Isn't it cute!! This little guy is a Little Red Flying Fox (Pteropus scapulatus). Little red flying foxes vary in colour from reddish brown to light brown, and there are patches of light, creamy, brown fur where the wing membrane and shoulder meet. They live in a broad range of habitats that include semi-arid areas to tropical and temperate eucalypt forests, paperbark swamps and monsoon forests. This was posted in our duckie carer’s group and sums up my last few weeks perfectly!! 😆 I do have to say though, that raising my first batch of ducklings was one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done and I have a second batch who are growing at lightening speed and I can’t wait to release them too, in another 6 weeks or so!
