no sburb beta earth au where dave "microcelebrity" strider suddenly gains a big following on the internet after a spike of people discover his sbahj comics online when a screenshot of one goes particularly viral and turns into a [top text/bottom text] meme and some hipsters are like "woah,, this is actually some really avant garde stuff". when he's churning these out sitting in the bathroom stall at school once a day during lunch period. so then he gets REALLY popular and then inevitably gets cancelled at some point when a communications/poli sci major reads one of his comics and then types up a whole memo board explaining how sbahj is actually neo-conservative propaganda written as part of a conspiracy to undermine the 2008 obama presidency. and there's a whole rage war since the memo board was written really convincingly with red arrows and circles drawn around sweet bro's head and everything and dave hasn't made any public statements about it and also no one actually understands what sbahj is about. so threads are being written up about this and people are like emailing death threats to each other over it and someone even tries to doxx him and then manages to find out he lives in texas and some people start actually taking the whole thing seriously because He's From Texas (never mind the fact it's houston). meanwhile dave just started his midterms and he has to focus because he actually cares about school and his future and so he takes a short "hiatus" which people freak out even more over because they take it as him backing away due to the allegations online. and then after winter break dave comes back and opens up a q&a for his 169th "bro wee ar doign it wee ar making it hapen" special and at some point after a barrage of questions in his inbox (q: was "swety bro and hela jeff crassh on the freway" inspired by a real car accident you were in? a: i don't own a car / q: what job do you have in real life? a: unemployed but i pick up roadkill off the street sometimes / q: who did you vote for in the 2008 primaries a: i didn't) someone finally has the bright idea to ask "hey how old are you" and he replies "i'm 13" and all hell breaks loose.

I'm going to be on a TEMPORARY semi-hiatus until my life becomes slightly less chaotic, aka I get a proper job, because I'm physically unable to write (too sick to have the energy to do it after studying and making icon commissions, and too poor to prioritize rp over those two things, I so need money especially now that winter is truly here and I need to buy heating pads etc).

I am still VERY inspired and haven't lost the wish to plot and roleplay, I miss you all and my blogs (like you have no idea, rp has been my primary and, at times, only, hobby for 12 years, I'm dying to be able to sit and write), which is why I'm saying semi hiatus and not hiatus: this way I can pop in and write a reply or two whenever I can physically do so, without feeling I must either respond to all drafts or not write at all. You are all still more than welcomed to send me memes and things, it will probably be easier to write new things than to go back to an old draft when I only have five minutes, but I do want to keep drafts, hell, I still want to plot with new followers and write starters! I just don't have the time/strength.

Introductions

So its a fandom based on the epic fantasy series that follows for the most part, 2 soulmates, from their childhood all the way to their older years as they grow from friendship, partners to lovers. And I have to admit, the way it's written is almost euphoric. It's utterly lyrical.

So introductions now put aside, 'Fitzloved' is the ship name for "Beloved" (one of his many names) name of the characters and "Fitz". They are the two ongoing protagonists in one of the most respect and wonderful high fantasy series ever created, Realm of the Elderlings by Robin Hobb. They are the main couple shall we say that span the 16 book series. I think a lot describe it as the "mona lisa of fantasy series" within the genre. It's aesthetic is very much evermore meets folklore meets Merlin. Its veryyyyy cozy fantasy and perfect for the season but also the Fall/winter.

The big 5 writers of fantasy rn i have been told are: Brandon's, Robin Hobb's, GRRM (Although he's lost a lot of respect in the community because of his insane hiatus!), Steven Erickson's (Malazan series) and Joe Abercrombie. While you will see with the Cosmere, Brandon is very much straight to the point, prioritises fights, magic system building and very cohesive ensamble casts. Unlike her peers, Robin Hobb on the other hand, is a delicacy. A slowly made dessert that has sweet and salty tastes if you will. And another defining feature is that her series does not involve a massive war at the epicentre of the fantasy plot, which ironically is rare in high fantasy now a days.

HOWEVER. The WAY in which i was introduced to this series is kind of dumb and silly, i.e. very me lol. i stumbled across a fiction on ao3 under 'in a the cabin era way' tag and stumbled across @tragediegh's soul-binding, amazing wonderful fiction called Of Cats and Closed Doors that is still ongoing and she updates mostly weekly! At first, not joking i thought it was an original work, but only well into crying, loving, reading, laughing, did i realise when i looked better at the tags it was actually based on ROTE lol. I was new to ao3 that's my only defence :P

And what @tragediegh and Hobb are doing probably tell from my handle, is make literally my roman empire. Like I reread chapters everyday before going to sleep. It's fr fr my safe space. and what i love is the maturity in which they both write, as they create stakes in different ways. She creates a very tangible atmosphere, a world you can touch, the foods cooked, how they smell, and what the character's rely on. From banquet halls, to the wood carvings the Fool leaves behind, the well lit fireplaces, mugs of ale and coffee on the table, through jewels adorned, to how the dragons gleaming like jewels in the sky… it's simply amazing. You get me. There is NEVER a moment where you feel like it's a slog or dull moment. Like I did sometimes while reading the Stormlight Archive or Outlander (those books in their defence, are longer individually).

And like I said, the thing I LOVE the most with how they make us and fall in love with Fool (one of the protagonists) through the eyes of naive and a socially sometimes challenged Fitz. Fitz himself, is the most passionate, handsome, humble hero i've ever read. He is a bastard prince who from day 0 was neglected, abused, unwanted, un-named, manipulated, gaslit just all around most traumatised character one could read. Which most people end up overlooking and resenting bc he is riddled with insecurities (despite him being a hotttie hot chiseled smokie pie that everyone wants to cuffff) and developed unhealthy copying mechanisms that can effect the readability of the main series. Which is entirely relatable. I strongly believe the hero of Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson that everybody loves, is heavily inspired by Fitz in ROTE. In fact I think Brandon said it was one of his fav series.

But really, the masterpiece of this world is obviously the Fool. When I look at the other characters, its a bit like watching a glorious puppet show - I can see how the strings are moving and what the puppets are made of…But not so with the Fool, he is an infinite mystery and creating a character like that is something I`ll never be able to get out of my head. he is other worldly. Put Tolkien fae and beautiful faeries to shame with his grace, elegance, mysticism. His story with Fitz (the other main character) with that @tragediegh and Hobb are doing imo is one of the greatest love stories of all time.

Gender Identity

And I think also, Fool (also known as Beloved to a special someone 😉) is a lgbtq+ individual, and their identity and how they chose to present and address themselves daily (and not address it!) plays a massive role in the ROTE/OCACD overall. It extremely realistic, how it's writen, where for the most part some characters are confused, don't know how to navigate the topic. Which isn't helped by how private and mysterious the Fool remains. But for the most part, is heart warming, as the gender fluidity of the Fool is openly accepted by his mate (YES MATE) with open arms as he accepts it, and it's got me CRYINGGGG as i type this fr....! These characters were created pre-2000's, which just goes to show how timeless these gender questions and acceptances really are i think!

Conclusion

So yeah, I cannot recommend enough this ongoing story and series to you.

TLDR: Fitzloved is a ship i read myself to sleep every night and cry about how amazing they are XD

Instagram by default since I don't have Facebook and I don't intend to have, but my Instagram account is currently on hiatus.

Blue raspberry? Never heard of it.

What is one annoying thing your computer does?

It lags, even though I upgraded its RAM from 8 GB to 32 GB. It's very weird how can it lag then.

Rather rediscovered, jewellery making.

What's the wildest animal you've ever come in contact with?

European wildcat. I adopted female wildcat by accident, not knowing she was actually a wildcat. She gave birth to four kittens and disappeared, the father was the neighbourhood cat, the most gentle kitty boy ever. That's how I got my Victoria, she was a hybrid of European wildcat and European shorthair. But she didn't have a wildcat personality, at least towards humans. She was a cuddly ball like her father when interacting with humans, and aggressive like her mother towards other cats. Like two cats in one.

This is also how I got Paulina, Victoria's sister. She was much more of a wildcat than Victoria, likely had a different father (yes, it can happen that the kittens in one litter come from different fathers). Paulina was the most hilarious kitty I've ever had, she was so amusing. I loved her, too, even though she was more likely to make a mess at home just because she was doing funny things.

Do you trust your doctor?

Absolutely. Particularly my neurologist and the specialist who takes care of physical disabilities, revalidation and sport injuries. They're both great.

Do you ever question if your mother loves you?

I used to question it all the time when I was younger. She didn't have as much affection to me as she had to my sister.

summer's over and winter approaches, which means ✨️ winter depression! ✨️

In all seriousness, I'm going to be a little less proactive here on the blog, creating memes and shitposts myself. I know this blog is still relatively new and sustained partially by the many submissions I'm super grateful for, but seasonal depression and other mental health issues are starting to rear their ugly heads already. There's no hiatus or anything, but there might be an empty queue on some days for the time being as I focus on other creative projects (creative writing, art, going back to school) as well as general life stuff.

(fandom update and appreciation)

Hello, I'm back!

These past months daily life has taken over and lead me into a fandom hiatus. After the end of twitter as we knew it I kinda lost connection and tbh it has been refreshing. While I've always kept to my own corner and away from big drama, just being in fandom on social media these days has pulled me down and I probably burned myself out over it (again).

During my break I rediscovered that I can actually enjoy things casually (I'm still playing Pokémon and started watching Winter Begonia), and that I can both consume and create things just for myself to enjoy without the constant internal pressure of seeking engagement dopamine. 

But now I'm at a point where I'm starting to miss all the good fandom stuff (meaning YOU guys out there!). I miss seeing your Xie'er hcs, your Sleuth memes and the JGY protection squad, and I'm glad that fandom always perseveres and I can simply come back after a break and y'all are still doing what you're doing. ❤️

So, what's new? Well, after intentionally ignoring it for the past years, I'm getting sucked into TGCF right now. I watched the 2nd donghua season as it aired and wanted to know more, so I finally continued reading it. I'm also doing that very slowly and am currently in the middle of the 3rd book. 

I've been reading some fic, watching videos and I know myself enough by now to see the pattern of falling into a new thing. It's both enticing and scary to once more get into something with a big following. I really love the experience of being in small, committed fandoms, but there's also something really cool about the sense that there's an infinite amount of fan content out there waiting for you. Also, the specific danger of being tempted by MERCH I can buy in an actual STORE where I live!?! Haven't had that in over 20 years. (Yes, MDZS has merch here, too, but none that I care about 😅).

For now I'm still trying to be casual about it and avoid spoilers (I know the vague plot lines, that shit will only keep going downhill, and who's behind BWX - I guess that's hard not to learn by fandom osmosis- but I'm looking the other way whenever any details come up.) 

Maybe I'll start posting some reactions as I keep going through the novels, but I don't want to feel like I'm reading it for content. Probably I'll feel the urge to write fic in the future, and my prediction is that I'll find myself in the Junlian corner (Unhealthy, one-sided obsession with a power imbalance? When have I ever resisted that!).

Oh, and on the note of doing things very slowly - Yes, I still have plans to finish the Jia Kui/Wang Zhi/Ding Rong fic I started writing... ehm, a year ago? 🙃 I'm just beginning to feel motivated again, and it's almost done, so there's hope. 我还在!

you've been around, so what was your favorite hxh era (on tumblr or in general)

2015 was when I joined and that first year was the most active I ever saw. It was great in 2016 as well, with the hxhbb starting its first year, zines on the high, a huge fandom. I remember long nights playing cards against humanity with a custom hxh deck, and games of jackbox with that in mind. I remember memes and the beginning of the daily blogs. I remember the first summer Exchange, and then winter, and the rise and fall of giants. I remember the great chaotic users who plagiarized 1 direction fics into hxh fics, and leave call out posts in their wake. I remember the dark years of 2017-2018 where trump & tonpa lurked in the background. This is when great elusive theories came to light - The hisoka backstory, the idea of the pregnancy stone, the kite and killua theory, the long long hiatus. I also remember in 2019 when hxh came back to life, and fandom came alive. Predictions and panic, wondering what would happen to the main 4 and the troupe. I remember my horror and betrayal at the death of shal and Kortopi, and the sinking feeling that the DC arc was only going to be worse. Through disasters I have watched and waited, overcoming the #freak movement, and the anti hxhbb, overcoming the fall of nsfw on Tumblr, the Netflix hxh resurgence, the anti movement, the return of the manga, and the ever changing fandom.

Another year flies by, but 2015 will always be special because it was the start

I hope if anything I've given people a community in fandom, and a place to be creative through the years :)
