The 'water' of the Greed ring is so toxic that if Cindy takes a normal bath, even that slowly activates, reignites her spinal cord injury, making her develop onset of paralysis. Thankfully it's not permanent, only present while submerged in the water, although severe enough to extend to her respiratory muscles and lead to passing out. Once unconscious, the Phoenix Force takes over, obliterating the bathtub to pieces, if it's the Wasteland Lake, giving her enough strength to crawl out. It is extremely rare for her fire to act...not against but without her will, only happening in similar situations: the Force protecting its chosen.

After the paralysis wears off comes the burn, muscle spasms slowly decreasing in severity with time. She needs at least three days of recovery to regain proper motor skills, not counting the mental damage.

There is a reason why Cindy refuses to step foot in Sloth, especially after learning it serves as the hospital of Hell. Not only she's terrified of hospitals to no end but she has very serious substance abuse due to chronic pain. And...she knows she wouldn't want to leave after she's been put in a state where everything is fine. She has been flooring the metaphorical gas pedal since she can remember, she cannot allow herself to stop because there's no guarantee she could start again. She wants to rest, to dull the physical, mental aches so badly, but she knows the price of that decision.

Today has!!! Sucked!!! So bad!!!

It's a long story and a great addition to our list of Ongoing Horrible Situations, and we were severely triggered multiple times in a variety of ways..... Suffice to say our pre-existing disdain for cops has never been stronger.

Selfish as it is, it's a situation we have been desperately trying to remove ourself from all month anyway, and been dragged back into against our will. We started it, sort of, but after 3 days (honestly, after the horrible blow to morale at the end of the first day we started trying to withdraw, but by the end of the third we washed our hands of it... Until yesterday.) Since it's a matter involving the police and active investigations as of today we can't really even vent about details of it... But God, it sucks really bad. It's a dispute between our next door neighbor and someone else, and we are on the side of the someone else. We are scared, hurt, angry, and deeply saddened- and this is a situation not handled well by a system already so depressed we had to quit work.

Sigh. But despite the crisis, we relied on a crisis text line to get through the scary peak of our feelings (everyone clap for Wyld we are so proud of him, genuinely) and on our brother as well as our partner system to get back to our baseline. For right now at least, we are doing as OK as we can. We and all of our loved ones are safe in our home with the door locked and any danger present will only be outside. For tonight, we are safe, things are calm, and we are going to do our best to believe things will be okay for all parties involved.

The waves keep rolling in and crashing over us, we just have to focus on staying upright for now.
