ellen inmaims for the character asks ...
Thank you for the ask <33
Sexuality Headcanon: Bisexual, not because I have a reason but because I headcanon most characters I like as bisexual (projection /hj)
Gender Headcanon: Cis gal
A ship I have with said character: None, everyone is so mean to her 😕
A BROTP I have with said character: Again, they’re all mean to her
A NOTP I have with said character: Everyone. Specifically AM because I saw someone ship them once
A random headcanon: I don’t think I have many 🤨 mainly because I have a bad memory of things I think or say
General Opinion over said character: I like her! Very sad but it’s probably realistic of what being the last woman alive would be like :/

October 9th 1562, death of Catholic priest, Italian anatomist, namesake of the Fallopian tubes, and pioneer of condom use to prohibit sexually transmitted diseases, Gabriel Fallopius; one of the most important figures in medicine and anatomy in the sixteenth century, despite his death on this day aged only 39. Fallopius inherited and continued the anatomical work begun in Padua, Italy by his predecessor Vesalius, the pioneer of modern anatomical study, and author of ‘De humani corporis fabrica’ (On the Fabric of the Human Body), published in 1543. Vesalius it was noted last week died on the 2nd of October 1564, by the effects of a shipwreck, on his way to the Holy Land in mysterious circumstances, accused by his detractors of performing an autopsy on a living person, and fleeing from the Inquisition. As a young man Vesalius had been taught by Dutch physician, mathematician, cartographer, philosopher, and instrument maker Gemma Frisius, who also taught the Welsh astronomer, astrologer and occult philosopher John Dee. As head of anatomy at the University of Padua, Fallopius taught Hieronymus Fabricius, known as the "The Father of Embryology”. In 1594, Fabricius designed the first theatre for public anatomical dissections, and also designed an orthopedic exoskeleton he called the ‘Oplomoclion’. Fabricius would himself teach the English physician William Harvey, the first known physician to completely map systemic circulation, and describe in detail the properties of blood pumped to the brain and the rest of the body by the heart. Theories he would publish in 1628 as ‘De Motu Cordis’. Harvey also from 1618 was 'Physician Extraordinary' to King James I. In keeping with the monarch’s paranoia (Continued in the comments). #darkillustration #darkillustrations #witchcrafthistory #witchhistory #16thcentury #17thcentury #17thcenturyart #historyofscience #superstitions #folklore #strangehistory #historyofphilosophy #williamharvey #witchtrials #jamesi #witchfindergeneral #pendlewitches #folklore #witchartist #morbidhistory #anatomical #anatomicalart #historyofanatomy #scientificrevolution #fallopian #sciencehistory #anatomy #anatomytheatre #physician #sciences https://www.instagram.com/p/CUxhYvllQed/?utm_medium=tumblr

“Favourite animated movie?” Hard to tell. I can’t remember and I also don’t watch many animated movies
“What colour is your bedroom?” My walls are blue and my ceiling is white. My furniture is all white
“Would you rather be too hot or too cold?” Too cold because then I can just bundle up
“What’s your favourite season?” Probably fall. I would say spring, but I have really bad allergies

15th June 1667, the first recorded human blood transfusion was performed by French physician, Dr. Jean-Baptiste Denys, the personal physician to King Louis XIV. Thirty nine years previously, William Harvey had published his treatise ‘De Motu Cordis’, on the circulation of the blood, and function of the heart, finally proving the correct function of the heart, and how the blood circulated around the body. A further breakthrough had occurred in 1659, with the invention of the syringe by Christopher Wren, better known for his designs of the rebuilding of London, and St. Paul's Cathedral after the Great Fire of 1666. With these two breakthroughs, Dr. Jean-Baptiste Denys was able to conduct the first blood transfusion of this day. The transfusion was conducted with a small amount of blood from a sheep to a fifteen year old boy, who had had blood taken from him by leeches, for twenty times prior to the transfusion. The boy survived the procedure, which led Denys to a second attempt with a labourer who also survived. In November of the same year, English physicians Richard Lower, who performed research with Robert Hooke, and Edmund King, also successfully transfused sheep's blood into a mentally ill man, believing that it would cure him of madness, by replacing new blood for old. Hooke had also collaborated with Christopher Wren, in various scientific and architectural endeavors. In the winter of this same year, encouraged by his success, Denys performed further transfusions of calf's blood to Antoine Mauroy, who was also considered mentally ill. The procedure after the third attempt killed Mauroy, at which point Denys was charged with murder, (Continued in the comments). #gothictales #bloodtransfusion #historyofscience #historyofmedicine #medicalhistory #medicalmemes #williamharvey #bloodymess #christoperwren #roberthooke #historystory #darkhistory #darkhistorymemes #strangehistory #thursdaytales #17thcentury #scientificrevolution #syringes #sciencehistory #anatomyillustration #anatomyartwork #historicalillustration #17thcenturystyle #steampunkillustration #historicalmemes #macabreart #macabre #macabreartist #strangehistory https://www.instagram.com/p/CQOjLpunfX2/?utm_medium=tumblr

HIIII i love having the niche history mutuals on tumblr dot com because um. quiz coming up tomorrow on the scientific revolution - if you (tumblr user ted williamharvey) had to tell me why william harvey (guy) was significant - beyond “he discovered the circulatory system” what would you say……. this is so silly you don’t have to answer i just. the opportunity to connect is there <3
!! ok so he:
introduced experimental medicine & helped create the field of physiology
led to the idea that illnesses could be caused by things going on within the circulatory system such as blood pressure and artery obstruction
also allowed for things like richard lower's work on blood transfusion
and of course his findings caused more advancements in the circulation theory (bc yknow he wasn't entirely right). for example rené descartes' thoughts on the circulatory system were directly built off of his
