2019 Writer’s Year in Review
Tagged by @chyrstis! Thank you so much. I’ve seen a few of these, and thought about doing one. Of course, I’m also not wanting to because I haven’t really tracked anything, or done much writing.
Word count:
32607 (according to AO3)
Like I said, I did not do any tracking this year. Though I did write some things that were not published. So, it might be a smidge higher.
Number of smut scenes:
Three that were posted. I don’t know if there are any others that might have wandered around out there, or in my WIPs.
This was a very weird year for me.
New things I tried this year:
While like @chyrstis, I’m not sure this counts, it’s about all I really tried that was new: I wandered into a new fandom after falling in love with Far Cry 5, though I don’t do it justice. My focus is not currently what it has been in the past. I’d really like to write more, and I’d really like to branch into other ships in that fandom, but I cannot work it around in my head.
Favorite thing I wrote this year:
I think my favorite thing I’ve written this year is Interrupted Interlude. I really had fun writing it, and feel like I did @alyssalenko‘s manips justice ... all three of them.
Favorite fic I read this year:
I wish I mentioned more fics, maybe that’s something I could focus on too this year.
I’ve loved @no-droids Mandalorian series. Rough Day is the first. It’s a great series of absolutely wonderful smut.
There was also Give Up the Chase by amcam. A wonderfully written smutty piece that I stumbled across while reading through some new tags.
But I honestly haven’t read a lot of fics. I’m horrible about that. Though I do try to always remember to leave comments or kudos.
Writing goals for 2020:
First and foremost, I’ve set a goal to write 100 words per day (would it be horrible to claim this post as my words for today?).
Second, I want to finish Unshakable Duty. I recently started a replay of Dragon Age 2 and am seeing some holes that appear in the story I’ve laid out.
Also, I want to start writing some of the original fiction ideas that I’ve been hanging onto for years and years.
There are other things I would love to try for. Some of these include: participating in Nanowrimo in November, doing the Camp Nano, maybe signing up for the Mass Effect Big Bang this spring, finishing First Watch of the Night and/or Solitude: Before I See, maybe looking into publishing some of my original fiction, and being consistent in my revision and my writing. I think I might also bring back my monthly progress and reflection posts.
Tagging: @joufancyhuh, @alyssalenko, @ma-sulevin, and @inuy21 and anyone else that might be interested!
