Wilderness on Prime??
Hahah, yeahhhh, but it wasn't particularly substantial? It was hot, for sure, for SURE, but its appeal came more in who was involved and the hotness and suddenness of the moment rather than any particular depth in the f/f part of the relationship. For me, at least. :x

I swear we need these scruff bar shenanigans that have been mentioned in a few asks. It’s too cute. Does it mostly happen to Miko and Jack bc they are more adventurous and active? Also a little confused by the ask on Optimus biting scruff bars? Is that like comforting?
The scruff bar usage is a way for older Cybertronians to corral their rambunctious little ones, especially those too bitey or have a tendency to bolt. Bitlets don't go limp from having their scruff bar getting pulled on, but it makes it far easier to lull down them down with aggressive EM field byplay since adults are able to take control of their field like that.
So scruff bar yanking isn't the comfort part. It's all the snuggles via field play or physically holding them down.
It's mainly Miko and Jack because they would try to climb him or wander away. Raf is still in a baby phase, so he sleeps like a solid brick of concrete while nuzzling to a heat source.
I like the thought Optimus biting their scruff bars because 1) he's beyond exhausted to care that it's inappropriate for a city-mech, 2) sparklings don't have the cultural background to understand, and 3) I think it's a cute detail of the feral!pre-Orion Pax life. Optimus has a lot of positive feelings towards over that specific behavior because it means safe, secure, and toasty snuggles.
There were a few Rangers with trained mechanimal companions and some beastformers that would do that to a wild, exhausted sparkling. They were hoping to coax him into joining their respective groups with enough food and care.

Jenna Coleman as Liv Taylor in Wilderness episode 2
It's insane that she never even got a single nomination for her brilliant performance in this show!

Absolutely sick to death of listening to people insist that all horses should be running free on the American plains instead of being "slaves" for riding and pulling. Firstly, the populations of horses on the American plains are feral and invasive. They originate from domestic populations, and on top of that very few are actually related to the first horses that were brought by colonizers. Most are related to or just straight up are ranch horses that got loose. Secondly, the vast majority of domestic horses would die in a matter of days if you tossed them out there because they don't have the traits that set them up for survival that feral population have due to natural selection. And third, even for the populations of horses that are adapted to that kind of environment, their life expectancy is cut in half compared to domestic horses. When feral horses are adopted into domestication, their life expectancy doubles. That's because being in the wild with little to no human intervention is not the sunshine and rainbows you see when you watch Spirit. Wild populations go through annual periods of starvation where many horses die and survivors are skin and bones (literally emaciated) until the seasons change and there's grass again.
If you think I need to chuck my middle aged horses out to "be free" you best be prepared to throw your dogs and cats out on the streets to live among the feral populations of those animals.

I think it’s a general rule of thumb that Primes in general - no matter what continuity - are possessive and obsessive of their mates to the point of being if not out right yanderes, possibly due to the fact that Primes don’t exactly have a long life expectancy. I feel like there’s some sort of omen about Primes ‘in love,’ possibly along the lines of ‘when a Prime is in love, it’s bad news for everyone, Prime’s go mad when they’re ‘in love’.’
I read one fic that followed this idea about Bayverse Optimus being Yandere for Sam Witwicky and Ratchet (as he slowly watches the slow-motioned disaster) laments that Sentinel Prime was the same with his mate and weeps because he knows it’s gonna end badly and is scared.
Ohh, I got tf headcanons that mesh well with that line of thinking.
Primes aren't meant to stand alone. They need someone to act as a counter to them, like another Prime or a Lord Protector.
I like to think that Lord Protectors were the answer to help ground the new Primes as their numbers dwindled. They're usually mecha of Primal-descent, have the favor of one the Ancients, or have traits that are compatible with the quirks of their Prime. Lord Protectors are supposed to act as anchors to ensure their Prime doesn't wander too far away into the metaphysical or give into their wilder impulses as well as be a poignant reminder of their mortality and earthly roots.
Primes burn too brightly. Without any control, they flare into a supernova before dying too early, which contributed to the decline of their numbers...
That then led to a massive loss of knowledge and necessary skills that new Primes needed guidance to master their new frames and deep connection to their Creator.
So, a Prime being in love can be an omen, indeed. Especially for a lonesome Prime with no Lord Protector. That Prime would be immediately drawn to someone who's either a long distant Primal-descent or have the touch of the Ancients upon them as they're the greatest likelihood to bring forth a new Prime from their combined lineage.

The thing that was most fun about becoming a Transformers fan after being a Doctor Who fan first is all of the similarities. The big hiatus creating fandom power and fanon becoming canon. fans missing the forest for the trees and demanding text be taken literally. the writer published fanfiction that becomes more than apocrypha to the devout fans. the crazy eldritch esoteric lore that comes from fans of a kids show.
i'm kinda amazed optimus prime being the transformers equivalent of the other wasn't created during the hiatus.
