like any coupling, revali and link have got to have some pet names for each other

link is a little asshole and calls revali his sweet little cucco ❤️ because he fr the type to say shitty pickup lines after looking at the bird descriptions in his hyrule compendium like "are you a hotfeather pigeon? because you've got me feeling hotter than death mountain" or "you must be a bright-chested duck because your meat is definitely fat and high quality ;)" (revali actually threw him out of their roost into totori lake for that one and his feathers were poofed up for hours)

in contrast, revali's pet names for link are actually very sweet and meaningful, and are only spoken in the most besotted manner possible; "my jewel/my treasure" because the rito have the bird instinct to hoard shiny things and eventually become bored of them, but revali is completely enamored with link, hair golder than amber and eyes brighter than the most lustrous of sapphires.

revali also calls link "songbird", because i love the headcanon that all the links are musically inclined and i hc that botw!link is an incredible singer, with a smooth and soothing singing voice. he sings once with kass's children at warbler's nest for funsies and revali is absolutely mesmerized by link's voice, but teasingly calls him "songbird" and it sticks! link is his beautiful little songbird and revali falls in love a little more when link sings for him <3

- always hypes you tf up whenever you feel insecure or worse about yourself, so he makes it a personal mission for him to make all of these thoughts go away as he showers you with hundreds of compliments

- after finding out that you love the sound of his voice and find his talking soothing – bro ain't gonna shut his mouth even for a second. he'd do just about anything to make you happy so if blabbering about every single stupid thing he saw on the internet today is one of these things, so be it 🙏

NIKI'S are subtle acts of service:

- he's very attentive to everything you do even if he might not appear as such type

- he has all of your order preferences memorized by heart or written down in his notes app. also, he knows you're not the biggest fan of ordering or talking to the waiters so he always makes sure to do it for you and places your order alongside with his by himself

- whenever you're on a walk and it's getting cold, he will FORCE his hat or gloves onto you, rather having himself freeze to death than seeing one shiver running down your body

- walks you to school every morning without a fail and always buys you coffee on the way

🗣️Talk about your favourite WIP

You know, I didn't realize how difficult most of these questions would be when I reblogged the original post. Lmfao. I have so many WIPs that it's really hard to pick a favorite - and favorite in terms of what? Idea, quality of the writing? Level of interest?

Right now, one of my favorite WIPs is a nonlinear character study of Silco, written in vignettes. I'm happy with the structure, which is dream-like but punctuated with visceral physicality. That said, I think I'm trying to do too much with it, treating it basically as a dumping ground for EVERY SINGLE HEADCANON I have about Silco, which ... does not make a very good story. It needs to be decluttered, and I need to key back on some of the melodrama in some areas where I'm just tossing trauma into the salad cackling gleefully like a maniac. It's the very first Arcane fic I started writing (over a YEAR AGO at this point, lolsob) and if nothing else I'd please like to finish this goddamn fic, brain, get your shit together.

❌What WIP do you find the most challenging? Why?

Ugh. All my WIPs are challenging in that I can't fucking finish anything lol. But I think my most challenging is the original short story cycle project I've been writing on and off since my senior year of high school. The central story, the one that started the project, has been completely rewritten 5+ times and needs another complete rehaul. There's a staggering amount of work that needs to be done on this story alone, let alone the rest of the cycle, and I find it incredibly disheartening. Every once in a while I go back to reread what I have so far, and even the stories that I considered 'polished' when I submitted them for my undergrad capstone project need so much updating to keep them thematically appropriate, tighten the narrative, and fix my general fuck-ups that are the result of not enough research/lazy storytelling. Would love to publish this story collection some day, but that's far in the future.
