Part of me wishes I’d gone into illustration, because comics are my real passion and I could eventually learn a lot of stuff that’d make my drawing better. Like my environments /backgrounds would probably get way better way faster (even if I’d be forced to paint, which I hate).

But I also know that I would be miserable doing it and I can’t force myself to go through that cause things are bad enough as it is and I promised my younger self I wouldn’t do anything that’s make me wanna die like that again.

Graphic design is fine, I really do like it. I like learning about typography and working with abstract composition. And if college weren’t so damn expensive I’d have chosen illustration and then gone back for graphic design right after. It’s alright though, I’ll be ok, it’s just kind of a bummer that I spent all this time hoping I’d get into a college that’d really strengthen my drawing skills and then realizing once I was here that if I tried to do that I’d probably start self harming again.

yes, according to the Wintersession FAQ: "All undergraduates and graduate students can have access to free meals in the dining halls during Wintersession if they sign up for one or more Wintersession offering once registration opens in December. The free Wintersession meals will start with dinner the evening of Sunday January 14 and end with brunch on Sunday January 28"

dunno if i ever posted these here but i made these book covers last year during wintersession based on a story ive been developing on and off for years. the basic situation was that every next entry in the series had to share one color with the previous cover, and all the fonts and general placement of the type had to be similar. also each book cover had to start with the name of one of the characters.

this was before i'd taken any type classes so it's kind of rough but! i like it.
