigarette of the day. He usually drinks one or two cups extra when pouring over finances or plans for the upcoming week. 

Samantha: Some creamer. Usually a cinnamon, pumpkin, or holiday special flavor. As opposed to everyone else who likes a basic brew at home, Samantha loves Starbucks and any type of fancy (expensive) coffees in fast food chains. She loves the experience of drinking coffee and drinks several cups throughout the day. She drinks the most out of any.
