OH MAN! well! i had a friend who was involved somewhat in dtblr and i knew distantly that she was into dsmp stuff but despite having many friends who were obsessed in the height of it it never really tickled my fancy. but then this friend was posting pictures of george on twitter (i'll attach the one that got me at the end) and i was like. oh boy. who is THAT. because he is PRETTY. and she spammed me with pictures of him until i agreed to read heat waves! she also sent me tommy's trampoline vlog.

after reading heat waves i realized i didn't know what dream's voice actually sounded like (i pictured him the whole time sounding like the guy from glass animals LMAO) so i looked for a video with him in it to watch, and landed on minecraft but my friend is a bee.

which was. a lot. THAT was the first of dream's voice i heard. EVER.

after that i spent a couple months as a g.eorgebur main but i LOVED dream and i couldnt figure out why everyone seemed to hate him so much and tbh i still don't know

as for dtblr i have been on tumblr for. oh god 4 days from now is my 12th anniversary. that's horrifying. that's nearly half my life. but i made this sideblog in january of 2022 and i have been here since!

Io is a volcanic powerhouse, defying all expectations. Violent eruptions shoot out columns of gas and dust that reach far out into space, and send rivers of lava pouring across the landscape, creating a surface dotted with lakes of lava.

This little, tiny, small world of Io, you’d expect it to be geologically inactive. Instead, it’s the most volcanically active body in our solar system. The eruptions continue day in, day out, across the entire surface, a world like no other.

About the size of our moon, Io orbits closer to Jupiter than any other moon of its size. Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system, and its gravitational pull on Io is enormous.

As Io comes in towards the planet, the gravitational pull of Jupiter is stronger, causing the very rock on Io to bulge out towards its host planet. Then, as Io moves further away, the bulge shrinks and moves, causing a tide of rock on Io that’s over 300 feet tall.

Io’s tidal bulge is continuously pulled towards Jupiter. So, as Io faces the planet at slightly different angles throughout its orbit, Jupiter not only raises the rock tide 300 feet up and down, but also drags that tidal bulge back and forth, 40 miles across Io’s surface.

As Io deforms, the intense friction generated by these tidal forces produces enough heat to drive Io’s spectacularly violent volcanism.

Not sure how widely recognized this is but it’s fucking wild to me that miss kui just quietly snuck in the fact that most (if not all) of the differences between races only exist because of wishes they made to the Winged Lion.

Not that the elves superiority shtick isn’t already BS, but it’s even funnier with the context that the only difference between them and humans is that, thousands of years ago, their leaders made a greedier wish to the demon that wanted to eat them.
