biography (tw: death)
the settlement he called home in the wildlands, in elhead forest, kept their distance from most of the others. a community of recluses; of loners; of hypocrites. he had always been curios about the other species, and humans, but his settlement had a more self-sustaining mentality that unfortunately poisoned his mind; to this day, he still finds it hard to trust others, or to ask them for help.
while he loved his life in the wildlands, fending for himself and taking care of himself by any means necessary, the portals in elhead forest kept calling to him. they were like seductive sirens with songs that haunted him in his sleep. he tried to ignore it, he tried to keep his distance, he tried to act like they weren't even there-- but in the end his curiosity got the best of him and he found himself stumbling blindly into the world of humans.
it was not an easy transition; calling it awkward is just being polite. humans were loud, messy, violent, selfish, beasts that took what they wanted simply because they saw it first. in his eyes they were brutish and, for lack of a better word, horrible. until he met him. christopher parsons. he was the exact opposite of every human alton had met up until that point. he didn't hesitate to show alton kindness; to take him in and give him a place to sleep, and live, so he could have a stable roof over his head. he even brought alton to his shop and taught him how to work on cars, and machines, so he could learn a trade and have something to fall back on if he ever needed money.
they spent years together. alton trusted him so much that he revealed his true nature to him, he even took christopher through one of the portals so he could show him the wildlands where he grew up. with christopher, alton finally understood why other settlements and other fairfolk were so fascinated with humans-- but it was too good to be true. unfortunately christopher was sick and there was nothing they could do to change that. alton was gifted with natural magic and spellwork that called upon nature, but one thing he never managed to learn-- or maybe it was just something he was never meant to be capable of-- was healing magic and spells. he tried everything he could think of to save his human friend but, in the end, the sickness one.
in burying christopher, alton realized all too late that he cared for the man far more than simple friendship. he loved him and now he'd lost him.
wandering around for years, flitting back and forth between this world and the fae realm, he struggled staying in either place for too long; he struggled making a home for himself again. he no longer felt like he belonged. without christopher, the human world felt foreign again and empty but whenever he went back to the fae realm all he did was miss humanity; he would never admit it but he missed the noise; the mess; the people.
eventually he found himself heading to new haven. he heard, in passing, that it was a sanctuary of sorts and, well, what else did he have to lose?

Ghost recon future soldier costume
Note that the custom ACR is considered an exotic weapon, which means its parts cannot be modified. The Future Soldier Pack in Ghost Recon: Wildlands contains three exclusive in-game items: a Future Soldier outfit, a gear patch, and an ACR assault rifle with a custom Future Soldier paint pattern. Players who previously owned Ghost Recon Future Soldier can unlock the Future Soldier DLC Pack in Ghost Recon: Wildlands, completely for free. If these things all add up to what you normally enjoy in games, then Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is a great buy.If you’re a fan of Ghost Recon games and have played some of the recent titles in the series, you can snag yourself some free loot in Ghost Recon: Wildlands. The competitive multiplayer won't do much for the title's value, but the cooperative play can be really, really fun. Bro-love, shoot-shoot, kill-kill and a false sense of emotion all come out in spades during this title's playthrough. However, it's still a war game with a standard set of typical pieces. Yes, the gadgets and setting make this game a standout in the cover-based shooter genre. Whether or not you should pick up Ghost Recon: Future Soldier hinges entirely on one thing: are you tired of military shooters? Each time, I had to reload the checkpoint and try again. The prone NPC never made it to the circle and I was never able to proceed. The game frequently requires players to stand in visible circles before the next segment begins. I need him in order to proceed to the next area. He just crawled into the same wall forever. One character in particular went prone and never stood up. The NPC characters take the same route the players do. While navigating through a building with rubble, players are asked to go prone from time to time in order to duck below fallen walls. One time in particular was quite frustrating. It happened to me several times during my playthrough of this title. Know what stinks? When you're playing a game and you have to reload to an old checkpoint because one of the NPC characters glitches out. Playing together in this title feels great, and I highly recommend the experience to those with a friends list full of capable players. The title goes from being one man's high-powered romp through platoons of bad dudes into four friends taking on the world. Take all of that planning and gadgetry that was so enjoyable in solo stints from the single player campaign and add up to three of your friends to the mix. The cooperative play, however, is really fun. The competitive play is just so-so, and it stands as little more than a distraction from the overall game. You can either engage in the standard fare of competitive levels, or you can take on the campaign in cooperative style. There are two types of multiplayer in this offering from Ubisoft. Planning and tech use still happened, but doing so didn't give me as much of a rush as it did before. I personally found those levels to be a lot less interesting. Without giving too much away, the battlefield is leveled out quite a bit as the game reaches its conclusion. It's a great feeling.Īs the story advances, however, the all-powerful feeling fades. Sure, the AI can be really stupid here, but your NPC helpers seem to know what you want to do and work to facilitate that as much as possible. Between marking targets with your UAV, silently taking down the loners and knowing when to engage in an all out firefight, every skirmish feels like an interesting chess match. That's what I mean when I reference Batman here the Ghost Recon team feels all powerful.Īll of the power and tech comes to fruition when you pace yourself and slowly plan the way you'll own each encounter. All the sensors, HUD changes, weaponry and combat aids feel like futuristic toys. The bread and butter of this game, if it isn't obvious enough by the assets produced by Ubisoft, is the future tech. Heck, there are even a few solid twists along the way. It feels entirely rehashed, but it works on almost every level. When you're not being pulled out of the story by lame one-liners, the adventure in Ghost Recon: Future Soldier can be engaging. At times, the scenes can be great slices of life for the small special forces crew. The cutscenes, however, are an interesting breed. The map banter is never engaging, but it often stands simply as a way to tell story in between levels.

Just a pawn - The Dark Alchemist Writer
Vuskall Roguebone has never been confident in himself. He has never trusted his mind. He always felt like everything he did was because everybody else was doing it. Maybe he wasn’t alone, maybe every young adult Vixinate in the Republic felt the same, but they were just very good at hiding it. ‘Do I have any other option?’ he has always thought, while trying to suppress that ‘what if’ scenario that was always creeping through his mind. After all, the military service trials were obligatory, and it was either that or absolute banishment from the community. He sighed. He has heard what beings from other societies, or even from other Kingdoms, think about that strict and stupid rule of ‘serve or perish’. He could never truly comment it with anybody, because that would be followed by suspicious looks or even being accused of treason to the Republic. That made him feel trapped, even for a loner like him. He wasn’t the most social person, and he was pretty pessimist about life, but certainly he had some feelings, emotions, and dreams inside him. Or that’s what he thought. He looked up in front of him. Noise. He heard the movement of a running river and decided to walk towards it. While all this was happening, he started to remember the voices of his fellow companions. They were the fox he grew up with. They were the ones that were supposed to understand him better than anyone. One of their voices sounded very clear in his mind: the voice of his friend Voneo Shadowblade. He once mentioned that foreigners think that these practices are outdated and cruel, aloud, as a side comment. And then Vuskall never heard from him again. It would not have been wise to risk having his same fate. He put his white hood on and kept on walking through the wildlands. ‘Wildlands’ was the name the Vixinate gave to any place that was out of their jurisdiction. They could all be described with the same repetitive pattern: dark and dirt marshes, wet and hot forests, an occasional river, and giant insects. No signs of civilization. He found the river. He stopped and knelt to wash his face. His eyes and muzzle were already very dirty and sweaty. It was disgusting. He also took his leather cloak to wash it as well, to avoid feeling so incredibly uncomfortable as he was at that moment. The typical uniform the Vixinate military proudly made use of consisted on a white hooded long cloak of common cotton, a leather cloak over it, three sets of leather belts, brown riding boots, and simple loose shirts and trousers (usually grey or black) to have underneath. They couldn’t have much over them, as it reduced their mobility. Also, the whole attire was made to hide daggers everywhere, even inside their boots. Their red tails were usually covered behind the cloaks, to avoid being recognized easily by their enemies. Vuskall never truly understood why their community felt so proud about that uniform. It was well done, and aesthetically pleasant, he didn’t doubt that. The seamstresses of the community certainly showed great skill while making it. The only aspect about it that always bothered him was that he was never fulfilled by the idea of wearing this uniform, like his leaders tell him he should do. Doing something with it on gave him no joy. This was no more than doing any other compulsory errand. He didn’t doubt about his physical capabilities, he thought he was strong enough. He looked at his paws, covered by orange fur and a few scars. There was really no point in this. But he couldn’t look away. Not now. This one was only one of his first tasks. They usually start being very easy, and then they start getting more complex, rougher and even more disturbing. One of the missions that he had to accomplish in the past, he remembered, consisted in a one versus one combat back at the community with his fellow acquaintances. It wasn’t that bad, but it wasn’t that good either. They were trying to teach him that no feelings should be developed between the fox of the military. No signs of comradery, no signs of friendship. Only those who were able to adapt themselves to the heartless side of life were the ones that could serve the Republic. You could not run to help a friend, nor someone you considered that was about to die, even if it was unfair to you. They had weapons; they should be able to defend themselves. Why would you help them? They didn’t deserve it. They were in training, and any sort of help was unacceptable. That was the way nature worked. That was the way the universe worked. Empathy was just an imperfection sign that had to be erased from their minds. Vuskall heard a noise. He swiftly moved his paw inside one of his pockets and held a golden circular piece in his paw, which had intricate tribal patterns over it. He has found it. He won it. And he has killed for it already. Nobody was going to steal it from him. He needed to just give it back to his leaders and wait for the next task, as if he was just a mere messenger. Another work was complete. He analysed his surroundings carefully. Nothing showed up. The upcoming evening seemed peaceful enough to feel relatively safe. Then, he heard a noise again. He saw a toad of a very saturated yellow colour, and he recognized it: a Saddleback toad. It jumped over the tip of his boot as soon as he stood up, just minding its own business. These are poisonous, he thought. He shook it off. The frog left him, scared of what just happened, and went back to the river. The assassins’ expression was non-existent. It was cold. Dark. His black opal eyes looked at the sun, trying to find it. It was hidden already. Another day was gone. This was him, after all. All this was just what he was supposed to be. He was just a pawn. A disposable pawn that could be thrown away at any time. A killing machine, an assassin that serves the leader of his community. No voice. No personality. No spirit. No soul. Only the dripping blood dagger that was hidden under his wrist. That was him.

Lone Wolf Cowboy by Maisey Yates
Lone Wolf Cowboy by Maisey Yates is the seventh book in the Gold Valley series. Each book while based in the same setting and with many of the same characters has different main characters and can be read as standalones. The stories do tend to have cowboys and horses however.
Vanessa left home as soon as she could. She was not the perfect child and never could do anything right, so she stopped trying. She ended up spending years being an addict and going downhill on a never ending spiral. Being arrested and put into rehab started her next chaper and she worked hard to start her life again. She is back at Gold Valley working as an art therapist at the Dalton’s new school.
Jacob Dalton is reclusive, a loner. He has worked as an EMT and as a wildland firefighter, but right now he has been pulled into helping Gabe with his new school. His newest neighbor is the art teacher and he has a case of lust with her. It is surprising or maybe not what happens next. Jacob and Vanessa have decisions to make.
Lone Wolf Cowboy by Maisey Yates ended well. I liked Jacob and grew to like Vanessa. I have to admit, I didn’t at first because she was a bit preachy, but I grew to understand she needed to explain so much to others to help her, help others. Lone Wolf Cowboy by Maisey Yates was a hot, fast read!

I’m begging you to tell me more about the weed man
alright! here's his toyhou.se page: https://toyhou.se/7669709.lakeripple
so lakeripple is a chill guy, a really nice chill guy, and his whole clan adores him for it, especially his siblings. he and silverbird are absolutely inseparable
he originally started training as a healer because he loves plants, but he and flurryfeather both quickly realized he's too squeamish for the job. he changed over to being a warrior apprentice, but spends a lot of his time gardening herbs for the healers and pretty plants around camp. this is why his new design has catmint leaves in his pelt, they just get stuck there but he likes them so he keeps them
he's considered to be quite pretty, and it's not uncommon for young cats to have crushes on him, but he's pretty oblivious so never really pays it any mind
he's in this very casual kinda-sorta relationship with one of the wildland loners, Bushy, they're attracted to each other and hang out when they cross paths but they rarely seek each other out actively

I'm up WAY too late but I had an idea for a short story about when Flamefoot left RiftClan and met the wildland loners, and it gave me an idea for her mate Skyler that I absolutely had to draw immediately! So here she is! I don't think her eye shape is quite right yet and I might make her a liiiittle fluffier, so I'll probably do some more sketching before maybe going back and fixing this a little bit, but I think I got the sun-bleached black cat look across?? Also lesbian collar because Yes.
