if i estimated correctly, i have over 350 posts with at least one drawing each on this tumblr account. which gave me a heart attack tbh, that's so many haha. there's some more my art floating around the internet elsewhere like on the terrebus account.

the main one currently is supernatural, before that it was the terror and before that it was football (the soccer kind) rpf. but i still do all of 'em! there are some others i play with like sherlock holmes, fdtd or mtw.

What is a piece of art you drew with the angstiest ending?

hard to define 'ending' in the context of art - it supposes a sort of narrative structure not every of my drawings has. maybe this one. because, in the words of the rolling stones, you can't always get what you want.

What's the piece of art you drew with the happiest ending?

i guess this defines happy ending but i also had to think of this one, just because i can hallucinate the story that it took for them to get to that cocktail sippin' ending.

Do you get hate on art?

yes, sometimes lol i've had people fighting wars in my twitter replies when i posted cas/jack art. wah wah wah he's his dad. wah wah wah they're brothers. wah wah wah kill yourself. ridiculous and irrelevant. i do still think fondly of some replies i get though, like the one that was in russian and said 'such a talent and only for the sake of lust... sad.'

Do you draw smut?

yeah, but it's one of the things i want to get better at.

not really. i want to draw an spn/fdtd crossover but that's not super crazy

yes, having one person do the lineart and one do the colouring. it's a fun exercise to make you consciously realise your own art processes

What's your all-time favorite ship?

wincest is up there, of course. holmes/watson is simply a staple. humboldt/bonpland because mtw shaped me in my adolescence. i don't like to define THEEE favourite though because there's different ships for different flavours and that's great.

What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

does it count as a wip if i haven't even started creating it lmao! if yes - a longer story s4 sam/dean dean/cas piece set to dessa's 551. if that sounds insane, it's because it is.

What are your drawing strengths?

i think depicting connection between two characters and portraying a sense of want/love/doubt even through a distance between them.

What are your drawing weaknesses?

stiff poses and inability to draw without reference. also backgrounds and feet :(

hi, happy wincest wednesday! what's the vibe that drew you to sam&dean?

me answering this ask four months (and two days) late? more likely than you think. wincest wednesday more like wincest everyday (lame joke sorry okay I'll carry on)

my answer is rooted in plain old horniness so I'll put that under the cut:

tbh I was hooked from 'easy, tiger', but what really caught my attention was the airplane scene in 1.04, where Dean hyperventilates and Sam just - orders him to calm down. and then calls him good when Dean does. just like me fr

but seriously I just found their push-pull power dynamic (at least in early seasons - I'm still only on s4) a) compelling and b) horny. honest to god that is why I started watching the show in earnest instead of keeping it as background noise!

without that dynamic, or indeed incest subtext in general (which I think is pretty blatant and requires rose-colored ray-bans to ignore) Supernatural would just be not-as-smart Buffy for straight white Texan men. thankfully it does feature those themes and brotherdomming to boot and thus it became a timeless cw staple upon which fandom's imagination has thrived, and for which we are all grateful (again I mean this sincerely, because omegaverse* has been one of my top fic genres since middle school)

*this is an aside, but back when I tried reading destiel (with only the knowledge that it had gone tenuously canon near the series finale and whatever insights I gleaned from heller gifsets) I was just completely unable to envision either of them topping. this changed when I witnessed Jomega Jackles in action and now I am completely unable to see top!dean unless it's a) weecest or b) deanna

i want you to fucking ban me. this is me trying to get banned. you don’t like creators who spread hate? i fucking hate wincest. i fucking hate hate hate hate hate hate hate wincest. not enough? i hate rpf. i think it’s fucking weird.

twice, i was promised this. (i dmed the twitter account before i saw that i had a response on my ao3 comment, which is the above screenshot).

and that was on 'dear brother’, a fic that i am pouring my fucking heart into by updating almost DAILY about two brothers. and you made sure it was going directly to people who have clicked a box that says “yes, i want wincest fic directly in my inbox”.

but i thought it was all over.

then, for my 20th birthday, june 4th, i write a little  fic of dean sitting in a motel room. that’s the whole fic. literally nothing happens for 1,400 words. he just sits there. and it’s deeply personal and i wrote down that it was personal:

and i didn’t see this comment until 1am my time on the night of the 6th, because sometimes i do have a life, particularly on the weekend of my  birthday, and i got a little angrier.

honestly, to answer the prev ask, i think that the reason jensen is/was more aggressive towards destiel is because he probably looks at wincest as a joke. its the goofy weird thing that people just like because sam and dean are hot. kind of similar to when a kid gives you a ‘drawing’ but its just a bunch of scribbles and you have no idea what it is, so to make them feel better you’re kinda like ‘ooooohh yes sure i can see exactly how that is a dragon fighting a unicorn.’ its more of a ‘yeah sure whatever you say’ attitude.

whereas, with destiel, its more popular, and people are more vocal & serious about it. its become such a staple for the fandom and some people genuinely watch supernatural, or start watching supernatural FOR destiel or BECAUSE of destiel. (obviously when you include the ENTIRE audience, its not a lot of people. im strictly talking about the people who use fandom spaces! the more dedicated fans if you will.) not only that but the people who ship it are willing to call out the show for queerbaiting and problematic stuff and, since he’s an actor on said queerbaiting and problematic show, he probably gets defensive about it. destiel is written into the script like That, so it’s probably just a reaction to actually being called out on it. sorry if this makes no sense, there’s more to say and better ways to explain it but its way too early in the morning for me 😭

And yeah, I think that Jensen got defensive because Destiel could happen, while W*ncest was just not a thing that could ever happen, they're bothers so whenever that was brought up, it wasn't a serious topic. However, Destiel was serious and there were big chances of it happening. It has been there, whether explicitly or not, that's debatable

Ok, so I got onto Tumblr when I was like 10 or 11 years old and I can’t remember my first one, but probably either Supernatural, Sherlock, or Criminal Minds.  8. How did you get involved in your latest fandom? My most current fandom has been Hannibal and I got involved when they f i n a l l y put it on Netflix.  14. Go on, who are your BroTPs? 21. What was the first fanfic you ever wrote? I wrote a 300ish page long Narnia fic in elemeentary/middle school about one of the previous rulers of Narnia. It was pretty good but I can’t find it anymore unfortunately.  23. Name a fic you’ve written that you’re especially fond of & explain why you like it. Already answered in the previous ask!  29. Do you have a beta reader? Why/Why not? No, because I’m a little bitch baby. I get too nervous to show other people my work and I think that’s why sometimes my fics aren’t as good, because of the lack of editing. 39. What is you greatest strength as a writer? I have no clue because I always think that things need improvement.

40. What do you struggle the most with in your writing? I struggle a lot which establishing different character dialogue and vernacular. It’s why I don’t like to post my fics very much. I’m sorry 4 confusing you, I was going through posts and blogs and came across yours and dropped in my question since u seemed cool & approachable. Sorry, yes, that was more of a rhetorical question. Phew! I'm so glad to hear there wasn't a disconnect and that I was somehow being viewed as anti Cas or anti Misha because I'm definitely not any of those things.

And you're very welcome. It's kind of my thing on this blog. People come up to me and ask me my opinions about things and I give them a sincere and honest but also very polite response. And I also try to be kind too. I've had bad experiences particularly in the SPN fandom where people kind of trash talk or try to police opinions and commentary so I like to think of this blog as a safe place where if you have an opinion and you talk to me about it, you won't be looked down upon for it and I'm a very open-minded person too. We respect opinions and are open for respectful debate in this house.

And I'm glad you thought I was approachable. And honestly, it's always kind of weird to me how people find my blog. It's like I'm such a small fish in this huge fandom community. How do y'all find me in this mess that is the SPN fandom?

Yeah, it sounds like you were visiting some tin hats. Although I wish I could say getting a "fuck you" was just a staple of tin hats in this community, but I've seen it from several different factions of the community. It's funny, sometimes people post their hateful opinions but yet when they're called out to defend those opinions, suddenly it's like a personal attack against them.

I wish you the best of luck in your travels through the SPN community. Wincest used to be a pinnacle staple ship in fandom, too. Purity culture has slowly seeped in and invaded, though. It’s like mould.

I didn’t mention these because either I think they’re popular enough or I don’t like them. Let’s see. I watched the show live, with tumblr fandom, since 8x01. So, my opinion of all these arcs is tinted by our expectations at the time and how they matched up with the show. The problem with Supernatural is, that the show never lives up to fandom speculations, never surprises me in a good way. I love good story. I can enjoy a good, clever story even if Cas is not there. Unfortunately, the show never delivers on its potential. 

Purgatory. The idea was marvelous - Dean and Cas alone in purgatory, so much potential for talks, adventures. What if they meet some old adversaries there? Gordon, Emma? The reality - obligatory chaperone and new best friend Benny spent more alone time with Dean than Cas. I think, that was our clue, our hint, that the show will never deliver proper deancas, only tease it. They were pretty honest about it, promoting Benny more than Cas at SDCC. But we didn’t see it at the time. I think Purgatory arc is popular in fandom for it’s aesthetics and very sexy Dean. I know that the other half of fandom has successfully bleached out “”Where’s the angel?” lines out of their brains and they think that Dean spent all time there eager to get back to Sammy. So, they also like it. In conclusion - purgatory arc was too short. Another example of how the show created something they didn’t expect fans to like so much. 

Human Cas. First of all, a supernatural being losing their powers and adapting to human life is a staple of genre TV. When you see this trope, you have expectations - jokes and philosophical musings about human nature, insights in what makes us human. Parallels with people having hard time to adapt in other cultures or coming back from war. It’s a treasure trove of genre TV. Some TV shows are based only on this trope. Third rock from the Sun. Spike in season 4 of Buffy, etc, etc. Add to this the fact that for years TPTB told us that the only reason why Cas is not around more, is because  he’s too powerful. In season 9 Cas was human and bros had bunker. My and fandom expectations were very high for human Cas arc. But when you are SPN, all you get is urination jokes and most of human Cas happening off screen. I was so pissed of about urination gag because it excludes women - Cas is experiencing this huge paradigm shift and it is male body coded. Cas centric 9x03 is an atrocity and the only episode I tag with ”for ts”. With years, my opinion is changing about 9x06 as well. I love Steve!Cas if only for his blue vest, but the episode was another successful con by Carver. Let’s just say that framing the episode around ”jilted lover” note was a very clever way to misdirect fans from the fact that 9x06 didn’t tell us anything about how Cas survived after 9x03 or if even Dean gave him a bit of money&ID cards before kicking Cas out. This was another clue that the show is not interested in telling Cas’ story for Cas sake or developing proper, sub textual deancas story where Dean actually cares about Cas. In conclusion - I was interested in human Cas story at the time, but, after seeing how the show executed it, I’m against it. 

Mark of Cain. I actually don’t have much opinion about this. It was too long, to convoluted, too many threads. We got very short demon!Dean arc, we got Sam doing very bad things that were never mentioned again, we got what the heck they’re trying to do with Cole arc, we got Cain and Colette parallels that went nowhere, we got Cas and Crowley parallel nobody was asking for, we got Dean beating the shit out of Cas that was resolved by Cas beating the shit out of Dean. We got random drunk hunter Rudy getting spot next to Cas in Dean’s mirror of regrets. We got Dean killing Death and that changed nothing in the show universe. A whole season and half and it ended with the worst season finale IMO, 10x23. That’s when destiel meta community fell apart and we lost some really good meta writers. Hiatus after season 10 is when ”anything goes, let’s just have fun fun” approach to meta started. So you could definitely say that Mark of Cain left its mark on destiel meta community and we are still living in its shadow. 

The way I see SPN the show now is something like a random collection of lovely things, precious stones, marbles = great actors, lovely character scenes, some great cinematography. They’re catchy, precious. Then fandom comes in and weaves a tapestry and incorporates all these trinkets. Fandom makes story, connects the dots, fills in the gaps. The problem with SPN is that fans have to spend way more effort to make a coherent picture than the fans of some other shows. SPN elements are so self contained, that you can make a destiel tapestry while other fans make their wincest tapestry from the same bin of  trinkets! It’s just a matter of picking and choosing right trinkets and ignoring the ones that doesn't fit.
