more historical inspired wicked drawings! based on clothing from the 1890s which is around the time wicked might’ve taken place if u follow the original wizard of oz timeline - it being published in 1900 and seemingly set in 1900 in the 1939 film. i also have some historical inspired drawings i did wayy back when the casting got announced that i need to post soon! 🫧 🎀

Well . . . it happened AGAIN!

Sometimes ideas can fly around in your head until suddenly they are yanked out for all to see. An idea I had for a genderbent Wicked Witch was to have Ben Barnes play him, that was maybe 10 or so years ago.

Well the other day, Ben Barnes happened to post a short video of him singing "Defying Gravity."

So, here are recolored pictures of Ben as Elphaba. The one on the left is from his portrayal of Dorian Gray. The one on the right is an artwork Jaria Rambaran made of General Kirigan.

As a Wicked fan I love that they are doing this, as now no songs will be cut and there's still room to add the 4 new songs that they are adding. I love Wicked and I don't agree with people saying this is a money grab. They want to do justice to the Source Material and to me that means both the book and the musical. This also means that we might see Dorothy in Pt. 2 of the movie. Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman are working on the movies as well. I just know those movies are going to be epic!

I'm glad you didn't add the Wicked movie that was supposed to come out December 20th 2019 because that clearly isn't happening!

WICKED THE MOVIE

Am i the only who thinks wicked should not turn into a movie?

okay. first of all, i have to say that i was excited when i found out. But let's be real. we KNOW they will screw up with the cast. The movie will completely ruin it. Also, people will never experience the magic of it. if people wanna watch it, all they have to do is turn on their tv, and not experience the whole thing live. Which is the whole point of theatre.

back to my point of the casting problem. THE ENTIRE WICKED FANDOM HAS DIFFERENT FAVOURITES OF G(A)LINDA AND ELPHABA. (we all want Aaron Tveit. lets be honest) so no matter who they cast, most of the original THEATRE fandom will dislike the movie.

As well, the musical itself is still doing really well, and is making profit. they dont really need to make more money. They are making more than enough.

Just saw "Wicked" with my mom, it was worth the watch for the chills I got watching it.

I am wearing the green, the "Wizard" coat from Her Universe ; my mom is wearing the pink. And bless her for being able to watch it with me after her knee surgery.
