barely having a chance to greet the staff, you were quickly ushered into the seat. behind you, a pink wall separated you and your mystery partner. you had hoped they were going to be someone your age. it was already awkward talking to a stranger, but if it was a senior? you shuddered.

“y/n-ssi,” the director handed you the noise-cancelling airpods. you nodded at him gratefully and the cameras started rolling.

the chat was empty for a while and you almost started typing when a greeting came.

Three Best Matches - (ISFP, ISTP, INTP)-

-ISFP-

Of the two women Tommy chooses to marry, both are ISFPs. Granted, they are both very different women, but they have the same personality type. He definitely seems to be attracted to ISFPs as a whole, and who can blame him? ISFPs are loyal, sensitive, and patient souls who are grounded firmly in reality. You can sometimes be brushed off as being overly reserved or perhaps too soft, but that's not a bad thing to him. For a man who's seen extreme poverty and gone through war all before the age of thirty, your softness is something worth treasuring.

The fact that you are his opposite is not a entirely negative either. He works in darkness but he wants to come home to light. When he is alone with you he can pretend to be a man and not a monster. You smile and the day is brighter. There is warmth in you that he is starved of and he cannot let go. Tommy would want to protect you, he would want to try to be a better man. The problem, which we have seen throughout there series, is that he will fail.

INTP is one who sees all angles to all things. It makes it hard sometimes to commit to one ideology or one opinion, but it also makes for a good strategist. Which you prove yourself to be to Tommy. He never intended or wanted his lover to be involved in the criminal side of his life, so you might just be helpful for his political ventures. That's fine for you, the less you know the better. As much as I love reading your posts about part 5 and other stuff you have given to us(I've been eating them up like a 2 week long starved woman who's having a bad case of uterus shedding) I can't help but notice I'm not seeing a lot more other parts. This is my fault ofc oopsies 🤭

May I request how yandere Jotaro (specifically part 3 but any other part is fine) would be like as a yandere from your godly perspective and writing? So sorry if you've already done something similar to this my memory is so bad.

A lot of- if not almost all- of my earliest posts are about Jotaro, actually. It’s so strange to think that that’s the semi-distant past, it doesn’t feel like it’s been six (or five?) months of having this blog already. I don’t mind going back to the same topic very much, it can be fun to update an interpretation. 

Jotaro has a certain difficulty expressing his feelings, which is funny considering his blunt and honest nature. He’s direct, yet not very expressive. Emotionally distant yet always physically present. His mother’s overbearing nature only backfired- Jotaro doesn’t like talking about his feelings because he didn’t want small things to be a big deal, and as he’s gotten older, he’s only shut himself off more.

He dislikes a lot of attention. The philosophy Yoshilage Kira holds- “I merely want to live a quiet life”- is more or less shared with Jotaro, but he just keeps attracting fuckin’ freaks. He’s cursed. He’s cursed, and somehow this is his fault- or, rather, it’s his spirit’s fault. 

Star Platinum is semi-sentient, it’s like Jotaro’s feelings are acting on their own rather than entirely separate from Jotaro. It obeys mindlessly, but often acts out of Jotaro’s curiosity. It finds amusement in picking up your clothes- whether it be a frilly skirt Jotaro gave you, or a shiny accessory it wants to put somewhere else- but it isn’t toying with you on purpose. While Star Platinum is good natured, Jotaro is… well, the intention is there.

Jotaro’s naturally introverted, I’d put his mbti as INTJ when he’s younger and INTP when he’s older. He’s analytical, likes to think things through, but you know what? Jotaro is impatient and rash when he’s caught up in his feelings. It gets better with age, but in his prime, it’s hopeless. It’s no wonder the initial manifestation of his stand forced Jotaro to self isolate, Jotaro doesn’t know how to handle bad things, and doesn’t want the attention that not being fine comes with. 

When he’s hit with another problem, he buries it. He’s never had a crush before, he doesn’t know it’s not supposed to be so… all-consuming. You know how when girls get all boy crazy, or whatever? Jotaro would say it's like that, but just for you.

Jotaro doesn’t like to lie, but he gets a bit choked up whenever he’s with his darling. He’s avoidant, and he’s not good at improv, so if his darling seriously drills him on his behavior, they’ll be met with huffs and grunts. 

Jotaro has a protective nature, it’s why he finds it so hard to just let things be. He’s attracted to smaller and considerably more fragile people. Of course this fragility is perceived, you could be ripped and Jotaro would be convinced you’d snap at the slightest bit of pressure. It makes him anxious to see you alone, what if a big bad wolf comes and snatches you up? Regardless of your capabilities, Jotaro thinks of you as a precious treasure that’s clearly labeled ‘Handle with care.’ 

He’s a very typical delusional type to me. Even if you flat out tell Jotaro one thing, he’s fixed into believing whatever he wants to. It doesn’t matter if you don’t need him, it doesn’t matter if you don’t even want him, Jotaro loves you. His love is very overbearing, although he himself wouldn’t word it like that.

The process of “finding” your personality type and how it relates to who you are.

There are many ways to find our personality type. There are professional or “official” tests, there are tests focused on the cognitive functions, we can watch YouTube videos about MBTI in general or about any of the 16 types. We can also read Carl Jung's original theory and we can familiarize ourselves with other ways to type people like socionics or the enneagram. There's more than enough information online to figure out what our personality type is. That's also the reason why it can be so hard for many of us to know what our type actually is, since there are so many aspects of personality to understand and consider.

Obviously, the more we try to find exactly what our type is, the deeper we need to go into the theory of the system (or systems) we are using. It's not enough anymore to just take one or two tests and choose the type we think is most like us. If we keep trying to find our exact type so we can be 100% sure that's the best possible description of our personality, we could actually lose ourselves in the process.

Personality types are more known today (2024) than ever before. Also, younger people have more access to all this information than the previous generations. One negative consequence of this could be that they identify with a certain type too quickly, in the sense that they don't think much about if they really are that type and also in the sense that they are still too young to be any specific type, their personalities are still forming.

When can anyone be sure that their personality is “complete”? At what age can we say that we have lived enough, we have made enough decisions and we have had enough experiences to know that we are this particular way? What about change? What about growth?

Perhaps the reason why some of us can't seem to find our personality type is that we are still figuring out who we want to be. It is possible that we are not so “solid” yet, we are still fluid, flexible. That can also be the reason why we are so attracted to personality types in general. It's easier and more fun to take tests online and study this theories and compare ourselves to famous people or to our favorite characters than to “solidify” who we are in real life, interacting in a more “concrete” or direct way with the world.

Only those who have lived their lives in a specific way for specific reasons for a sufficient amount of time and are also aware of these things can be certain that their personality type is that one and no other. We need to live our lives and know ourselves in order to find our personality type, not viceversa.

We shouldn't worry about what our type might be or if we really are the type we said we were. We should focus on living our lives being true to ourselves, we should focus on making our decisions in the most authentic way we can. If we do that, then with time it will become obvious that we are certain type and we could finally accept it and be sure of it because we know who we are. Maybe the questions in the tests will be easier to answer. Or maybe we won't care anymore about personality “types” and we'll move on to more important things.

There is one last aspect about this whole dynamic of finding your “type” and being yourself I will mention. We can never escape who we are. Even if we are trying to be like someone else, trying to “fit” into a certain description, that also is part of who we are. Even if we don't think about who we are and we live life just by being reactive or impulsive, that's also telling us who we are, what kind of personality we “have”. For example, I'm not sure what my type is, and perhaps any of the 16 types could write something like this, but there are definitely some types for which it would be more likely and some for which we would not consider it most of the time. If we think about most of our decisions and actions in this way, our type will appear.

Finally, it's always easier to type others than to type ourselves. So maybe it's not that we are not ourselves yet, perhaps it's not even that we don't know who we are or we're unaware of it, maybe we just don't want to accept who we are, or at least certain aspects of ourselves.

I am the anon asked your mbti, and you know what, I am intp-a (we are almost the same haha). I totally understand you say that mbti is not a comprehensive measurement to summarize one’s personality. Actually at first I was not very interested in this test too and thought it was just as stereotypical as zodiac sign, however it turns out that my actions and mindset are just too typically intp lol. So I think it makes sense to some extend, like I am attracted to your blog which is written by another intp(Oh and I am also an acquarius). And you are right, the world is ran by emotional people. I suppose it’s becuz emotional words and actions take less time and efforts to influence people and archive the intended goals way more easily, no one would like to spend much more time to think and analyze thoroughly when forming a new opinion. In the fandom this phenomenon appears when fans keep ignoring the obvious facts and trusting in theories that up to their imaginations. I mean how could jaedo and their members all act like nothing happened if they really divorced after an almost 10-year relationship. And why would Jae know every detail about do’s life if they are not close at all. And as you said, every time I saw these clueless words, as an introvert I would only choose to be silent and watch. My mother is a psychologist, so I was introduced (and tested) to MBTI way before it became a fad. I have an MBTI tag on the blog, I explained my views on the test more in older posts. Check the tag list, the link is in the header.

Now, Aquariuses being drawn to other Aquariuses is a bigger mystery. It is very often when I really like a person through art/music (self-expression), I find out he/she is another Aquarius. Stars aside, people are born in different climates and cultures, you can't even explain it with weather/sunlight exposure/nutrients levels/the start of school period, heh. It is a persistent delusion in need of explanation.

INTPs belong to the 1st brain type (read "Three brains" tag on the blog), the cortex is strong, the default setting is "sit and think". The majority of people belong to "logic/emotion" combo (2nd brain type), and a big chunk to "emotion" (3d). High cognition and proper thinking takes a lot of energy (neurons eat up sugars, spend neuromedeators and demand oxygen supply), that is why most people, even if they can, don't switch into "processing" mode. Add to it the way the modern education fails people (they are not trained to think, encouraged to emote, are pampered) and how social media propells those who can be flashy,loud and thicksculled (clickbait, emotions=drama=attention=clicks and money).

Finally, people go to social media/fandom to unwind. Even if they are capable of thinking, even if they are well educated, they spend all of their energy reserves they can allocate to "info processing" on studying and daily work. Therefore, even logical people get easily swept by the commotion, their, usually dormant, emotional centres get activated by induced panic (your bias is being attacked! danger!) or online bullying (you! shut up! traitor!). And when emotional brain gets activated, it shuts up the logical brain in all people.

There is no point in arguing with people who believe in their fantasy. They will cling to it and defend it. The only way is to provide your own perspective as an alternative for fans to read.
