Can't sleep so this is what happens. Honest question. I watched a video where a Hispanic man was using racial slurs yelling at white people about black people. Read a post that some Dominicans hate black people. I've read books, watched movies and Youtube series, and still do not have the answer. One of the benefits of dating someone who is pro-black is you learn a lot from them. Out of that entire experience and the knowledge, I've further pursued after the relationship ended, I still don't have an answer. Maybe it's me being naive to some aspects of growing up black, but I just don't get it. Seriously, what did we do to receive so much hate and anger towards us? Okay, so. I’m a single mom. A while back I started taking an interest in making my own dolls with monster high and MC2 dolls (the closest I can afford to a Ball Joint Doll). So I bought my first MC2 doll to tinker around with. The MINUTE my son saw that the “girl’s dolls” (I’m using parenthesis because I’m eye rolling with the words) had removable clothing and accessories, he had to have one. Did I tell him no? HECK NO. I took him to the toy store and let him pick out the coolest friggin MC2 doll he could find (I let him choose). The doll came with fun accessories/clothes and had an actual segway scooter that ran on batteries and could be driven with a remote control. My only condition for getting it for him: I wanted to play with the segway too! I have actually kidnapped his same size Thor doll and attached it to the segway for giggles. He thinks mommy is silly. x3 I’ve also ordered him more clothes and accessories for the doll on EBay because he likes to change things out and make her look cool. Just because he’s a boy doesn’t mean he can’t enjoy the same stuff I do. He also wants to dye his hair pink (which is currently his favorite color). The only reason I haven’t let him yet is because it’s expensive and he will likely change his mind the minute it’s done. NOT because pink is a “girl’s color”! I do actively warn him that there are strange people out there who assign things to certain genders and that I think it’s weird (he does too), but only to prepare him for people like the OP discussed. My attitude is: He likes what he likes. Anyone who ridicules me for letting him like what he likes can kindly go climb a tree. :)
