Hey want to hear my super sad Ven and Lauriam au? Good cause I wasn't actually asking >:)
So what if when everyone was deciding who goes into the lifeboats Lauriam decided that Ven was small enough that they could share a lifeboat and leave an extra so not as many would be left behind (how that changes things probably not much sadly. They all still get separated across time never to see each other again except Ven and Lauriam).
But then they both end up in the keyblade graveyard. Ven gets complete amnesia and while Lauriam is pretty woosy and doesn't remember everything of their trip to the future he does remember he needs to find Strelitzia, that he has more friends he needs to find and above all else protect Ven. Unfortunately Xehanort finds them (thanks magic mirror -_-) and recognizes them with as the friends from his dreams. Xehanort initially promises to help Lauriam in anyway he can and offers to train him to be stronger. Lauriam doesn't have a lot of options especially with a weakened amnesiac Ven so he initially agrees.
He comes to regret that when the training is essentially xehanort trying to force them into roles of light and dark to create the x-blade which of course fails. Ven doesn't remember much but he does remember Lauriam as one of his friends and the two boys refuse to fight each other. So they often get absolutely thrashed by xehanort. Since ven is still inexperienced he's not able to win on his own and Lauriam focuses more on protecting Ven so he gets beaten due to lack of focus. Days will go by where xehanort leaves them in a wounded injuries state on the ground before healing. And usually he just heals Ven since he's still not strong enough to be a threat.
Lauriam has tried to make some escape attempts to get them to away safety but xehanort is too strong to take on alone especially if lauriam is purposely left in a half healed state.
Eventually xehanort starts to focus more on Ven since he knows he has a powerful darkness trapped inside. Ways of trying to draw it out have included Lauriam being ganged up on by too many enemies and Ven failing to fend off enough to effectively protect him. Ven being forced to fight wave after wave of enemies to get to a tied up Lauriam and getting overwhelmed. Xehanort hopes by pushing him to the brink of death darkness will break free but doesn't.
Eventually his patience grows thin, he thinks an all out assault on Ven's life will finally do it. A critically injured laruaim is off to the side as neo shadow heartless circle around Ven. Lauriam is desperately trying to summon the strength to get to his little brother but can't. Ven is begging for mercy but is ignored and is then nearly torn apart by said heartless as lauriam watches on in horror.
We then get the actual scene of xehanort tearing Ven in two pulling Darkness and Ven's natural born darkness out creating Vanitas. Lauriam struggles to Ven and desperately pulls him away and panics when he sees the light both literally and figuratively leaving Ven's eyes and heart and realizes he's dying. Desperate Lauriam gets up to attack but is knocked down by Vanitas. However the blast creates a portal and Lauriam gets sucked away leaving a dying Ven alone with xehanort.
Lauriam ends up somewhere else (maybe dwarven woodlands) it takes a while for him to gain enough strength let alone energy to heal but he has to find Ven.
Years go by and he's been chasing rumors about a girl with orange pigtails and a boy with spiky blond hair and a key shaped sword. Hope that they're both alive and within in reach. He makes his way to Radiant Garden only to run into Braig/Xigbar/Luxu who recognizes him. Seeing potential in Lauriam Luxu challenges Lauriam and beats him then takes him to the research basement where the other future org members are disappearing. Luxu makes vague references to Ven catching Lauriams attention and demands to know where he is.
Only for Luxu to give him the suggest cruelest grin and be told Ven is dead. They captured him and tortured him for information on the keyblade war and foretellers but he didn't give them anything. No longer useful they decided to get rid of him but before they did he told then they'd all be sorry when Lauriam comes to save him and he'd make them pay. Luxu delivers the crushing blow that Ven died calling and begging for his brother to save him.
This does the job and Lauriam succumbs to darkness and willingly gives up his heart. The crushing weight of failure, grief, and regret too much to bear. He failed his siblings. He didn't protect them and now they're both gone he has nothing left so becoming a Nobody is a welcome respite from the agony he feels.
And as he walks the hallowed halls of Castle Oblivion Marluxia gets the strangest feeling of dejavu as if something important is here but he can't quite put his finger on it but if it really were that important well he would've remembered it right?
Meanwhile deep in the chamber of waking Ven sleeps safe but imprisoned and even though he's waiting for a different friend to come save him his dreams show that he longs for someone else to open his eyes and promise him everything will be alright.
TL;DR what if Lauriam and Ven escaped together become Xehanorts victims, Lauriam couldn't stop Ven from being ripped in two they get separated again, he refuses to believe Ven is gone and that's the only thing that keeps him going for years, only to be lied and told that the only person he had left is gone and he failed miserably to save them and their last moments were begging to be saved, so losing his heart was all Lauriam could do to escape his pain.

^ my honest reaction to this

It's the first day of summer in Windflower Bay, and it's time to visit the Hawkins family!
Last Round: Harper and Beaumont moved from the coral cottage to a newer, much bigger house with a garden. Harper gave birth to twin boys named Hermes and Henry. Sydney Clemens stopped by several times to be a nuisance. Harper and Beaumont finally got married in their backyard and while it was a failure on several fronts, everyone still had a great time. Finally, Harper aged into an elder and Hamlet aged into a Family/Romance teen!
This is a difficult family to play (no money, twin toddlers, low-learning parents), but I always have fun. Look at Hermes and Henry in their little montessori beds <3

Do you have favorite quotes related about the importance of small details?
“The precious intimacy of little things.”
— Daphné du Maurier, I Will Never Be Young Again
“On my windowsill when I got home, there was a tumbler with pink jelly in it, and embedded in the jelly, sliced strawberries and bananas… [my neighbour] cooks at odd hours. She must have made the strawberry jelly this morning. When I buy baklava, which is not often because I eat too many, I leave a few for her on her windowsill, with a headscarf over them so the wasps don’t come. For these little gifts we don’t thank each other with words. They are commas of care.”
— John Berger, From A to X: A Story in Letters
Tumblr media
“I suppose I could spend time theorizing how it is that people are not bad to each other, but that’s really not the point. The point is that in almost every instance of our lives, our social lives, we are, if we pay attention, in the midst of an almost constant, if subtle, caretaking. Holding open doors. Offering elbows at crosswalks. Letting someone else go first. Helping with the heavy bags. Reaching what’s too high, or what’s been dropped. Pulling someone back to their feet. Stopping at the car wreck, at the struck dog. The alternating merge, also known as the zipper. This caretaking is our default mode and it’s always a lie that convinces us to act or believe otherwise. Always.”
“One of the woman was gently arranging an older woman’s collar beneath her sweater, freeing it from the cardigan’s neck, using both of her hands to jostle it free but also seeming to spend a little more time than necessary, creasing the fold of the collar, the other hand kind of resting on her shoulder, the two of them chatting the whole time, sitting there holding each other, nodding, my head twisting toward them like a sunflower as I finished the stairs and walked by, so in love was I with this common flourish of love, this everyday human light.”
“but her need to share the photo with me [...] smiling and looking at it, smiling and looking at me looking at it, me smiling and looking at her looking at it, which is simply called sharing what we love, what we find beautiful, which is an ethics.”
— Ross Gay, The Book of Delights
“He’s got a fever. He’s all alone. So I’m gonna buy him something to eat.” “The congee downstairs is quite good.” “He doesn’t want congee.” “What does he want?” “Can’t taste anything so he wants sesame syrup.” [...] “What are you cooking?” “I had a sudden craving for sesame syrup.”
“Why did you call me at the office today?” “I had nothing to do. I wanted to hear your voice.”
— In the Mood for Love, dir. Wong Kar-Wai
Tumblr media
— Danusha Laméris, “Small Kindnesses”
“It all matters. That someone turns out the lamp, picks up the windblown wrapper, says hello to the invalid, pays at the unattended lot, listens to the repeated tale, folds the abandoned laundry, plays the game fairly, tells the story honestly, acknowledges help, gives credit, says good night, resists temptation, wipes the counter, waits at the yellow, makes the bed, tips the maid, remembers the illness, congratulates the victor, accepts the consequences, takes a stand, steps up, offers a hand, goes first, goes last, chooses the small portion, teaches the child, tends to the dying, comforts the grieving, removes the splinter, wipes the tear, directs the lost, touches the lonely, is the whole thing. What is most beautiful is least acknowledged. What is worth dying for is barely noticed.”
— Laura McBride, We Are Called to Rise
“I’ve never told you this,” she said. “But there’s something about taking the cart back instead of leaving it in the parking lot. I don’t know when this came to me; it was a few years ago. There’s a difference between leaving it where you empty it and taking it back to the front of the store. It’s significant.” “Because somebody has to take them in.” “Yes. And if you know that, and you do it for that one guy, you do something else. You join the world…You move out of your isolation and become universal.”
— Andre Dubus, “Out of the Snow”
“It’s true that, in Vietnamese, we rarely say I love you, and when we do, it is almost always in English. Care and love, for us, are pronounced clearest through service: plucking white hairs, pressing yourself on your son to absorb a plane’s turbulence and, therefore, his fear. Or now—as Lan called to me, “Little Dog, get over here and help me help your mother.” And we knelt on each side of you, rolling out the hardened cords in your upper arms, then down to your wrists, your fingers. For a moment almost too brief to matter, this made sense—that three people on the floor, connected to each other by touch, made something like the word family.”
— Ocean Vuong, On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous: A Novel
Tumblr media
— Ada Limón, from “The Great Blue Heron of Dunbar Road”
“I’m doing a balancing act with a stack of fresh fruit in my basket. I love you. I want us both to eat well.”
— Christopher Citro, from “Our Beautiful Life When It’s Filled WIth Shrieks”
“One of the primary ways we connect with each other is by eating together. Some of the connection happens simply by being in the same place at the same time and sharing the same food, but we also connect through specific actions, such as serving food to one another or making toasts: ‘May I offer you some potatoes?’ ‘Here’s to your health and happiness.’ Much of our fundamental well-being comes from the basic reassurance that there is a place for us at the table. We belong here. Here we are served and we serve others. Here we give and receive sustenance.”
— Edward Espe Brown, Tomato Blessings and Radish Teaching
“Attention is the beginning of devotion.”
“Now in the spring I kneel, I put my face into the packets of violets, the dampness, the freshness, the sense of ever-ness. Something is wrong, I know it, if I don’t keep my attention on eternity. May I be the tiniest nail in the house of the universe, tiny but useful. May I stay forever in the stream. May I look down upon the windflower and the bull thistle and the coreopsis with the greatest respect.”
“it is a serious thing
just to be alive on this fresh morning in this broken world.”
— Mary Oliver, Upstream: Selected Essays / from “Invitation”
Tumblr media
— Wendy Cope, “The Orange”
“After learning my flight was detained 4 hours, I heard the announcement: if anyone in the vicinity of gate 4-A understands any Arabic, please come to the gate immediately. Well—one pauses these days. Gate 4-A was my own gate. I went there. An older woman in full traditional Palestinian dress, just like my grandma wore, was crumpled to the floor, wailing loudly. Help, said the flight service person. Talk to her. What is her problem? We told her the flight was going to be four hours late and she did this. I put my arm around her and spoke to her haltingly. Shu dow-a, shu-biduck habibti, stani stani schway, min fadlick, sho bit se-wee? The minute she heard any words she knew—however poorly used—she stopped crying. She thought our flight had been canceled entirely. She needed to be in El Paso for some major medical treatment the following day. I said no, no, we’re fine, you’ll get there, just late. Who is picking you up? Let’s call him and tell him. We called her son and I spoke with him in English. I told him I would stay with his mother until we got on the plane and would ride next to her—Southwest. She talked to him. Then we called her other sons just for the fun of it. Then we called my dad and he and she spoke for a while in Arabic and found out, of course, they had ten shared friends. Then I thought just for the heck of it why not call some Palestinian poets I know and let them chat with her. This all took up about 2 hours. She was laughing a lot by then. Telling about her life. Answering questions. She had pulled a sack of homemade mamool cookies—little powdered sugar crumbly mounds stuffed with dates and nuts—out of her bag—and was offering them to all the women at the gate. To my amazement, not a single woman declined one. It was like a sacrament. The traveler from Argentina, the traveler from California, the lovely woman from Laredo—we were all covered with the same powdered sugar. And smiling. There are no better cookies. And then the airline broke out the free beverages from huge coolers—non-alcoholic—and the two little girls from our flight, one African American, one Mexican American—ran around serving us all apple juice and lemonade, and they were covered with powdered sugar, too. And I noticed my new best friend—by now we were holding hands—had a potted plant poking out of her bag, some medicinal thing with green furry leaves. Such an old country traveling tradition. Always carry a plant. Always stay rooted to somewhere. And I looked around that gate of late and weary ones and thought, this is the world I want to live in. The shared world. Not a single person in this gate—once the crying of confusion stopped—has seemed apprehensive about any other person. They took the cookies. I wanted to hug all those other women, too. This can still happen anywhere. Not everything is lost.”
— Naomi Shihab Nye, “Gate A4″
Tumblr media
“Then there are the things, if you are particularly lucky, that this person has done for you while you’re away: how in the pantry, in the freezer, in the refrigerator will be all the food you like to eat, the scotch you like to drink. There will be the sweater you thought you lost the previous year at the theater, clean and folded and back on its shelf. There will be the shirt with its dangling buttons, but the buttons will be sewn back in place. There will be your mail stacked on one side of his desk; there will be a contract for an advertising campaign you’re going to do in Germany for an Austrian beer, with his notes in the margin to discuss with your lawyer. And there will be no mention of it, and you will know that it was done with genuine pleasure, and you will know that part of the reason—a small part, but a part—you love being in this apartment and in this relationship is because this other person is always making a home for you, and that when you tell him this, he won’t be offended but pleased, and you’ll be glad, because you meant it with gratitude.”

Note
Do you have any other BL/yaoi/shounen ai that you recommend? Thanks! :)
Yes, I have tons of manga that I love! But many of them haven’t been released in English yet, so I’ll stick to the ones that are officially available. You didn’t state if you’re new to BL, or if you’ve been into it for years, so I’ll just recommend what I like no matter how old/new or popular/unknown. I usually prefer a solid story over lots of sex, because if I can’t bond with the characters I don’t care if they’re fucking (unless the author draws great sex scenes :D). I also prefer non-school settings and grown up characters, because I’m old.
Anyway, on to the list (sorted by publisher & listed alphabetically):
Sublime:
Blue Morning
by Shoko Hidaka (I love historical settings! + Great art and story)
Candy Color Paradox
by Isaku Natsume (Such a fun read!)
Coyote
by Ranmaru Zariya (The Art! And the story is great too!)
Embracing Love
by Youka Nitta (A classic + I love switching couples.)
Jackass!
by Scarlet Beriko (I love all her works and her female characters kick ass which is rare.)
Lost Letters
by Sakae Kusama (I have a thing for unique art styles and great storytelling.)
Say Please
by Kano Miyamoto (She used to be my favorite artist over ten years ago.)
The Match Seller
by Sakae Kusama
Two of Hearts
by Kano Miyamoto
VOID
by Ranmaru Zariya (Zariya-sensei draws the hottest sex scenes!)
Renta:
A Windflower Embroidery
by m:m (A very unique story and couple)
Let’s be a Family
by Tomoko Kurahashi (God, I love these two!)
My Dearest Cop
by Niyama (Funny, hot, Doumeki-like seme!)
My Fickle Jaguar
by Unohana (I love all their works but this is my absolute favorite!)
Neon Ginza Paradise
by Unohana (This is my second favorite work by them!)
Someday I’ll fall for you
by Tomoko Kurahashi (The same couple as above. This is their backstory.)
The Second Sales Division!!
by Kei Kanai (This one is so cute and makes you feel all warm and fuzzy.)
Juné:
Classmates*
by Asumiko Nakamura (A classic and must read because beautiful story and art)
Graduate Spring / Winter*
by Asumiko Nakamura (The just-as-beautiful sequel)
The Love that Binds
by Rou Kuzuya (Switching couple!)
Wild Rose
by Haruko Kumota (All her works are recommended, including the non-BL ones.)
Ze
by Yuki Shimizu (I’ve been her fan since Love Mode. She always draws series with several couples. Shoui and Asari from volume 9 are one of my OTPs.)
futekiya:
At 25:00, in Akasaka
by Natsuno Hiroko
Mood Indigo
by Marukido Maki (One of my top 3 favorite authors! This is the backstory of the uke from Pornographer.)
Pornographer
by Marukido Maki (I love this couple so much! Read this one before Mood Indigo)
Shinjuku Lucky Hole
by Kumota Haruko
Lezhin:
Wolf in the House
by Park Ji-yeon (I rarely read Manwha but this one I love!)
Extra:
In These Words
by
Guilt | Pleasure
(Pretty dark and violent at times, but the art is amazing! I actually love David x Katsuya even more than Shinohara x Katsuya.)
I also recommend everything by Yoneda Kou, but I guess I don’t have to state the obvious. ;)
By the way:
In case you haven’t heard of futekiya Library yet: It’s a new subscription service for BL manga that launched only two months ago. For 6.99 USD per month you can access their whole catalogue. They only have 30 titles so far (as of September 2019) but they are quickly and constantly expanding. They already announced 27 more licenses on Yaoi Day, so you’ll get lots of great BL for little money. This is a great way to support BL artists, so I highly recommend checking them out if you haven’t yet!
*Edit: Thanks to @cyclemama for pointing out that Seven Seas Entertainment is currently publishing Classmates and the sequels with a new translation (digital and print)!

FEBRUARY SCHEDULE
Each schedule post provides a snapshot into the way the company is marketing your group as a whole, the expectations they have for your involvement in the industry, and so forth. They’ll range from fun things like CF deals to run of the mill events like fan parties, concerts, or rest time. We’ll be varying things across the board and using this as a way to tease upcoming plot lines for groups. Schedules illuminate the often difficult realities of being an idol, and because of that we award +5 exp / + 5 sp to those who complete a 350+ 4/4 thread or a 500 word solo. Solos must be completed during the three week run of the schedule, but threads may be finished after the end of the prompt provided they were started well in excess of the end point (e.g. finishing up a reply or two after is fine, but posting the starter right before the next prompt goes up is not). These needn’t be taken extremely literally when threading and are open to tangential preparation threads and other flexibility.
OLYMPUS
As promotions for Universe wrap up and goodbye stages are recorded, the boys are sitting pretty at the top of the charts fairly consistently, with the song truly outperforming expectations. Perhaps as a result, to continue building momentum, the boys will begin a one day filming for an upcoming short v-live series, Olympus Arcade. They’ll play a variety of games over the course of the day to be rewarded with snacks and penalties for the losing team. The episodes will be divided over 5 15 minute increments.
JINX
The girls of JiNX are guesting on A Real Man, in a brief one episode appearance. They’ll be doing a special concert for the soldiers as a thank you for their service and dedication. THey’ll have the chance to perform with some civilian soldiers, as well as performing a few of their hit songs from throughout their career.  It’s certain to give the soldiers something to talk about happily for weeks to come, as well as keep the girls in the spotlight between promotions. The reference for this episode can be found here.
TITANIUM
The boys of Titanium will be appearing on Kiss the Radio for a New Year’s special greeting. They’ll be given the chance to engage with viewers in q&a sessions and advice giving across the hours they’ll be guesting on the show, as well as an opportunity to sing a few of their songs completely live.  It’s sure to showcase a new and special side of the boys, given they’re known for such thematic performances- this will give fans a chance to see a more pared back rendition!
AURORA
Aurora will be doing a special cover stage for the new year, performing the classic Girl’s Generation Into the New World, a fitting message of uplifting hope for the new year and, frankly, something of a right of passage for all girl groups. They’ll be performing it on a special episode of Music Premiere and will be given a short opportunity to film a special New Year greeting for fans thereafter. For reference, a fancam can be found here.
HEAVEN
With a much anticipated comeback on the horizon, the girls of Heaven are expected to be hard at work. They’ll be filming promotional material this month, alongside the music video for the upcoming track Windflower. Expectations are high as this will be the first time the girls really and truly demonstrate they’re making a hard break from the summer promotional aesthetic, instead of toeing the line of the edge of summer as they have with some of their more recent promotions. It also leads to rumors that the new co-ed group’s debut aims to take over the summer market, perhaps causing some pressure on Heaven to solidify their new role.
POIZN
After a stellar year and with Imperial sidelined by scandal, POIZN is back on top in 99 in terms of CEO favoritism, and on a related note will spend the month of February preparing for an Asia tour, canvassing China, Korea, Japan, and some stops in Southeast Asia as well. They’ll be tasked with selecting solo song performances, preparing their choreography for all songs involved, and going through the rigorous process of styling and preparation that will come with the upcoming grueling schedules. Promotional materials will begin shooting right after Seollal, starting with concert VCRs and promotional images for merchandise and advertisements. Get yourself in shape boys, it’s not going to be easy!
IMPERIAL
As a special track for the popular Reply 1997 drama, the boys of Imperial will be doing a cover of the Sechs Kies song Dear Love, updated for the present day! It’s sure to cause a bit of a buzz given the involvement between a member of Imperial and the lead actress of the show. It’s definitely a noise marketing attempt, and one that will likely pay off in a big way, at least in terms of general attention brought to the show and the group in turn, as well as bringing alongside it a healthy dose of criticism. Such is the price of media play! The song reference is here.
CHERRY BOMB!
CHERRY BOMB! is ramping up for the future, picking up a brand deal with Etude House. This is a good step forward for the girls, as they need to be establishing themselves firmly so that the rookie girl group of MSG can grow in their own right. They’ll be spending a packed two days of filming on the commercial series as well as the various promotional photographs to be displayed in advertisements and stores across the country. It’s a more moody aesthetic than Etude House often goes for, to reflect the season and the girl’s aesthetic. They’ll each have a fun color named after them in the new lip lacquer line. Reference for the cf and aesthetic is here.
INDIGO
With a comeback in the first half of February, the boys are hard at work preparing. Last minute finalizations on song and stage choreography are in order, alongside reviewing the final product in terms of video, styling choices, and more. It’s a sprint to the comeback stages at this point, as well as a month of hard work on music shows nad promotional activities alike. Notably the boys will be featured on Idol Master where they will have a chance to greet fans, show off their charms, and provide a signed album copy to be auctioned off to a member of the audience, whom they’ll have a chance to communicate with via video call, where they can turn the tables and ask the fans questions, too! Reference can be found here.
1NFERNO & MAYDAY
Following the steps of Atlas in the past, 1nferno and MayDay will be joining the new season of Birth of a Family! This time the series will follow two groups and two sets of dogs, taken care of by 1nferno and MayDay in what is clearly a bit of a two for the price of one deal that certainly appealed to producers. They’ll be taking care of two dogs per group for the next month, and will be tasked with caring for them, training them, and promoting the importance of adopting, not shopping, and raising awareness of animal abandonment in South Korea! Feel free to take some creative license with your members regarding breed and names of the dogs!
ATLAS
With a comeback in the second half of the month, Atlas is hard at work on filming and preparation. Last minute choreography adjustments are always a given with Atlas, so the boys will be working through that, as well as recording a New Year greeting for their fans, complete with hanbok! There’s a rumor, o f course, that the hanbok motif and the fun traditional music backing the greeting are a secret teaser in and of themselves, but even the boys won’t confirm it publicly.  They’re at the end of filming for the music video and teasers and will be recording the dance practice version soon as well. It’ll be a packed schedule leading up into promotions.
JAWBREAKER
With some successful work for KJH under their belt, Jawbreaker will be filming GO! season two for their Vlive series, continuing to follow in the footsteps of Atlas Run! They’ll be playing a “find the criminal” style game at Jobworld, taking on the roles of flower shop owner (main dance), bakery owner (lead/lead), mart owner (main rap), and policewoman (main vocal)! They’ll be following the general goal and format of BTS RUN episodes 47 and 48, which can also have been assumed to have taken place in character with Atlas in the past, furthering a brother/sister narrative to the groups, despite the atypical story of Jawbreaker’s genesis.
NITRO
Taking a leaf out of KJH’s book, Nitro will be following in the footsteps of other artists and starting a VLive show. However, it will be mostly in a self-produced and self-filmed format that KTM hopes will further their relatable and approachable imagery, continuing a close connection with the fans. The show will be named NITROus, as both a play on their chemical referencing fan name combination (NITRO+gen = nitrogen) and as a message that they will always be close to the fans. For the first episode they’ll be eating and talking together at a meat restaurant, demonstrating their natural affection and friendliness and boyish attitudes. The reference link can be found here. It can be assumed they’ll continue filming with the second episode and third in this month as well, though their releases may be staggered.
XLNC
WIth a comeback in the second half of the month, XLNC are hard at work finishing the polishing notes of their b-sides, as well as preparing for their various guerilla and busking promotional activities. As usual, promotion for XLNC is somewhat lacking as it is not typical “idol” fare. However, the boys have recently been enrolled in intensive and mandatory Japanese lessons, which gives rise to the question of what might be in store for them in a few months. They’ll be expected to study simultaneously with their music show promotional schedule this month, so they’re sure to be quite tired.
NIGHTMARE
With a debut from the Dawn subunit on the horizon, the girls are in a flurry. Everyone seems to be working on something different. Dusk’s promotions will follow shortly after Dawn’s wrap up, so they’re already hard at work finishing the filming for their videos, even as Dawn begin promoting on music shows. Eve on the other hand are in the song and image selection portion of things, as Dawn has been assigned a bright and fresh image more prone to ballads, with Dusk taking on a quirky creepy and electropop image, it seems that Eve will be left with a more girl-crush tonality, bolstered by the fact the two rappers of the group have been assigned that unit. This gives Nightmare muns a lot of room to explore reactions to subunit styling.

Aight lads I have come once again to break hearts because Lauriam and Ven have me in a chokehold and this is the saddest yet. Also I am in no way a competent writer so if any of your mutuals or followers want to take these ideas and run with it please by all means go ahead I will be lurking on ao3 waiting for fics and ready with kudos.
Biggest #1 change. Everything is the same except Ventus is actually Lauriam and Strelitzia's actual little brother. Their parents died when Ven was a toddler so 9-year-old Lauriam was now a single parent to his two younger siblings so the protective instinct runs deep.
Since Ven doesn't really remember their parents whenever he tries to picture them all he can see is Lauriam who would comfort him when he woke up from a bad dream, who wrapped him in blankets and sang him lullabies, who helped him learn to tie his shoes button his buttons and zip his zippers. Ven still feels lonely because obviously he loves his siblings and they do spend time together but there's quite an age gap (Lauriam is probably 6 years older and Strelitzia is probably 4 years older). So when they get keyblades Ven is among if not the youngest keyblade wielder and when all your peers are preteens/teens/young adults well it's no surprise no one wants an 8 year old Ven to tag along.
This means when Darkness possesses Ven it's like way more purposeful, he lures Strelitzia into the house and she quickly picks up something is wrong. She draws her keyblade demanding Ven be released and Darkness speaks to her through Ven that he's weak and it would be so easy to end him and just to taunt her has him hold his own keyblade ready to slice his throat. Strelitzia is naturally terrified for her baby brother and quickly switches to begging. She can't fight him afraid he'll get hurt and pleads to spare his life. Darkness then asks if she would take his place and Strelitzia agrees. So she willingly lets Darkness kill her to save Ven, he still watched the murder happen but was in a daze so his memories are hazy.
This of course makes the later confrontation like 10x worse Ven feels so so guilty he feels he should've died and has to repent Lauriam is dealing with grief and crushing failure and in a moment of weakness takes it out on Ven. so when Ven goes to trap Darkness within himself Lauriam is far more panicked but is still unable to stop him.
So imagine Lauriam making the jump forward in time. If they get separated he's now lost both his siblings possibly for good and if they travel together then he's powerless to stop xehanort from tearing Ven in two and the last thing he sees is his 12 year old brother left dying on the ground never able to properly make up for his constant failure.
Tumblr media
OUGHHH. GHGHUH
Ventus being their biological little brother..... I am a sucker for that lil idea (thinks about the omori au thing). Also. lol at single parent lauriam. boy experiences the crushing pains of being a single father to two children at the tender age of 9. Any guy can be a babygirl but it takes a real man to be a single mother y'know.
I think that makes the Strelitzia situation worse in both character's perspectives. You are Ventus and you discover that you got you older sister killed. You are Lauriam and you have just been told that your baby brother- the boy you practically raised- was indirectly responsible for the death of your younger sister. What do either of you do in that situation? That's not something you can really come back from.
And all of those horrible things happening to Ven when Lauriam can do nothing about it. Ough.
(I think I'm gonna be tagging this saga as "Windflower Family Fun Times!!!!" because 1. organizational purposes 2. windflower is a cute name for this duo and 3. no one here is having a fun time.)

IDK if this is helpful or welcome, but as someone whose family Works in Blood (less creepy than it sounds) (we are not vampires), how fast blood becomes dried/flakey really just depends on how thick the coating/flow is. A thin trickle of blood will start to dry against the skin in under a minute, a large gash will mean you’re still pretty wet for a while, both due to blood potentially still flowing, and to just the thickness of the layer of blood! Blood doesn’t take very long to clot/congeal but excessive amounts of blood can take upwards of an hour to finally “dry” completely. Let’s hope you can get to a shower first, huh? Feels gross!
It also doesn’t happen all at once, especially with larger quantities of blood. It’ll start drying around the edges first, and where the spread is thinner. It’s entirely possible (and most normal in my experience) to have wet blood and flakes of uncomfortable dried blood on you at the same time/in different places. There’s also a lot of other misc factors like humidity and windflow that can change the speed as well, which gives (in my opinion) writers a good bit of creative freedom in their Artistic Blood Descriptions.
IDK if this helped anon/any curious writers understand the process better but it felt like a fun time to use my experience both handling and, for completely unrelated reasons and more to do with my bad luck, being covered in blood.
hi, I'm sorry if this comes across as too blunt or something, but does blood/ blood magic work differently in The Exile universe? it feels like the characters (especially at the prologue and fiest chapter) taking stock after a bloody incident are always covered in "flakes" of Dried Blood, rather than it being liquid not matter how short a time ago the injury was made. does blood magic take the liquid factor out somehow? does mythosi blood just congeal and dry up super super fast?
... uhh honestly Idk how to answer this without sounding vaguely defensive lmao. If I did overuse flakes/dried blood it wasn't intentional. I was just going off my own interactions with blood and ~*the interweb*~ which said blood can start to congeal and dry anywhere from a few seconds - 15 minutes which seemed to match up with what I thought it to be.
So no, blood magic doesn't take the liquid factor out and no, mythosi blood isn't meant to dry fast.

   MY REVIEW
 5 out of 5
A Perfect Storm is a great mystery. I really enjoyed this cozy mystery following various members of the RCMP stationed out of Newfoundland. Although this is a cozy mystery, it is far from fluffy. There's a wonderful balance between the hard and rough parts and the softer, sweeter side of life. At first I wasn't sure how much I would like the focus changing between characters, but Martin handled it seamlessly, and I was quickly lost in the story. This definitely made me want to read the other mysteries in the series!

  Chapter One
Eddie Tizzard passed his card over the sensor and pushed the door open. He flicked on the light. “Holy jumpins,” he said when he saw what was on the bed in his hotel room— thousands of dollars strewn around like confetti. When he looked closer, he saw something else. There, right in the middle of the bed, was a very red, very large bloodstain.
His first instinct was to run. But his years as an RCMP officer got the best of him, and he had another look around. Soon the source of the blood became obvious. It was a man in a suit lying face down in the bathroom with a visible hole in the back of his head. Tizzard should have trusted his first instinct because when he did decide to leave the room, he walked directly into the path of who he would later find out was the head of hotel security.
He was remembering all of this as he sat in a holding cell with a dozen other men in the Las Vegas jail. Tizzard had gone to Vegas for private detective training, having decided on a new career path after leaving the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, or the Mounties. Technically, he was on leave for the rest of the year, but he doubted he’d ever return to his old job. He’d applied for and received his firearms license, but he wanted a certificate to put on the walls of his new office, that is when he got an office. That seemed very far away right now, about as far as he could get from his home in Newfoundland on the eastern tip of Canada.
He’d watched enough police shows on TV to know that he could make one phone call. But nobody had said when he could do that. The duty officer kind of smirked when he pushed him into the lock-up with his dozen new friends and told him, “Yeah, yeah, coming right up.”
Tizzard was confused but tried to look like he fit in with his fellow cell mates. They, in turn, looked like they were measuring his clothes to see if they might be a fit. As long as they don’t find out that I used to be a cop, I’ll be OK, thought Tizzard as he backed up as far as he could into a corner.
It seemed like he had waited forever, but as several of his new friends came in for a closer look, he heard his name called, “Tizzard, Tizzard.”
“That’s me,” he said and pushed by the two large men who had got the closest.
The duty cop opened the door, and Tizzard walked along the hallway to an interview room. He was pushed inside, and the door clicked shut behind him. It was a small, windowless room with a camera in the ceiling, a mirror on the wall, a single chair on one side of a table, and two on the other. Tizzard knew the drill and took a seat on the one-chair side. Then he waited, again. Feels like home, he thought. Just not my home.
On the other side of the continent Mayor Sheila Hillier was wrapping up her town council meeting and was on her way to meet Moira Stoodley who was babysitting her daughter, Amelia Louise. The meeting had been made unpleasant by a couple of contentious issues, including whether the older buildings in the downtown core of Grand Bank should be modernized or restored to maintain their historic character. But Sheila also realized that most of the tension was really about who would replace her as mayor in the election only a couple of weeks away.
Jacqueline Wilson was Sheila’s preference, but there was another candidate, Phil Bennett, who was leading the anti-tax faction of council. Every meeting, Bennett would try to disrupt things to show how influential he thought he could be, but Sheila would have none of it and would put him back in line. Bennett’s behaviour in itself was more than enough reason for her to want to leave, she thought.
Sheila had decided to go back to school part-time, eventually do an MBA once she had cleared up her scholastic records and completed the course load for an old degree program she had started several years earlier. Politics had never really been her thing, even though she was very good at it. She had only taken the mayor’s job to try to improve the town’s economy. And she had succeeded, mostly. The Town of Grand Bank’s fish plant was now operating on a regular basis with a quota for crab and the sea urchins considered a delicacy in Japan and China. The town also had a recycling factory and a solar panel fabrication plant.
Half of the town’s people wanted to not just preserve the past but to live in it. The other half wanted to blow it all up and start over. They had no use for the old and wanted everything to be modern, like the way it was in St. John’s or even nearby Marystown. It seemed there was no middle ground for the residents of Grand Bank, yet Sheila was sure you could have the best of both worlds. Getting others to agree with her, though, seemed impossible.
Sheila gathered up her things and drove to the Mug-Up, which was known through much of the province to be the best little café there was in Grand Bank. That it was the only café in Grand Bank was usually not mentioned. Sheila had owned the place years ago but gave it up after a horrific car accident left her with a slight limp and no desire to stand all day. Moira and her husband, Herb, had taken it over, and it was there that she found Amelia Louise sitting at a table with her Poppy Herb.
“Mama, mama,” she shrieked as Sheila’s heart melted. “Ook, ook.”
“I think she’s got talent,” said Herb Stoodley.
Sheila examined the crayon scrawls on the paper and murmured her approval. “It’s so nice,” she said. “Is it Lady, your doggie?” she asked, making a leap of faith based on the fact that there was one small circle on top of a large mass of scratches.
Amelia Louise smiled and nodded her head up and down emphatically. She had always been able to somehow say no, but now the 20-month-old toddler was happy to signify yes with a grand gesture.
“Well, thank you,” said Sheila. “And thank you, Herb. And here’s Moira, too. Thank you, Moira, for looking after her.”
“It’s our pleasure,” said Moira, wiping her hands on her apron. “I was just finishing off some baking.”
“Em,” said Amelia Louise. “Ook, ook,”
“I can see,” said Moira. “Has Poppy Herb been nice to you?”
“She’s like our baby, too,” said Herb. “It’s easy to be nice to her. ‘Those that do teach young babes, do it with gentle means and easy tasks.’”
“Okay, my soon-to-be-famous artist, let’s go,” said Sheila as she put on Amelia Louise’s jacket. Once outside again, Sheila noticed the November air had lost any tinge of summer warmth, and the wind was picking up, making it a bit of an adventure to walk the short distance to their house. Sheila tried to carry her daughter, but Amelia Louise was determined to walk on her own, while examining every leaf that blew their way.
When they got home, Molly the cat watched them carefully as they came up the walkway. The dog, Lady, was more directly affectionate and showed how much she had missed them both by almost knocking them over in the hall. The only one missing from the happy family was Sheila’s husband and the father of Amelia Louise, Sergeant Winston Windflower of the RCMP Grand Bank Detachment. He was at work, but Sheila expected to hear from him soon because his stomach would be rumbling any minute now, and he’d want to know what was on for dinner.

For the botanical ask: ALL OF THEM. Bc your answers are always so well thought out and amazing.
That is such a nice thing for you to say! I'm sorry it has taken me forever to answer this, I know you asked this about a month ago. I have been crazy busy and working on this for a while but I never had the time to post it. This is a really long post, so please bear with me. So sorry, baby’s breath (5 things you associate yourself with): snoballs, comfy socks, smiles, humming, and cuddles!bleeding heart (what makes you heart go mushy)?: honestly the thing that melts my heart is super small but okay here we go. what melts my heart is when me and my boyfriend are sitting in his room doing separate things and he randomly gets up and lays on me and rests his head on my chest for a couple minutes and then goes back to doing his work because he wants physical contact. also it melts my heart when he makes me pinky promise to do or not do something or to promise that I’m being truthful. it is so cute.bell flower: what’s the title of the song that makes you want to jump around out of joy?: Maps // The Front Bottoms. it is just such a fun and goofy song.evening primrose: what’s your sleeping playlist (give me 5 songs)?: my sleeping playlist is actually the Piano Sleep Playlist from Spotify. i don’t really check the song titles.forget-me-not: who is your favorite blog who isn’t following you?: my favorite blog who isn’t following me is definitely glumshoe! I love their wide-ranging content!daffodil: what is one plant that you want to have but can never get?: I want a WHOLE lilac bush! I am really bad at keeping plants alive (I accidentally killed so many cacti during KAMS). my roommate and I have four plants currently. two cacti and two succulents. we have them named, and they’re all silly names because we wanted to be as WHITE MOM as possible. they’re names are Ghurt, Ellha, Wrandall, and Hadley. I think it is hilarious for them to have names like that until I have to tell other people what they are named, and then it is kinda embarrassing.calla lily: are you more of a sunny day or a rainy evening? I think I prefer rainy evenings. sunny days are usually wildly hot and I really hate being hot and sweaty. rainy evenings are nice because they can be any temperature and I will still probably be comfy. I don’t like actually being in the rain because I think it feels gross to be only partially wet. I’m an “all or none” type of person when in comes to getting water on my body.foxglove: what is your favorite color and in what shade?: I really like purple a lot, which is convenient because that it what color my sorority uses. the best shade in purple is a tie between lavender and lilac.lavender: what is something that you’ve always wanted to be/have/get but can never have?: I guess I have always wanted to be given jewelry or something to wear from a significant other. Ideally it would be some necklace with their name on it or something that reminds them of me/me of them. Maybe I will get it somedaylove in a mist: what is the latest dream that you remember? the latest dream that I remember was from a while ago but it was about the horror movie IT FOLLOWS which is about a sexually transmitted demon that slowly follows you and is trying to kill you. It can’t run or do anything fast, but it is super persistent and patient and all it does is follow you to get close enough to kill you. anyway it really freaked me out and now I dream about it and always check over my shoulder to make sure that it isn’t there behind me even though I know it isn’t real.daisy: what is your favorite flavor of cotton candy, ice cream, and juice? I don’t have a favorite flavor of cotton candy because I think they all taste the same, but I prefer to have the blue or the purple cotton candy because I think it is prettier than any of the other colors. the best ice cream flavor is definitely cookies & cream. the best juice flavor is white grape juice!!painter’s palette: are you more of a singer, dancer, painter, or instrumentalist? I am more of a singer/painter. I love singing AND painting a lot.tulip: what is your most favorite make-up product? do you like it more natural, dark, or etc? my most favorite makeup product is my eyeliner. I like my eyeliner to be black and sharp as hell. a second close favorite is my wunderbrow, which is a long-lasting brow cream. it is really nice. I like my brows to be pretty dark but not black.waxflower: are you a bee or a butterfly person? a dog or a cat person? dang this is a hard question set. I really like bees because they’re so cute and bumble-y and fuzzy and so so so good for the environment. I even have a whole tattoo planned out for when I have money saved up that is centered around the seven bee families. I am 100% a cat person. cats all the way. fuzzy sweet babies that need as much love and attention as I do. (love for fuzzy things seems to be a theme with me I guess) sugarbush: do you have sweet tooth? if yes, what’s your favorite sweets? if no, why? yeah I do have a sweet tooth. the convenient thing about that is that my sweet tooth only lasts a couple minutes at a time so I don’t have to eat an excessive amount of sweets to satisfy it. my favorite sweet is probably a snoball, since it is the thing that I consume the most regularly that has the sweetest taste and most calories. for those of you who don’t know, a snoball is a basically an ICEE but so much better.sunflower: would you like to be a fairy or a mermaid?: oh heck….mermaid would be fun because I love swimming so much but also there are so many scary things in the deep water…so I would have to pick a fairy because that would probably give me the best of both words minus the scary monsters. at least in the air, I know I only have to hide from the hawks and eagles and shit.sweet pea: what would you like to call your significant other?: honey/love/sweetheart. he gets nervous about pet names though, so we usually just stick to “babe/baby”sea lavender: can you swim? which strokes can you do?: I sure can swim! I can do all the strokes pretty well. except butterfly. I’m kinda terrible at the butterfly.windflower: list 5 of your favorite blogs and explain why you like them: oh boy I don’t know. reverseracism, keybladeofsteel, bassiter, gendrie, and subtle. I just like 'em, and I think I reblog most of my stuff from them. i like to have content that is more than just memes, and they contribute a lot to that.golden rod: are you more of a baker or a cook? cook. I cannot bake to save my life, unfortunately. especially not pastries. I am a pretty decent cook when it comes to microwaves and stovetops and stuff, though. bloom: what is something that you would like to tell your children?: that their bodies belong to them and they never have to let anyone touch them if they don’t want to be touched. bodily autonomy is something I wish I could’ve known I was allowed to have. I was always taught that I have to let people hug and touch me even if I don’t want it because if I tell them not to touch me then it might get awkward, and apparently avoiding awkwardness is more important than my own comfort.peony: what is something that you wish your parents could’ve told you? that I was pretty. I know it isn’t something that matters in the grand scheme of things, but they told my sisters that they were beautiful and I never got to hear it.prairie gentian: do you have a significant other? yes : ) we have been dating for about 8 months. and I love him.september flower: are you more of a sunshine or sunset person?: sunset! sunsets are so beautiful and I prefer the nighttime to the day anyway. im more active and awake later in the day.bird of paradise: do you wake up early? do you sleep early?: unfortunately I wake up at 7:30am every day for work. I hate it so much, I am so fricken tired. I go to sleep at probably between 1am and 3am when I sleep in my dorm with my roommate but when I sleep over at my boyfriend’s house I go to sleep before midnight because he gets sleepy and I don’t want to keep him up. it is really helpful for making me feel more rested so I really like it.marigold: what’s your favorite tea?: I don’t really drink tea on its own, but I really like the Mango Black Tea Lemonade from starbucks. I got that all the time when they had it during the summer. its pretty tasty.peruvian lily: what are the names of your pets?: I have two cats named Josie and Jewels and a crowntail betta named Mahoney. me and my roommate share another crowntail betta named Nemo (because his tail fin is fucked up. I think it was almost completely ripped off or he chewed it off out of stress, but we aren’t sure. we had to rescue him from Walmart because he was floating on the bottom of his dinky little cup and he barely had any energy. thankfully, he started eating almost immediately when we brought him home and he’s swimming around a lot better.). my roommate has her own betta named Bartholomew, and we are also trying to adopt a fourth betta, as well. so we will have Bart, Mahoney, Nemo, and whatever the fourth fish is named. we are trying to adopt the fourth betta from a woman who doesn’t treat the betta very well and wants to get rid of it anyway.hyacinth: do you name your plants?: yup. the older cactus is Ghurt, the younger is Ellha. The older succulent is Hadley and the younger one is Wrandall. lmao. me and my roommate intentionally picked goofy names for them because it makes us laugh and happy.lilac: would you rather sleep and be cozy or hang out with your friends?: hang out with my friends, definitely. my friends are great and I love spending time with them. unless I am getting to be cozy with my boyfriend, in which case I would pick him alwayspoppy: do you like to dip your fries or do you like it as is?: DIP DIP DIP ALWAYS DIP. French fries are so dry on their own. I will dip them in literally anything; ranch dressing, ketchup, mayonnaise, garlic butter, barbeque sauce, etc... my favorite is probably ranch dressing at the moment. it alternates depending on how many times I’ve eaten fries during a specific period of time.dandelion: any special talent that you have?: uhhhhhh no probably not. I don’t really have anything that I am talented at.
