His style is my goals-the mix of rap and melodic chorus/hook and intrumental-I won’t get into a long rant, but I could talk for hours about his style and lyrics and vibes.

1. What’s the maximum amount of time your character can sit still with nothing to do?

he’s gotten really good at it since he had to start hiding from murder robots... but even before then he was never a super fidgety person so he could sit very still !

2. How easy is it for your character to laugh?

he’s good at pretending everything’s fine when it’s all actually Rather Shit so. yeah pretty easy

3. How do they put themselves to bed at night (reading, singing, thinking?)

thinking mostly.... sometimes he’ll talk to someone and drift off from there but it depends on who’s on lookout or how quiet the group has to stay

4. How easy is it to earn their trust?

he tries to remain suspicious of people he meets but at heart he’s too trusting for his own good tbh.... he does try to hold off on trusting stangers these days but hes still a little soft

5. How easy is it to earn their mistrust?

yeah pretty easy. like it’s easy enough to get him to trust you in the first place but once you do something to fuck that up then good luck getting it back lmao

6. Do they consider laws flexible, or immovable?

laws arent really. a thing anymore djkfhdljk but when they were he’d like... say laws are immovable and very needed and then do stuff that completely contradicted that view

7. What triggers nostalgia for them, most often? Do they enjoy that feeling?

cooking !! it reminds him of when he used to help his mum out with houseowrk/cooking. he. doesnt really like the feeling because it reminds him that he has no idea if his family is actually still alive or not :(

he doesnt swear heaps but he does enough that it’s not super shocking whenever he does. he sweras more the angrier/more agitated he gets

he’d regularly lie to his mum just so he could get out of the house and go to parties lol. he’s not super haunted by it or anything (& he was a pretty good kid otherwise so he figures he was allowed at least this one not great thing)

he’ll try to play along until he can figure stuff out but if he cant he’ll just go “what tf is happening”

either gets someone to scratch it or uses like. a ruler or smth

he thinks he looks best in green but it’s... not his best colour

he usually just says whatever comes to his mind tbh. idk how to properly descrive it but like... the way he talks makes him sound smart but not arrogant about it yknow. like you hear him talk and youre like “yeah this is a guy who knows what hes doing”

nah not really !! he’s always been a hard worker

it follows him around for a loooooong time. whether it goes away or just fades into background noise really depends on the situation but it’s not easy for him

he always tries to be supportive !! unless it’s something like. morally disgusting then No but he tries to support his friends even if he thinks whateber theyre talking about is kinda dumb

i cant remember the name for it but he does the thing where like. he’ll associate thing a with thing b by finding something that connects them togehter? like a syllable in thing a sounds like thing b so. yeah. im good at explaining

either when astrid helped him bust out of the factory he was trapped working in or just miscellaneous memories of his mum & siblings

he tends to ignore people’s flaws which can lead to issues

he tries to be self critical but he’s not really self critical enough for it to make a solid difference. usually he has to be told what he’s doing before he consciously realises it

he likes them !! he was the oldest of a lot of siblings so he knows how to handle them & he’s pretty good with them

his end goal is to stop robots killing everything & for everything to go back to normal so id say he wants that pretty fuckin bad

A) Why are you excited about this character?

i made him for my comic which. i will start one day fdklgjdlkjgd..... also hes just fun to develop ! i gave him a bunch of traits i rlly like and also i made him like bugs a lot so. i am biased

B) What inspired you to create them?

uh. needed characters for the comic hehe.....i cant remember the exact process i went thru when making him?? i wanted someone who was close to astrid/who she could trust, plus i had the idea for a backstory (i think. like i said i cant remember my exact process)

C) Did you have trouble figuring out where they fit in their own story?

not really, i came up with the concept before i actually made his character

D) Have they always had the same physical appearance, or have you had to edit how they look?

he’s always had the same appearance !! even though i should probably change it a little because he looks different every time i try drawing him but shhhhh

E) Are they someone you would get along with? Would they get along with you?

hes someone i would think is super cool but then. would never actually talk to jkdsfhsdjkhfsdjk. he’d be nice to my face but i’m....not sure what he’d genuinely think of me oops

uhh technically not ?? in his original concept he was gonna be in a poly relationship with 2 others but i cut the other members of the relationship. not because of pascal it’s because i thought the group would get too big and like. they value stealth and sneakiness. plus it’s harder for big groups to travel undetected

1. Explains a date idea so excitedly and loudly that you have to shut them with a kiss – Jackson. He gets so carried away when he gets excited. I think a kiss would be the only way to get him to stop talking (for a minute at least lol)

2. Buys you a giant teddy bear that can’t fit through the door to your room – Daniel and Eunwoo! I can just imagine them trying to get through the door and getting stuck and whining from behind the huge teddy!

3. Buys you chocolates a day early and “accidentally” eats half of them – Mino. I can imagine him being so proud of himself for getting them ready in advance but he ends up staying up too late and needing a snack and not being able to help himself XD

4. Makes a romantic song for you and then gets shy when they show it to you – YoungK or Kihyun. I think they would both put in so much effort to make it perfect and then build it up in their heads so much that when it came time for them to actually show it they’d get so nervous!

I just feel that once he gets comfortable with his s/o that he wouldn’t get embarrassed by things like that. Probably Jackson as well tho tbh. Phase 3: Redemption

After my embarrassing hump day joke on Wednesday and the failed attempt at getting Scott to help me with the boxes, which I did really need help with, I decided I really needed to turn things around. I’m a pretty determined person, and I’m happy to say that it paid off. 

Thursday - I started thinking in the morning what I could say to Scott, then I remembered how he stocked my favorite tea yesterday. So, in the few weeks that have passed, I have learned how everyone sounds when they walk, so I can usually tell when Scott is walking in, plus he comes in later than literally everyone else. I know, it’s very extra, probably borderline creepy. To be fair, I haven’t always planned to be standing/walking around when Scott comes in; a few times it just happened that way, and I don’t plan to be around every day when he comes in. However, this day, I was very eager to redeem myself. I hear him come in so I pop out of my cubicle and head toward the bathroom. He has dark sunglasses on and a smirk on his face when he sees me. We greet each other and then I say (a little too loudly, since I’m so excited), “Did you stock the Jasmine green tea yesterday?”. We’ve already passed each other and we both keep walking, but we both turn around to face each other. “Yeah, you like that one too?”, he asks. “Yeah, it’s the best one. Thanks!” I go into the bathroom and literally put my arms in the air like I just won something. Which I did. I won redemption.

After my lunch, I was working on something new, and I had to ask Joyce a question. I exit my cubicle and then look down the one hallway and Scott is heading toward someone’s cubicle to talk to them in the sales department. I give a little smile. Joyce isn’t at her desk so I turn around, and when I look down the hallway again and smile, Scott smiles back, then decides to head my way. I feel like a moment really passes between us, like a secret only the two of us know. I hang out in my cubicle doorway and he goes and gets some tea. I have no idea what to say and I guess neither does he. I hang awkwardly at my cubicle and then walk back and forth between my cubicle and Joyce’s. Scott heads back to the sales department, but he left his food container next to the coffee machine, so I go and make some tea. He comes back after a minute to grab his container, and I say “sorry” and move out of the way and he says “It’s aight”.

Later, when I take an order to the warehouse, I look over my shoulder into Scott’s office. He’s looking at me, and his mouth is in a thin line. This is not the first time he’s made that face at me, and I have no idea why he does it. Maybe he doesn’t realize he’s doing it. I should probably work on looking in less though, because Steve and Chris are going to notice eventually if I keep doing it half the time I walk by.

So I leave very, very slowly again today, and as I am pushing open the one door to leave, I hear someone coming. It’s Scott. We greet each other and I ask him how his day was. He says it was alright and asks me how my day was. I say it was slow, but that the whole week has been like that. I open the other door to the outside, and move out of the way so he can pass me as I hold open the door. He thanks me. He’s saying how his week was slow too and that he’s glad it’s almost Friday, and he says something else about it being almost friday/the weekend, but I don’t fully hear him because I’m looking at the lake and sky. I love coming out every day and just looking, because it always looks different but always so beautiful. Every day is a surprise. So I’m trying to admire the scene and also listen to Scott, but it’s hard for me to do both at the same time lol. But we say bye and then leave.

I head right from work to therapy, and the exit I had to get off, I saw a car that looked a lot like Scott’s. I don’t know what exit he is, so I was super paranoid it was him. I’m freaking out like “oh no, what if it’s him and he sees me and he thinks I followed him or something.” It was really bothering me. At therapy I had a really good session. I talked about some of my new, good habits and also talked about Scott. My therapist hopes I get a date, gave me some pointers on initiating conversation, and told me not to worry if it was his car and that it probably wasn’t. After therapy, I stopped home, then went over Amanda’s. Since her son’s dad is 17 years older than her, she was at first super biased about me being into someone so much older than me. But after telling her about how he tried to talk to me and had no idea where he was going with it and how he’s turned red a few times around me, she said his mannerisms are cute. She also made fun of me for the hump day thing but then said it was cute and he probably thinks so too.

Friday - So I heard someone come out of the bathroom some time in the morning, so I went over to the printer. I was actually printing stuff, but I figured I’d stand there while it prints and take my chance. I usually stand at the printer anyway whenever I print, but it just feels like it’s plotted when I do it in hopes Scott walks by lol. Sure enough, I hear “Hey, Dana, what’s up?” behind me. I look to my left and say “Hey, Scott. Good Morning.” I am pretty busy today and decide to chill a bit and not try to force any interaction today. 

Later in the day, I hear someone at the coffee machine. Everyone else is really fast at the coffee machine except Scott, so I listen and hear whoever it is is taking their time. I get up and walk out and sure enough it’s Scott. He’s already facing my cubicle, maybe in hopes I come out or maybe he was planning on coming over. I am ready to walk away down the hall, but change my mind. “Hey, Scott. Have any weekend plans?” I ask, as I stand inside my cubicle doorway. He leans up against the counter and faces me, and answers that he’ll be watching the Eagles game on Saturday, and I respond “Oh it’s not Sunday?”. “Nah, it’s the playoffs so it’s Saturday. I’d like to go to a game, but tickets are expensive, ya know?”. I would like to take the opportunity here to say I have never been more interested in football in my life than in this moment. Sign me up for Football 101. Give me a ball and some gear and set me loose, I am ready. I tell him how I went to a game once with my mom (irrelevant since it was 11 years ago, but whatever) and how we were at the very top and it was January and freezing. He says it’s supposed to be cold for the game, and I say how I was already used to the warm weather this week, and then suddenly remember and say out loud, how I never turned my heat down this morning. (I think I subconsciously say this to inform him that I live on my own, but really it just popped out of my mouth). Then he asks me what my plans are. “Oh just relaxing. I might go over a friend’s Saturday and just watch Netflix all day.” I beam at him and his mouth goes into a little crooked smirk. Ah, my heart. He says something along the lines of “At least it’s the weekend finally” and in a split second every fiber of my being is going “Oh no, we’ve already done the small talk twice. We’re past this now.” I say how I have a second job I work on Sundays, so I only have Saturdays off. He asks me what I do and where I work. I tell him how once I go permanent I’d like to leave there though. He says “You’re still a temp?” and I say yeah, but that I’m supposed to be on-boarding this month or next month. He turns to genuine concern when he says “Are you sure? Some of the guys out there (he means warehouse) were temps for years.” I say “Oh no, Angelo spoke to me in November and definitely said January or February.” He says that’s good and I tell him I’m excited. At some point during our conversation, I laugh at something I say, which honestly probably wasn’t even funny, but I do that all the time. Sometimes I close my eyes when I laugh, which I did, but I could still feel that his eyes were on me. Our conversation dies, but we lock eyes for a solid 5-10 seconds. We don’t say anything, and I feel like again, there’s a secret passing between us. I’m not sure if we break away at the same time, or if one of us does before the other. I go to walk away, but back track, then go to head off again. I had no idea how to react to what just happened. He says, “Aight, I’ll talk to you later” and I say, “Okay, bye.”

I’ve been thinking this whole weekend, how long has Scott had his eye on me for? I know it’s been quite some time, but did it develop more as time passed? Was he getting ready to try and talk to me, like I had observed? The more I think about it, the more I realize how I have acted too. I had to go into his office one time, months ago, and ask him about an order, and I was so nervous that I couldn’t look at him, but I didn’t think anything of it. I have had to talk to Steve plenty of times about orders and have never had trouble talking to him. And I would always think how I liked Scott the best, but there was no reasoning behind this, especially because I never even had a conversation with him, but I had talked to both Steve and Chris. I just really liked something about Scott and never questioned it. Then, any time I saw Scott, which was rare, I would think about dating him, then quickly push the thought aside and then be done with it. Then there was the one week when I went into the lunchroom, and two days he was in there, and on both occasions when I walked in, my mind immediately went “There’s Scott.” I was dating Nick for a few months, from like June to August, then he was unsure from like August to October, then I spent November and part of December getting over it. And then when I really worked through everything, shifted my mindset to myself and what I do really want in life and a relationship and a partner, that’s when I really noticed Scott and acknowledged everything. And I like this. I like the possibilities. I like a lot about him from what I’ve seen, and I’m just hoping that he feels the same. I keep asking myself “What if he gets to know me and changes his mind?”, but I know in the end whoever I’m meant to be with with truly love me and accept me, and that I will be the same way toward them. I still want to make a post about last year and all the lessons I’ve learned and how I’ve grown, but for today I’m just going to leave this here. I’m hoping this week brings new conversations and maybe even a date, but we’ll see. I have a few conversation starters up my sleeve, so I’m hoping I can get Scott to open up a bit more. I wish I could just go to his office and chat with him whenever, but he shares his office so it’s just not possible. He could always come to my desk, but idk if he would. So for right now I still have to strategically run into him so that we can talk. I know I’m going to have to be the one to carry the conversations for awhile, and I’m okay with that. I want to try my best to make him feel comfortable, and I hope that I come off as approachable and easy to talk to, which I think in general I really am. I’m nervous myself, but if I just think about making him feeling at ease, then it’s easier for me to be at ease too. Audrey, my therapist, also reassured me that things being awkward in the beginning is okay, so I’m trying to just embrace that as well. Here’s to a good, happy week with some more progress :)

1. If you could have the life of a fictional character for a year, whose life would you choose?

FUCK I HATE THESE KINDS OF QUESTIONS. So.... I’m gonna be a nerd and say one of my own characters because I know what their lives are like for the next year or so. Intimately. But even then, I’m stuck between choosing Melinda Dormer (Time Catchers) and Willow Danson (The Dynagyn Chronicles). I think I”m going to go with Will because Lindy’s life is pretty much downhill for the foreseeable future. Will’s is terrible and has issues, but she’s got magic powers and a level head, so I think she’ll be able to handle it more. I will. Am I my own mind in these characters’ lives, or am I just an observer as they make decisions and live? (God I’m maing this so complicated. Lol)

2. If you had to listen to one song on a loop for three hours right now, what song would you choose?

I Will Never Die  by Delta Rae!

3. Favourite ice-cream flavour?

I generally dislike ice cream, but I do love birthday cake flavor. Sometimes. In small amounts.

4. Do you prefer watching movies/tv shows/cartoons/animes/etc. in silence or do you like commenting on them?

TV! Like, I’m a tv writer by profession, so I get TV writing more. On that note, whenever I’m watching TV, I always do live CinemaSins-style comments and miss important things and have to go back and watch them again... So yeah, watching any kind of TV or film with me is insuffereable because I”m the film stdent, the filmmaker watching and picking things apart.

5. Weirdest dream you’ve ever had?

This is so hard to qualify. As a writer, most of my stories have come from dreams, so that’s hard to say. I write some weird shit. But the weirdest dream ever... Um... Maybe the time that I dreamed Ian Somerhalder was my brother (because I was abandoned as a child and then adopted by my family) and I went to visit him on set at Vampire Diaries and he got so mad because my real family hadn’t abandoned me, I’d been kidnapped, and so he decided to take me back and adopt me and become my best friend and then there were spies involved and I ended up killing somone. It was like brother-sister spy stuff with James Bond-level gadgets and action. It was weird. But to this day, I still call Ian Somerhalder my brother as an inside joke with my family and closest friends.

6. If you had to spend an afternoon with the main character of the last book you’ve read, how would you spend it?

Okay, so I’ve been rereading Throne of Glass, but I don’t know if rereads count. If they do, technically the main haracer or the book I was reading was Celaena Sardothien, so I’d spend my day with her fighting and training probably. Talking about reading while trying to stab each other with knives.

If we’re not including rereads, the main character of the last book I read was Laia from A Torch Against the Night, in which case, I’m not sure how I’d spend the day. Probably telling her not to bother falling in love with anybody that surrounds her because I don’t like any of the characters in this series for her. None are worthy. But also, I’d probably slap her and tell her she doesn’t have to do everything herself. IDK. Maybe I’d just wrap her in a blanket and take her away from this world that doesn’t deserve her.

7. If you could write an episode for any tv show (running or already cancelled), which tv show would you write for?

Eyyyyyy my kind of question! Okay, so I have written episodes for TV before (spec episodes, never produced), so I’m a little biased. I’ve written one for Pretty Little Liars. I have an episode of Shadowhunters that I worte (I’d love to be in that writer’s room, but I also heard that the showrunners don’t respect the women in the room nearly enough and pretty much dictate the way they write their episodes, so idk about that). I love the show Stitchers, so that’s be a cool assignment. Of course, none of my shows have been picked up yet, so I can’t say any of those. I’m also writing my own version of the Thone of Glass tv show pilot, but that’s fan fiction. It’s different. I think, if I had to choose, I’d say Once Upon a Time (but in a world where I could keep the old characters and plot, not this new reboot BS) OR an episode of Castle. That was my all-time favorite.

8. If you could have the home of any fictional character, whose home would you want to have?

Another fucking impossible question. Um... I’m going to avoid saying any of my characters (even though I loooooove Lindy’s loft in Time Catchers and J.D.’s house in the woods in Deep Six) and say probably Feyre’s in A Court of Mist and Fury/A Court of  Wings and Ruin. All of her houses. The House of Wind, the townhouse in Velaris. Anywhere where Rhysand is in my bed when I come home....

9. Last tv show, movie or book that you’ve discovered through tumblr?

Through tumblr? Maybe Jessica Jones. I don’t normally find TV shows through tumblr anymore.

I have been fat all my life, so I am going to be lazy and say sightseeing.

I would name him Heihei. I’m a sucker for Moana and that name was the first to come to mind. I had a friend who named her chicken “Duck.” He was adorable, and I might consider doing that, but I think I would ultimately end up with Heihei.

Weed is special to me. It's the first "thing" that popped the Christian bubble that I grew up in. I thought most people were Christian, like no one was racist, like it was a nice bubble. My thoughts on weed was why would anyone willingly throw their lives away, based on media I had seen and the stereotype the general public had. I always wanted to be someone who could give good advice based on experience. So I had to try smoking so that I could tell people I've done that, don't do that and after I did, I was so amazed at how happy it made me. I always said that my best conversations with God was when I was high. This was the first time in my life I felt lied to. Especially after I researched why its illegal in the 1st place (racist) and to this day (pharmaceutical money). It made me realize that even if 95% of people believe something they can all be totally wrong. The second major time I felt lied to was a Black Studies class, where we learned American history from a perspective other than the victor. EVERYTHING made sense to me after this class. It made me angry that I had to pay for a college class to learn this material when I should be mandatory for every American. It changed almost everything about me; I knew who I was after this class. Immediately I was so upset that I was taught history from such a biased perspective and then I understood why high school was so weird for me being one of the only black kids. It made sense that they all saw me as their "favorite black person" instead of just a friend. I was raised very religious and am very thankful to my church family who has always been there for me and my family. I love my church and I love the people in it. The 3rd major time I felt lied to was when I started reading the Bible for myself. I never read it when I was younger because I thought it had a whole bunch of rules in it and I thought if I never read the rules then God couldn't hold me accountable for what I didn't know. Like how can you possibly know what you don't know, ya know? After my Black Studies class, I needed to know truth at all costs. So naturally I started reading the Bible in search for answers. I would read the Bible and take notes like it was a class. I would go visit old stories I remember and just go from there. With cell phones I loved reading the Bible. I could Google stories to find the exact Bible verse and then basically read a book from its first chapter to understand context. Technology gave me 300 translations in one app. If I was reading a verse and couldn't believe what it said I would look at it in 3 or 4 different translations like damn it really says that in every version lol. Even in church when pastor started preaching I would go into my own little world intently studying the word. Ultimately, the Bible became too difficult to defend from myself. I would try to reason my way out of things like thats the old testament, we don't live under that law anymore. God works in mysterious ways arguments. No human could ever comprehend God's fairness. But the more and more I read the closer I got to doubting it's truth. There are 3 main verses/ideas in the New Testament (countless in the old testament) that I can very easily morally disagree with. And my thoughts on the Bible is either its 100% absolute truth and God's inspired word or it was made up by humans for control. So even one verse in the Bible that is "wrong" discredits the whole for me. To prove something you need to show that it works in every case, to disprove something you only need one example. My 3 main examples are: 1 Timothy 2:11-15 1 Peter 2:18-19 Revelations 12: the whole chapter 1 Timothy 2:11-15 Read it for yourself in several translations to be sure. But what it says is God doesn't allow women to teach men or to tell them what to do. I'm reading this verse basically because of a woman teacher (and preacher) who changed my life for the better. The verse also says that she must listen quietly because Adam was made first and Adam wasn't the one who initially ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Side note: From a Christian perspective all death and suffering in the world come from humans wanting knowledge. Lil peculiar to me. From God's perspective he likes us better when we are dumb and blindly follow. I guess that's why he calls us his sheep. This verse opened my eyes to how shitty women are treated in the Bible and most religions. The Bible teaches the woman to be subservient, I can't teach that shit to my daughter. It lead to questions like who's your favorite woman in the Bible not named Mary. Or why does God have a gender in the first place when that's something assigned based on physical appearance. As ab-soul says, in 66 books they didn't let a lady say one word. 1 Peter 2:18-19 These verses are simple. It says that slaves should obey their masters. Okay, cool I guess I don't agree but I don't disagree either. Then it goes on to say that slaves should obey their master even if the master is bad to them. I can pretty easily say fuck that. As I have gotten a bachelor's degree in Black Studies, these are verses that were used during slavery to convince slaves to behave. I always wondered how masters and slaves could read the same text and interpret it so drastically different. I guess perspective is realer than reality sometimes. So I guess a black woman homosexual should be the least likely Christian American, if we actually read it. Revelations 12 I gotta say that this is my favorite chapter in the Bible. The amount that happens in one chapter is mind blowing but I disagree with this from a science perspective. And I KNOW your not supposed to talk about science and religion together but hear me out. I had no problem with Jesus miracles, I can believe in the Jonah and the whale story, I can even believe most of the chapter. Brief summary: There's a woman with the sun as her clothes and the moon under her feet. She's having a baby and Satan who has shape-shifted into a red dragon with 7 heads and 10 horns is trying to eat the baby (can't make this up). What's crazy is I'm okay with all of this, it doesn't bother me scientifically but then it says that the dragon (Satan) swept it's tail and swept (1/3) or 33.3333% of all the stars out of the sky and flung them to earth. This is so scientifically illiterate its crazy. Googles estimate of stars in the observable Universe (meaning only the ones we can see with telescopes) is 100,000,000,000 or 100 billion stars. Quick math divide by 3 and that's 33.33 billion stars being flung at earth from the devils tail in the future. Also quick astronomy lesson is the sun is an average star. Meaning there are sun's much much bigger than ours. Also our sun is 109 times larger than the earth. So basically I'm saying that if 1 star was flung at earth let alone 33 billion, then the earth would be completely engulfed not hit. The chapter makes it sound like a bunch of asteroids will hit earth. This is like the Bible saying the earth is the center of the universe, it's just wrong. I can let stuff slide all day that can't be proven like miracles but when it talks about something we know for fact, it feels like Kelly Anne Conway trying to convince me there is alternative facts, like bitch I got eyes fuck you talking bout. To put it simply the Bible is translated in English. Read it, it's not that hard. We are the only animal that loves his neighbor as himself and kills over religion. In whatever way God talks to you whether it's the still small voice, that feeling of feeling led to do something or even if He appeared burning bush style. If God asked you to kill your child would you? And before you say he would never do that, think about Abraham and just try it. It's a thought experiment that made me realize morals were more important to me than "god". I dont care what anybeing says I'm not going to kill my child because something bigger than me told me to. To conclude, I'm not an atheist and I never say never but I believe I never will be. I think someone who says that they know God doesn't exist for a fact is just as crazy as someone who says that they know for a fact that God exist. I admit that I don't know and I believe it is something that can't be known. I don't really even know why I started writing this or if there's a point but it feels good to express myself in words. Weird.
