Behind the Scenes of The Doctors Daughter - Part 8
From TV and Satellite Week interview with Georgia Moffett (now Tennant):
Her dad was thrilled when Georgia got the part. "I think he was kind of in shock," she says. "It was weird for him, but it's lovely to have that connection with something he did 25 years ago." Georgia, whose mother is squeaky-voiced American actress Sandra Dickinson, won't be drawn on who is her favorite Time Lord. "David is the best Doctor I've worked with," she says tactfully, "He's so positive - even at five in the morning. But I did tease him a lot, especially when we were out in public. I was like, 'Why are you wearing a hat? Isn't that going to draw attention to yourself?'"

Behind the Scenes of The Doctors Daughter - Part 7
Excerpt from the Podcast Commentary from The Doctor’s Daughter, featuring David Tennant, showrunner Russell T. Davies, and director Alice Troughton
AT: When you say she's not his biological daughter you mean we're not going to go back into his history... RTD: We're not going to meet Mrs. Who and say, "Here's the kids" AT: Of course RTD: It's not "normal" family stuff AT: Although that's what people are thinking - "How are they going to do it?" - with the title being "The Doctor's Daughter" DT: I think that she's more the Doctor's actual daughter than a lot of people are expecting RTD: Oh yes DT: I think people are expecting she'll be some android that the reconstituted Master has made out of ball bearings or something RTD: [ laughs loudly ] AT: Or the hand, I think, is the rumor at the moment DT: Oh is it? RTD: Oh the Doctor's hand becomes his daughter! With a manly hand! [ much laughing ]
[ talking about how the progenation machine works ] DT: I suppose it must clone you to an extent because here's Jenny with two hearts RTD: Yes. Possibly you could argue that that's what you would look like as a woman DT: I should be so lucky RTD: You'd never go out [ much prolonged laughter ]

Behind the Scenes of The Doctors Daughter - Part 6
Excerpt from the Podcast Commentary from The Doctor’s Daughter, featuring David Tennant, showrunner Russell T. Davies, and director Alice Troughton
RTD: Actually, Georgia had auditioned for Rose DT: No! Did she? RTD: Yeah, yeah, yeah! Didn't you know that? Yes! Way back at the very beginning, and she was wonderful. It was literally one of those auditions where you thought, "she's excellent, and..." DT: She can only have been 14 years old then!?! RTD: Well I know. Literally we thought, "give her a couple of years and she'll be fantastic" DT: Right RTD: Little knowing that only 3 years have passed and she's reached all her potential, actually. DT: Yeah, yeah, yeah. RTD: She's very rapidly become very brilliant. Well, she was brilliant to begin with DT: She's terrific in this. She went straight on to be one of the leads in... I'm going to forget the name of it... AT: Spooks Code 9 DT: Spooks Code 9, which is starting soon. I got a message from her yesterday saying that they'd just done a press day... RTD: Oh God, already? DT: ...and all that she got asked about was this [ all laugh ] RTD: Welcome to the rest of your life DT: Which I don't think bothered her at all but I'm sure Spooks-Point-Nine-Point-Six were a bit annoyed [ all laugh again ]

Behind the Scenes of The Doctor’s Daughter - Part 5
Excerpt from the Podcast Commentary from The Doctor’s Daughter, featuring David Tennant, showrunner Russell T. Davies, and director Alice Troughton
RTD: I've got to say, once and forever, we did not cast Georgia Moffett just because she's Peter Davison's daughter
DT: Well, it is a PR coup
RTD: it's irresistible, but I absolutely swear to God - it's like, we auditioned Georgia for the Unicorn and the Wasp, which is next week's episode, for the part of Robina Redmond, but we knew we had this script coming up, and literally we were dreading it. Months before we were thinking, "Who the hell do we cast as Jenny? This is really tough and we have no idea." Georgia came in for that audition and we all just went, "Well that's her!" And the episodes are actually shot many months apart so we had the really weird situation of saying to her, "Can you wait many months? We promise you there's a great part coming up" Which is hard for a young actor - they've got other jobs and other offers. We sent her the very first draft script and she loved it - of course, she could see what a great part that was - and kept herself free. Literally she was so talented - who else could you cast for that part?
AT: She's perfect
DT: Yeah. She is terrific in this, yeah. I thought it was Phil [Collinson - producer] who had first come across Georgia on one of his jollies to Monte Carlo.
RTD: Oh - he says that.
DT: He's been claiming it was all his...
RTD: Apparently he wrote it and he's actually playing the Doctor in this [ David and Alice laugh ]

Behind the Scenes of The Doctors Daughter (Part Three)
Excerpt from TV Times:
Georgia has always appreciated what a well-loved show Doctor Who is, too. “I used to go to conventions with my dad [Peter Davison - who played the Fifth Doctor],” says Georgia, whose mother is Sandra Dickinson. “I was always impressed by the detail fans knew. It made me aware of how important my dad is to loads of people.”
And there’s another follower of the show in the family - Georgia’s six-year-old son, Ty. But she may wish herself whisked off in a TARDIS after revealing who she’d pick as her favorite Time Lord.
“I wasn’t even born when my dad played the Doctor. I think he once tried to show me videos, but I wasn’t that interested,” giggles Georgia. “Everybody’s favorite is the one you watch most and I can’t imagine it being played by anyone but David Tennant. My dad is a wonderful father, but David is my Doctor Who.”
Excerpt from the Daily Star:
Georgia: “David is dishy, isn’t he? He’s not only good-looking but he is such a lovely, sweet guy.”
