Series 4 - Donna Noble / DoctorDonna Metacrisis plot

Series 5 - Amy Pond / Crack in Time plot

Series 8 - Clara Oswald / Missy 3W plot

Series 13 + Specials - The Flux & Division plot

I really want to include Bill Potts's series here simply because it was such a GREAT send-off for Twelve. And the Bill/Nardole/Missy TARDIS team was quite honestly SO REFRESHING I LOVE IT SO MUCH AND I WISH WE HAD MORE OF THEM. So I'm going to say Series 10 is in my Top 6. Also, Twelve's last season didn't really have an "overall story arc" to it. BUT that's why I enjoyed it so much. Each episode was like unwrapping a birthday present.

HONORABLE MENTION: 60th Anniversary 3-Part "series" with Fourteenth Doctor/Donna.

NOTE: I wanted to like The Silence plot, but the stupidity of how River was raised to kill the Doctor was a bunch of nonsense... ugh. The only thing I liked about The Silence story arc was The Ponds/River dynamic.

I was watching the Doctor Who Earth Conquest earlier (the documentary covering the World Tour of 2014) when I spotted this sign in the audience in Mexico City (the event where Peter and Jenna wore sombreros while Moff had to make do with a fez!)

This was of course back in the "ancient” days before whoufaldi existed when we had no idea how 12 and Clara would get on, and instead had to look back at the glories of whouffle instead :-)

Oh I love their dynamic! It’s so unhealthily codependent and fucked up and I am very into that. Honestly the only thing stopping me from “shipping” them, as in, in the romantic sense, is that I cannot make up my mind about whether I see them as a codependent romantic couple or a codependent qpr. I really lean towards the latter cuz, well, I like platonic dynamics more. And it’s not like platonic relationships can’t be unhealthy as fuck. I do generally dislike Doctor x companion ships (romantic ones, obvs) but that’s mostly because a) a lot of companion x Doctor ships seem to have the companion have a really rosy-eyed view of the Doctor that doesn’t acknowledge their dark side at all and b) they almost all deserve better than to be in a romantic couple with the Doctor alfdjkafls. BUT I’ll make an exception for Clara since she’s a disaster and also she is aware of the Doctor’s dark side, and seems to like it lmao.

Whoufaldi?

I just realized that I have reblogged two different memes this could be in reference to, but someone asked for one of the other memes, so I’m assuming you’re asking my thoughts on them.

Anywhere, here are my thoughts on them:

I love doomed relationships. I love assholes. I love bisexuals. And I know I bitched about TenRose, but I actually love codependency. Not romanticized codependency though, is the thing. I love codependency where you look at two people and go, “My god, the therapy bills they must have.” Besides, nobody yearns like the 12th Doctor. Like a fucking face for yearning, I stg. Clara loves lying and control, so the situation where Clara is like...controlling their relationship, but it’s still completely doomed. Oh, and the fact that Missy “got him” Clara? Fucking chef’s kiss right there.

Give me a ship, and I’ll tell you my opinions on it.

Looking at "Lake" - In honor of the second anniversary (10/3/2015) of the "Whoufaldi-rich" episode, UNDER THE LAKE, here are a few screen caps featuring some priceless Twelve/Clara looks. These are not father/daughter glances. He practically leers at Clara when she says, “Come on, you feel the same. You're itching to save a planet, I know it.”. And Twelve, either consciously or unconsciously, signs “I love you” to Clara when he says he has a duty of care. Plus, when the two place their hands on the portal glass, you can almost hear them say those three words to each other.

Jenna and Peter were lightning in a bottle and it rarely flashed brighter than in UNDER THE LAKE.

Clara/Eleven

I used to hate them, orginally bc my distaste for the impossible girl arc (which I have since grown to be fascinated by) and undoubtedly some internalized misogyny manifested in me hating Clara. And then bc I realized how much I hate the way women are treated in Eleven's era, both by the narrative and by Eleven himself- admittedly, that was in the midst of the worst of the Moffat-bashing. Maybe I'd have a different opinion if I rewatched his era now, but Doctor Who is off of prime now and I'm not gonna get HBO just to rewatch.

At this point, I'm pretty neutral on both original whouffle and whoufaldi. I can definitely see why people like them, they have sweet moments, Hide (one of the few Eleven eps I did rewatch before it was taken off Prime) is cute, and I absolutely think they both had crushes on each other at multiple points in their friendship, but it's not really a ship that I'm personally invested in.

That said, if Clara were ever to return, I would definitely be down for some angsty Clara/Thirteen
