Today I'm Gonna Play: Virago Herstory2

This is another game I've been seeing on my feeds, and it seems to showcase a societal topic, and it's also free, so I checked it out right away.

**TW: Game contains depictions of stalking, sexual harassment, abuse, and pedophilia. I will be as vague as possible to describe these segments. As for images, I will not include ones that depict anything triggering.**

The game is a narrative-based platformer for smartphones, where you play as a little girl named Willow. You can only move in 2 directions and occasionally jump. There would be specific buttons for specific levels depending on the prompt, such as hugging or using a torchlight. Controls are very simplistic for any age or demographic as it's mostly story-reliant.

Visually, the game reminds me a little of Limbo. It gives an eerie feel to it which really fits the overall atmosphere and theme the game is going for.

In terms of story, the subject matters are depicted in a very simple way due to the game being a platformer. You encounter situations that most people, usually women or girls go through their entire lives that even a simple chase sequence felt extremely tense to go through. I think games like this are a good example of how treating societal issues don't necessarily have to be extremely complex in order to be effective, as sometimes the message may not come across as intended, or just feel too on the nose. I can't think of any poor examples at the top of my head at the moment, but this could also apply to other pieces of media. However, keeping it too simple can also be seen as not taking the subject seriously.

The only drawback I can say is that the controls often feel unresponsive and clunky. This is frustrating for a platformer, especially with a touchscreen that requires quick inputs. I don't know if me feeling fear in the game was partially due to this or not, but it was a little frustrating.

Overall, this is a neat game that does decently on what it wants to convey. I've seen many people online share their experiences as well on going through the same thing as what the game does, and in some cases raise awareness too. I've heard the developer is working on more games related to this project and I hope they can develop this further while also adding in some polish.

Vampire Academy Fancast part 1

Hi, guys!! I have decided to do Vampire Academy fan cast. But I am starting with just the women. Both based on the chracter description (from Wikia), but also based on who I think would make great possibilities to play these characters. Some actors may not look exactly like they are described. But that’s okay-- because hair dye and color contacts exist!!

Also, I may have 1 or more choice actresses for some of them. I also kinda gave up on using images because some of them were too large to use on here. Let’s begin.
