Wonderful! So first off! What happened to the world at large? Zombie apocalypse? Alien invasion? The return of the great evil known as knife romba?!

The world? Oh, it's fine! Well... fine as it normally is. Toons and regular humans (we referred to them as 'mundies' since there's human toons too :B) coexist, although relations are kinda tenuous at times... Y'know, due to the whole historical "oops corpos tried to make a living product and turns out they're actually sapient but the corpos fought tooth and nail against giving them rights for as long as possible for the sake of their bottom line" sorta thing. Toon rights were won piece by piece over the 40s and 50s, becoming more like actors than studio property, though nowadays they've taken up careers in all sorts of different fields!

...World's deffo not without its dangers though! I'm sure that knife roomba's still out there, somewhere... lurking... stalking it's prey... getting stuck on a corner and running out of batteries until someone feels bad enough for it to put it back on the charger...

On the one hand switching to audiobooks has gotten me back into reading and it's really the only format I can easily work into my schedule rn. But it does also mean that if I come across a line or passage that I want to remember or share I can't just highlight it and take a pic anymore I have to either borrow the ebook or hope that someone else has quoted it online somewhere

hi! im having trouble understanding the part where lottie told everybody that natalie has always been the wilderness' "favourite". may i know why? its been bugging me for dayssssss

i'm sooo sorry it took me this long to reply to this!!

so. to be completely honest. i'm not exactly sure?? like. there's obviously the fact that she was saved during the hunt. but i don't know why lottie would say it's "always". maybe because nat was the hunter and for months the wilderness gave her the animals to feed her and the group? maybe lottie knows more than the rest of us and maybe (probably?) it'll be explored more in s3!

or maybe lottie was improvising that seemed like the right thing to say at the moment to really establish that nat is meant to be the leader that lottie doesn't want to be
