A friend who keeps tabs on such things has alerted me that acts 2 and 3 of the WienerStaats Ariodante can now be found on YouTube here—I dunno what happened to act 1. The same account has had the Aix Ariodante up here for a while.

Who are your favorite dancers at the Paris Opera? Say, a top 3 in your opinion. Love your deep dives!

Gosh I would say pre-2010 was my Paris Opera Era. I grew up watching Mathieu Ganio, Ludmila Pagliero, Dorothée Gilbert, Marie Agnès Gillot. Some of them are still dancing so they are up there.

Honestly, after 2012, I didn’t really follow POB as much, it was just different after that. This is a tough question for me. I’ve been catching up recently though after they promoted Guillaume Diop. I’d say he’s in my top. I also love Leonore Baulac. Oh and Camille Bon! If you recommend some dancers, I’ll watch (but really study) them haha.

As you can tell by now, I’m fully immersed in Mariinsky and Bolshoi but mostly because they have the most videos online. Being based in the US, I also follow ABT, NYCB, SF Ballet, and PNB. Now, Het Nationale, Wienerstaats too. Paris Opera Ballet and La Scala should really be up in my watchlist more but yeah unfortunately, they are not.

OH. MY. FUCKING. GOD. Haven't seen such opera scandal in a while. This is even worse than the Wienerstaats "non abbiamo un sopran" from 2016.
