This me, the WillowWalker in case any of you were curious about me. This was taken about 15 years ago and it was an especially sweet day and difficult day. I was retiring my beauty. Captain Black a 17 H Tennesse Walking Horse floated like a cloud. We would ride approx 100 miles a week. 25 miles in 2.5 hours in the foot hills of Southern Ohio. Captain loved to go on his jaunt it was like sitting on pur energy for about the first hour waiting to explode. He had a deep beautiful neigh and knickers and all the mares and fillies called to him when he strode off the trail back into camp. We rode year round with the crew of dogs and played in the woods, ran wild with the sprites, tree nymphs, water sprites. Captian usually liked to wear a camaflodege headress of a crown of oak leaves. They kept the insects from biting ears. Those days were special. You never knew what or how the trail differed form the weather. Some days It was stake two steps and slide down a hill smile long and other days it was like stepping into a stainglass kaladesscope, filled with color, birds butter flies and confetti of leaves falling in lazy circles, of all colors landing on the hills. Winter was even my favorite because he was so warm and wrapping my legs around him he radiated heat and walking in deep muffled snow while it's falling in big clumps landing with a sploosh in your eyelashes was just tremendously incredible. All the sounds of the world muffled and all the red cardinals placed like some one had decorated the white pines in red birds will burn vividly in my memory for as long as I live. We always camped with the velvet lipped knickerheads and we were bonded as one. His feet my feet, his turn my body all in sink so it felt as if we were one being. I don't believe Captain viewed me as human either from the way he groomed my hair with his muzzle. He crossed the over The Rainbow Bridge on his 48th birthday about 5 years ago my friends farm where he retired was such a haven of organic feed and lots of tlc. I hope I meet him again I was truly lucky to have had the honor of kinship with this soul. Beautiful, strong, magnificent soul. The honorees truly all mine. Below are some of are haunting grounds. I use to put on my headphones too and ride to classical music. One thing about mounting such a tall horse when riding trail I always carried a stick. Because as you are trotting and catering quickly you can not see all of the spider webs in the trees and you will eat thousands in one ride. Lol. “Ah.. let’s see..” Nyura chuckled a bit, tilting her head at the question.

“Well, there’s my mother - a druid. Her name was Sandri Willowwalker. She was one of the ‘balance’ type druids. Though she liked her feral form a lot. Now that I think about it, she was probably some cross between the two? I don’t know much about how druids work... ha..” Nyura tapped her chin thoughtfully, “My father was a Shadow-walker, just as I am. Though he was easily more powerful than me, before I got the new body at least. I don’t know how we’d compare now. His name was Ildrian Shadowstep.”

She exhaled a sigh, “I had a half-sister whom was killed around the time of the Lich King. She was a void-blade. Kinda’ like a spell-blade, but void. Atali Shadowstep was her name.” 

Nyura shrugged, nodding after a moment. “Yea. That’s it really. There’d be more if my mother’s family hadn’t disowned me after my parents died about four years ago.”
