Here goes the worst man to ever exist i'm obsessed with him to an unhealthy degree.... he makes me rabid I want to put him down but also fix him i want him to be nicer but i love it when he's unhinged an evil... he's the smartest dumbest person, the most pathetic awful little meow meow, a narcissistic monstrous babygirl with deeply-rooted issues beyond our understanding... truly character of all time

What is Steve's favorite color? (Bonus points if/how it changes before/after serum)

Luckily for you I have done unrelated research on colorblidness before and I'm pretty sure generally they affect men much more than women (color blindness is carried on the X chromosome and biological females have 2 of those, so they carry an extra allele that can override the mutated recessive gene for color blindness if one of the alleles is mutated. If it's both, she will be color blind too).

ANYWAY green/red color blindness is the most common and I like to headcanon pre-serum Steve having Protanopia (or Deutaronopia) specifically. People who have it have trouble distinguishing between green and blue, and red and green, apparently, and they don't really perceive red or green as people with normal vision.

All this to say, I like to think Steve's favourite color after the serum is definitely red. The first time he perceives it is Peggy's lipstick after he comes out of the pod. And right after, Erskine is shot. Imagine his horror seeing blood in red for the first time...

And as time goes on and he spends more and more time on the battlefield during the war, I can't imagine him still liking red all that much, because SO much of it he'd associate with death and the trauma.

So afterwards my next logical candidate for his favourite color is green! Because once again it's new and bright for him, something he treasures because it's something he didn't know he didn't have before.

Also on this topic, i'm a firm believer the serum made him see shrimp colors so his actual actual favourite color is uknown to human comprehension (we just see it as green).

Here’s my most recent project. My husband, David, goes by @digitalsodamusic and this is his music. I created the video with my own animation couple with some video-editing.

David’s music is instrumental, and digitally produced with Ableton and other song apps. Some of it may remind you of movie soundtracks… It’s a wild mix of orchestral or symphonic music, ballads, heavy metal, “elite” elevator music (one of his friends coined that phrase lol), house music, and sometimes it’s ambient music… There are several amusing themes, and some of the music sounds like a movie soundtrack. Many of the songs could be played while doing tasks, or to meditate. It’s quite eclectic!

DistroKid distributes David’s tunes over a wide array of apps such as Apple and Google Music, YouTube, Deezer, Spotify, Amazon, Tidal, Veco, Boomplay, and TikTok, to name a few. He pays $22.99 for a year, but there are several different packages offered. DistroKid keeps none of the income: it all goes to the musician.

I usually use FlipAClip to create the videos. It’s a simple enough program for me. I find animation, art, and photo/video editing much easier on FlipAClip. It’s a great for animation, videos, or even just drawing art. Sometimes I need more audio control so I may have to use Splice. Splice also has free sound effects, music, and provides several more fonts than FlipAClip. There are also some extra effects and filters on Splice that aren’t on FlipAClip.

In February 2024 I started making this video on FlipAClip, and finished it at the very beginning of August 2024. That’s 2283 single panels! 😮‍💨

If you read the description on the YouTube post, you can find out more information. You will find all the people credited for the cat content I edited! There are a lot, and some I can’t seem to find. So if someone else finds them, I’d love to know so I can update the description.

Read a story online earlier about someone who buys two cups of tea and sits and pretends that their father has just gone to the bathroom when he's been gone for several years, and I couldn't help thinking, what if this was Steve? What if just after waking up from the ice he goes for a walk and finds that the diner he and Bucky spent every afternoon in just sitting and enjoying the others presence, Bucky reading the new Si-Fi novel he got from the library and Steve sketching the other diners, both of them getting something to drink for free becase they help out the owner whenever they could, is still there. So he goes in one afternoon, and the booth they'd always sit at is still there, yes the seats and table top is diffrent, and so is the decor, but the booth is still there, and he orders two drinks, soda maybe, or water, and pushes one across from him and sets a Si-Fi book he bought earlier that day next to it, because as much as he said he didn't like them, they still remind him of Bucky and decides that maybe, maybe it wouldn't hurt as much, to pretend, just for a little while, that Bucky is just in the bathroom, or mabe taking up a girl at another table, and he'll be back soon. He'll come back and pick up his book and he'll tell a joke, and they'll both laugh and all of a sudden everything is right again, just for a few minutes, just while he pretends.

“Can I get you anything else, hon?”

The man looks up from where he’s idly sketching the soda machine, a glass of chocolate milk half finished next to him. Across the table, there’s another glass of chocolate milk-- this one full-- and a sci-fi pulp that looks like something Lucy would find in her grandmother’s library placed neatly next to each other. 

Smiling, the man shakes his head. “No, thank you,” he says, before ducking his head to return to his sketch. A clear invitation to leave him alone.

Lucy flashes him a grin and nods. “No problem, hon. You just let me know if you change your mind.”

The man nods and mumbles another, ‘thank you’, but doesn’t look up from his sketchbook again. It’s not unusual for people to come into Jan’s Kitchen to idle, but Lucy feels a tug at her heartstrings; the poor guy looks like he’s been stood up for a date. He’s been sitting in the booth for some time now with two drinks, the other a clear placeholder for someone, and every so often Lucky will catch him staring around the restaurant expectantly. Still, it’s none of her business, and she’s not there to judge any which way. So she leaves the man alone and tries not to feel too worried for him when an hour later, he closes his sketchbook and plucks up the other book, leaving one empty and one full glass of chocolate milk on the table, along with a ten dollar bill. There’s a note written on the corner of a sketchbook page when Lucy goes to clear the glasses.

The next time Lucy sees the man, it’s during a Saturday lunch rush. He comes in with his sketchbook and the same pulp novel tucked underneath his arm, and specifically requests the booth in the back-- the same one where he’d sat the previous time. Harried, Lucy tells him that it’s not available.

“Oh,” the man says, and for a moment, Lucy could have sworn she knew him from somewhere. Maybe a low scale movie? Some odd TV show? All corners of New York yielded itself to some amount of famous people. She wouldn’t be surprised if he’d been in something before. “That’s okay. I’ll come back.”

“I’m sorry,” Lucy says, mostly because she hated feeling like she’d disappointed a customer. 

The man smiles, waving a hand, and even though his eyes hold a certain sadness-- a weight-- he looks genuine. 

“No, it’s really no problem. Thank you for your help.”

He strolls out of the restaurant then, and Lucy watches him go. He dresses sort of oddly, too. In straight khakis and an old looking button down. His hair-- while short-- is neatly parted. Huh. odd. Shaking her head, Lucy turns to greet the next patrons.

When Lucy shows up for her shift at Jan’s on Tuesday night, the man is already sitting in the booth in the back, sketchbook open and two cokes sitting on the table. Like the last time she’d seen him, one was still full and pushed to the other side where the sci-fi pulp was neatly placed. It’s thankfully quite sparse in the restaurant, and Lucy takes her time tying her apron around her waist, watching the man’s hand guide the pencil smoothly across the page. He looks exhausted, eyes heavy with dark, pronounced bags underneath them. His skin is pale and there’s a fine tremor to his hands as he sketches. 

“He’s come the last three nights,” one of the other waiters, Harvey, says, leaning over the counter by her side. “Sat in that same booth, ordered--”

“Two drinks? Yeah, he was here one other time I was working, then came in a couple days later asking for that seat. Had to turn him down, ‘cause it was a rush, but…”

“Yeah, I dunno,” Harvey says. “First I thought he was being stood up.”

“Me too,” Lucy says, crossing her arms. The man’s shoulders are tense, nearly drawn up to his ears. “But I’m thinking that’s… not the case.”

“Yeah.” They watch as the man erases something forcefully, then looks out the window. His hand is clenched so tightly around his pencil that Lucy thinks it might break. “What do you think his deal is?”

“I dunno,” Lucy says. “But he looks kinda familiar, doesn’t he?”

Harvey cocks his head. “You know, kinda? He’s definitely military. I mean, look at the way he’s sitting.”

And now that he mentions it, Lucy can see it. The way he’s choosing to sit on the side that faces the entirety of the diner-- a vantage point. Eyes darting around every few seconds, clearly clocking everyone coming in and out, even when he’s distracted. 

“Shit, you’re probably right,” she says. 

“I just hope he’s okay,” Harvey says. “Like, either way, he looks damn lonely. I hope he’s got someone at home, or something.”

Lucy shrugs, but she can’t help the way her chest aches. The man seems sweet, if anything. She sure hopes he’s not all alone. No one deserves that sort of hell.

The door jingles as someone comes in and the man jumps, clearly torn from some sort of reverie. Yeah. Definitely a vet. Or something like that.

the fact that steve probably wouldn’t be able to be put under for medical procedures and pain meds don’t work on him kills me. like maybe after he’s been out of the ice for a while, they’d be able to figure out his situation, but can you imagine how scary that is??

having to be awake for surgeries for injuries from missions, already out of sorts from whatever hurt him and terrified because of all the medical trauma he definitely has from his childhood??

i’m just picturing him delirious and hurt, and nothing really makes sense and he can’t figure out where he is or why, but he knows the distinct smell of a hospital like the back of his hand.

and when nat pops in to check on him he just manages to choke out, “i want my ma”

My #1 post of 2022

so i found a jurassic park parody musical...

rating: ♾️/10, absolute masterpiece

highlights include:

the singing/parodies of famous songs with hits such as pure imagination but the songs are about dinosaurs

the dancing dinosaurs

mr. dna, the actor was super into it and played that role to perfection

john yelling FINE WE'LL GIVE THE DINOSAURS SKIRTS

alan and ellie taking things somewhat seriously and their little science talks

ian. just his whole character was fantastic, he was chaotic, had a solo and was almost always in the background flirting with...something (there's this one scene where muldoon and alan are having a Serious Conversation about how This is Bad and it looks like ian is...trying to chat up a tap dancing velociraptor in the background? at the end of the scene one looks at him and makes a "call me" gesture) and im just ???? this man will try to date anything that moves he can also be seen flirting with extras

THE DANCING DINOSAURS (they're so good they deserve multiple mentions)

the scene with the t rex, there was no flare instead ian just burst out of the car and started dancing with the t-rex AND IT WORKED they sang a whole little song together. it was fantastic.

so y'know the famous dr malcolm pose™️ well in this play they had him lying on a wheeling table and whenever he had something to contribute to dialogue or needed to come on/offstage one of the people offstage pushed his table out and pulled it back in it's one of the stupid little things in this musical but i laughed so hard and had to rewatch this sassy man being pushed on/offstage on a table with his arm in the air several times

THE RAPTOR'S SONG was awesome

zemo fic part 2 draft - what it says on the tin, the second installement in the Ozymandias series, a story about Steve and Zemo, with lots of hurt Steve to go around. For those of you unaware, this is the first work, which is complete:

The state of the sequel is... undetermined but I am slowly chipping away at it. When I'm in the mood.

one bullet - one of the chapters of the previously mentioned fic that I actually finished and singled out. There's a gun and crying involved, is all I'm gonna say

wips 3 electric boogaloo - i'll be honest this one is a mismatch of drafts for stuff I have already written, like my Steve & Peter fic, and big chunks of trip gone wrong, which brings me to:

Trip gone wrong! That's the working title, but I think I'll settle for "The Racehorse Connection". This story has been almost finished for months - i only need to finish one more chapter and the epilogue... more than 50k is done. Unfortunately whenever I go back to this fic, I get the urge to rewrite it... which would be tedious. Anyway it's focused on Steve and Clint and there's some Hydra and aliens involved. Pretty proud of some of the bits that happen later on. Fond of this piece, if only I could finish it...

dragon rider - my samsteve dragonrider au. Mostly I pop in there to add lore/ideas/plot points instead of writing anything concrete

hurry boy, it's waiting there for you - my!!! Kittycap story!! Which for once is just pure fluff!! Mutual pining and first kiss. The good stuff.

metameowphosis - now we're getting to my breaking bad era huh. I mentioned this a few times and I tag stuff with it. Basically if Kafka's Metamorphosis and Christmas Carol had a baby - Walt is inexplicably transformed into a cat and enlists Jesse's help to turn back. And he learns things along the way. Also pretty fond of this one.

cabroncito - my secret secret messed up breaking bad fic... now with a title, but I'm afraid that's all you're getting :) well, a bunch more info i suppose: it's one of the darkest thing I've written... along with zemo fic, but this one is worse imo... to be completed soonish???

love is a sacrament that should be taken kneeling - my gale/walt fic!! Gale fixes him! That's it that's the story. Haven't gotten that much down yet but. I have some ideas.

When do you think Steve started drawing?

When he was a little kid. I know that doesn't narrow it down really, so let me rephrase, once he was old enough to pick up a pencil and doodle.

You know, the usual little kid stuff. Which I now realise doesn't narrow it down either, because what was usual kid stuff back then? That's a question for another day...

So anyway, I bet he was one of those kids who drew a lot ever since they could. Here's where I come in with the headcanon that Joseph was an artist too because that makes sense to me somehow... Steve inheriting his artistic talents from his (maybe) abusive dad has a lot of potential - for angst or otherwise.
