Woohoo! Freyja and I finished riding the Wild Atlantic Way!

🇮🇪🌊😺🏍️💪

I spent WAYYY more time in Ireland than I planned. In my mind, it was just gonna be a one week trip, BAM, see some rocks, pointy green things or watery stuff and head back over to England and play more badminton at Crossfire Badminton Club 😹🏸 But my riding spirit had other plans. Northern Ireland reeled me in and we just kept going from there

And now, here we are, MONTHS later and finished riding at least the 1600 miles/ 2600 kilometers of the Wild Atlantic Way, not counting all the back and forth, and the ferry trip to England for the ABR Festival. See my stories for my actual squiggle route

I’m happy to say I’m DONE with Ireland. Honestly I was getting antsy at the end and really had enough camping in the rain. I was starting to get cabin fever from just wanting to finish and at a certain point I was just riding it just to say I did it, and wasn’t doing it for the love of the ride anymore. Never happened to me before, but I guess that feeling can exist even with riding

Wish I can say now I can rest, but…ONWARD!

Roaming to the ends of the Earth to Achill Island in County Mayo

Luckily no showers. The Rain Goddess of Ireland decided to give me a break. Thank goodness, I needed some space from this rain relationship.

The ride here was so beautiful. Moyteoge Head is wayyy out in a peninsula where you do an out and back on the same road. The last few km were narrow, the goats didn’t move from the middle of the road, the mountains were foggy, yet those are all things that made this a good ride.

Happy Monday!

The Corner of the Day is the most furthest parking stall behind the cinema in Westport! It rained last night so I get to spend 3 hours drying everything off from the rain! Woohoo! 🫠

I also haven’t showered in 6 days, so I went to the local swimming pool around the corner, took a huge risk and left all my stuff in my tent and paid €9/ $9.60 to take a shower. Believe me, I was super paranoid about doing this, but everything was soaking wet and I could not be bothered at that point. Paying €9 just to shower was painful, but dude, I felt a brand new cat-humanoid afterwards and could go another 6 days.

Traveling solo has its rough days (everyday? lol), but I wouldn’t have it any other way

How long can you go without showering?

I think my limit is 6-7 days before I start getting cabin fever and feeling like my hair starts looking like Golem’s 😹
