Yuzuru Hanyu is a big fan of Tokyo Ghoul, so he was being given an opportunity to talk with Kaneki-kun (Of course it was Hanaecchi behind the scene, lol, Hanaecchi even greeted him at the start of the video)

Since when has Figure Skating become "Jumping competition"....???
*Before you read please make sure you know that I don’t have anything to offend Nathan Chen nor Alina Zagitova. They are wonderful, but the problem here is about those people who said that the artistry is not important in Figure Skating*
*If you find any mistake in my writing, please don’t mind those because English is not my first language*
Since when has Figure Skating become "Jumping competition"....?
Tumblr media
“It’s much more than a sport, it’s an art, it’s a way of life, it’s a dream, it’s a passion, it’s a feeling that no one can describe.”
We all know that Figure Skating (FS) is a popular sport around the world because of its unique beauty and the challenges in performance. Winter Olympic 2018, the American athlete, Nathan Chen attempted 6 quads successfully in his free skate program. I know that amazing but did anyone notice that other than those quad jumps, he didn’t really show much about the artistry in FS
Tumblr media
Nevertheless, some people didn’t think that way. In their opinion, techniques and jumps are the two things that matter in FS, and the artistry isn’t important anymore.
I want to make it clear for those people who said that FS doesn't need the artistry or say it isn’t important.... How lame they are....
I'm wondering what they were even watching?
All in their head were just about quad, axel, salchow, lutz jumps???
What about the musics, the feelings, the elegant movements, the expressions in figure skating?
And what did people say? Jumping make the figure skating become more excited to watch?! The excitement in competition?! Okay then but not keep jumping and jumping and jumping during the entire program. Didn't they feel boring?!
Even though jumps are going to give them high technical scores, but please... figure skating is not all about jumping... That doesn't impress at all...
Tumblr media
In the past, FS tended to be more artistic than now. Since all skaters have been trying to attemp more difficult elements and moves which make FS become harder in competing than ever and focus more and more on the jump techniques especially quad for now. Of course that every sport evolves from time to time; however, shouldn’t we get rid of the real beauty in it?
Tumblr media
Although now we have the Ice Dancing as a more artistic sport, that doesn’t mean that we should get rid of the art in FS.
In my opinion, good figure skaters make sure that their techniques and the artistic elements are equal! They flow with the music, with their passions in the performances. How grateful it is! Looking at the spirit inside their performances also, not only the techniques outside and you will see. Go watch Yuzuru Hanyu and then make a SERIOUS COMPARISON to Nathan!!!
(And I think some people know why Yuzuru is that famous! I’m sure that’s not a really compatible comparison because Yuzuru probably has more experiences than Nathan, but at least you’ll see my point :) )
Tumblr media
To be honest, even the performance of the female FS gold medalist - Alina Zagitova didn’t give me much feeling but those accurate jumps in the second half of her free skate. On the other hand, Evgenia Medvedeva won the silver medal, but she did so great and she brought all the passions, the spirits into her performance even though she didn't jump as great as Zagitova. (This is just my personal view!)
Tumblr media
Thus, if people still look forward to seeing more jumps and consider that the artistry is nothing important in FS, why don't we just simply remove the music, change the sport name to "Jumping On Ice" so then those people can go watch and enjoy their "LAME excitement in competition”.
Thank You!
P/s: I like Nathan because he’s such a potential skater, and I believe that he can be much greater in the future. (Maybe he needs a better coach who can help him go on the right path and not giving him the frustrated glances or an extremely disappointed face when he did a bad performance....)

Things I’m Loving this week.
1. The Winter Olympics – Professional sliding.
Humans are just fascinating. “Oooh, that stuff on the ground looks super slippy, let's strap on these blades / trays / planks and slide on it / up it / down it / across it.”
While there is no doubting the skill of these elite athletes, have you even been watching the Winter Olympics if you haven't at least once even fleetingly thought....'Hold my beer, I could do that'?
Tumblr media
2. Coconut Oil I know this has been on-trend for ages but have just discovered this recipe.
Salted Chocolate Caramel Bites Blend: Dates Maple Syrup Pinch Salt Dash water if needed
Gently Warm: Coconut Oil 150g Bit of peanut butter 5 table spoons drinking chocolate
Mix, chill, boom!
Tumblr media
3. Yellow This season I will mostly be obsessed with yellow; canary, lemon, mustard, gold; there is a shade to suit everyone so don’t shy away from this seasons sunshine staple.
Prosecco Budget: Try this Biker Jacket from Next £52. It will go with anything, jeans, dress, day to night. Clash it with a red lip, I dare you.
Tumblr media
Moet Budget:
Hobbs Orla Flora Scarf John Lewis £59. This scarf transcends seasons and transforms outfits.
Tumblr media
Bollinger Budget: Mulberry Bayswater Tote £725. Gently distressed leather, seriously distressed credit card but think *CPW (cost per wear) not CRN (cost right now).
Tumblr media
*My CPW theory has helped me justify many a purchase, umm I mean investment.
How to work out this CPW / Cost Per Wear How often will you use the handbag per month? Multiply that by 12 then multiply that by the number of years you will use it. Divide the cost of the piece by the resulting number. My last mulberry investment has actually only cost me 27p. True story.
One yellow statement piece at a time please girls, no one likes a show off.
4. Chubby Funny Some nicknames are better than others.Written and directed by Harry Michell, this is a story of two actor friends, one leading man material, the other described as ‘chubby funny’. Reminiscent at times of Morecambe and Wise and Withnail & I although nothing will ever be as good as the latter.
‘I’m not that chubby’ ‘You’re not even that funny’
Tumblr media
Out on DVD & Digital now. https://youtu.be/ed4SDQoNc5Q
5. Bees
I’ve always had a deep love and affinity with bees, my name Melissa comes from the Greek word μέλισσα meaning ‘bee’ which in turn comes from μέλι (meli) meaning ‘honey’.
I loved them so much as a child, when I was 5 I gently picked up one up that was resting innocently on a Rhododendron bush. I fully intended to keep it as a pet. It stung me and promptly died. I was distraught.
I am even more distraught now at the ongoing global bee decline due to factors including industrial agriculture, parasites, pathogens and climate change.
Tumblr media
Bees are critical pollinators responsible for $30 billion a year in crops. If we lose all the plants that bees pollinate, we lose all of the animals that eat those plants and so on up the food chain.
So this spring make it your mission to inspire kids to grow some wildflowers to bring back the bees and ensure a sustainable food system for their future.
This Wildflower mixture is just 40p from The Range
